It's 3 am why am I so awake
Posted 12 years agoSo I'm at home for spring break, and I'm stuck without ADD medicine because the nurse on campus dun goofed and didn't give me enough and the doctors here won't give me any more because people are silly and they abuse that stuff
Seriously why would you illegally pay for a drug to feel like you drank a pot of coffee. You could just buy a pot of coffee. It has to be cheaper. And tastier. And more hydrating. And less illegal.
I haven't updated here in a while! I'm in college now, early college to be exact, as I graduated out of 11th grade! It's a challenge when you have ADD, but having medicine helps tremendously, to the point that I have pretty wonderful grades and I want to transfer elsewhere so my work is harder. I'm starting to think my unmedicated ADD's been getting worse, and I hope that's not the fault of the fact that I take medicine. I did almost nothing all day because I couldn't stay on one task and I was so sleepy and lazy and apathetic today that I accomplished nothing but helping my mom wash the dogs (Yes, I got a second pup, her name is Maya! <3) and making 3 meals for myself, but even then I made pad thai and M&M popcorn for dinner. At 2:30 am.
If you're wondering why apathy is a symptom of my ADD, it's because I don't have the hyperactive kind you normally see in the media. I have the inattentive kind, so I can't stay focused or organized or remember most of what I take in, just like ADHD patients, but it's not because I'm too busy jumping around and doing tons of stuff. It's because no matter how much of a crap I give, I can't make the wiring in my brain give a crap and do what I tell it to do. It's extremely irritating, but I guess I have the plus side of being more creative than neurotypical people. And unlike some ADDers who take medicine, taking stuff doesn't really kill that creativity, which is lovely. You see why having medicine is a win-win and silly speedfreaks are indirectly making me miserable, right?
Do you know how hard it is to type something of this length I mean what am I even typing anymore I should've made an outline or something
So yeah. I basically just wanted to update this. Maybe I should've waited until I have medicine again. I guess maybe writing commissions are still open? I got absolutely no interest from anyone, but I guess they're still a thing. Just for the love of fuck (oh, I swear now btw), please make sure I have medicine when I go to write it. Otherwise it'll look like this splattery clusterfuck of a post.

PONIES PONIES PONIES SWAG
Posted 13 years agoHay, FA! Sorry I haven't been on in months! Life has been rather busy, but now it is summer and AC is behind us. I don't know who knows, but I'm graduating high school early to start college in the fall. This obviously requires some work, so internetting has not been my top priority. I definitely need to draw (and post) more, for sanity purposes. I'm still in two community college night courses so I can get my diploma early, but that's only until the end of June. I need some monies, so I might do some writing commissions and at some point some wire bracelets and/or non-head fursuit parts. Commission info below!

I got a tablet for Christmas!!!
Posted 13 years ago...Aaaaand it doesn't work yet. The cursor skips all around when I try to click, and the touch part has given up on itself completely. The manual had this exact problem listed, and it said to move away from your monitor. I did. As far away as the cord will stretch comfortably. And it still doesn't work.
The Wacom tech support people aren't in until Tuesday, but I guess I have to wait if I want to talk to a human whose first language is English. (I have nothing against foreign tech support individuals, it's the companies who make me deal with them because they're cheap that annoy me). As much as I complain about Xfinity/Comcast sometimes, I know for a fact that I can call at 1 am with a problem and get a local, American person. Oh well, new gadget, new tech support system to fuss with.
I also got lots of ponies! I genuinely play with them a lot, not just keep them on display. I love how this is completely okay, too. Also amongst the gifts were lots of art stuff, clothes, and an alarm clock that will literally shake me awake.
I got to go see my mate this week! I was really glad, I missed him a lot. We wanted to go to Hersheypark, but ended up just hanging out instead. We took his little brother to an arcade, which was lots of fun (I won a paddle ball and a jump rope and some off-brand play-doh and a Chinese yoyo with my tickets!) We also took some very lovely walks around his neighborhood at night, and picked ornamental grasses to swing around at each other like ninjas. I had an awesome time. :D
I went to the allergist for my concerns over pets and dust, and he told me to try Zyrtec, which is helping a lot so far today. He also suggested Allegra, but I should probably jump through a few hoops to talk to my nephrologist first. For dust, I'm supposed to get special sheets to put under my normal ones and keep my plushies off the bed. :( I also have to wash them, so I hope Teddy survives okay. Snuggling every night for 9 years is rough on a delicate little bear.

I have returned!
Posted 13 years agoHi there! I had sort of an unexpected hiatus, first due to NaNoWriMo then simply laziness and a disagreeable computer.
I want to commission an artist for a gift! I'm looking for someone who can do both anime-ish humans and anthros with chubby characters, and who isn't too overscheduled for the rest of the year. I don't need it done by Christmas, just the end of the year would be best. I don't want to spend much over $20 for both characters, but it doesn't have to be coloured (or even inked, really). Please comment if you or someone you know can fulfill these criteria :3 (I can also do an art trade, but I might feel bad if my work isn't at the same caliber as the comissionee.)
So, updates on the fascinating world of Sunshine! New glasses, had a new dog for a week but he wasn't a good fit for us, got to the semifinals of a little mini Lego Mindstorms robot competition without a working brick to hold the code, didn't finish my NaNoWriMo in time but I plan to continue the story, got all As. So now, a meme!

What sort of artist would you most identify yourself as?
Learning, experimenting, giving up and writing instead.
What would be your secondary identity?
Writing. It's my stronger talent, but I draw more often because it's easier.
What forms of art do you dabble in, but don’t excel at? (Keep in mind: this can change!)
Furry, pixel art, ponies, zentangles, acrylic painting, oil pastels, markers, sewing. Just about everything I draw can be considered dabbling.
How would you describe your style?
Yet to be fully found.
What medium do you favor most?
For writing, pencil or colourful pens. For drawing/painting, most paints, mechanical pencil, or brush pens.
What are your favorite subject matters?
Furry, ponies, cute things, abstract things.
What are your least favorite subject matters?
Horror combined with cute, or actual porn (not just tame fetish art).
List your artistic strengths.
Good sense of colour, good at choosing clothes and patterns, soft lines, making things cute.
List your artistic weaknesses.
Straight or harsh lines, making things serious.
Which of the above contents would you like to see improved?
Both, enough that I can work out more of a personal style.
School/Training you’ve received in the arts?
None except some very memorable art and english classes in elementary school.
School/Training you’d still like to have?
Any sort of arts, something psych/soc related.
Would you consider yourself a ‘prolific’ or a ‘quality over quantity’ sort of artist?
Quality over quantity. I have a lot of thoughts jumping around, but little time or inclination to get them all out quickly.
Would you consider yourself a Commercial or a Fine Artist?
Hmm, neither, really.
Where would you like to be in five years?
Somewhere doing something that makes me happy.

I SAW AN ACTUAL SONIC RAINBOOM
Posted 14 years ago...but unfortunately they're only one colour in real life.
Despite the neverending ride there, I went to Penn State to see their nuclear reactor! It was really awesome! We got free ice cream, talked about making pictures with x-rays (we drew CatDog), did that silly half-life/probability experiment with rolling M&Ms that I've done a million times before, I recited a terrifying amount of the constant e, we discussed that their very anatomically incorrect 5-toed paw (without one offset as a thumb, just toe-toe-toe-toe-toe) logo is caused by the nuclear reactor on campus, and then we saw the actual thing!
The reactor is submerged, but we could look over into it and watch it glow when it was turned on. First it came on slowly, then the second time it was pulsed (something that could never, ever safely happen in a power-producing or navy reactor), meaning it made a gigantic blast of energy and shut off faster than you can blink.
In both of those, it glowed blue. The reason it glows blue is because it happens faster than the speed of light in water, making the light wave equivalent of a sonic boom. Therefore, I saw the closest thing in real life to a sonic rainboom!!
Also, if you're ever watching a movie and someone runs away screaming "THE REACTOR IS CRITICAL," that just means it's on and functioning properly. XD

Because Ponies
Posted 14 years agoI have to be pony-free today :C If I'm not, then that's all I'll think about while trying to take the PSATs and during homecoming. Our theme is One Wild Night, meaning animals! <3
I made a ton of stuff to upload, and I want to draw some moar. I'm going to scrap a lot of what there is to upload, though.
I had some crud to rant about, but I've let it go. I think one of my HKNBs talk about it, but that's okay.
Humans are hard to draw. I traced some pictures from a magazine just to get a feel for the lines, but it's still hard. They look creepy if they're off, but animals just look toonier.
I have new and better fabric to make more sleeves with, but I'm not in any hurry, because it's isn't for Halloween, just for fun. Ah yes! I must upload the sleeves I've already made, as well!
I might be doing some writing commissions soon, but my mom is insisting I let her write a contract. XD It isn't a bad idea, it's just cumbersome and it's hard to get started if you make it too difficult.
AGH I JUST CAUGHT MYSELF READING ABOUT PONIES ON WIKIPEDIA I CANT HANDLE THIS

Please poke fun at my art!
Posted 14 years agoI was reading a rather interesting comment debate. An artist had drawn a very emotional picture, and someone had made a very silly comment on it. A friend of the artist stepped in and asked him to stop, saying that the artist didn't like that, but after a few comments it was a full-on flame war with supporters on each side.
Purrsonally, they both had very valid points, but neither of them expressed them well. But I am not here for them; I am here for my current (all two) and future followers:
Feel free to make silly comments on my art, not matter how emotional!
Now, if I wrote a story about suicide and you post "DO IT DO IT DO IT," that's quite out of line. However, if I draw a vixen ferociously tearing up a curtain to describe my anger, and you post "pms," that's funny and that's fine. I like to see my art in new ways, and I like to see humor in new ways, too. I've found that the funny things I say/write/draw tend to get the best reactions, so I may start doing that more here.
In other news, TMBG concert! Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! :D
Upcoming projects:
-Make stuff on the sewing machine
-Namely, jeans for a plushie
-Oil pastel fox
-Buy tons of fabric and thread and pens and markers
-Finish this section of Vixie and start writing new things
-Try fanart

New art + sewing machine
Posted 14 years agoAs you can see, I posted a ton o' stuff yesterday. I think I should also get/make a new icon, but I'm lazy.
I got to try out our sewing machine today! It has sat in the hall, untouched, since last Christmas. Today my mom and I decided to break it out and try it, and we both refused to follow the directions for the longest time until it refused to work until we did so. Keep in mind that I had never used one and my mom hasn't used one for decades. XD When it works, it's very simple. Also, it has lots of neat embroidery patterns, like leaves and such. I could see myself making some awesome stuff on this thing! <3

I love it here
Posted 14 years agoBut it looks like crazy people live here. I shall clean up my page and add bunches of stuff very soon!
I'm really enjoying FA so far. I like it so much better than when I was on dA, because I feel no pressure to favourite or watch when I don't really care.
You're welcome to all my watchees, and thank you to any new watchers!
