Senior Year
Posted 13 years agoYEAH BABY, SENIOR YEAR.
Mwahaha I have all of four classes, and they're all spectacularly easy. One isn't even really a class, it's Student Aide, and I got like the coolest teacher in the whole damn building. :3 I'm quite please. I ordered my class ring, and it should be in by mid-September.

Cripes...
Posted 13 years agoWow, I need to exist on this site more. But, in case you haven't noticed, I'm not so great at drawin' furs. :/ I've practiced sexy ninja robots more, I guess. ^^; I've actually been workin' on it, though! Yah rly. I just never get past the sketch. Plus, my internet has been absolute crap the past... three months? Yeah. Anywho.
I've been to two concerts in the last, like, week and a half. One was in Dallas: DAUGHTRY. Hellz yesh. The other was a forced ordeal that was sort of fun, and it was Alison Krauss and Union Station in Ruidoso. They're pretty great. And now we've got tickets to go to Train in September! SO EXCITED! PLUS OWL CITY IS COMING OUT WITH YET ANOTHER NEW ALBUM! It may suck, since he just put one out last July, but it's still Owl City, y'know?

OWL CITY MOSH
Posted 14 years agoSo! On Monday (July 25, 2011) my mother and I flew up to Houston Texas to see Owl City, my 100% favorite band/guy (Owl City is almost entirely Adam Young) in the WHOLE WORLD. There, we found out that Unwed Sailor (never heard of them, they were eh, but entirely instrumental, which was kinda cool) and MAT KEARNEY. I know two songs by Kearney, both of which are intensely special to me. His song Closer To Love has been one of my top favorite songs for a very long time, and his song Nothing Left to Lose was on the playlist I took to Europe. This playlist was made up of songs I had not heard much previously, and some of them not at all. They were (in order of the playlist):
Closer to the Edge-30 Seconds to Mars
Dare You to Move-Switchfoot
For The First Time-The Script
Good Life- OneRepublic (Woke up in London yesterday.... :3)
Iridescent-Linkin Park
Last Train Home-Ryan Star
Mr. Right-Rocket to the Moon
Nothing Left to Lose-Mat Kearney
Raise Your Glass-Pink
Wait For Me-Theory of a Deadman
Your Surrender-Neon Trees
Kearney played BOTH Closer to Love AND Nothing Left to Lose. Plus, he jumped OUT INTO THE AUDIENCE. I was like, DUN BREAK HIM PLZ!!! D: I got a hold of him and, when I went back to where I had been, people had moved and I was in the second row in front of the stage! I WAS SO CLOSE!
Mat Kearney made my night and Owl City took me straight to heaven. :D
Adam Young is great in person! He seems so shy, and he dances like a complete dork. :3 I kind of expected him to turn into a ballerina at any moment. And, being the dumbass I am, I FORGOT MY CAMERA IN THE HOTEL ROOM SO I HAVE NO TRUE PROOF OF BEING AT THE CONCERT. Oh wait, my tickets. :3 It was a WONDERFUL concert. The lighting, the atmosphere, etc. Adam sang songs from ALL his albums, and the one I figured he wouldn't play, Tip of the Iceburg (consequently my favorite from Ocean Eyes), was the second song he played!
I couldn't get the guy to frickin' look over at us. The whole time, he was looking straight ahead or to his left. We were on the right. FINALLY, ON THE VERY LAST (terribly romantic If My Heart Was a House) SONG, HE LOOKED OVER AT ME. AND SANG AT ME. For ten seconds, my life was complete.
He threw a guitar pick and it hit me in the hand and bounced out of reach. FML. But I hung around after most people had left and they found one last pick sitting onstage and one of the roadies gave it to me. I got three Owl City bracelets there, which added to my first one and my Sky Sailing bracelet make a rather bulky arm. :D
Also, we are so sweet that we are comparable to Choco Tacos and Ice Cream Snickers Bars. Owl City said it. Therefore I believe it.
OWL CITY MOSH PIT WUT.

Long Journal is Long BUT CATS THE MUSICAL
Posted 14 years agoSo, my Mother and I took a little ride up to Albuquerque, New Mexico to see Cats the Musical at Popejoy Hall. I've loved Cats for a very long time, and I've seen the actual play once before at the Muny in St. Louis.
Unfortunately, I was plagued with the insistant need to use the restroom, right in the middle of the play. And the playbill didn't say anything about an Intermission. I trotted my happy ass up to the doors. I went through, and there was standing Old Deutoronomy, talking to a technical dude. I sauntered past them, quietly having an ecstatic meltdown in my head, and went to the bathroom. Upon returning, I found that the doors were locked. Of course I had that little "OH SHEET" moment because I was afraid I'd miss the whole play.
I timidly knock on the door, assuming Deutoronomy would be gone and the staff would let me in. Lo and behold, out peeks an orange cat face. *GLEE* Again, meltdown. I hold up my hands, knowing the actor was about to go on. He closes the door. The "OH SHEET" returns. Then, as the orange kitty begins "leading" Deutoronomy out into the auditorium (they entered through the aisles and went onstage) orange kitty kicks open the door for me. I let them go, and feel very fortunate that I had already gone to the bathroom, else I would have peed from excitement. I memorize the Cat's costume, and after the INTERMISSION (I was a little embarrassed) he disappears. Then, Skimbleshanks the Railway Cat comes on for his act. IT WAS THE DUDE WHO OPENED THE DOOR FOR ME. Skimble has always been my favorite Cat. SO....
yay.
