Any ways to make my artwork a little bit more popular?
Posted 5 months agoHi again!
I have been drawing for years, as you see, with various results. But generally speaking lots of people like it and tend to praise it.
But for me it seems that my artwork is a bit too obscure and doesn't get enough recognition. So that's why i am titling this journal with this important question.
How to make my artwork a little bit more popular? What should i do else? I think that posting here alone and being quite shy online has reached it's own limits, especially counting many recent crashes of this site.
I am not aiming to be one of the most popular antro artist ever, but still i thing getting a bit more fans would be nice.
So once again. What should i do? I am loooking forward to your suggestions.

Skipping uploads for March
Posted 8 months agoHey, i am still alive, it's still just some stress that's slowing me down.
I am just going to skip uploads for this month, just to bring my usual timetable back to the around 10th of each month.
But i am also afraid that i am actually slowing down with my general artwork creation. I just hope that its quality improves enough just to recompensate that.

Eurofurence summary + reopening commissions
Posted a year agoAlright, i am back home for few days, needed some rest, that's why i am writing it right now.
EF 2024 was definetely worth another year of waiting. Before that i have also managed to visit two very lovely cities of Bremen and Lueneburg (might inspire some new pictures!). Once again met my old friends, spent lots of time talking to them exchanged some new interesting ideas.
As for events, the best thing was defininetely introducing ArtShow Vernisage which for me it has turned this art exhibition into a really major thing during entire convention, attracting lots of people previously not interested in it. The Art Show itself was very good, plenty of high quality pieces, almost no empty panels. My own statistic is 15/16 pieces sold there, not to mention many other own originals that i have sold individually. Also i have got another chance to host once again my own panel about linear perspective, general lesson, how to draw for example my cityscapes. Also manged to sing a song at Fur-e-oke (3h waiting queues!), discussed the future of potential Maja/Alex stories, written down a chess game and solved with help of my friend a small engineering problem.
Overall 10/10.
And because i am fresh out of any drawing commitments, i have decided that it's a good moment to try once again making some commissions. I have already got a small queue after EF, but i don't mind adding a few extra names here if you want. Just contact me any possible channel, no formal entry requied, as usual.

It's been a year....
Posted 2 years agoSince i have written about my how much i am dissatisfied generally with my artwork. I have made some changes during that time, started painting a little bit more, still going to painting workshops, and especially finding a teacher who really provides me with a professional help. As it goes for artwork itself, well, i personally think that my general feeling is not that bad as last year, not evereything that i made past twelve months i could consider great, even recently i have spent way too much time on an idea that i have tried 3 times and still ended up failing it. Still, i just would like to know, how do you see changes in my artwork during this time, especially:
- what's usually good in my pictures
- what's usually bad and requires immiedate improvement
- what do you think is better for me: drawing with colour pencils or oil painting
- what are other subjects that i should benefit me and try later
I am looking for you replies. And as before, i would like honest answers, even if that means being harsh.

Closing commissions (again for few weeks)
Posted 2 years agoAlright, no new customers in sight, so it's time to close commisions for a break.
There are two orders in works, don't worry about them, they will be finished in time.

Summary of my art dissatisfaction post
Posted 3 years agoWell, since it's been over a week after i posted my thoughts about my artwork no one is respoding to it or my comments anymore, i decided that it's actually a time to think everything through and summarise everything that has been written there.
But before that i need to add something that i came up when i was thinking about my art and reminded me why i have been drawing anthros at all and what also made recent expierences so painful.
I have always liked anthro animals and various works featuring them like many people already here. And since i had episodes of drawing in my youth, i decided that that i am finally going to draw them the way i like (relatively modest contemporary setting, human body size and proportions, plantigrade feet, no anatomical extremes, no anthro horses or other farmland anthros and so on) them and show them to the world, as you could already seen in my gallery. And it adds an extra level of pain, if you can see that your vision of furries doesn't really gain any more audience.
Nevertheless, after all of those considrations there are things that i believe i should do:
1. Sticking to traditional media
2. Not going to change my art style (they are MY anthros anyway)
3. Better focus on anatomy
4. Improving lights, colours and shadows
5. more interesting, dynamic poses
6. keep going to drawing workshops (but to be honest 2 hours in a day and per week is a very low amount)
7. use ocassionally different settings
Generally speaking i am very suprised that i've got so many sincere responses and almost each of them has provided something insightful towards improvement of my artwork or been suportive in general. Or even provided somediscussion channels. Also thank you very much that despite all of that you still enjoy my artwork, still like them and really want it to be better that like do. Because i still think it's not good enough as it could be.
Hope all of this is going to bring improvements soon.

I am getting more and more dissatisfied with my artwork
Posted 3 years agoI have been thinking of writing this for long and i am not still sure if it's a good idea. But i will try. Maybe it will help.
I am going to be honest here. I am really getting more and more dissatisfied with my recent artwork output and by that i mean for over last year. Sometimes it makes me feel really frustrated and jelaous. Not really because i don't think that i draw bad, but because it feels like i have stopped improving my skills for some time, like i am really stuck and the entire world is now passing me by. Not every piece you are going is going to be a masterpiece for sure and some of your pieces won't be really good but in my honest opinion last 12 month have been really bad for me. I truly believe some of the pictures i have drawn recently are even way below even my current skills.
And i can see that even when i look at my artwork's statistics over time. I am not following them very close, but i could see over the years how much my gallery was growing with views, faves, watches, comments. It was slow, yes, but it was still there. For me it's an important sign of improvement- more people want to see and enjoy your works. Now recent months show pretty much a stagnation in these areas.
And it makes me really sad, or jelaous, or mad, or all of them in diferent proportions depending on the mood. I spend almost every day on drawing or sketching somenthing for even as little as 30 minutes whenever i can and i have full time job and from that perspective this stagnation really hurts. I am trully afraid that i might have (again) reached a hard border of improving my skills by myself and to breach that, i might need a help from outside.
Seriously, since almost all of comments under my pictures are praising them, i don't really see anything critical about them. Maybe you can see some problem(s) that i can't notice, that more or less are plaguing my art (if they really do)?
Colours?
Characters?
Anatomy?
Composition?
Subjects?
Poses?
Media?
Technique?
Something else?
Or there are also some things that i constantly do quite right and don't need that much improvement?
Or maybe you might have some ideas of what i could try to draw in the future?
(Yeah, i know that i might stick way too long with colour pencils, but it's a little bit unfortunate- most of the time it's like the only medium that i can freely use without time restrictions or lenghty preparations or drying times)
It all might sound that i am that worried, because i really am. I still believe that i can do better and i want to stay with traditional media, they are just way too unique and worth preserving. And for your information, i don't really have aspirations to become a furry artwork star-artist, i don't think i have a personality to handle that.
So far i have recently signed up to a local art workshops, they will take 2h per week and require another 1h total of commute unortunately, but i hope they will help me. I also hope that you might provide some interesting insight. That's why i am asking you to be honest, even when that means being harsh.
PS. Commissions are going to be made on time, so don't worry about them.

Reopening Commissions!
Posted 3 years agoAlright, 19th of september has come, so it's time to restart my commissions.
During the break i was thinking about some work organisation changes. I was thinking about creating some slots available, but since my queue is empty anyway, anyone can sign up for a commission right now, even just to see how much are you going to be interested.
So from now on, i will be collecting various orders for next seven days. Next week i will show you a new Queue of request and then i will start drawing them in new order.
Here are the updated rules:
https://www.furaffinity.net/journal/8589375/
Also important note- for a long time i have been drawing only one commission at once. I guess it made waiting quite long for some, this time i decided to try doing two of them at once to speed up things. I hope this move won't interrupt my drawing timetable.
So, off we go!!!

Commissions to be open 19/09/2022
Posted 3 years agoAlright, it's pretty nice to come back from EF ill once again. Thankfully i feel way better now, so i can finally adress some things,
Okay, as you see in the title, i am preparing to open commissions again. It's going to be monday, so expect opening up at afternoon local polish time, when i'll be back from work. Up this point i should update my terms of service, but i don't think there will be some revolutionary changes.
So anyone who has already declared interest in a commission from me, get ready. From 19/09/2022 I will start collecting orders as soon as possible.

Closing commissions (for few weeks)
Posted 3 years agoAlright, since all of my signed customers currently can't afford a picture for me and all of my previous orders being done, i decided to make a small break from commissions, as i think i need rest a little from them and i also guess that i have to somehow reorganise my terms, queue, communication and maybe prices in the future.
For anyone worried- the queue is still valid, everyone who is signed already is going to get a commission if they still wish. The break should take minimum four weeks, the longest to the beginning of september. Anything will be annouced here.
Stay tuned.

Everyday i am losing lots of faves
Posted 4 years agoAs mentioned in the title, recently i have noticed that my fave count is going down, sometimes several hundreds a day.
This is making me a little bit anxious, like people have suddenly stopped enjoying my artwork en masse or i stopped improving myself.
Can someone tell me what's going on? Do people really don't like my art anymore, or it's some kind of database error or just old accounts being deleted with all the data? Or everything at once? Or something else?
Just please, be honest.
EDIT: If someone interested, next uploads are coming this week, probably weekend.

Starting Commisions!
Posted 8 years agoYes, i have finally time to do something special for you! I was preparing for this for over half a year. Some were asking for this, some are waiting for this, some not and many don't care at all.
I am going to do commisions. If you are really interested, please read the following rules:
Artwork
I am doing traditional artwork only. It means you are going to get an original, physical piece of art to your own hands. All my pitures are drawn on A4 size paper (21cm x 30cm) using pencils or colour pencil (at least for now).
Content
Just take a look at my gallery. This is what i mostly do and will gladly draw. Of course i can make a picture presenting something that i don't usually do. I am open for new ideas and suggestions. But there are some exceptions.
These are definitve NO:
- extreme fetishes like piss, scat, little children in mature/adult situations, vore, extreme violence, extreme fat, extreme muscle, nappies, etc.
- animal genitalia
- hybrid genders (herms and similar)
- offensive/hateful/political content
- anything my little pony
These I would like to avoid (but might be possible after some tweaks):
- horses and non-mammal anthros (sorry guys, i have never likes anthro horses and anthro birds and lizards)
- pokemon, digimon, sonic characters (i'm not into nintendo games and sonic's characters anatomy repulses me)
- ferals in general
- homosexual sex acts (romance is fine)
I might not accept a commision request without specified reason.
If you have any doubts, just ask me.
Prices:
Prices will be dependent on the level od detail required to make one picture, but in general my prices are:
-pencil sketches: 20€ - 30€ range
examples:
https://www.furaffinity.net/view/34699628/
https://www.furaffinity.net/view/43678597/
-colour pictures: 30€ - 40€ range
examples:
https://www.furaffinity.net/view/47785436/
https://www.furaffinity.net/view/47785020/
Payment via PayPal prefered (SyntechKB).
the Queue/Wating list/Slots
Depedning on the number of requests you might end up on my Queue list, organised by the date of the request. Once you are there, you will be guaranteed a commission as long as you want one. When it's your turn, i will contact you.
If i won't get an answer in next 7 days, i will skip you and move to another person.
If i get an an answer after 7 days, i will come back to you later.
If i won't get any answer in next 30 days, you will be out of the Queue and you will need a new request.
But if you can't afford a commission right at your turn, i might skip you for next persons and come back you later, depending on the situation. Otherwise, you will be out of the Queue and you will need to register again.
You can sign out at any time.
For last months i have been doing only one commission at the time. This time, as part of experiment, i will try doing two different commissions at once.
Realisation
Generally speaking:
1. First of all, you just need to request a commission first via FA/Telegram. No formal entry required.
2. When it's your turn, have a prepared description of your dream picture (characters, colours/bw, poses and similar) and then pay for it. This moment marks official start of a commission.
3. I will draw various concepts sketches of your idea and present them to you. You will pick your most favourite one and this will be a basis for the final picture.
4. I start drawing the final picture. Expect various update messages.
5. If you decide that the final picture is finished for you, i stop drawing and then i'll request your postal adress to send you the pic. You can also wish for a scan instead.
Time required: Around four weeks maximum, counting from the payment. I still have full time job and still commute. I would like you to respect that. This does NOT include shipping time.
And a very important note here. Because i am drawing a traditional media picture, there is a very hard limit, how many fixes can be made. That's why I will show you various updates on the final pic at various stages and definetely just before i start putting first colours. I would like you to comment on the progress and provide as much support as possible, because the further the drawing goes, some changes will be harder or even impossible to make. And it will make it much easier to create a pitcure that you really want. I really count on your cooperation.
Sending the pic
After the pic is finished and i have received your adress, i will visit the post office as soon as possible (most likely one of the workdays), so your pic will be finally on the way to you. To protect the artwork from the bending as much as possible, there will be a piece of thick cardboard inside and ,,don't bend!!!'' warnings written in polish and your local language/s. Your post will be certified and registered.
You will get the tracking code looking like this:
RRXXXXXXXXXPL
where X are various numbers. You can track your post by typing this code in your local post service or international tracking systems to watch, where your package currently is. Unfortunately some providers don't actualise them immiedately, i would like you to note me for the very last time to confirm, if the package has arrived safely.
Refunds
Full refunds available before i start making final pic. After that the returned amount will depend on the work invested.
