Thanks for sticking with this project for 2+ years. It's a book I did not intend to write, and it's been a surprise at every turn. I don't seem to have the focus I once did, so this project has taken much longer than I am used to. I've had fun playing fast and loose with the narrative, and I think No CGI is heading toward a meaningful conclusion.

No CGI, arc 2, is complete as a first draft. I used to be so much faster than this, able to crank out 30k words in a couple weeks. This is like 3 months since I started.

Oh well. The story is moving, and I even have a plan for arc 3.

Beginning, middle, end.

I plan to go back and edit what I've written and then I start posting chapters again. Unexpected things happened while writing, and I like that. It means this is worth the effort.

I got my own apartment at last, and I'm thrilled to have a place of my own, without roommates. Don't think I'll make it to Anthrocon this year. Can't justify the expense.

I have several projects I'd like to resume, but nothing is happening. Creativity seems to have abandoned me.

The novel expansion of Biggest Fan has stalled, though the story is twice as long as the original so far.

I have a beginning point for Arc 2 of No CGI, and I have started writing it, but... it, too has stalled.

I miss the focus I once had. Unsure what happened to it. It will return again, but until then, I don't know what to do.

I have a plan for how to continue No CGI and Hoard of Big Fluffs. I am also working on an expansion of Biggest Fan.

Anxiety has been bad, but I'm on meds again. Also I may be changing jobs and living situation in the near future. Unsure how all of it will play out, or if I'll be able to attend Anthrocon.

Everything is still ideas swirling around in my mind.

Feels very good to play fast and loose with an idea, especially one that is just for fun. Playing with a fetish in the most naked way possible. Don't care if it's publishable. Just cut loose!


I have a vague idea of where I think the story it headed, and I plan to let it take me somewhere.

I like this idea, and I like the gradual approach to writing. Previous projects involved me composing in single marathon sessions lasting months at a time. No CGI has evolved one or two chapters per week, sometimes less. It's refreshing.

I’m sleeping worse than ever since I started antidepressants, and the swelling in my feet is becoming worrisome. I think anxiety is getting worse, too, gradually since I took my first dose last week.

I just want to sleep. Please let me sleep. This does not feel like progress.

I want to be normal. I want to feel normal. I want to reclaim that feeling of being able to do anything, conquer anything. I haven’t slept a whole night through in a week. Anxiety seems to increase when I take the pill.

Doctor said to try taking the pill in the morning instead of evening and see if that helps. Fair enough. Complex problems often have simple solutions.

Having a very difficult time concentrating on anything. All I want to do is stare at the wall and listen to music. I want to write, but thoughts don’t coalesce.

I’m waiting to feel normal again. I’ll settle for feeling “ok.” When does that start?

Getting into wine and coffee and such gives me a reason to go out and explore the city. If I get bored at a furry convention, I can always make my own fun.

I'm switching to another story I plan to serialize. I've never done this before. Normally I can't rest unless I complete one idea and only then can I move on to the next idea. My new state of mind sees me flipping back and forth between multiple things. I miss the focus I once had, but these two stories seem well suited to my new state of mind.

My writing is all over the place. I’m composing chapters out of sequence. I’m writing two different books at once, switching back and forth as I think of things. I’m editing just hours or days after finishing each chapter. I never used to do any of this. As recently as Solid Magic, I wrote from beginning to end, rarely going out of order, saving the editing for after I was done with the entire first draft. Something has changed. Even in the way I mow the lawn. I don’t do it linearly anymore. I used to be methodical and efficient, doing each section in order. Now I’m all over the place. I still don’t like the change, but these two stories seem to suit my new writing technique/state of mind.

I now have four viable ideas I want to explore. I have broader realities sketched out for most of the Yiff Vignettes. I can add more at any time.

If I were to expand Biggest Fan into a novel, how would I do it? It seems to be the most recent thing I wrote that’s gotten some attention, so here are my thoughts.

The short story is paced as a short story. Would need a more gradual buildup to the big stuff.

Extend the conversation in the car. They really do need to talk more about this stuff, as it’s pretty heavy.

Expand the conversation after the movie. They’re jerking off together and father is getting off hearing about all the shit his son is doing, maybe wishing he’d been that adventureous when he was his age.

Fill the time gap between the movie and the video with something else. Maybe mom comes home and everyone catches up.

Ethan has the idea to frame it for his channel as a reveal video. Like, hey subscribers, I think my son has a crush on me. The whole thing blows up, and Ethan wants to continue , but dad is nervous about putting this out there.

What happens next? Where is this going? It becomes a hit series. Most of the time they’re not staging it, but father is worried where this is going. Son isn’t concerned at all and is all in on making money putting their sex lives on camera for all to watch, like a soap opera. Meanwhile, yeah, Roscoe’s marriage is falling apart but not in a bad way. They both seem fine with parting ways, so what does that make him and Ethan?

Ethan strikes me as eager to go along with things, not thinking of the future, whereas Roscoe is very much concerned about where all of this is going and if it could hurt his son’s chance at getting employment in the future. Could be an interesting dynamic to explore.

I’m unsure where it goes, or what the point is. It could have something to say about social media. Dadcest is not really my thing, but to explore the possibility could be fun.

It’s been a productive year.

Having Deity Theory reprinted in the Furry Megapack was also a thrill. It really does feel like something I did will be preserved for future generations, right up there with Best in Show. The Tech is in Zooscape, and I’m so happy that dark piece of fiction is out there now.

In terms of writing and publishing, it’s been a good year.

Do they draw attention to the injustices of income inequality?

Do the animations encourage university students to consider the legitimacy of the ownership class? Certainly not.

The UoV urges students to read the history of how a dragon with a muscle fetish, and a human who became whatever he desired, encouraged us to question if the noble families deserved their status based solely on birthright.

This is a reworking of an older story (one of the few that's still up from the days when I was more prolific at posting stories online) that I liked too much to forget. It's also not quite as fetishy as my previous works, but there's still some size stuff going on. In fact while waiting for cover art, I kept going back and making the muscles bigger. It's still be doing it if cover art weren't finished.

I wrote the first draft of this story last year, just before COVID hit. It felt good to be inspired to write something adult again.

Far Space 3 once belonged to the Atlins, but now humans are using it as an outpost for their continuing mission to spread Democracy across the galaxy to people who don’t really need it.

The space station is full of high-concept drama and sci-fi action and interpersonal conflicts between members of the crew and the numerous aliens coming from the nearby rift in spacetime.

None of that matters to Paul, a scaliefox living in one of the shops on the inner diamond of FarS3. He doesn’t get involved in any of it, content to sit in his shop making custom contraceptives. He even lets his clients try the sleeves on him for no extra charge. It’s all he wants in life.

Still, Paul can’t help but look out his window and wonder if maybe he could be part of the intrigue and action he hears about.

It’s a completely original science fiction story set in the non-derivative Universe of Dead Water that is full of ADULT SCENES of M/M orientation.

...ok, normally I don't bother participating in griping about a free website we all get to use (for free), but things have been laughable for a long time and I think we need to call this what this is.

FA is just making it a rule of no more than 3 reminder submissions every 24 hours. There's no software enforcing this. It apparently relies on admins. Have fun enforcing this guideline.

Yeah, the constant feed of artists posting streaming alerts is annoying, but it's merely a symptom of a larger problem with FA: it is OLD. Creating a policy isn't going to fix that.

Guys... we have alerts for new submissions, new journals, new watchers. So create a new alert for auction reminders. Create a new alert when an artist is streaming. Create a new alert for when an artist is opening for commissions. Give users the ability to toggle such alerts to their followers. It can't be healthy for the site for people to keep uploading and deleting the same image every time they want to update their status on one of these things, and a simple edict is not going to stop that, not when it relies on volunteer admins enforcing it.

Sofurry had HTML 5 support for videos years ago. E621 has video support. FA is still dealing with flash, and people are still uploading pics as auction and YCH reminders. A royal decree is not a solution. Do something to the site!

It doesn't and shouldn't be like twitter. Social media sucks as an art gallery. I like FA because it alerts me to every single post from every single person I follow. We're not at the mercy of an algorithm. That's FA's greatest strength, and furry sites can and should maintain that.

IMVU did nothing but update the advertisement code. Now the site is in private hands again, so please do something to keep up with user expectations. Clearly there's demand for new alerts, and implementing them will go a long way to improving user experience, even if nothing else changes.

Counting the book I just wrote, I have 4 concepts for adult books floating around in my head. Maybe they've all incubated enough to write them.

High concept sci-fi furry porn.

First draft ended at 65k words. It will probably stretch out to 70k after editing.

It will likely need heavy editing. The text is no doubt disjointed because my mind felt disjointed the majority of the time I wrote it.

But this story takes place in a well-defined world, which is something lacking in my previous tagenar books (http://www.tagenar.com ), which always bothered me, though it worked fine for those stories.

This will be an adult story set in the same universe as my Archeon series (http://www.furaffinity.net/view/27449319/). Something lighter in tone and looser in terms of concept.

A couple characters later in the series would be fun to follow along and witness their sexual exploits across the contacted universe.

But... I have nothing. The story is setting up to be a bunch of disconnected sex scenes, and the book won't be *about* anything. I worry I'm trying too hard to have an idea, and it's going to feel forced.

I don't want to think I've exhausted my well of adult stories. I'd like to have fun while writing, and showing the uncensored side of this storyverse does interest me, but nothing is happening.

This worries me. I kinda miss having an adult story to write. Maybe eventually something will click and I will be able to write it.

I've noticed something about gay porn. Stories, videos, comics, everything. A common theme is two alpha males fighting each other and then one ends up taking the other's dick, often unwillingly, and then accepts it in defeat at the climax—hey, it felt good for everyone, so all is well.

I wasn't aware of this trope until quite recently. Hell, I even wrote a couple stories along these lines. At the time, I accepted it as just exaggerations of dominance/submission. You can see this theme play out in numerous stories in different forms (including one current comic I'm following which shall remain unlinked and unnamed). Subs being abused and forced into bottoming; doms being subdued into taking dick by another dom or even a sub...

I don't think we realize what we're writing about.

It's rape.

Yeah, funny how it can go unnoticed within this context. I've even seen it in straight porn a few times, but no matter how you frame it, it really is rape.

Looking back on a couple of my old stories, I realize I've fallen into this trope as well.

Granted, what's being displayed is dominance and submission. Those two things are heavily fetishized in gay porn, and nothing is more entertaining than watching a couple alpha males duke it out for dominance and then one triumphs. There's a deeply instinctual desire to see this kind of thing.

In my case, I suppose it comes from the fact that it happened to me once. What started off as lying in bed together turned into sudden penetration. I didn't stop him because it was kinda hot and what I had fantasized about. It was mutual, but sort of justified after the fact. The portrayal in gay porn, however, is often not. It isn't until the climax that everyone comes to terms with what just happened—hey, it's ok because it felt good for everyone involved.

But... does it have to involve rape? It shouldn't. Nonconsensual sex should not be glorified, or even justified after the fact. Exaggerating dominance/submission is one thing, but it doesn't have to be rape.

How could I not realize this before? It should have been obvious. I'm a little embarrassed by a few of my old stories now (some of them were commission work). It never occurred to me what was happening until someone pointed it out to me. I urge all writers to take a hard look at what they're portraying. There should be a clear difference between dominance/submission as a fetish, and rape. Colloquially, the word rape is often used to describe surprise sex, but as portrayed, it's still mutual and therefore it's not rape. Don't confuse the two. Nonconsensual sex, by definition, does not feel good and cannot be justified after the fact. I think we need to take a good look at what we're writing about and realize what we're describing. There must be a way to portray this without resorting to nonconsensual sex.

DANGEROUS THOUGHTS

It's for adults, but not explicitly "adult."

It's the kind of science fiction I've always wanted to read but have found only in very limited quantities, even within the furry world. Science Fiction that features nonhuman characters as the leads instead of the companions, or the sidekicks, or the NPCs, or the villains.

I wrote it to recapture a piece of my childhood. My friends and I created entire imaginary worlds and acted them out, totally improvised, no planning. We would just start doing things and a world and story would emerge out of nothing. Live Action Role-playing at recess--chapter plays happening day after day, all the kids involved picking up where we left off the previous recess.

As a child, I was drawn to other kids who could share these imaginary worlds with me, both in school and away from it. Almost everyone I knew did things like this. My friends outside of school were exceptionally good at it; we created entirely new identities for ourselves, villains to fight, often playing ourselves, the villains, and each other, jumping back and forth as needed. We'd play off each other, and a story would emerge out of nothing. Sometimes they would fizzle out, but sometimes they would take off and become epic.

Join me for the beginning of a new epic adventure inspired by the childhood worlds I acted out with my friends.

A velociraptor (utahraptor, for those in the know) and a fox traveling from planet to planet to save civilization from collapsing.

As the series progresses, its scope only gets larger until it eventually involves not just the fate of the universe, but the multiverse.
