As those (few) who follow me here, you'll notice I've posted new images. These are images I've purchased from Ronzo Murphy, aka ShoNuff44 via his Sunday lottery. I was surprised when I won the first, a little less surprised the second time.

The images are of Tal and Teela. Tal is the unicorn morph, old and yet not appearing so old to the average person. Only a few know how old Tal really is, and Tal prefers it that way. Being a unicorn, he's a very good fighter and mage, his powers earth-based.

Teela, however, is fully human. She's a warrioress, having trained with some of the best swordsmiths in her world. Young in age, she travels with (and works with) Tal, fighting evil to protect the people. Her blade is magickal in nature, able to shield her from her enemies.

Eventually there will be more to come...

Uploaded a few more images I took at the "Wings over Houston" airshow back in October of 2011. I've been working through my collection of digital photos, cleaning up and making them worth posting here.

Not much else to say, still working in Space Systems, doing computer support for the folks who help maintain and supply the International Space Station. Over four years now, and I still love it.

You know, it's funny. I've been along the fringes of various fandoms for years and years, and yet I've managed to hold a low profile for the most part. I've been a part of Star Trek fandom, Pern fandom, Dr. Who fandom, Beauty and the Beast fandom, Furry fandom, Elfquest fandom... and yet I've never really have gotten so tightly wound up in any one particular fandom.

And as I've gotten older (and yes, I've gotten old, when you've been on FurryMUCK for 20+ years), I find myself actually enjoying staying on the edges. I've watched Furry Fandom go from just an amusing offshoot from comics into its own sub-genre, then watched as sub-groups form within Furry. Most of which I've watched developed with either an amused or horrified personal opinion of. Fursuiters, 'Furry as a Lifestyle', Bronies, it's like 'really, folks?' Then again, I've seen variations of all that in other fandoms as well, the folks who take Star Trek or Star Wars as a religion, almost.

As for me, well, I've moved out of the Florida panhandle (Southern Alabama in more ways than one) and over to Houston. Where I get to work with former astronauts, engineers, rocket scientists, NASA officials and the occasional government official. My official title is "Executive Services Technician", which means I'm supposed to fix the senior management's systems... but most of them are so technically savvy on their own that they usually come to me only when it's a problem they can't figure out. So I also end up dealing with other jobs and other issues, usually since no one else wants to deal with. Like Blackberry phones and VMWare images. Fun.

Hey, but I like it.

As you can tell, I'm bothering with posting some more images. This batch is from my visit to the Houston Zoo, since a) I was off from work, and b) I hadn't been there yet. There's a few other places I want to visit here in the region, including a wolf sanctuary that's north of Houston (The Wolves of Saint Francis Sanctuary). And there's one or two drive-thru wildlife preserves that are around the area that might be worth visiting.

But I'm having fun with this. I know I'm not a professional when it comes to photography, strictly a half-decent amateur who at least knows how to deal with f-stops and shutter speeds... and when not to use a flash.

I've had this page for what seems like years, but now I'm actually bothering to do some postings. I'm going to start with some of the best shots I took from the Wings over Houston airshow this weekend (15-16 October, 2011), and may later add some of the wildlife images I've taken over the years.

It's not that I don't have much to say, but this is more of an idle spot where my photographs will be placed from time to time. Enjoy them!
