And I can prove it. It has been wet here for the past two weeks. No surprise. It's Seattle. But the grass is getting tall and I need to cut it before I leave for AC so the house does not look abandoned while I am gone. Weather forecast says Sunday will be a good day. Lo and behold, it is. I gas up the mower, add oil, and it starts right up. I start the blades and start to mow. Except, the grass coming out the back end looks like the grass going in the front end. What the? Blades are turning. Just not much. This is a new one. I've had the blades not turn before. Usually means the belt has jumped the track. Nope. Not this time. So, the grass will get to grow for another week and a half while I'm gone.

Bugger it. I'm going to watch Prometheus in IMAX 3D. Assuming I can get there without getting hit by some idiot who drives even worse than me.

There is nothing quite like starting the day with a phone call from the bank wanting to discuss the suspicious charges that have been made to your cedit card.

Well into day three without power, internet, phone, or cell signal. Today is the first day in a week I have been able to get the car out of the driveway. What I want to know is who pissed off the Seattle weatherd gods?

I have returned from MidFur. LONG flight but if you ever get the chance to go, do it! The staff is wonderful. The people are awesome. And, going from 20 deg. F to 70 deg. F is a nice change. Had a wonderful time even if I did miss a couple of days because of a cold.

My generator has been a boat anchor for a month now. Every year I have had the thing, some part has failed and had to be replaced. Now, if it were an older model with many years of service, I would not be surprised. However, it was brand new. This year, a cheap piece of plastic in the carburetor broke and cannot be fixed. So, the carburetor must be replaced. It took three weeks for the part to finally arrive. Then, another week for an appointment. That was supposed to be this morning. However, the part is not where it was supposed to be so I now must wait for another week for the part to be moved to where it is supposed to be and another appointment to be available. Fortunately, the weather has been cold but calm. Usually, we have had at least a couple of wind storms by now. They blow trees onto power lines. That is why I bought a generator. Good thing I do not need it. Any body need an anchor for their boat?

It is 25 degrees F at my house. That is MINUS 4 C. Would someone please tell me when Seattle joined the arctic and why?

Seattle to Detroit flight delayed so that Detroit to Pittsburgh was taking off as I landed. How can a redeye be late? They did have me booked on the next flight already. So, killing time at Chili's.

Perhaps you will remember my post from last June (yes, that long ago) about my sick computer. Well, the place I took it these many months ago has steadfastly refused to respond to email and telephone inquiries. It did not even respond to the Better Business Complaint I filed against it. So, I finally gave up on ever seeing it again and a good friend built a new one for me. An Intel i7 quad core CPU with 4 gigs of memory and a video card with more computing power and memory than my first computer! Zombies have no chance.

It arrived yesterday. Now, all I have to do is recover the back up of the MIA computer's hard drive, get software loaded, etc. In other words, those who wonder why I dropped of the face of the planet should start seeing me again soon.

We are not quite there yet but I'm tired and have nothing better to do so I'm going to bed. With luck, 2011 will be better than 2010 but I'm not going to bet on it.

A couple of weeks ago I spent $500+ to fix a leak in the roof. It still leaks. Today, I spent $300 to check out a warning light in the car. On the way home, it came on again. Give me an f***ing break!

My PC died today. (Making a quick post from my work laptop.) I will be unable to do much of anything until it returns from Russ' shop where I shall take it for diagnostics and repair.
