Krulai Information: Social Structure
Posted 4 years agoThis is a WiP!
Family Structure
Krulai hold strong loyalties to close family members, especially nestmates. This is not by choice, but rather a social expectation taught from birth. A Krulai's first bond is with their father, who will jealously guard his nest against every and all perceived threats, including close family. Once a Krulai hatches, they are under their father's care. He will slowly allow close family to interact with the children, starting with the mother and working his way through each of their families. Close friends are also allowed to interact with the children early in their lives. After 2-3 years, a Krulai father loses his fatherly instincts, which coincide with the children graduating to a bipedal stance. From the time they stand upright until adulthood, Krulai children are integrated into the wider community of the clan, where they begin their path to adulthood.
Clan Structure
Made up of distantly related families, clans make up groups as small as a few individuals to a few thousand.
Tribe Structure
Tribes are made up of clans who share language groups. A clan can be members of more than one tribe.
Union Structure
Unions are made of clans who share geographical locations, similar to how countries with on Earth. Union borders are constantly shifting as political alliances shift.
Council Structure
The council is made up of members elected from each tribe, numbering in the thousands. The council handles global and intergalactic politics, speaking for the Krulai as a whole.
