Ok so everyone here knows all the stuff behind all the Weasyl talk lately so I shouldn't have to recap that. Only thing I'm gonna bring up was the stance that anything that happens off FA can't be used against you on FA. So when I sign on to my Weasyl account today I learned two things. One is that that stance is bullshit cause  thewielder was perma-banned for... comments made off FA. Not only is that bullshit, but it's kinda petty too cause if you look on his account he's been gone for like three months if not more.

The second thing I learned was that legitimately asking about the logistics of this case like  Kayla-Na did, you earn yourself a one month ban. And it's not like the journal that was made there was an all out attack either. See, I can understand damage control, and these sort of tactics might work if you pull them on people like me, but putting popular artists under the ax like this is really putting forward the wrong image. You want the drama to disappear, just leave it alone, and you sure as hell shouldn't over correct like this especially when it so blatantly contradicts the last mess. Thats my opinion on the matter and so far as I know, those aren't against the rules. I just brought the rest of the info for anyone else that would want to DISCUSS this, not riot over it.

I'm pretty sure I mentioned this months back, but I've been without a car since October. I managed to finally get a 2001 Saturn L-200 from my uncle on the 28th. Rather rough around the edges, especially when you get in the thing, but I'll be damned if I didn't like driving it. Finally got it in the garage for an inspection and to get the muffler attached since, well, it didn't have one attached at all, and... they never got to the muffler. I'm not sure how far they got into the whole process, but they got it in the air and pretty much an instant fail because the sub frame was pretty rotted. To the point where it isn't really safe anymore. So that on top of all the other issues that were out standing, I'm pretty much without a car again. One week. Pretty good record.

This of course makes getting back and forth to work a pain in the ass, and I'm glad I waited till I got home from work to rant about this cause I got something more to add. My boss has been awesome in helping me out with this since I'm not very far out of his way at all, but he's going on vacation this week so I thought I'd ask my other coworker for help while my boss was gone since it's not very far out of the way and it puts him, in my opinion, on safer roads for him to travel back home on. Not that that's too big an issue since it's gonna be in the 40s this week and he just got brand new snow tires on a car thats already pretty good in the snow. So what's he have to say? "I don't wanna have to drive up the hill." So at least now I know who not to trust to help me out.

And on an even better note, I woke up yesterday morning and had a text on my phone waiting for me. Seems the night before (Thursday I guess, still not sure on the times) one of my aunts had a heart attack and died. Now I'll come right out and say that I wasn't very close to her at all. She was on my father's side of the family and I'm not too close to anyone there but it's because of distance more than anything else by far. But still, her and all the other aunts (or maybe they were like great aunts cause they were all noticeably older than the usual aunts and uncles, but I always get lost when it gets to specifics about it), they were always really nice to me whenever I saw them and it really goes far to remind me how out of touch I am with the other side of the family, and how for some I'm really starting to run out of time to fix that.

So yeah, 2013 you suck already. Knock that shit off.

I'm a pretty firm believer in not getting so positive about today. I don't believe that all your life's worries will just disappear with one tick of the clock, or some glowing orb sliding down a pole like some nasty stripper. 2012 was a pretty shit year for me though, I can't deny. From day one it was drama and bullshit and it never let up, and it seemed whenever anything did go right there was always a catch. I didn't even really have anyone I could talk to about all the shit that was going down. 2013 I expect nothing different in. I finally got a new car, but it needs a lot of work to make me feel safe driving it, and apparently it's ungodly hard to find parts for L200s. I haven't even gotten it inspected yet. It's got an appointment for Friday, and I'm a nervous wreck cause I don't know what they'll find wrong with it and I don't have a lot of money laying around which is my other burden to carry over. I'm looking at my cash flow and the ridiculous amount of handouts my mother gives to my scumbag half siblings and I can't help but wonder if we're gonna be able to keep this roof over our heads.

So yeah, 2012 sucked but it's all just gonna transfer anyway so the hype for 2013 is lost on me. Its more like I survived the onslaught of 2012, I'm barely standing back up all bloody and bruised, and I see 2013 standing there ready to strike, and all I have to say is bring it on, I'm use to the pain.

I've been seeing some people broadcasting their SoFurry and Weasyl accounts more lately, and if not that just flat out saying they're only gonna be active there anymore. Just wondering what the hell is up with that? I know the AUP was updated and whatnot but was it really that bad? Seriously, was it cause I never really pay attention to that since I don't ever have much to post up anyway and its usually well within the rules. Still I suppose this isn't terrible since its made me smack the dust off my SoFurry account, not that I was using it in the first place, but I think I may start putting things up there just for the hell of it. If you wanna find me there it shouldn't be hard, but I still plan on staying put anyway.

Well now that I can say that I'm back finally, I'll do this post con thing. Sadly, there's not much to report on my part this year so I'll start all the way at the train ride part. First time doing this so I didn't know what to expect really, but it turns out they're more relaxed about shit than I thought they would be. The ride itself was pretty good, though slower than I thought we should be going at times, so as a result I was a bit late arriving. I get there and find out that my choice in arrival stations was... wrong. So I had to stand around for a couple hours, but from there it was smooth sailing.

Got to the con and helped  acebearpaws set up the photo shoot stuff while we waited for  maplegleam  fidget_duck and  The_Cheshire_Penguin to get in from their dinner. And well... then the con happened. Nothing really stood out this year for me and I don't really have a reason why. I was just off my game or something, I don't know. Wasn't successful at finding anyone to really hang with for any extended period of time, wasn't invited to any parties or anything, just ended up invisible really. Longest time I spent talking to any one person is a toss up between  Sasuke in the registration line (thanks for the booze by the way), and hanging with  maplegleam after the FireFright incident (which I'm sure enough of rambled on about so I'll spare you). So I dunno, maybe it's just not being able to shake all the things that went ass up before the con, or maybe it was just me over hyping myself this year, but I just couldn't find the magic. Not to say I didn't have fun, but not as much as I could have. And fuck this hurricane man, it ruined the end of this con big time. I'm use to helping with the truck and sitting down with the staff for an awesome dinner at the end, but this time everyone had to flee leaving the truck crew very small and the dinner not happening, though the dinner cancelling might have been  BelicBear not feeling so hot. If you read this man, I hope you're feeling better. Hope to catch up with you some once the smoke clears. I did walk away with some good art commissions though which will trickle in at different times I'm sure, but you'll all see them when I have them and they're almost all from artists I hadn't been watching before so that's fun. Also dove into Munchkin cause of all the fun I had playing it last year and walked out with three different kinds so that's also awesome.

Then there's the going home part, this part sucks. A lot. Drive home was... a little rain, so we're all thinking "what hurricane?" Then my phone goes off, but it's a number I didn't know so I ignored it. Voice mail. Odd. Give it a listen, and Amtrak is suspending operations which cancels my train home. So I spend an extra night at  acebearpaws' place and before I get a chance to myself, my sister moves my ticket to the following day. She's just good like that. So Ace and I are hanging about the night before I go back, I'm on a laptop and on a whim I check my email for a second time that night. Amtrak again with a suspended service email sent at damn near 10pm. Pretty dick move not giving people much warning there, don't ya think? Well Ace says fuck this and was awesome enough to take a day from his work and get me home so I could get to work myself, which kinda sucked cause it was that same night that he'd get me home. And my air mattress was dead. And my boss had the flu. Yeah it was a shitty night at work, but I was there. And now I'm here, trying to get back into my old schedule just in time to have it fucked up by daylight savings.

So yeah, that was my FurFright experience. Rather bland really, but can't always be the best experience ever, and there is always next year hopefully. Just needs less hurricanes and fire drills and more booze. Off to post some art now.

I may get knocked down just like everyone else, but getting me to stay there is not so easy.

Ok so I might have despaired a bit early there, but I had also been running on empty. Long week at work, having more to do than we should have, and being down a guy, just took a lot outta me. Plus I don't think people realize just how much I loved my car. Was my baby for 10+ years, and much like me, it may have looked like hell, but it would never let you down. Hell it was more reliable that most people I know.

Anyway, I'm steering things around now. I had an old Neon in the wings that I kinda just neglected, but to be fair, it wasn't till just last night that my uncle came out and said that he really did give it to me. Its a '95 and a big rough around the edges, but with a few simple repairs it'll at least be road worthy. Plus it's red... Our family hasn't had luck with red cars in the past, especially with deer... And I'm also making FurFright still happen by god! Though I'm not trusting the Neon with this task, and it wasn't quite a sure thing that it'd be ready in time SO, I'm gonna be trying this train thing. Never done it before, but how hard can it be? Certainly can't be as much a pain in the ass as flying is these days. And if anything goes wrong at least I'm not plummeting from the sky. Plus with as many figurative train wrecks I've survived, why not try a real one for a change?

So immediate concerns are being handled well. This house thing still has me on edge, but you know what? My grandmother wont be running around here worrying about everything she sees that she doesn't like anymore, I wont be laying in bed worrying if I'll have to run downstairs should something happen to her, and my sister is moving out. It's actually gonna be goddamn quiet and peaceful around here again. The money will still be a concern, but that's a crap ton of stress that's gonna be gone, and I actually might like being home for the first time in I don't know how long.

So yeah, keep your damn lemons life.

I could go into a long post, but who likes those? I'll just get to the point. All the sudden my grandmother is going off to a nursing home. The house will be signed over to my mother who is the only person that can legally have it signed to, so it will be her and I running this place now. The catch? We barely have enough money for food now. And the house needs a roof. And the wells aren't working right. And we have to keep the place for at least five years if we want to sell it ourselves or the nursing home gets all the money. So yeah, wasn't thrilled about that, but I think it can be done.

Next was the night I was driving into work. Goin along 55 like I do, being annoyed by the truck behind me, all the sudden a deer. Yes I drive a big car, but with no chance to slow down for the impact even mine took heavy damage. At first I was alright with this. The side that took the hit still had the front facing turning signal and the low beam not only survived but also went into high beam mode too, things just looked like hell. Then the next night, the steam came. The impact was just enough to push my radiator into the fan shroud and cause two small holes. So yeah, I had to buy a new radiator, but hey, I was still going to FurFright!

Well that's where we are now. My car said fuck this shit and now the transmission is fucked up. My mechanic, who I do indeed trust, says its not worth fixing, and just as well since I don't have enough for a transmission job anyway. So now I have to pull all sorts of tricks just to get to work and back until something gets figured out. And if I can't figure anything out by the 23rd, FurFright, the only thing that I've been really looking forward to this whole cured year, might not even happen for me cause I can't get a ride.

I don't even know where I'm finding the will power to wake up at this point...

Well here it is, damn near exactly four weeks away till it all starts for me. I've been kinda quiet on things, but I sure as hell need something like this with the year I've been having. Though unfortunately there's a chance this could be my last time there for a good long while so that makes me very very sad... So who's all going to be there anyway? Who am I gonna run into that's gonna make this the best time yet?

I don't really know. I'm just gonna show up, wonder around till I get caught up in something fun and then roll with it.

So the downtime here kinda pushed this back a little bit, but better late than never. Since FurFright is coming up I thought I'd try and do something fun not just for myself but for someone else too. Basically wondering if there was anyone out there that would wanna fight Tanek, or even Gren since he doesn't get as much love other than from my own brain. All you gotta do is pick who you're fighting and show me who you got, and maybe something to go with it so I can get an idea of where things would go, then I'll just wonder around like a zombie till at the con till I find an artist I like to draw it up. Now I'm gonna put this out in the open so you have no excuse:

So I've been drinking tonight. A lot. and realized just how open I can be when I do so. I think the next time this happens might just been wednesday night.
