Let's Bring Back Furry Code! - Part Two
Posted 14 years agoSo, my last journal has me thinking about, no - obsessing over, Furry Code and how much I'd like to see it make a comeback. I think I've made my decision to make it my pet project to reboot the whole thing. I plan on making a Revised Furry Code bit by bit, as attempting to make a full release would take me quite some time and might drain me mentally. A few of the reasons that I think the Code could use some brushing up are as follows:
*Type of furry (fursuiter, lifestyler, fanboy/girl) is absent from the Code
*List of species is fairly limited and needs to be expanded upon
*There is nothing in place for hybrid furs or an "other" option
*Certain parts of the Code are either outdated or too specific, if not both
*Etc.
My goals for the update as a whole include:
*Expanding the Code to include everything that applies to the furry fandom
*Making the code more efficient and easy to read
*Removing obsolete portions of the Code
*Making the code as compact as possible
*Etc.
Right now, I'm making an effort to make the code shorter (instead of using X+++, it would be 3X), although this is just one of many changes in the works. I plan to launch the first part of Beta Revised Furry Code by the end of February. The first part will be similar to Furry Code 1.3, but with shorter code and perhaps some changes to specific subjects within the code. Stay tuned and show your support by tossing your code onto your profile.

Let's Bring Back Furry Code!
Posted 14 years agoMost of you older furs ought to know what I mean when I suggest bringing the Code back. I mean, sure, Furry Code was last updated in 1998, but that doesn't mean it's lost its place in the furry fandom culture. Imagine bringing something once integral to the community in the Internet's infancy back, but also finding a way to make it better for younger furs to enjoy. Hell, if I ever found the time to make it into a pet project, I'd like to modernize the whole thing. In the meantime, we'll have to make due with the current model. Here is mine:
FC[Tanuki]m3adrw/CFm3adrw> A> C-> D> H++> M- P> R T+++ W--> Z-> Sm+> RL-> a- c+?> d? e> f+> h+> i++> j+> p+++> sm+>
So, tell your fellow furs to post their Code on their profile page.
