sooooooo, long time no see? heh
General | Posted 4 years agoyeah, I know you guys (or, those of you that'll read this) have heard this before...
"I'll start posting again!" and "I need to be more active here"
well.... a lot has been going on in my life that's let me forget about these sites (FA, DA, and such)
1. I've moved mostly to telegram (a messaging site, like messenger, with a little bit of a discord vibe) I have an art chat on there (https://t.me/TattasRatNest) and most of my commissions come from there. soooo I tend to not have much of a reason to remember DA and FA exist ^^;
2. with my full time job (still working at Hobby Lobby) I tend to get caught up in real life stuff... you know, standing.... cutting fabric.... more standing.... getting yelled at by rude customers etc
3. (the BIGGEST news) I GOT PREGNANT!!! yes,
tikes-tastic are having a kid (as of typing this, I'm due to have him any day~ yes, it's a boy~) so THAT has taken a bit of a president over my time, and will continue to do so from here on out. this came as a big surprise to us, as I was told by 3 Dr.s that the possibility of getting pregnant (let alone carrying the baby to term) would be near impossible~ but I guess God had other plans ^^
"what's the point of this update" you ask? well.... I DO plan on trying to remember to post... as I now have a heavy buffer of art (from my.... YEAR of inactivity ) while I won't be posting my stream times here anymore (it's just too much for me to remember, between all the social media I use....) BUT if you watch me on twitch, or picarto, then you will get notified then~ (I'm "TattaDoodles" on both streaming sites by the way)
my plan is to try and remember to post 3 pics every week. not a lot, I know, but I have to start (again) somewhere~

General | Posted 6 years agoso, we got a call today from the family, saying that things were looking bleak, and that on friday (this coming friday) they were going to unhook her from the life support machines....
so tikes and I got ready to head back out to ohio to be there for the family....
but just after we got back from work today, tikes got another call.....
she's gone...
the family is holding out as best they can, but, this is just going to be a hard time for everyone... we'll get through this though... it's not as though we never thought this would happen...

so tikes and I got ready to head back out to ohio to be there for the family....

so, since my last journal on the subject, things have been a bit of a roller coaster......
she's show signs of improvement, then her heart would spasm and she was put in a coma (intentionally), then she'd recover a bit, they'd bring her out and she would look OK... even recognizing people and communicating (the best way she could, with all the junk they put down her throat)
but then one side of her heart stopped working and they had to try and get it to work.... and now BOTH sides aren't working....
she's on life support now, and they have ONE more thing they're going to try..... but if THAT fails............. then the family has an important decision to make....
because of this, we'll be headed back to ohio within the week (hoping to leave wednesday, but might leave on thursday)
we'll be gone for a while.... a week, maybe more....
this means that, while I WILL have some means to draw (I will have my art tablet, and I may bring my copics) that I won't be able to stream....so... if you want a commission (or already have one that you're waiting on) there may be a bit of a wait.

General | Posted 6 years agoSo tikes-tastic's mom had an infection in her chest, and after all the tests they figured out that she¡ll need open heart surgery to fix it
so this means we need to go be there for her....
but we can't afford a 700 dollar plane ticket
and the surgery will probably be either friday, or saturday, so we can't work up the money that fast.....
SOOOOOOOOOO we're driving nonstop from texas, to ohio...... oh boy....
we SHOULD be back sunday, and I can try to stream... but I'm betting I'll just wanna pass out by that time... so if you don't hear from me, you know why.....

So we made it there and back safe (it was like, an 18-19 hour drive non-stop, and I drove a good 13-14 hours of it, both ways)
We would have liked to stay longer (since they had to wait to do the surgery til this morning... but we used up all our PPTO (personal paid time off) and had to dip into our vacation time....
As of right now she’s in surgery... I won’t go into A LOT of detail.... but they found an infection in a valve they put in her heart, and have to take it out, clean out the infection, and then replace the valve... made all the more risky since this is apparently her THIRD heart surgery... the doc didn’t sugar coat anything, and told us how hard this was going to be....
Tikes and I are waiting by the phone to hear back any word on it
good vibes, warm wishes, and ESPECIALLY prayers are all still welcome for tikes' mom and family

I AM taking and drawing more mature art, and I even occasionally take NSFW pin-up commissions.... I limit them of course... there are a lot of things I won’t draw.
But my question for you guys is.... where should I post them?
I was debating on if I should either:
1. Post them here, and just tag them
2. Post them here, but tag them and put them in scraps
Or 3. Make an alternate mature account.....
There are pros and cons to both keeping them here, or putting them on another account...
Keep em here pros:
People already know my username
I have established watchers here (less than my old account, but eh)

I may get more creepers on this account, a problem I really hated with my old one

on the 30th I'll post a journal saying "trick or treat: jack o lanturn's ON" and I'll be open for 20 chest-up bust sketches
these will be ONLY for those that say "trick or treat, take a seat, tatta draw me something neat!" then post your ref and an expression you want to use (if no expression is given in the comment you will just be drawn smiling)
if you don't say that (the whole thing, not just "trick or treat", but just post a ref, you will be ignored!..................... and also eaten by halloween ghosts... they hate it when people aren't in the SPIRIT of halloween and don't follow the rules

Sooooo about the streams I've been doing...
General | Posted 8 years agoFor several weeks I've been streaming on joinme.... but I notice that I haven't seen anyone specifically from FA (there are two people that come that have accounts here, but they're mainly from DA, so I don't count them as FA visits)
Is it because of the times of the stream? Saturday at 9.... if that's the case, I will be doing a second weekly stream on wednesday in the afternoon (time is still undecided)
Is it because I don't give you all enough notice? (I usually post the journal about it just as I'm beginning the stream, then delete it right after)
It's not even about getting commissions as much as it is that I'd like to see some new faces (in addition to the 6 or so that usually join) and making new friends is fun!
So.... friends and watchers here on FA... would you please let me know how I can make it easier for you to come and join the stream ^^

for the few of you that were here with me during my last JOINME session , but didn't get let in.......... I am SO sorry that happened... there was an email a while back letting me know about the change from multiple people being able to attend sessions, down to just 3 (2 technically, since joinme counts the host as one of the participants)
and the only way to allow more people to join is to get joinme pro.
now, I TECHNICALLY have other (free) options............ but I've looked into them, and well...... even the simplest ones require some technical knowledge.... that was the reason I got joinme in the first place........ cause to use it, all I needed to do was download the computer app.......... and that was it.... it was self contained.... I didn't need a secondary app.... and it's super simple to use........ all I do is click the icon, hit "stream my screen" (or something like that) and copy the link......... that's it........
any of the other options I've seen require me to download their program, PLUS a streaming program like OBS, which for the life of me, I can never get working.... (even TIKES tried to help me and we couldn't get it......)
to be honest, I think that if I have to pay joinme for a subscription, as long as I do a stream every week, and try to get more paying commissions, then I can afford to keep it up.........
so I'll be starting every saturday starting at 9 PM that I am able (barring if I'm sick, or out of town for something) meaning that as soon as I finish this journal, I'm off to buy a joinme sub, then I'll be going live after that. I'll have the link up as soon I it's ready! ^^ see you there

didn't get a chance to get a dealer's den table (like last year) which is both a good and bad thing...
good, cause with all the hubbub going on this year, I would have never had the time to make more ears for stock, in time for the con....
bad, cause if I make it into the artist alley, I usually onky make 300-800 dollars (would be more if I drew porn, I know, but I'm a clean artist, so oh well) but when I'm in the dealer's den I made 1,600ish dollars ...... big difference
I won't have as much stuff to offer, but I'll be able to keep it simple then...
I'll be bringing my copic markers, paper, pencils, and maaaaybe my watercolors (if that's something people want, then I can have some examples ready) and I'll be bringing my t-shirt designs as well.
