I burnt my beans....
Posted 15 years agoI made fajitas last night and I put some refried beans in a pot to warm up and....
they got burnt :<
Like wtf.
Normally I'm a really good cook, and this ain't even nothing but throwing them in a pot already cooked, just to heat up and make all yummy and steamy. So wtf. This is the second time consecutively I've done this. What it is is that I turn the heat up high just to jumpstart them, then I turn low to simmer. But I forgot to turn it low after only a few seconds v_v; So now I'm dealing with burnt beans. This is so not fair.
Also, this has been happening at work, too >_> I'm putting rolls in the oven, and when the timer goes, I'll take out what looks done, and see that some of the other bread is a bit too light still, so I think "Oh, just a few more minutes. Long enough for me to put this Italian bread out on the shelves and when I come back, it'll be done, and I'll take it out and etc etc etc."
But then I'll completely forget by the time I get back to my oven, and I'll start working on something else and then by the time I REMEMBER I HAD SOME GODDAMN ROLLS IN THE OVEN.... it's too late ;~; Wtf is wrong with me lately, I never really did this at all. Only in the past week or two.
This does not bode well. Am I going senile? Seriously?

So yes, I'm gonna start another cheap SKETCH-A-THON to help keep me afloat, ladies and gents. Same as last time, $7 per person (including if they're in the same picture) and even this time, I can do chibis for only $5! Chibis and heads/busts for just $5, that's a price cut right there :3
Keep in mind if anyone wants to buy a full colored commish from me, you still can. It may take a bit longer to finish due to all the sketches I may (or may not lol) get, but I can still accept them (and would gladly!).
So if anyone is interested, please note me! Also, I understand if you'd like to help but can't (we're all struggling in this economy, brutha), in which case please actually help me out by advertising the shit out of this. It would be much appreciated!

Me: I personally like twilight the most. Late afternoon, when the sun's going down, and a bit afterward. It's the best ^^

2. What is your favorite pastime?:
Me: I like to do too much *3* Draw, sing, cook, drive, listen to music, groove, read, learn.... etc.
Luna: Hunting. In more ways than one *sly grin* I also cook.
3. Are you a drinker?:
Me: On occasion. I like only some kinds of alcohol, and I don't drink much because I have NO tolerance whatsoever. I'd rather not get blasted out of my mind :p
Luna: I'd rather not as well. I don't touch the stuff at all.

Me: Again, on occasion. It's more of a social thing, and I would probably only have a drag or two. This happens maybe twice a year?

Sketch-a-thon thanks and UPDATES on my life~
Posted 15 years agoFirst and foremost thank you everyone who participated in my special Sketch-a-thon project :3 I had my court date yesterday morning and I am in the clear with the law, as well as legal to drive~ THANK YOU SO MUCH <3
In other news, last evening was my long-awaited Muse concert, at the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia ;D THEY SO FUCKING ROCKED. AHHHH MY GOD I WANT TO REWIND AND LIVE IT ALL OVER AGAIN. <3<3,3<3<3<3,3,3,33,#,3,3<3<3<3DMKJSNKDJFNKSJ. I took several camera phone pictures and even two mini-vids (which are probably ass quality lol) and bought a t-shirt for myself! Amaaaaazziiing *3* I am seriously happy to have seen them, probably my best ever birthday present was those tickets. <3
Lastly, and this is quite a damper on things. My cat Rukia ran away again -__- She ran away once, was gone for almost 2 years before I found her and brought her home again (this was October '09). But now she's taken off again *sigh* I hope it doesn't take another 2 years to being her back :\ I need suggestions, or at least to put a bigger effort in bring her back again.
Wish me luck ; ; I don't need to go through this all again ;o;

Issues. Commissions?

My bank is retarded.
Actually, I don't know what or why it happened, or WHAT exactly is retarded about my bank, but something messed up happened. Now I'm screwed over... hugely. That is, unless I find a way to make a quick 250 - 300 dollars TODAY. Or in the next couple of days...
I hate banks -__- I reeeeaally do. Banks and checking accounts and online statements. Since I've gotten this checking account, my online statement as ALWAYS been accurate. Always. As soon as I've used my card, it shows up online. Maybe not as fully processed, but at least as a "pending transaction."
So what went wrong?
Well, last Saturday, I made a purchase, and then it didn't even show up until Monday evening. Which lead me to believe that on Monday afternoon when I checked my statement, I still had some money to spend on groceries.
This inaccuracy screwed me over majorly -__- Transactions were made, and now fees are being processed for each of those goddamn uses. It puts me over a hundred and fifty dollars down, plus my rent is due by the 5th of Oct, of which I still need 300 dollars for.
How did things get soooo completely screwed up? x_x I tried talking to my bank, and they just gave me the runaround. I have to go back and try to talk to the manager, but it's still doubtful that they'll reimburse me the fees, if any of them at all.
Uuhh aaah *ahem* Sorry about the huge baw-fest. But uuum yeah that's my situation ^^; Thanks for listening everyone. Now does anyone want a commish from me? *half-hearted laugh*
Pre-paid would be the only thing that helps right now, and I'm willing to do anything. Seriously, nothing is sacred. I can work with anyone willing to pay anything, I'm mostly a 10 dollar lineart sketch to a 15 or 20 dollar full-bodied cg kind of girl. I can even do like 5 dollar busts or faces or something.

Posted 16 years agoI have been indisposed for a while, in case anyone noticed.
But I'm back now!
So the things I've been doing - I had a guest (friend from Canada), I had a borked laptop, I've been working, I played Shadow of the Colossus several times, and then played a few new downloaded songs on Rock Band.
Fun times.
Oh, the other week something horrible happened while I was driving. (This may give you a hint on how seriously weird, pathetic, and messed up I actually am). I was really upset, I actually almost started crying, and I was really torn up over this for quite a few moments. It still bugs me when I think about it.
I was driving back from the airport, and when I got close to home, I was coming down fast on a road that was 45 mph (that means I was doing about 55 - 60). There were these two big, beautiful butterflies, not monarchs, but... um - http://bugguide.net/node/view/283640/bgimage - Tiger Swallowtail, I think? I'm pretty sure that's what they were.... Anyway, the two of them were dancing together, probably a mating flight, and it was so wonderful and adorable and just... majestic. Butterflies are truly one of nature's works of art.
I had about half a second before these butterflies danced right in front of my car window and were brutally swept over it by the rush of wind -__-
Like, I really don't know why I was so upset over this, or why I still definitely think it's an utter shame. But I was really distraught about it. I kind of squealed, wishing I could have swerved or slammed on my brakes or something, but that would've been ridiculous. I didn't want to get into an accident.... but when I looked in my rear view mirror, I noticed one of them dropping to the ground, and I felt so damn horrible.
I turned around further up the street, and drove back to look for the little guy. (Yeah, like what could I have done, seriously?) I saw him, but there was no place to pull to the side of the road, so I went a little further up and turned around again. This time, on the way back, I didn't see him.
My hope lifted a little bit, and I began to think that maybe he was just stunned, and got up and flew away afterward.
But who knows...
It's the law of nature, I know. These things happen. But it's still a goddamn shame that something so beautiful, natural, and practically miraculous is disrupted by stupid humans and their fast cars.
Jesus christ, I am so glad I've never actually hit an animal in the road KNOCK ON WOOD. Imagine the mess I'd be then :\
But I'm back now!

I've gotten another commission! The same friend has contacted me with an idea for a beautiful image, and I will work my hardest to make sure I do it nicely!
Just so everyone else knows (if anyone is at all interested) I do these commissions for 15 US dollars, sometimes 20 if a lot of detail is involved (not-so-simple backgrounds or different versions of the same image, multiple characters etc). Email me or contact me on Yahoo - deathslittledoor[at]yahoo.com - with (this is very important) the title of "Commission Info" or something along those lines.
Maybe I'll set up a sample info sheet, like what USED to work here on FA (or so it seemed...)
