My main account is Featherflight and I'm currently rearranging all my shit since I just got my accounts back and are basically rebuilding from scratch. XP

Been a little while since I've been active here!
I'm currently open for a new type of commission: Experimental Lineless Doodles!
I'm practicing with a new lineless style, to hopefully be used in the future when I finally get around to illustrating a children's book I'm working on. In order to stay consistent in the style, I need to continue working and tweaking on it to get comfortable simplifying my toony style. Therefore, I'm open for commissions in this style, to give me more practice on characters that are not my own; as I'm far too comfortable with my own character and need to branch out of that comfort zone :)
I call them "experimental" because I'm still tweaking the style a little bit and I may not be completely consistent from piece to piece. BUT, I feel like I'm getting it down pretty well, and have some examples of what to expect here:

SIGNAL BOOST - PARVO PUPPY NEEDS HELP

Bourbon. is selling a lot of adopts (and taking donations) towards the care of her puppy which has recently been diagnosed with parvo. She has included some photos of the vet bill as well as medications dispensed for those who care - but the puppy still is not well and his best option right now is to be hospitalized so the veterinary staff can help him work through the virus (there is no cure to parvo and animals are treated symptomatically and given fluid therapy while the virus runs its course).I urge any who can/are willing to help to check out this journal: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/8686159/
It really breaks my heart to see puppies catch this virus. It's REALLY rough on them, and can be extremely costly to the owner (the last parvo case we treated at my vet office ran a bill of over $1,000). I'd be delighted to see this little guy pull through!
Next opening for icons may be delayed
Posted 7 years agoI just want to warn everyone that my next opening for Monster Hunter icons may be a bit delayed.
I originally intended to open for another round of 10 icons.. I think I took 6 before closing due to some unforeseen life stress.
I work a full time job in addition to art (as a vet tech at an animal hospital), and our work schedule has been completely out of whack since the practice owner suddenly ended up in the hospital. We're all working long hours and having crazy days because we are short-staffed without our second veterinarian to help see patients. It's been a bit nuts.
I am trying extremely hard to be the type of artist that I've always looked up to. I want to keep in contact with my commissioners, and I want to deliver my art in a timely manner. Unfortunately, I feel that if I continue taking commissions at this point in time, I will be unable to live up to that standard because there is simply too much going on in my life right now. I don't want to make people wait, because I'm unable to give an accurate guesstimate on when I will be able to work on things.
So, until life calms down and I can feel confident that I have the time to dedicate to art again, I will be closed for a small while. This is certainly not a forever thing! Just until life gets a little more manageable and I can assure that I can stay on track on still delivering art with a fairly quick turn-around time.
My queue currently only has 2 icons left on it, and those are getting completed this weekend while I have off, so no worries if you are waiting on art! I want everything done so that I can feel okay with the small break (ie. no one waiting on art while I am busy being stressed about life!).
ALSO, I have a couple of other ideas for commissions I may practice on in my down-time, once my queue is cleared and work stops being so busy! So when I prepare to open again, I may have a couple more options on there for commission types! Huzzah! So at least there is that to look forward to! C:
Thank you everyone, for being so understanding; and my sincerest apologies to anyone who was looking to grab a slot in the near future. I promise I will open back up again as soon as I am able, and will announce it here when that happens!

I am only opening for 10 this round! These will be completed over the course of the next couple of weeks, and I will open for more when this round has been completed!
Price is $15 each. You CAN order more than one, but will need to fill out the google form for each commission piece you want. (sorry!)
I will send a Paypal invoice to your listed Paypal address after contacting you about the commission :) If you are submitting for multiple commissions, I will combine them on the invoice so you are not getting invoiced multiple times.
I'm hoping this method will streamline everything and make it easier on both your end and mine!

These come as 500x500 pixel pieces, and I also send a 100x100 pixel sized version for use as an FA avatar (Can be used on other sites as well, which take that size). These can be used anywhere! I actually currently have mine as my PSN avatar, so people can see that I'm addicted to the new Monster Hunter World game ;P
These will be stylized to look like the monster icons used in game. Examples can be seen here:

Posted 8 years agoUgh! Finally gave my page a much needed update. Most of the information was wrong, lol. A lot has changed since I originally wrote it.
I check in almost daily here, but often forget to do journal or upload art. My bad. Been busy with life changes and such.. living in PA full time, finally got a job up here, getting married now, etc. Hopefully things will settle down and I'll get better about posting stuff. :>

• What is the name of your fursona?
Albi Gryph
• Where did the name of your Fursona come from?
Well, her name actually came from my "online alias", which is also "Albi". I got that name from hanging around online in the early years of AOL and online chat and game rooms. I had this beautiful image of an albino gryphon in mind for a story I wanted to write, and tried to use the name "albinogryphon" as a log in which.. was obviously taken. So I smashed the two words together into "albigryph" instead and ended up using that as an online name for the longest time. Chatting with strangers online ended up shorting the name to "Albi" as a quick-call nickname and it stuck. :3
• What species is your fursona and why did you choose that species?
Albi is a gryphon.. a Rainbow Wing Gryphon, to be exact; which is a species I designed nearly 15 years ago? It's been a whiiiile. I didn't always identify with my gryphons.. I used to draw myself as some sort of canine, be a wolf or fox or dog-like creature.. eventually I got a little birdy, as a "Caniph", a bird/fox species I'd designed. But in the end I just felt most comfortable with the Gryphons I had spent so much time dreaming and writing about.. so I went full gryph in late 2014.
• What color is your fursona and why? Hair/fur/eye/ect
She's mostly white.. pretty much all white except for her wings, which are rainbow colored (hence her species name). I've always been attracted to the color white.. it's just so pristine and pretty, and sort of enchanting in a way. Her paw pads are pink and her eyes are blue only because those colors are typical of white-furred animals. Guess I wanted to keep some realism to her, despite the fact she's a creature of fantasy.
• What is your fursona's personality and how does this compare to your RL personality?
Albi is pretty close to myself. She's a little bit goofier, and a little bit more fearless than I am... Unlike myself, she doesn't really suffer from social anxiety and will pretty much talk to anyone. Always peppy and happy, always jabbering on about something. Super excitable. She's basically me on a "good" day with close, trusted friends. :3
• What is one item your fursona owns that is significant to you in RL?
Nothing? I.. only have a few items that are really treasured, and Albi doesn't have any of them. She doesn't really carry around stuff with her.
• What is one thing you think you would say to your fursona if you could meet?

A year? I'm not really sure. It hasn't been that long.
• Would you like to be more like your fursona?
Absolutely. She's basically the me that I wish I could be.. no social anxiety, a little more willing to talk to people and try new things. The better version of me that I'm not sure I could ever actually achieve.

It was my very first furry convention, and it was absolute amazing. Seriously, words cannot describe the magic that happened there.
It all started on Wednesday night when I drove up to RenardThatch's place to spend the night. Fawnlace had picked up Danni3120 and driven up also, so we all spent the night and then Thursday morning we were off to Pittsburg!
The drive was long, but still fun. We did a lot of joking around in the car. Once we got closer to our destination, we ended up finding a lot of furries on the road with us! I saw Shiacoft's car, and waved like a madman as we passed in the tolls! And then there was someone else I found with the license plate "BigFox", which I thought was hilarious since Renardthatch's plate has "fox" in it as well. fawnlace made the joke that I was getting "foxed" since my car happened to be inbetween both of the fox plated cars, lol.
I got to meet up with my suit maker Temperance on Thursday evening, as she installed a fan in my head for me. That fan makes suiting 110% better, let me tell you! The difference is amazing! And she was SO very nice! UGH. I love her. I'm so glad I went with her for my suit maker <3 I gave her a couple of little gifts when I saw her as a thank you - a badge I made (and forgot to take pictures of, yikes!) and a cute little mouse pin cushion with a tape measurer in the tail. She apparently used the mouse later on in the week, so that pleased me that it came in handy!
I did a LOT of suiting on Friday! I suited up at about 10:30am and I think I got out of suit about 6pm. It was the first time I suited up for such a length of time, but it was so much fun I didn't want to get out of suit! I tried to make it to Sheppymomma's dance thing, but I couldn't remember where we were supposed to meet and ended up missing it. But I DID make it to temperance's photoshoot, which was fun. I got to meet up with ManiacalMuffins and l0st there during the shoot. I was so glad I got to know both of them. Lyu is the suit that really drew me into Temperance's style, and L0st is what hit home for me that Temp would be perfect. I saw his fursuit head on her DA and immediately knew she'd do a beautiful job on Albi.
I hung around afterwords because one of my wings got a little floppy that morning, and Temperance took me back to the headless lounge to try and help fix it up. She ended up using her paw print badge ribbon (the ones being given out for doing the survey) in an attempt to Mc Guyver my harness back into shape. Unfortunately, it didn't hold up the way we'd hoped. I ended up getting interviewed by someone for a local news website while waiting for Temp after the photoshoot, so that was pretty exciting! Saturday morning I woke up early and ran to the local CVS to buy some bandage material for my bum wing. As for-mentioned, Friday my harness started to fail and it resulted in my right wing slumping down. So, to play off the problem (since I couldn't fix it), I decided to "break" my wing by bandaging it up and walking around with a bag of markers so people could sign the bandages. I wandered around for a bit before joining a bunch of birds for the fursuit parade. It was a lot of fun standing at the front of the line and calling out to all the birds that walked by to get them to come join us. I met sawblade5's there, in his Victor Redtail suit, and met a bunch of other birds that I haven't yet tracked down on FA, yet. We were front of the line for the group picture, which was awesome!
The parade was.. gosh.. I can't even think about it without tearing up. Uncle Kage had mentioned that they were taking the parade outside and that people were out there waiting.. but I honestly sort of thought it was a ploy of some sort.. bribe us outside with the idea that there's a crowd out there. I was planning on staying in because I didn't know how I'd do in the heat, seeing as it was only the 2nd time I'd been out in my suit for long periods, but when we got to the inside-outside split, Victor said "We're going out!" and out we went. I was afraid of losing the group of birds, so I just followed along. And I'm so glad I did. It was AMAZING. I cried. I literally cried. And I'm so happy that I was in suit so no one could see my ugly cry face. It was actually hard to "smile" in suit (I tend to "smile" for photos by opening my mouth a little) because of all the ugly faces I was making inside, trying not to bawl. It was just so beautiful and touching to see that many people gather to see and celebrate us. It was WAY more than I expected, and it was an amazing first fursuit parade. It amazed me how many people recognized me, too! I heard some people shout my name in the crowd inside the convention center as we all walked through. However, I couldn't see who those people were. I distinctly heard someone say "It's a Rainbow Wing Gryphon", or something of the sort, and it made me so happy. I don't know if they said because they know that's my actual species, or if it was just how they were describing me, but it filled me with joy, regardless.
After the parade, the rest of the birds and I gathered for a quick photo shoot and then I headed out to the Dealer's Den to see some of the stuff in there before it closed. Danni3120 found me in there, so we wandered around together buying all of the things. I got a lot of really nice prints and some super cute sculpted statues. There were a couple of stands that I was hoping to find and missed, but that's okay. I ran out of money, anyway, lol!
Sunday I suited up and wandered back to the Dealer's Den/Artists Alley to pick up some things and spend the rest of my money. I also continued with my quest of getting my wing signed by random people. :3 I'm keeping the bandage as a souvenir.
I then went and checked out the group fursuit games. Despite having two floppy wings at that point, I joined in and was assigned to the orange team. We ended up winning the games with a total of 30 points by the end of it! The games were seriously fun, even though the musical chairs round was a little scary. I had Danni take my wings off for that one, because I was afraid of them getting broken in all the craziness. I seriously can't wait for someone to post videos of the games. Despite being in them, I don't know what happened around me half the time, lmao. I was so focused on playing that I didn't watch everyone else (plus it's hard to see everything in your fursuit head). So that should be interesting to watch!
I met so many amazing artists at the con, too. Birdfox found me, which I was so happy about because I somehow managed to keep passing her table without seeing her! Ack! PixelSunshine found me too, which was also amazing because I TOTALLY FORGOT about meeting her in the Zoo Thursday night after I got my fan installed by Temperance! I was super surprised when Guyver47 came up to me outside at Friday's photo shoot. It was amazing that she recognized me, considering I commissioned my badge from her back in 2007! <3 Crazdude found me too, down in the Artist's Alley, which was so funny! I totally didn't realize it was her at first, and then I saw her badges and her card and was like "I already watch you on DA!" lol. But it was great to meet her! I also so Spartadog in the Dealer's Den, too, and he caught up with me at Sunday's hangout in the Zoo.
Sunday night was a blast playing Joust, also! I'd never seen the game before but it was SO MUCH FUN. It really gets your adrenaline going! Renardthatch, Fringe and I played together during a fursuit only round and in the end Renard and I had a pretty awesome stand-off before I finally won the round.
All in all, Anthrocon was the absolute best first furcon experience I could've ever had. I had SO much fun and cried so many times at the sheer beauty of everything. I had an amazing time rooming with Renardthatch, fringe and Veux. It was a great experience being in a room full of suiters, and we caused a lot of harmless mischief over our days together, including Velux breaking an elevator and teaching Renard why a fox should never fall asleep first when rooming with birds. I also had a lot of fun hanging with Fawnlace and danni3120 during the con.
It was just. Ugh. Magical. And I can't wait for it to happen again next year.

These were sent to me to show me the finished suit before she sent it off in the mail <3 But it shows some of the details that the other pictures do not, like the feet paws and tail and whatnot.
Also, the tracking on my package says delivery should be tomorrow! It made it through US customs, yay! 8D So I'm hoping it'll actually arrive sometime tomorrow. I have off on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, so that would mean I'd have three days to suit around and get used to wearing her!

1.) Despite being an avian/feline, Albi has much more fascination for water than she does with the sky or land. Whether it's a stream, lake, waterfall, ocean, or even just a little fountain, she can sit and watch it for hours.
2.) Her name "Albi" is derived from the word "Albino", but Albi is in fact not albino at all. She's leucistic!
3.) Much like a bird, she's obsessed with everything feathery, shiny, brightly colored, and noisy.
4.) Much like a cat, she's obsessed with everything fluffy, soft, jingly, dangly, and noisy.
5.) She's pretty obnoxious, overall.
6.) Albi has a love of fish. But not for eating them! If she could cuddle them, she would! The bigger the fish, the better! Koi are round and adorable, but odd fish such as the loach are loved too. Her favorite fish is a lumpy loach dubbed "Gyarados".
7.) Though often argued that Albi should be defined as an "Opinicus" due to baring feline front legs instead of a bird's talons, she identifies as a Gryphon. The technical definition of an Opinicus is a "gryphon-like creature with a short tail; most often the tail of a camel." Opinicus' also will sometimes have an elongated neck. Gryphons, by definition are "half eagle, half lion", most notably with the eagle's head and lion's back-end. Because Albi is purely bird and feline (with a long lion-like tail), she sticks to "Gryphon". However, for the sake of proper labeling, she is commonly referred to as an "Opinicus-type Gryphon" thanks to her lion-like front paws.
8.) While female Rainbow Wing Gryphons tend to be much larger than their male counterparts, Albi has managed to stay particularly petite. While tall, she does not have the usual muscular bulk that the other females of her kind sport, and instead has a lean build.
9.) Albi is usually drawn as "quad" or "feral", but she does have an anthro form. However, her anthro form is not cannon to her story-line or history (or the Rainbow Wing Species in general) and is only used for personal purposes.

I have a large scar on my right forearm that is from a cat bite.. 4 distinct holes from the canines, and some lines inbetween where the cat held on for dear life as I pulled them off of me. He seemed really nice before he tried to eat my arm :C
2. WHAT IS ON THE WALLS IN YOUR ROOM?
Not a whole lot. Half of my walls are concrete so I can't hang anything up -_- My other walls are covered in cute animal frames that will be filled with pictures of my dog and cats as soon as I get some pictures printed out. I do have my watercolor commission from Akreon hanging up.
