Posted 9 years agoI am a really bad pencil in hand artist.. but today I made an attempt.. I'll put it up later if I remember to. :D
But I'm back after the 'instance' and letting you know my accounts are secured again.

Pulling My Work Down.
Posted 15 years agoIn light of the explosion on the forum, which was entirely expected - but lacked official say so from the obvious devs - and not those who didn't have a title or a big mouth.....
and in light of Jamie's entire gallery unloaded after following an FA Moderators work - who went and saw his things decided all of his stuff was against TOS -
I'm leaving FA. It was a site that I hoped would host where I could be creative and explore my SL Photography to help me hone my eye, my post processing talents, and my graphics art skills having to do with Photography when I can't get out in RL to take shots, and to help me work on my composition through the total control of the SL Tools.
Yes, Some people actually use Second Life for more than just a hole to have sex in - they utilize it in a more intelligent way, like for Second Life Photography, which is just as much photography as any other type of photography and IS a real and growing art form. Expand your mind as to what photography REALLY is - and stop pigeonholing everything in your life if you can't grasp that simple concept. ALL Photography as it started out, was Unnatural and they had one hell of a time getting it accepted as art in the first place. Don't hinder the field by being small minded.
To all those who favorited my works and commented that you liked them - I'll have an area on my website (You should know how to find me. ;) )

3:30 AM
Posted 15 years agoI slept a lot yesterday, then wound up in bed last night. Woke up sometime around 3:30AM and have been sitting here waiting for Ushao to wake since. I'm hungry, but I don't want to make a ton of noise aside from typing (mainly because I'm wide awake and noone else is up at this hour usually. )
Worked on my website, planned out the categories, made a new logo. I'm still feeling like a big hole is opening up in my gut - soon a mouth will form with which to spout 'FEED ME' no doubt.
The sim is taking longer than expected to transfer - I'm so glad its sold off. I'm tired of being worried about it. I'm tired of worrying about a club, about the people.. about friends. I worry about a lot of things and I tend to complain about them more than I say "I'm worried about..."
Sorry for that. I have been trying to get better, but I know I am on the downshift a lot. It helps me deal with things and accept them for what they are with few exceptions to this generalization.
Well, back to waiting, and feeling like I"m going to wither away.

FA AUP/TOS Update - SL Photography? Where does it stand?
Posted 15 years agoI am saddened by the non-inclusion or at least, seemingly outlawed use of SL as a photographic means of artistic impression. therefore, as the first SL Photographer to stand up in the thread - I took things somewhat official and tried to define my position and where I was coming from, before asking that FA make some sort of allowance for SL being used as an artistic medium.
My post is here - http://forums.furaffinity.net/showt.....33#post1869833
my
It is VERY lengthy, and to the FA Staff I apologized. But I felt I needed to be as professionally grounded to get the point across that what I am asking for has true artistic value to the community. Please feel free to respond there if you like, or in my journal if you have something to say. I'm interested to hear what people have to say about my work - or if they consider it artistic at all in nature. I certainly do.. and I'd like to stay at FA and continue to post my artworks.

Engagement
Posted 15 years agoWell we got engaged today, about 10 hours ago, then slept the rest of the day away. But We actually have a date set this time, and I feel great about that. Its quickly approaching but hopefully I can pull things off. I don't know where we'll get the money together to pay for wedding things... I don't have a dress, I may have to scrape one together with thread, cement, and super glue.
I guess I should start getting all my homeworks done asap so I can start offering to do work for other people. Would anyone be intersted in hiring me? I don't want to ask anyone for money for the things we'll need but I'd love to try and earn it :)
If you want to know what I can do, you can read my last journal entry. :)
Ushao and I have had a long road to get to this point again.. and although its been 3 years in waiting to return to this point... I think our hearts are in a better place.
Feb 14, 2010 - We got reengaged.
1020-2010 - We hope to finally be wed.
Now to figure out a type of ceremony for us where we can include our son and bring our family together like it should be.
I realize its just a piece of paper, but sometimes... having that piece of paper can mean all the world...
This endeavor will require money, paperwork out the wazoo, name changes for two people, and a 4yo that cries because he really likes his name just the way it is. Maybe he will come around by the time the paperwork has to be filed.
Need to find a place to do it, someone to do it, and file for the license to do it.
Living in sin is so much easier! LOL
ah well, I am excited and I can't wait till we get there!

So, some of you might know what I do...
Posted 15 years agoBut a lot of other people probably don't have a clue
I have finally given myself a title. One of those "official but not official" titles that come with various jobs, the sort that helps explain what you are capable of producing on a level where it earns you a living.
To put it in simplistic terms... I am a Pixelist.
A Pixelist, is one who paints with pixels, edits pixels, works with pixels... on the itty bitty scale - all the way up to the massively huge scale. That's me. You mean, that is too broad for you? Alright, I can give you some examples of things I've done.
I've always taken images since way back when the intartoobz was new and there was no clogging going on... and edit them. Oh I have probably edited just about any kind of image for any kind of purpose online - for online regurge projects I've worked on. Websites, Forums, dabbling in the databases for those forums, changing the graphics, changing the display, tables, learning how to do tables, and nested tables from viewing and editing, tweaking like a madman type of work - learning the basics of how coding works for webpages from the verybasic HTML - which I still mainly write from scratch in editpad (Which I found, a little easier to work with than that fancy program everyone drools over, something to do with dreams.) At any rate, I have also edited artworks to work for roleplay characters, not to steal work but to give an impression of what the character MIGHT look like. I am a fairly good writer in this medium although I will admit - most people I know now.... have no idea. I don't RP In SL - mainly because I feel very limited. Where I feel unimited.. is in the open darkness of plain text - where it feels pitch black unless I write something into being, like a velvet canvas waiting for the oil paints to be spread across it like wildfire.
Back to being a pixelist, which also covers the realm of writing. Afterall - I am writing here, with pixels.. :D Now... take those years of experience, and apply them to an Engraving position I held for a number of years. I used to work on an air force base - explaining to people why they could not hande me a .75 inch printed out logo - to engrave it 3 inches wide on something. Now, I've always been good at displaying stuff - such as for windows or arrangements etc well in this job I was able to practice the art of arranging text against shapes like Logos, or images - and utilizing and honing my skills for white space and breathing room. - on with more graphics work and laying out images for sublimation processes, and another engraving job a few years later.
I've done this type of work since roughly 1996 when I first got my own computer - and began losing sleep to being online where I felt my soul soar and I beileve it was the first time, I was able to truly feel myself... where it was me - and my creativity. Now, I'm finishing up my 2yr in Digital Media - and I've learned some new tricks, added some programs to my arsenal - and I'm looking at needing another boost of about 600 bucks worth of programs I feel like I can't live without. Now, I'm able to start refining my photography and the post processing that images take and I've been having a blast.
I'm able to touch many realms of 'graphic design' so freely now - and while I may not be a master at any one thing - I'm very skilled in a vast area of things. And hey! I can even control a laser to burn something nifty into stuff if given the right equipment... anyone wanna buy me a 20 thousand dollar laser!? :D Cause I would SO totally have one if I had the cash to blow !!! I can get a desktop unit for 10K easy if 20K is out of your range. ;)
At any rate... I'm going to begin charging going rates for my skills for everything I do soon - and I came across this website. This is the entire reason for this post - and a lot of people think in SL that things should only cost 50 Linden or less. Well the linden dollar doesn't equal a real life dollar - but you guys and me included, get into this mentality when we're out shopping... "600 Linden!?!?!?! That's OUTRAGEOUS!
Or when people ask you to do something for them for free - now there is real need for "on the cheap' solutions to big costly problems but at the same time.... - well. You will see. If you've ever been a creator - or someone who's asked a creator to do something for you for free - because... they know you and should do it for free or nearly free - You'll benefit from this. :)

Entry Two: The .bkf
Posted 16 years agoI'm disappointed that I can't manage to get my .bkf file opened easily enough without some hunting around for a special program. The rest of my art is packed up tight in there... We did this in December after school let out so that I could install my new copy of Windows 7 - well now that I need things back out of it... like I dunno THE REST OF MY PHOTOS AND HOMEWORK AND EVERYTHING I'VE SAVED OVER THE LAST 10 YEARS.......
*sigh*
Well anyway, going to try again before setting into my homework. Ethics, I wasn't quite sure what to expect, and while its interesting and fun is also difficult for me to pinpoint my thoughts into making what I sort of feel are.. shortchanged points on a topic. I keep hitting the wall of "We're going to talk more about that next week" ...............
Is it that I'm just beyond thinking so narrowly, or that I'm incapable of it and want to encompass too much into how I view the world? (Rhetorical question here guys... Don't answer.)
Anyhow.. On to today's events!

Entry One: Brand New Year
Posted 16 years agoI have been part of the furry fandom since about 1998 sometime. I have lasted this long, but because I have recently made a freind or two WITH an FA account... I shall succumb and create a place for myself here. Why? Well why the hell not. Its a place where I can upload some junk and see if its something I'll stick with. Eh?! :D
I have a DeviantArt account but I only used it once a twice for ____some other place I'd rather not mention____. Mainly because it isn't worth it. Its the beginning of a new year - and I'd like to start off with something shiny and that's a new FA Account. So new, it's my very first one. :)
Now, what sort of art do I do!?
Well I could probably manage to draw you in doodle format - or possibly craptastic stick figures with a swoopy for a tail and arrow ups for ears or possibly eyes.... but I shan't curse you with such base forms of drawing. Instead i'll share with you some of the photography work I have completed within the great world known online as "That crappy second life thing people keep disappearing to."
No no, I don't copy the avatars and line draw them and color them in. In fact - I take some rather pretty pictures. I take some funny crappy quality ones too :D But its those that delve more into the realm of fine art - furry style... through the use of all the tools SL Provides to someone with a more photographic nature. I'll upload a few I've taken - and hopefully this year, I'll be able to take a whole lot more.
Do I edit them? yes - but not always... do I fix problems with the avatar? Sometimes... but not always. Sometimes, the avatar is better left alone - and sometimes I'll fix minor problems such as prim seams to help bring across the emotion or feel of the avatar or person/fursona that is beign portrayed. Touch ups...
My vow - well okay I'll just try real hard.. to remember to document the things I've done to the picture - and post it along with the image. So you can see what I did to it. Why? I dunno, glutton for punishment.
Now, I don't mind critiques - but keep in mind, I'm used to REAL critiques, not just shitty comments about how much you think it sucks compared to whoever you think is god.
If you don't have something serious to say and have good input - I don't care to hear it. You have a serious comment, WITH a good thought out suggestion - I'm willing to hear it.
Will I reply? I don't know. I tend to get wordy and quite frankly... I don't think there is much need to reply - unless you ask me something specific.
Do I plan to update often? no. Because I just know I won't. Spurts will probably be the way I utilize this.. although who knows. I might really enjoy using FA more than I did DA. We'll just have to see.
So journal entry one... what else have we to say?
Well I suppose I might post a little info about myself - for those interested in me for... who knows what possible reason they might have. I co-own a sim with my RL mate/partner/loveofmylife. We've been through some ups and downs - and currently we're trying to help keep our SL Community alive. Vashir is our home sim - and we and all our friends care about it greatly. Recently we've decided to do something kinda funky with it, and why not!? It's SL MAN! You can do anything in SL that you CAN'T do in RL - like, Live underwater! As much as we pretend we are one thing or another, we're pretending that the water does not actually go into the homes and or that you can breath under there if your that anal about it. Yes I too wish you could 'take out' space under water - but if you edit your water settings, or use some presets you can get some beautiful results. Same with the air settings. Very neat. :)
So lets see, Club Furvana... ahh what a slave driver. Well I've cut it off my plate - too much going on and last year was extremely tough trying to pull it all off, and now that we own the sim - the bigger picture of making sure the whole sim makes money, seems a lot more important. School started tonight, and RL is picking up around that too. Life is going full swing again and I just couldn't see stressing over the club for another year. I will miss caring for it in Badwolf's absence but its time I moved on, and hopefully those in replacement of my rather large pawprints will make it even better. :)
Welp! Without going on about the sim, and what is on offer there, or what we did in class tonight... or jabbering about photography stuffs - or what silly projects I'm working on, or what movies I am wanting to watch this week..... I'll end my journal here.
I have never used a service as much as I have used NetFlix - Thanks to them, I can fullfill my need of dry british humor and sitcoms. To quote one my all time favorite characters...
"FISH!"
All my love,
Teiko Moxie
P.S. New Years Resolution: Turn meals we normally make at home healthier - or try a brand new dish made at home. Once a month. January's Meal: Herbed Turkey Burgers with Sweet Potato Fries made from scratch at home. :)
