Commissions opening on May 17!!
Posted 5 months agoCOMMISSION INFO HERESaturday May 17, I will open for comms! I'll confirm you've been put on a waitlist where no payment will be made until I reach you in my queue. First-come-first-served. You can pull out of the queue and ask where your position is at any time. I don't have as much time to sit down and draw art as much as I used to, so a waitlist should be a good compromise to slowly work on art without having to close too quickly/frequently. Hopefully I'll be able to keep my commissions open much longer so I'll be able to get to everyone eventually! :3
There's also a new commission type - Illustration! They'll be like the Bunnybro Dungeoneering and Spare Day with Edwin artworks I've done, and I feel like I've gotten confident enough to offer it to anyone interested!
Thank you for your interest! <3
2025 Yearly Birthday Update! :D
Posted 9 months agoOoh lookie another year has gone by! *throws only a handful of confetti because I'm sick and don't want to clean up a big mess*
Sure is some way to celebrate a birthday, but I'm not the celebratory type so it truly doesn't matter much. I just came off of an exhausting work shift the night prior and I'm off today as of writing this, so I'm not complaining and recovering in bed nice and comfy with good food and warm drinks :3
Anyhoo, as with last year I couldn't be happier with the progress I've made as an artist. I made an Art Summary 2025 post here which you can read if you want. I have my thoughts about each piece I chose to represent their respective months, so feel free to read it. It's a long one, and my thoughts are mixed with self praise and criticisms. I mentioned in last year's update post that I wanted to start drawing backgrounds, and I have! Granted, they're almost all broken stone walls as they're my what I find comfortable drawing in creating an actually good result, but hey it's still a work in progress. The Octopath Traveler-style artwork is something I'm striving for and figuring out ways to make it (even more) uniquely my own. I did notice my art style has shifted a bit away from Yoji Shinkawa, and I guess that's going to continue now that I'm putting effort into studying backgrounds and different ways to paint. I do still want to do Shinkawa studies, at least, just to stay loose given how gestural his drawings are :3c
Last thing I should mention is commissions! My job is keeping me quite busy and physically/mentally exhausted, so unfortunately I can't finish anywhere near the amount of completed artwork as I used to. I'll have to update my Comm Info sheet and create some kind of wait-list or figure out something that works.
Anyways, that's about it for now, I think. My art output may be slowed down but I have no intention to stop :D

I'm now also on Telegram
Posted a year agoYup, I got myself onto Telegram as another means of contact. I know Twitter is understandably being dropped by a lot of people, so I figured Telegram would be the next best thing for me to reach out with
Telegram (DMs): @TempoMcFlurry
Telegram Art Channel: @Tempo McArtChannel
The second link there is an art channel where I'll be posting commission announcements, commission work, and personal art. Inside it is also a linked group chat for any comments/questions, if you're interested. Thankye for your interest!
And one more thing, I put all places I am active in into a linktree, for convenience. A link to my Info Sheet is there as well

2024 Birthday Update! :D
Posted 2 years agoAnother year, another update! I'm having a nice and quiet celebration and enjoying it. *throws only a little confetti so I don't have to clean up as much as last year*
2023 was a great year for me, I'd say. I'm very happy with my 2023 Art Summary and the art I made throughout the year. I did draw less completed pieces compared to years prior, but I do think the quality jumped up a noticeable amount! But yeah, most of what I have to say is in the description of that post, so feel free to read it.
Also art related, I started doing flashbark (yes, "flashbark") art for Shelter, a visual novel made by
raus (@RausVuffski)! There are currently only two flashbark art of mine in here, with more to come in the future, so I'm thankful for having the chance to work with him on these. There's a lot of content to read through if you're starting fresh, so consider picking it up and giving it a read if you're interested in dog men being dogs: https://rausmutt.itch.io/sheltervn :D
I remember saying that I wanted to start streaming my art last year, and I did! Except I only stream it in various Discord servers. When I stream, I stream in the respective servers - if I'm doing personal art, I usually stream in a friends' server or in a random server I frequent. Whenever I do fan art for Shelter VN I stream in the Shelter discord, fan art for Remember the Flowers in the RtF Discord (although I have yet to actually do that x3), etc. I know I have a Picarto account, but ehh. It's just so much quicker and easier for me since I almost always have discord open, and can stream directly to a targeted audience. I hope that's alright!
Not much else to say, methinks. I'm still working on making effective backgrounds for my art, so I suppose more of that will be done this year. Next year again, I'll make another journal entry :p

Now also on Bluesky
Posted 2 years agoYeah! It's me! @tempomcflurry.bsky.social!
From this point on I'll be posting to Bluesky, Mastodon, and Twitter. If you only want to follow on one or two of those, that's fine! You won't be missing anything since the same stuff will be posted across all three. You're free to follow me on all three, of course haha. Everything will probably end up here on my FA eventually though, so if anything this is the place to go over all my work since the very beginning :3

I'm on Mastodon (meow.social) now!
Posted 2 years agoTempoMcFlurry@meow.social
That's me! It's empty at the moment, but I'll start posting there just like I have been on Twitter. I won't be leaving Twitter either; I'm just spreading out a little. I'll still be just as active on Twitter as I always have been. I also plan to open a Bluesky account as well; I'm just waiting for my invite code :3

Yet another year later...! :3
Posted 3 years agoIt's January 27, so it's yearly update time (kinda), and my birthday! throws even more confetti in the air than last year's journal
There's nothing major to update, really. My art's been going very well and I'm happy with the quality at which I make them. I do think I need to learn to focus more though. I get distracted pretty easily and it takes a bit longer to finish my drawings than I'd like. Besides that, I did manage to FINALLY upgrade to a new M2 Macbook Air so I can retire my old 2010 Acer laptop. It has served me well in the 12 years I've had it, but now I can finally do the things I need faster and more efficiently! I need to get back into the streaming mindset - maybe streaming my art will help me with my focusing issue. I can't leave viewers hanging on the same frame too long/frequently haha
For now, I'm just going to keep doing what I've been doing. Study Yoji Shinkawa art (and other artist's interpretations of it), and apply new techniques with my own twist. I remember saying I wanted to pick up painting, but maybe that will take a backseat. Fast & loose sketching is something I'd much rather spend my time practicing and will be applicable to any other kind of drawing style I do
Anyhoo, that's it for now I guess. Just a smol update. When I decide to commit to a regular streaming schedule, I'll make another journal about it. Until then, the next journal will probably be another birthday journal haha!

"New" Profile Banner lol
Posted 3 years agoIt's the same as my Twitter banner; I'm too lazy to fix it so it will remain that way haha. I'll make a proper banner someday, perhaps of my "A Final Fantasy Story" OCs.
Maybe.
Eventually.

And another year later...
Posted 4 years agoI pretty much use journals to wish myself a happy birthday lmaooo. Just like last year and the year before that, I'll probably just keep it going as a little tradition of mine haha! *throws even more confetti in the air*
Damn, this mess of confetti is going to get bigger and bigger with each year. Hmmm...
Anyhoo, yeah a little update I guess. In the last week of 2021 I picked up reading visual novels and somehow got addicted to them. I already have a few on my To Read list, but the problem is that I always have a huge urge to draw the characters from the VNs I read, and I can only get those done so quickly while juggling other things like comms ^^; I suppose the good part about it is that I won't be running out of VNs to read through anytime soon.
Speaking of VNs, they've really pushed my art in the direction I've been looking to take for a long time. If you ask me, there's a pretty noticeable change in my art style and quality ever since I started reading VNs and doing fanart of them. I'm riding the inspiration while I can and noting the things that work & don't work, and you can expect to see a lot more character art soon :D
I also hit 1K followers on Twitter just before the New Year which is pretty neat, and it's already just about 1.3K at the tail end of January. That's a lot of people who like the stuff I draw! :O I'm just gonna keep doing what I feel like doing, especially since I've started getting to know a bunch of people in various communities around VNs. It's nice getting to talk to new peopleif not a bit scary aaaa.
Anyhoo, I don't have much else to say other than that I'll be opening back up for comms around early February, so keep an eye out for that announcement on my Twitter or when I update my FA bio. I'll maybe write another life/art/progress update before the inevitable 2023 birthday journal ahaha

I may try streaming again soon!
Posted 4 years agoOriginally, I couldn't stream because my laptop would overwork itself and shut down after likely overheating (or also having too many things running at once). That was during the hot, summer months. Now that colder weather is starting to roll in, I might give it another go and see what happens. I'm still keeping my eyes open for an opportunity to upgrade my laptop anyways since my current one is 10+ years old and is still serviceable. Maybe in a couple of months around the holiday season I'll be able to snag a good one for myself at a nice deal. In the meantime, follow me here over on Picarto! You'll get an email letting you know I've started streaming, but if not I'll also always be announcing it on my Twitter as well. Hopefully my laptop can still handle streaming + art program, but we'll see what happens :p
New FA Avatar :3
Posted 4 years agoSo after almost 3 years I finally updated my FA avatar lol. The previous one wasn't even 1:1 so I don't know why I didn't switch it out a long time ago. Anyhoo, I actually made this one probably a year ago. Thing is, I like switching my Twitter and Discord pfps to various gift arts I've received, so I sort of forgot about this one. I'm going to keep my FA avatar as this one though; it's me, made by me, for my gallery :D
My art is evolving. Again. (Also hello everyone)
Posted 4 years agoI'm going to make an effort to start writing journal entries mostly for myself, but everyone is welcome to follow along for insight on what goes on in my mind as I make my art journey. So much is happening regarding my art and so quickly too, so these journals should let me go a bit into detail about how I see my progress.
Dang. Almost exactly one year ago (+/- a month) I'd found and stuck to an art style that I love, and it's similar to what you'd see in the Metal Gear franchise. Love that franchise, love the art. Heck, after one year of practicing in that style, even my quick warm up sketches started looking pretty close to how I'd imagine it in the final version. Buuuuuut yeah I basically ignored clean line work hahaha. Until now, that is!
Endwalker could not have come at a better time. FFXIV's next expansion being released in November is currently my main inspiration and motivation for art. Funny thing is, I don't even play the game ahaha! I just reeeeally love just about everything about it a lot, especially the music! Apologies in advance if FF isn't quite your thing, but I'll be drawing a lot of FF-related pieces for a while. I've got my eyes scouring the internet for artwork by artists like Akihiko Yoshida and Yoshitaka Amano to learn everything I can. I've already dove into it by drawing this Hrothgar Sage! Man, I haven't felt this excited to do art in a long time. My thoughts are currently a mess as they're filled with hype. I'll still definitely be drawing in the good old Metal Gear style; that isn't going anywhere. Besides, there's still plenty of areas in that style for me to work on.
One final thing - I'll be postponing my commission opening to early/mid October. I'm going to get one or two more FF pieces down while I have the freedom to do so. As a heads up, I intend to add FF-style commissions to my list of offerings, but probably not in the next batch. Perhaps the next one, but I'll have to see how confident I am when that time comes

Another year later...
Posted 5 years agoHeck, I should probably create journals more often. Thing is, I don't really have much to say ^^;
Anyways, so much has happened in the past year. Yes, 2020 did 2020 things but I'm not going to talk about that. However, I will say that I'm thankful my life hasn't been negatively affected too much. I am very lucky in that regard. Besides that, I graduated with a degree in environmental biology! That felt like forever ago, especially with how much time I've spent distracting myself with art. Speaking of which, I opened for commissions for the first time back in August 2020! Goodness, I can confidently say my art skills have skyrocketed since then. It really pushed my abilities to their limits and fast-forwarded my learning. So a little tip from me: if you're an artist and unsure about going that extra step and doing commissions, do it anyways! Sometimes, all you need is that extra push and get the ball rolling.
Pardon the little plug, but I'd like to throw in my commission info sheet here just because: https://docs.google.com/document/d/.....it?usp=sharing
It really does blow my mind how far I've come in art. I sometimes take a look back at the old art I've done and it gets me excited thinking about all the new ideas I'll be able to execute. My 2-year progress is here, if anyone's interested in taking a look at what I consider my best work each month: https://twitter.com/TempoMcFlurry/s.....392105992?s=20
Anyhoo, just like last year's journal, today is also my birthday! Yay! *throws more confetti in the air.* And again I have plenty of birthday lasagna to go around for anyone who wants. Here's to yet another year of art :D

Finally open for Commissions!
Posted 5 years agoAlmost forgot to mention it here, but I've finally opened up for commissions!
I remember entertaining the idea and starting almost exactly a year ago, but now I actually have more the time to dedicate more effort to art and commissions now that I've graduated.
Sometime in the future, I do intend to expand my offered art styles to include the super fluffy style I did a long time ago too, but it'll have to wait until I figure it out again. But yeah, nothing much else to say. I hope you consider commissioning me for some art, and thank you if you do!
Info is HERE

One year later...
Posted 6 years agoOn this day one year ago I made this account to put my work into a gallery and track my drawing progress. Getting straight to it, I can say that I'm happy with the progress I've made. In my first six months of drawing, I didn't even attempt to draw a face and instead focused my efforts in getting other things right. Only in the past couple of months did I start figuring it all out. I'm still a bit inconsistent and not confident yet, but hey I'm getting there.
I can say without a doubt that the friends I've made along the way helped a ton. Whether or not they were artists themselves, we created a sort of feedback loop of inspiration, and all of them just make me want to draw even more. I won't go too deep into this because I'm not one to use words to express how I feel. Perhaps I'll just let my art do the talking :3
On a side note, today is my birthday. Yay! *throws confetti in the air.* I have more than enough birthday lasagna for anyone who wants. Here's to another year of art.
