Further Confusion 2013 Fursuit Masquerade

Meerk attended me on the stored livestream of the Masquerade: http://www.livestream.com/fc2013/sh.....content=fc2013 , you'll find me and Patty O Possum around 37:00, after the purple giraffe, but be sure to check out the rest, and the wonderful performance of the yellow gryphoness. She sure deserved her price!
Granted, I was a little bit nervous to see myself back again. I always felt a bit off during that performance. But it was not that bad. A shame during the final stage, no matter where I tried to navigate, this fellow kept on standing in front of me. But alas, I do not let that spoil a lovely day!

I am planning to write a little article about conventions, which is in a way a collection of stories and experiences but also a bit of a guide for new people what to expect at cons, and what to take into account.
We are talking about sketchbook etiquette, concrud, finances, convention must-sees, and things to avoid.
Anything you would like to see included? Any ideas or experiences you would like to share? Any things you would love to recommend/warn first time con-goers about? Naturally, if your experience is listed, you'll be named :)

Yaaaay! Birthday
Posted 13 years agoFrom a sunny San Jose, California, I would love to give you all some proper grubs on a birthday cake, for it is my birthday. So far my day is going great! The 30 minutes I am awake that is. Breakfast is good, and the day is sunny, and thank you for all the pokes and nudges!

You guys already saw a little behind the scenes peek in my gallery, this is what it was all about.
How the eck did I end up with such an awesome crew? It all started on Castlefest earlier this year when I ran into Perry Mulder, he was filming one of his documentaries (Where is Perry?) where he visits fantasy events. You might recognize him in his wacky outfits. He always stands out.
I initially had no clue what I got myself into. But
RinTheDragon knew and introduced me to his Facebook page. A week or so later I got an invitation to the premiere of several of his short movies, including a zombie movie. The premiere, although little, surely left an impression. They had an entire zombie apocalypse scene rebuild, and you had to walk through a zombie scene to get in, including firetrucks, things that were on fire, zombies, and whatnot. Of course there was a mad scientist at the end, testing us if we were not infected.
During that evening, I was on my own. Rin unfortunately was unable to attend, and I offered my help, both as a designer and meerkat. Little did I know what I got myself into!
A few weeks later I got a phone call if I could help them with this movie,when I asked when, the answer was now. And if I could bring props, suits, and other furries. Unfortunately many were not available on such absurd short notice. So I packed my car and went to the middle of nowhere in the Netherlands. Yes, we have big stretches of nowhere. Nowhere as big as other countries, but still pretty desolate.
Fortunately during the evening I managed to convince
RexyTheWhite to come along as well. And the next day we started to shoot the main part of the movie. It mostly consisted out of one huge shot. In the background we had to change the rooms, redecorate them and take care of a alot of little details before the camera returned. In the end I was very surprised it only took us 5 shots to get it right. But I promise you, the "Making Of" will include some antics.
Yesterday we had the big premiere in one of the Utrecht cinemas, and the public loved it. Tonight we will see if we won anything. And even if we do not win anything, we all had the times of our lives, and in the end, that is what counts.

Back in the Netherlands

As you saw with the uploads, I am back in the Netherlands, and I would like to thank everybody at Confuzzled for the wonderful time we had. Everything was very lovely! My stomach did not fully agree with the hotel food, but I do not hold the CFz staff responsible for that. The arrival of the guests of honor was amazing, and I wonder how, if, Eurofurence can top this.
This was my very first convention as an active fursuiter. And a lot of people were very helpful with hints, feedback, help, and so on. The responses towards Thabo were truly heart warming, and I will do my best to be there next time! Lets just hope the weather will be a bit less sizzling.

Confuzzled
Posted 13 years agoConfuzzled ( http://www.confuzzled.org.uk/ ) is ever drawing closer. And I am getting very excited. The planning will be as following:
RinTheDragon and I will be driving to Calais and take the train to Dover. From there will we will travel towards Cardiff to see the Dr.Who museum. After a stay in one of the local B&B's, we will be driving to the convention site.
I am very excited to visit the UK again, it will be my first time going to confuzzled. A lot of people have been very excited about this convention. I am glad Rin and I will be sharing a room, and trust me when I say we will be seen in suit a lot, or in the artist alley.
