Update on things with life: Big one is that I did finally get a new monitor after help from friends. Any who did help, huge thank you.

Other stuff:

I have a HUGE backlog of art stuff I need to upload. Adopts I've gotten, gifts, etc. Just have to kick myself in the butt to try and remember to actually DO the uploading! I'm really bad at that, even with reminders.

Beyond:

Something I've been thinking about and meaning to do is get back into streaming. Dunno how consistent it'd be, but I did enjoy doing game streaming the few times I did it. Was never super long, four hours at max once or twice on the weekends. I mainly stopped cause of computer issues (a common theme for me). Want to do a bit of a better job with it though. Anyone have advice on programs, themes, set ups to use? Advice as well. All ears for that stuff.

I swear, I have the absolute worst monitor luck. Because of cat related incidents, my monitor is on the verge of dying. So looking for help on that. Both looking for a good monitor and help getting it. ON TOP OF THAT, looking for help so my cat can have needed surgery to make sure this situation doesn't happen again.

Well this year isn't nearly as hectic as last year was! Here's to a calmer and quieter birthday!

I just wanted to give a quick thank you to everyone who commented on or reached out to me regarding the last journal. Also want to thank you all for being cordial about the replies. I was worried that there might be some negative or harassing comments, but none of that was there. It was very interesting hearing the different perspectives and thoughts regarding not just commissions being locked behind subscriptions, but preferred types of subscription options and benefits for patreon/subscribestar. Some food for thought if I ever open one up for personal projects (very unlikely, mind you).

In other news, I do have a project that's been in the works over the last few months. Might have noticed it if you've been following me for some time. All those Potpourri character images lately have been leading up to a rather large group shot of the cast against the wall. This is something I hope to have finished next month! No guarantees though. Big image, costly (but worth it), and time consuming for  cjweasle (who's open for commissions by the way!).

As a side thing, I do want to start posting up adoptables again very soon. The plan is to put up a small batch of like four every month moving forward. Might be a mix of regular anthros and pokemon anthros. I can't say for sure. These are all going to be made using various bases, but I hope they're liked and maybe given to good homes! I wanna try to have the first batch posted up in the first week of March.

Honest question: am I the entitled one if I think it's wrong for an artist to make you be a patron or part of some other subscription based site in order to commission them? Like, I'm being forced to spend money in order to spend more money.

Like, I can understand some reasoning behind it, but I feel like the most common reason I see, want to not get overwhelmed and/or don't do art for a living, can be handled in other ways. Like limited slots per month and/or submission forms that you can pick and chose from.

I dunno. Maybe I'm just old and cranky. Maybe I am just entitled. I mainly just wanted to vent a little about this and see the opinion of other people on the subject. In the end, it's your choice how you handle commissions and not really my place to say you're doing it wrong. There are reasons, I know.

Just wanna thank everyone for the birthday wishes yesterday. Means a lot to me.

Once more, my birthday has come around. Definitely the most hectic one so far. Wish I could really celebrate it, but I'm in the middle of moving. Opps!

Things have been chugging along. While the first half of the month was utter crap, the second half has been surprisingly well. Family found a new place, just one week after finding out we no longer had a home. We've been currently cleaning and packing up the old house in order to move next week. Means I'm gonna be busy as fuck and cleaning and moving stuff on my birthday (May 28th). So as stressful as it's been, things are looking up.

Well, things haven't gotten completely better, but a lot of stuff is now on hold. Pair of vet visits for my cat (she's fine, no worries) have left me completely drained of cash for the month, so SAM related things are pretty much on hold until at least next month. I have everything for the second raffle prize and should have that up before end of the week, but the other two will have to wait. I apologize for that. Life just decided to toss multiple fastballs at my face all at once.

Other news: Birthday is in just over two weeks. Hoping to share some nice things then. Hoping to have some good news for a change by then!

So, life has thrown one hell of a huge curveball at me. Long story short, home was foreclosed and very likely will have to move in extremely short notice. We only found out about this yesterday (5/9/2024) and I've been pretty frazzled since. Lot of anxiety, worry, fear, and uncertainty. Going to be move ahead as best I can, but short term plans may have to be changed. I'm still unsure on if I'll be putting the Smeargle Appreciation Month stuff on hold for the time being or not. There's more things I need to find out about this whole situation. Promised art will be done, just might not be this month or next. If it's delayed, I apologize. Here's hoping that things turn for the better very soon.
