krystal_aristokats here with an idea that I need my fellow guild members feedback on:
One of our guild members asked a question that I would appreciate the guilds open and honest feedback on about Etsy.
For those who have an Etsy shop:
1) What are the top 3 pieces of advice that you would give to a new crafter just starting out selling in the retail crafting community?
2) How did you make your shop noticeable, memorable, and profitable?
3) Do you have any stories of successes or miss steps to share that helped you manage and run your business?
4) Also, does anyone know of any Etsy groups that will give honest and helpful criticism to a preexisting Etsy shop?
For non-Etsy sellers:

One of weekly group discussions topics that has been suggested is about news in crafting community on FA and in the media.
1) So, what if any craft related topics have been trending on FA? To clarify, these topics that go beyond your or others advertising that commissions are open or closed.
2) In your related craft, what type of news has been trending recently? You can be as brief or detailed as you wish to be.
3) Can you think of any specific topics that would make good crafting guild discussion topics for future journal topics?

1. The guild wants to see what our guild members have been working on this summertime. This is the last call for anyone who has Independence Day or 4th of July related creations are also encouraged to submit their work. Fall, autumn, and back to school related crafty creations will be accepted as of today.

One of our guild members suggested a monthly "Craft Swap". Essentially, an individual volunteers his/her time and talent to make a gift for something else in the guild. Individuals can be matched up randomly from a pool of participants or this can be done 1-on-1. All prizes should be completed and sent to the recipients within a month of being matched up. I am gauging interest if anyone would be interested in helping develop the basic rules and guidelines for the swap? Would anyone be interested in learning more about the swap or participating in the craft swap?

Krystal_Aristokats here looking for original crafty creation(s) can be featured on the group's next weekly journal and submission! Each week this group will be updated with a new selection of crafty creators showcasing new and old creations.
Deadline is Sunday, July 19nd at midnight EST.
To be part of the groups next weekly featured journal and submission, please send the group a note with the following information:
1. The titles of the images that you are particularly proud of, looking to sell, or otherwise want to have featured on the group page from your FA gallery. All images do not need to be posted on FA to be featured. Although, all image links posted outside of FA must be publicly accessible and be the original work of the individual(s) submitting them.
2. A link to each image that you want featured. Limit three (3) images total per username. To clarify, this means if you want to show off a photo of 3 different items, or 3 views of the same one item, or the same one item in 3 stages of progression it counts as all 3 of your images. Please, choose the images for your work wisely.
3. Do you wish to sell your creation?
If yes, please have all relevant information including links to other websites like Etsy or Storeenvy contained in the image's description -BEFORE- you note the group.
Also, please double check that all of your redirect links contain accurate information and the links are functional.
If no, please simply write in not for sale or NFS for the response to this question.
4. Do you openly give TheCraftersGuild permission to use your image in part or whole in a weekly crafting collage submission? Your work will be credited and linked back to in the text portion of the submission. If you wish to decline, your work will still be added to the group's journal only.
5. If an artist/crafter has already been featured in a previous week, there is a 2 week minimum waiting period before the artist/crafter can feature his/her work again. This is meant to give time for others to show off their unique work. Also, it gives those artists/crafters who have been featured time to work on new projects.

Seeking New Group Moderators! Apply Now!

It is very important to keep The Crafters Guild (TCG) running smoothly and keeping all watcher's updated about what is going on in the crafting world on FA each week. Thus, TCG is currently looking for 1-3 new group moderators. Any interested individuals which are current group members of TCG, are active on FA at least weekly, are willing to dedicate a hour or two per week to help out the group. The main duties are seeking out fresh new talented crafters to join and showcase their work for the group as well as managing the FA group when I am unavailable to do so. If interested in applying, please contact Krystal_Aristokats via a note with the title: "TCG Mod Application Request". Please include why you wish to become a TCG mod, your current qualifications and skills that you can offer the group, and any other relevant details. If you have questions, please ask them! Interviews will be set up within a week of applications being received. New mods will hopefully be selected hopefully by early next month.

Posted 10 years agoSince it has been far too long since the group has received any sort of new artwork submissions, TCG is calling upon our group's members to give the group a much needed makeover starting with a new icon and profile ID. The icon or profile ID could be something drawn or a photograph or a culmination of various images of completed crafts (for an animated icon) or it could be something else entirely. So, I am asking all active guild members to please take a few moments of your time to answer the following questions as openly and honestly as possible.
1. What would you like to see as the guild's profile ID?
2. What would you want the guild icon to look like?
3. How often should the profile ID/icon change? (monthly, seasonally, annually, etc?)
4. Would anyone be willing to volunteer their time or talents to make this must needed makeover for the guild possible?
*Full credit for the work will be given publicly and a promotional link (of the winner's choice) that will be featured in the group's profile page. Who does not love free advertising?!

The guild's official anniversary was yesterday on July 4th or Independence Day in the USA. Thank you to everyone for supporting the group via making submissions, suggestions, spreading the work that the group exists since its reboot in March, and by giving feedback to make this guild the best place it can be for our fellow guild members.

I need some honest feedback from our fellow guild members. The more individuals who offer helpful feedback and constructive criticism, the better that these events can be planned, managed, and executed to benefit all members of the guild.
1) I am requesting prize suggestions for the 4th Anniversary Art Contest and Raffle to celebrate 4 years since the start of the guild. The guild's anniversary is in just over 2 weeks away on Saturday, July 4th. I am curious, what would you like to win?
2) Would anyone be willing to offer a piece of art or a craft as a prize for the guild's anniversary contest or a free to enter raffle? Prizes can be premade or custom made for the winner(s). There is no minimum value required. All donators will have their work featured in the group's current submissions, receive full artistic credit, and a link (if provided) to commission information.
Personally, I am willing to offer $10 value of my jewelry making talents and free USA shipping as a prize for a raffle winner.

Krystal_Aristokats here:I need some honest feedback from our fellow guild members. The more individuals who offer helpful feedback and constructive criticism, the better that these events can be planned, managed, and executed to benefit all members of the guild.
1) I am requesting prize suggestions for the 4th Anniversary Art Contest and Raffle to celebrate 4 years since the start of the guild. The guild's anniversary is in just over 2 weeks away on Saturday, July 4th. I am curious, what would you like to win?
2) Would anyone be willing to offer a piece of art or a craft as a prize for the guild's anniversary contest or a free to enter raffle? Prizes can be premade or custom made for the winner(s). There is no minimum value required. All donators will have their work featured in the group's current submissions, receive full artistic credit, and a link (if provided) to commission information.
Personally, I am willing to offer $10 value of my jewelry making talents and free USA shipping as a prize for a raffle winner.

3) One of our guild members suggested a monthly "Craft Swap". Essentially, an individual volunteers his/her time and talent to make a gift for something else in the guild. Individuals can be matched up randomly from a pool of participants or this can be done 1-on-1. All prizes should be completed and sent to the recipients within a month of being matched up. I am gauging interest if anyone would be interested in helping develop the basic rules and guidelines for the swap? Would anyone be interested in learning more about the swap or participating in the craft swap?

It is very important to keep The Crafters Guild (TCG) running smoothly and keeping all watcher's updated about what is going on in the crafting world on FA each week. Thus, TCG is currently looking for 1-3 new group moderators. Any interested individuals which are current group members of TCG, are active on FA at least weekly, are willing to dedicate a hour or two per week to help out the group. The main duties are seeking out fresh new talented crafters to join and showcase their work for the group as well as managing the FA group when I am unavailable to do so. If interested in applying, please contact Krystal_Aristokats via a note with the title: "TCG Mod Application Request". Please include why you wish to become a TCG mod, your current qualifications and skills that you can offer the group, and any other relevant details. If you have questions, please ask them! Krystal_Aristokats here looking for original crafty creation(s) can be featured on the group's next weekly journal and submission! Each week this group will be updated with a new selection of crafty creators showcasing new and old creations.
Deadline is Monday, June 22nd at midnight EST.
To be part of the groups next weekly featured journal and submission, please send the group a note with the following information:
1. The titles of the images that you are particularly proud of, looking to sell, or otherwise want to have featured on the group page from your FA gallery. All images do not need to be posted on FA to be featured. Although, all image links posted outside of FA must be publicly accessible and be the original work of the individual(s) submitting them.
2. A link to each image that you want featured. Limit three (3) images total per username. To clarify, this means if you want to show off a photo of 3 different items, or 3 views of the same one item, or the same one item in 3 stages of progression it counts as all 3 of your images. Please, choose the images for your work wisely.
3. Do you wish to sell your creation?
If yes, please have all relevant information including links to other websites like Etsy or Storeenvy contained in the image's description -BEFORE- you note the group.
Also, please double check that all of your redirect links contain accurate information and the links are functional.
If no, please simply write in not for sale or NFS for the response to this question.
4. Do you openly give TheCraftersGuild permission to use your image in part or whole in a weekly crafting collage submission? Your work will be credited and linked back to in the text portion of the submission. If you wish to decline, your work will still be added to the group's journal only.
5. If an artist/crafter has already been featured in a previous week, there is a 2 week minimum waiting period before the artist/crafter can feature his/her work again. This is meant to give time for others to show off their unique work. Also, it gives those artists/crafters who have been featured time to work on new projects.

Featured Crafters - Deadline Extended Until Tuesday 5/26
Posted 10 years agoThe guild would enjoy seeing what everyone has been working on this late springtime/early summertime. For those who live in the USA, remember that Memorial Day is this coming Monday - May 25th. Due to the holiday, the deadline for new submissions has been moved from Monday May 25th to Tuesday May 26th to give everyone who wishes to participate a chance to show off their own original crafty creations.

For those who live in the USA, remember that Mother's Day is this coming Sunday. Due to the holiday, the deadline for new submissions has been moved from Sunday to Monday to give everyone who wishes to participate a chance to show off their own original artwork.
