I've been reading up on this paypal thing, it reminds me of what I wrote on the electronic etch-a-sketch in the Security office at MFF...

To paraphrase (since I don't quite remember)...
"Common sense, why you so tasty? There's none of you left..."

All of my transactions have, at most, "For agreed upon commission" and I think that's more than good enough. If you're going to do a transaction, do all negotiations through e-mail / notes or whatever, just not in a payment, that's silly and dumb.

Use common sense, that's the only way to fight the dumb. And if you don't use common sense, then you're part of the problem, not the solution. Be part of the solution for Humanity's sake...

Been thinking of switching over to another account that I have but haven't used up to now. An account I was only going to use for fursuiting stuff but this account is called thecyberhawk and that's a username from when I first started online, about 19 years ago...

Strangely enough this really started with two videos that I saw recently that has really put me into a head space that is really different. I have started to think in terms of Branding and Socialnomics. For that reason, I might switch accounts.

I think I know why we had it for a long time (more light for farmers to work in the fields or so I've been told) but we really don't need it now a days.

Why don't we just shift time one last time by 1/2 an hour and be done with time shifting?

So up to two weeks ago, I had a fiance, Bariki, that was sharing my room and a friend, Inari.

Bariki said he couldn't do the long distance relationship anymore and thus all my plans for him that weekend went out the window.

Down to two people was okay, we both would still have been paying the same amount.

Then I saw a journal two nights ago on FA from Inari saying he couldn't make it, further confirmed the next day when he tweeted it. While he still had not contacted me about not going, I knew I had to move quickly to get some roommates. So yesterday, I put the call out on twitter and within two hours, I had people ready to be staying in the room with me.

I'm glad I was able to fill the room up quickly but I keep wondering if the universe is telling me to skip MFF... Well Universe, I'm not listening.

To anyone reading this, sorry, only place to write a journal I have left...

I got word from  bariki about how he felt our relationship was going. Citing distance and my potential inability to immigrate to wherever he would end up (staying in the UK or moving to US), he decided that it was time to end our relationship for both our sakes.

I did try to see if we could work through the problems but any plans that would have been possible would be too long and too far in the future to make it work, it was a problem in immediacy and distance. Because I still love him greatly and I didn't want to hurt him by trying to persuade him to stay with me, I though it would be best not to pursue it more and to accept the inevitable, our breakup.

It was a great 2.5 - 3 years even with it being such a distance, those years are ones that I never thought I would have. I still love him but as the saying goes, sometimes you have to let go of the ones you love because you love them so much. Also I think I might still be in shock about this.

Of course this will make MFF difficult this year because that's where we met in 2008. It was also, last year, in the week after MFF on Bariki's birthday, that we got engaged. Difficult won't begin to describe what it'll be like.

It was Thanksgiving, we had a great meal and I had decided to tell some of the local people that I consider friends and some friends that I could only contact online about what happened Sunday.

Thankfully nothing of value happened, except D&D

I had a migraine starting, locked myself out of the house without keys and phone, eventually made it to work an hour late and was feeling so bad that I came back home two hours later.


Yeah, it's been quite a week so far, hope everyone else's is going at least a wee bit better.

This week is ending with quite a bit of time spent on MFF.

Verifying some stuff as well as getting my time off request approved by work. So I will be heading down the Wednesday and coming back on the Monday, though I'm glad I didn't want to drive down on the Tuesday because my work is having some big event on that date...

I've also been slowly working out rides and last but not least, I will be sending some money to my zeeb to help him pay for his flight over to Chicago sometime in the next couple of days...

It all makes me excited for it and is definitely something to look forward to right now.

Less than 60 days to go...

Monday the staff gets together and starts planning for Condition: Blue.

I cannot wait, I've already heard some wonderful ideas from staff and from people that are excited about the theme for Blue. Of course we were all tired from the epic 3 hour auction that raised $10,500+ dollars at Condition: Red, so the theme wasn't announced properly. That was my fault.

But next year to continue our story arc for the conventions, we will be doing a "War is Over" theme, with a lot of influence from the early 20th century, especially Jazz. A lot of Jazz, it's my favorite genre and since I'm con chair, for this year, I get a bit of say :D.

This will probably be my only journal on this until close to the convention, but I hope to see everyone there.

Oh and I can promise there will be no Corridor con (construction will be done by November).

I'm getting excited that it's coming up.

We've made some massive improvements over Condition: Zero Hour, especially in registration.

And I have also just started to put things together for Condition: Blue, yes the next con after Condition: Red is Condition: Blue.

As well, I've been looking after quite a few things and the biggest one being the Programming and have that just about wrapped up, just need to make a few last minute adjustments and then I'll be posting it online by the end of next week on the website...

Well in any case they will be airing the Furry episode at Condition: Red (http://www.conditionfurry.ca) and we will be doing a Q&A with them right after.

I have just scheduled into our Programming for 7pm on the Friday evening, right after opening ceremonies So Be there!

My god, it's June 15th. I cannot believe that the con is that close already.

Today is the last day to register and get a custom Condition: Red multipass. Though I've heard some rumblings from Registration that they might extend it by a day or two as they are getting quite a few registrations, however, I don't know if that will happen.

So if you haven't registered and want a custom multipass, I'd say get registered today...

FCN was really nice, got to just "fart around" and not do much. I had borrowed an otter partial from Stitchwolf and when I finally got into it, I found I loved fursuiting again.

I had been on a hiatus of sorts for various reasons. Unfortunately I had a bad back for the weekend and didn't really suit after the fursuit parade. I am disappointed that I didn't plow through the pain and went out but I didn't and instead I just relaxed.

Also I made the bartenders really happy, I got hugs (which surprised me) and we ended up making a new drink of Jagger, Citrus Vodka and Sprite.

Next con is Condition. As VP of Admin for the company running it, I have to admit that I would love to see everyone pre-reg, even if they can't pay right away. I just want to know how many people I will end up having to provide food for and how many of our multipass badges we will have to order.

Furnal Equinox is over, now it's time for FCN :)

I will be arriving on the Thursday with at least  tigersammy and will have to register on-site though because I forgot to pre-reg.

If anyone reads these, who will I see there?

So I went to FE and here's what happened from my point of view:

- Drove  tigersammy,  strype,  cooper,  frostscar and his women, Fiery, down.
- Registered as :3
- Wondered the con, found nothing of interest to me and thus kept annoying furs that are friends or that I know.
- Helped host the Condition: Red party
- Enjoyed good food with friends.

And that's about it. I think I'll be back next year, it's just down the road.

FE is coming up this weekend, gonna head out "early" Friday morning, like around 9 or 10am.

Planning on being there around 2pm, after we stop off and get sushi :3

Also I've started experimenting with new mixed drinks for the Condition lounge. Plan on doing quite a bit of that and I might bring a couple of liters to the FE as well.

A couple days ago, we updated and opened registration on the website.

We plan a number of things this year but the biggest thing is more space. In fact compared to last year, we are getting three times the space and if we can get 500 people registered for the convention, we still have space to expand into.

Well it's been a couple of months but i've been busy. Work is a soap opera of fail but I cannot say anymore.

First I should start off with the Fursuit bit I wanted to say. I've been having a hard time for... Well the last year with wanting to fursuit, I've felt that my performance is nowhere near good enough and how my partial looks isn't exactly what I want anymore for you see, I've been leaning to the even toonier side of things in the last year and a half...

So I've decided (actually today) to give my character a facelift and I now have to figure out some way to get him as a new suit for Condition because he'll play a roll in the events we have planned for the con. On the flip side of that, I got a quote for Tai, a character I really want to see as a suit but my god, it will be expensive as all heck.

If anyone reading this has a suggestion on either building / getting help / commissioning someone that does toony suits, I'd like to hear it


Next is condition. That's been a lot of stuff that we want in place and some of it admittedly has delayed updates to the website but it's time to get going. We are now 6 months out, our registration system will be ready in a few of days and we have a few announcements, the main one being (which is not really a secret) is the fact that  sophiecabra,  cooper and  strype will be our GoHs. Plus we have a new multipass design.

Lastly, I just wanted to say that I'm still amazed that my fiance  bariki proposed to me and that every day I wish we could be together. Unfortunately that won't be for another year and a half but I cannot wait to do a wedding. Or should I say perhaps it'll just be a big... Party? :D

Let's start with MFF...

I ran into some people that I enjoy hanging out with, but I couldn't hang out with them. Also saw some people I should have said "Hi" to, including TKWolfPup (sorry dude) but I saw them just as I was doing something else...

Main reason I didn't hang out with any, though, was because I was working a lot of hours on security, not as much as some other people but there where quite a few hours put in... However, I was also sick, which was the other thing, when I wasn't working security, I was trying to get better. Unfortunately the cold that I have hit full blast Monday morning, just in time for the six to eight hour journey home.


And now for the important thing...

On the Tuesday night, just after  bariki and I had dinner on his birthday, he proposed to me. I've said yes to him. I'm so happy about it and look forward when we can be together after he finishes his degree in the UK.

*panics*

So close, so much to do...

It was a great time. I had never staffed a con before and while the other board of directors had, I think I was able to be extremely reliable and resourceful for the con.

It meant I had 16 hour days but it was extremely fun.

And now it'll be on to Condition: Red, though perhaps a little bit of a rest before we start to fully plan that convention :)

I'm actually on Ontario Furries but I don't go on it, except to read the drama and I don't comment. However, my roommate was banned, permanently on the forums and some other people have been banned because they are helping out Furnal Equinox. Other people are leaving now because of those bans.

It's interesting psychologically but I wondered if they where thinking of starting up a new forum. I hope they do, but it also got me to thinking about what domains I own. I have had two domains for 11 years now, tried doing something with them but never followed through. I picked another one up four years ago, intent on using it for a project but never did. I like the names though, and I use them for e-mail accounts so I've kept them around for collecting my junk mail

What I am wondering, however, is what would you do with these domains, if you had them? I might even take someone up on their suggestion, all credit to them...

Well we are just over 35 days away from Condition: Zero Hour.

Technically the first con I will have ever worked, but then again it won't be so bad, I've worked on a lot of different projects over the years that could possible be more work than Condition will be.

If you aren't coming by to see us at the con, that's too bad. We are trying something new, something different and I hope everyone that does come likes it.

Today was the last day to get your own fully customized multipasses, we will be getting not as customizable multipasses for those that register later, though you might be lucky enough that we can slip you into our order, if you get your registration in by the 4th of July.

Needed to get that last journal off my front page, it was old.

Anyways, I'll be at AC with  bariki starting on that Thursday. I had a small hope to have my character, tai, as a fursuit for then, but it is not meant to be. So now I'm taking a longer term approach and plan on having him for MFF. Though I might still have something for AC that's different than the two year old Cola partial, we'll see though because of my lacking track record.


Also thanks to those people that have watched me, I don't think I deserve it but hopefully I'll be more active and get some pictures up soon.

All I talk about are cons in these journals and leave them up here, but thought I'd just throw another one up anyways.

Not attending Furnal Equinox, even if it's just two hours away. It is two weeks before I have to move the IT infrastructure of the company I work for to a new building and yeah, I'll be busy. (btw, if anyone has suggestions for healthy alternatives for someone that'll be working 12 to 16 hour days, let me know :D)

Then I'll be at FCN with my zeeb  bariki He'll be arriving Thursday afternoon, so I'll have to get myself and  madius there before then.  tigersammy is going with his girl,  kutekittykatt so no worrying about also getting him there.

Next will be AC and will be there from the wednesday to the monday.

189 Days from today, Condition: Zero Hour happens.
