This artist is open for commissions!
Posted 9 years agoHello my dear followers!
I know a lot of you are hungry for commissions and I just happen to know someone who is open for them!

I'm suprised that Incorgnito doesn't get any more commission than she does, because her art's awesome. Go check her out!

OC meme!
Posted 9 years agoTwistedpherret had the pleasure of being the first one ever to tag me for anything. So, here goes: Some info about your favorite red vixen! I haven't really developed my characters' backgrounds much, so this is just mostly going to be some nice-to-know trivia tidbits.
Rules:
1. Post these rules.
2. Post 8 facts about your character.
3. Tag 8 other characters.
4. Post their names along with their creators' avatars.
Scarlet Darkpaw [ http://www.furaffinity.net/view/13211317 ]
1. Scarlet is infact just a genderbent Scar, but I liked the colour scheme a lot so I decided to make her a seperate character one time when I was drunk.
2. Despite her posing for all sorts of sexy, naked pinups all the time, she would never actually engage in sexual actions with anyone expect for any lovers. Sorry!
3. Her character design is heavily influenced by Rita the fox from Jungledyret Hugo.
4. Her hair-style is a straight copy from a certain person I used to know.
5. She isn't in fact a Scar's relative. She and Scar don't actually exist in the same universe since they're essentially the same person, just different gender. This means that they'll rarely be seen together, if at all.
6. She knows that she's pretty, makes full use of it and bloody enjoys it. (NOT BIG SURPRISE)
7. For those who didn't realise: her name is an intentional pun about her fur colours. But what you probably didn't know was that those colours are based on my favorite colour combo that I used to like on my friend's car: Crimson and Black.
8. Her self-esteem is very high and thus she wouldn't do anything considered "slutty".
That's it! I hope you found this edumacating! And now to pass off the miser... I mean meme!

Holy damn. I could actually think of 8!
Stay safe folks!

Hey again everyone!
This is just a small newsflash to inform you that you can also stalk me on Twitter from now on as well! Probably wont be too active there, since I'm not gonna make a tweet evertime I eat a slice of toast and I'm generally against sharing specifics about my life. It's mostly going to be a place where I'll share some cool photos and other things folks might find amusing and/or interesting.

I'm a Twitter noob so go easy on me please! Also, haven't got much there yet, but will probably get into the habit of posting there every now and then.
Stay awesome!

Random observations with Fox: Smut vs. Clean art.
Posted 9 years agoHello folks! Here's a random thing I did while I was bored recently.
It's a common saying in the advertising field that sex sells. This also applies to FA submissions and I've noticed a trend of NSFW art being generally much more viewed than any clean submission of a similar quality level. I decided to perform a little scientific test using my own gallery as point of reference and this is what I gathered:
On average my clean submissions have 232.74 views per submission
On average my NSFW submissions (not counting that flash from Ruki, because it skews things up) have 525.25 views per submission
That means that the NSFW submissions get around 126% more views than my clean ones. That's more than twice the views if it's something dirty!
There you have it folks, you heard it here first. A random furry on the internet, who struggled with math at school, concluded from his completely flawless research that porn gets on average more than double the views than clean artwork.
Thanks for letting me educate you with this useless information and sorry for wasting your time. You can continue doing whatever you were doing now.

To my followers: Gauging interest
Posted 9 years agoHi everyone!
If it wasn't completely obvious to most of my watchers by now, I love all things military. Fueled by this interest, I've designed quite a few military vehicles myself and put them into my own little imaginary setting with anthro animals. I've mostly kept these to myself up to now, but since I've met quite a few like-minded furs, I've been playing with the thought of putting up my ideas here for everone to read. So, would you folks be interested in seeing what I've come up with? I warn you in advance that my illustration skills are very basic, but all the backstories for these designs are pretty extensive and I think some of you might enjoy them.
What say you?

FA milestone: 10 000 pageviews!!!
Posted 10 years agoI realised that I had hit 10 000 pageviews yesterday which also happened to be my birthday of all days! :D Awww, FA you shouldn't have! <3
Wow, just wow! This is humbling for me and I'm at a loss of words from all this attention. I want to thank all my watchers and everyone else who've made reaching this milestone possible by checking out and liking my stuff. I hope I can keep being worthy of your attention in the future as well.
There's some artwork of your favorite vixen on the way, so stay tuned!
Thank you so much again ya'll! You're all awesome!

Buh-bye 2015!
Posted 10 years agoHappy new year to you my dear journal reader.
This is that once-a-year journal where I talk about how my year went. It's not quite 2016 here yet, only a couple of minutes still left.
All in all, this year has been alright! My family's doing alright on both sides of the border and I'm particularly proud of my Grandpa who has had two surgeries and he's living his life normally again like a real champ. Once again I got to go to Eurofurence and had a bloody good time. I also finally got to meet some friends there who I've been meaning to meet for a while now, you know exactly who you are. I also had to pleasure of making a bunch of new ones as well. Many great artists have blessed my eyes with a lot of great artwork and all of my commissionees have my sincerest thanks for jobs well done.
The next year is gonna be pretty tough for me school-wise, since it's my last year and there's a bunch of last year stuff to do! Wish me luck!
That's pretty much all I wanted to say! The Evil Fox wishes you all love, prosperity, happiness and health for the year 2016. May the new year bring forth great things to us all!
Happy new year my dear fuzz-butts!

Tech thoughts with Fox - Mechas
Posted 10 years agoEveryone loves mechas or walkers, whatever you wanna call them. Not many things are more awesome than a huge robot suit bristling with weaponry. However, after I had my brush with the realities of vehicular warfare in the Finnish Army, it made me question the real-life practicality and usefulness of a walker as a weapon system. I seriously doubt wether or not we're ever going to have combat walkers at all because I couldn't really find a role for one where it would out-perform anything that's already in existence I'm trying to spur some healthy discussion here, so feel more than free to disagree with what I'm about to say.
Here are some of my thoughts:
Mobility:
There's no question about it, properly-made leg propulsion has some real potential with obstacle crossing, such as trenches, tank traps or barricades. However, by using legs you're placing the weight of the vehicle on two very small spots on the ground causing massive ground pressure. Considering that even the smallest of combat walkers in popular culture are pretty massive to begin with this would cause some real issues crossing any terrain. Roads would be completely destroyed in a single pass and the walker would simply sink into anything softer. Then there's the fact that the propulsion units themselves would be, atleast initially, really complex and expensive to manufacture over more traditional means of propulsion. High inclines could also present the danger of the walker falling over, but this would depend on how the propulsion unit takes hills into account.
Proportions:
The basic set-up of a combat walker would allow for some new methods in the exploitation of "hull-down" tactics or the use of other obstacles as cover to shoot over from. This brings up another problem, even the more modest and "realistic" walkers (Such as the ones in Battlefield 2142) I've seen are pretty damn high. Making them very easy to spot, really hard to hide and really easy targets for any anti-vehicle weapon when they can be seen coming from miles away. Which brings me to the next point.
Protection:
Maybe the silly proportions of this weapon system could be negated somewhat by the use of some new type of protection like shields or a new type of armour. This will just beg the question why would not that protection be installed on something that's smaller of a target to begin with. There's no reason to not equip your tanks with the same protection systems if you have it available for something that's as complex as a walker. Thinking back to the things I said in "Mobility", making the walker more heavily armoured to compensate for its size, would make its limited mobility even worse.
Armament:
Pretty much all the things I've said in "Protection" apply here as well. All the weaponry you could mount on a mech, you can mount on a tank. Putting multiple weapons on the walker would complicate crew training and supply logistics when you need supply the vehicle with multiple different kinds of ammunition. It would also again increase weight and hinder the vehicle's movement.
I don't wanna be a killjoy, but considering what I just said, as awesome as they are, I don't think we'll ever see any proper combat mechas. Anything they can do, a tank can do better and they're cheaper to make. But who knows, maybe in the future a combat role will arise where these vehicles will fit perfectly. This is what cavarlymen must've thought about tanks in 1917.

Eurofurence 21 Meme
Posted 10 years agoIt's that time of the year again!
Shamelessly stolen from
kashmere Thanks!
Where are you staying?
Main hotel
Means of transportation?
Private jet. Yeah, I wish. A flight to Berlin and S-bahn to the Estrel
Sharing a room with
finnowolf
What is your gender?
Male
Relationship Status
Very single, would love to meet female furs.
How old are you?
23
How tall are you?
180cm
Which languages do you speak?
English, Finnish, Russian, some German and some Swedish
Where will you be most of the time during the day?
Going to interesting panels and events.
Who will you be with?
Will probably hang out with Finnowolf and other Finnish furs the most.
Do you do free art?
If you absolutely want art from someone who draws as horribly as I do and you bribe me a bit with some booze... The yeah, sure.
Do you do trades?
We can trade drinks. That's the only thing worth trading I have really.
Do you do commissions?
Lol, nope.
Do you have prints/ CDs?
See above.
What suit(s) will you have?
Only the company of Finnowolf's. None of my own.
Can I dance with you?
Sure, if you don't mind my fairly... unique style of dancing. Dancing alone's a tad boring.
Can I touch you?
Depends on where and how. Also, ask first.
Can I talk to you?
Sure, I love to meet new furs.
Can I hug you?
I'd prefer if you didn't. I reserve this privilige to close friends and family members. Random hugging will just creep me out.
Can I take photos of you/with you?
I don't think anyone's ever taken a good photo of me but you'll take one of my hat anyway.
Can I buy you lots of drinks?
I can't say no to that. I drink anything that isn't beer.
Can I give you lots of money?
As long as it's not couterfeit, who could say no to this?
Do you drink Alcohol/Smoke?
First, you offer me drinks and then you ask me if I drink, logic much? Anyways, I'm half-Russian, of course I drink. I don't smoke though.
Can we hang out?
Things can be arranged.
Are you nice?
Unlike what my name might make you believe, I'm a fairly nice foxy.
Other cons you may go to?
Finfur Animus 2016 and (hopefully) the next year's eurofurence again.
Attending any events?
Most of the ones with uncle Kage (coz' he's fun!) in them and all the super-sponsor ones. I haven't quite made up my mind about the rest though, so I can't say for sure. I'll probably be just wandering around the con randomly when there's nothing on.
How can I find you at the con?
I'm sticking with the post-apocalyptic theme of the con, so look for the guy who looks like Mr. Burke from Fallout 3. Google is your friend if you don't know who he is.
Can we go out for a dinner?
Things can be arranged, but I wont promise anything.
Are you buying art?
Pretty sure I will.
What do I have to watch out for, when I am meeting you?
When I get excited, I start shouting and I wont notice it. Don't hesitate to interrupt me to tell me if it's bothering you in some way. Also, I'm not very keen on the furry way of greeting by hugging.
What is the best way to contact you?
Throw me a message on here or meet me in person and we can arrange to meet up somwhere.
May I kidnap you to my room?
Depends on what you intend to do with me there.
You look pretty tired, are you ok?
Yes, my blood alcohol percentage just dropped.
Will you tell me your room-number and can I surprise visit you?
I don't have a number to share with you yet.
I have a personal question for the convention. May I ask you that?
Go right ahead!

So long 2014!
Posted 11 years agoGreetings to ye journal reader!
At the time of writing, it has been 2015 for about an hour in Finland now.
I know that for many this year hasn't been particularly good. I have many close friends, family members and acquitances who have been tried by the year to the worst degree. I have nothing to complain about the passed year myself: I finally got to go to eurofurence, I've had the good fortune of commissioning a lot of great artists and supporting their work, school success and money affairs have been okay and there haven't been any world-shaking changes to complain about.
To everyone, and particularly those who've felt the worst of 2014, I wish for less hardships and more success and for the bad things to be left behind with the passing year.
I wish everyone health, prosperity and happiness for the new year of 2015!
Cheers! *Champagne*
Ps. I just learned how to write 2014 into all documents, and now I gotta learn how to write it all over again!

Wow. Just wow. I thank everyone who like the stuff I commission and do. All this attention is humbling and I hope I can keep providing you things that you watch me for. :)

Posted 11 years agoThis is going to be my frist-ever Eurofurence, so I guess I gotta do one these huh?
Also, stole this from
ratino Thanks pal!
Where are you staying?
At the Estrel
What day are you getting there?
On the 19th
Means of transportation?
On a flight to Schönefeld, then probably a taxi because I'm lazy.
Who will you be with?
I'll travel and share a room with
finnowolf Might also act as his spotter occasionally. Most of the time I'll probably wander around alone or with some random Finnish furs.
Who will you hang out with during the convention?
See above. I'll probably wander around alone a lot and get into chitchats with random furries. I intend to seek out and meet some of my old internet friends and comissionees though.
Are there any panels you might be attending?
I've seen the timetable of events at the convention, and I have some preliminary ideas but I'll definitely be at:
- Your first furry convention
- History of Russian Furry Community and Art
- Kage's Science & Pseudoscience
Will you be suiting?
I don't own a fursuit, even if I did, I probably wouldn't bring it with me for logistical reasons.
Do you do free art?
I'm really not an artist. A stick figure is the most you'll get out of me.
What is your gender?
I'm Male
How tall are you?
181 cm
And how old?
22
Are you taken? Are you looking for a 'mate'?
I'm not taken and I'd definitely like to meet some female furs. I barely know any at all.
Can I talk to you?
Go right ahead. I love to chat, but do mind that I'm a Finn and thus I might be a little blunt and/or have little to say.
Can I touch you?
I'd prefer if you didn't. But If you absolutely have to, ask first. A handshake is okay though.
How can I find you?
I'll probably be wandering around the con fairly aimlessly most of the time, but looking for a guy in 1950's detective attire ala Cole Phelps is a good start.
Can I visit your room?
On my and/or FinnOWolf's permission.
Can I buy you drinks?
Of course! I prefer spirits, I'm not half-russian for nothing y'know.
A little heads up though, I don't drink beer. I never liked its taste.
Can I give you stuff?
I really have to quote Ratino here and say "depends on the stuff". But no harm in asking first.
Can I hug or snuggle with you?
Not really, I'd savior those acts of kindness for close friends and family members. Getting surprise hugs from strangers would be a good way of creeping me out.
Are you nice?
I don't really live up to my nickname. I'm a nice fox.
How long are you going?
From the 19th to 25th.
Do you have an artist table?
Like I said before, I'm not an artist.
Do you have prints/CDs?
I'm still not an artist.
Will you have art in the Art Show? General or Adult Section?
Lol, I wish.
If I see you, how should I get your attention?
Waving, shouting my name or combinations/variations of both are solid ways of getting my attention.
Where will you be most of the time during the days?
Hotel and convention center. I might go check out the surrounding Berlin as well if there's a quiet moment when not much is happening at the hotel.
What/where will you be eating?
I'll see what the Hotel/Berlin offers. Probably something unhealthy.
Can I come with you for fun/food/etc.?
Ask, I generally don't mind company, but sometimes I'd prefer to be alone.
Will you have a sketchbook?
Possibly.
Can I draw in your sketchbook?
If I bring one with me then, sure.
Anything else I should know?
- I have a really loud voice, and when I get excited I'll start shouting and not notice it myself. If I start shouting while having a conversation with you, don't hesitate to tell me that I'm shouting, I won't notice otherwise.
- I'll be dressing up in 1950s attire. I'm supposed to look like an old-fashioned detective, but I'll let you be the judge of that.
- I'm equally fluent in English, Russian and Finnish. So don't hesitate to use any of these languages when talking to me.
See you on Eurofurence!

Here's to a fresh start
Posted 12 years agoIt's been a very interesting year to say the least, a "year of change" as I like to call it.
- Finished with the one-year armed service. I waited to go to the army for my entire life up to that point and now It's been almost a year since I finished it. Good friends and memories remain. *sigh*
- Moved into my own appartment to try my wings a bit so to say.
- Started my studies in a new school.
- A close relative passed away.
- Fairly radical changes to what has been a workplace otherwise untouched by all sorts of worldly changes.
- The majority of remaining services in my hamlet of residence were closed because "Monnnay".
- ect...
It's not all bad really, but the general status quo of my life has changed more during 2013 than any other year this far. Anyways... it's been a whopping 11 hours and 52 minutes of 2014 as the time of writing and it looks promising.
I'd like to wish all of my commissionees, watchers, watchees, friends, acquaintances, commenters, favers and noters the best of everything for the new year of 2014!
Let's see what 2014 has to offer us.
Cheers!Merry whatever-suits-your-worldview everyfur!
Posted 12 years agoSpent a lovely and a peaceful chrismas with my family and I hope you all may spend an equally good time with your loved ones these holidays.
Bloody good Christmas my fuzzy friends! To my watchers
Posted 12 years agoI am humbled by all this attention. Got 6 new watchers within the last 24 hours alone.
I thank you for taking interest in my stuff.
*bows*TwistedPherret's Commissions!
Posted 13 years agoThat's right folks, Twis is open for commissions! Go commssion her here
twistedpherret
She draws lovely stuff, so if nothing else, atleast check out her page. She deserves more attention.
Also, Slenderman.

Back from the "front"
Posted 13 years agoI'm back. (Short version)
I served for the 362 days required in the Karelian brigade and thankfully I became what I strived to become, a driver of a CV9030FIN Infantry Fighting Vehicle. Now I can proudly call myself a tank man/fox. Driving a tank has to be one of the manliest things one can achieve in his lifetime, everything feels puny after beign at the wheel of a 27 ton, 650hp steel monster.
It was a very interesting year for me, since I've been waiting for a chance to repay my country the care it has given me, I didn't lack motivation. I can say with a clean concience that I did my best, always. Seems like the officers agreed because I got promoted to Private First Class/Lance Corporal a few months back.
I made a lot of new friends and I've become very close friends with the Gunner and Commander of my tank. We're all a little eccentric, internet-dwelling gamers so I was very lucky to get them into my vehicle. Because we fit very well together our performance with the tank was to match and our officers gave my crew a lot of praise.
Although there were some nerve-wrecking and miserable moments, all-in-all I was left with a positive experience to remember. Funny thing about the whole servicetime is that you don't really remember the bad experiences, only good ones are the ones I remember properly with only a few exceptions. As much as I liked beign in the army, in the end I'm really happy to be at home again with my parents, friends and beign able to scroll FA without anyone peeking over your shoulder and asking "What'cha lookin' at?".
PS. I asked in my journal, which I wrote before I left, that you wouldn't break the internet in my absence. However, the whole internet has gone crazy! It's all full of Gangnam style, YOLO and whatever. All I asked was for the internet to be in some recognizable state when I return but I'm barely keeping up with the things that have changed! You have failed me. Shame on you.

You're in the Army now
Posted 14 years agoTen-hut!
Yeah, tomorrow I'm being conscripted into the Finnish armed forced (FDF). Meaning that I won't be around the internet or FA much. So please, don't flood me with submissions and such, please? Before anyone misassumes that I'm going to be sent to some cirisis spot in the world to be shot, read the first sentence of this paragraph again and note the word DEFENCE in FDF.
I'll be serving at the Vekaranjärvi barracks for a year where I'll hopefully become a CV9030 (IFV) crew member since the proper tanks were denied from me at the beginning of the conscription itself.
Try not to make the FA go crazy while I'm gone mmkay?

Jolly Christmas to ye my fuzzy friends!
Posted 14 years agoI would like like to wish all of my friends at FinFur, watchers, watchees and all of my fandom-mates a very jolly christmas or anything else that you might be celebrating at this time of the year.
Yesterday, it looked like a black (snowless) christmas would come by this year, but to my surprise the temperature dropped enough to snow during the night and now the scenery over here is very christmasy. I approve!
Take care folks!
