We've been married for 13 years! We're going strong too!

Recently, I came to the realization that the friends I had who hurt me so much in my past were only like a 3ed of my lifetime now. I've been with Chris longer than I were with them. Thinking about it, I feel like I need to dwell less on it. I'm a different person than I was when I was a teen. I've worked on myself and grown since then. A lot of it is thanks to Chris, vids on YouTube lol, and you guys. Chris and you all have given me so much confidence in my self that I love you all! Thanks.

Back to AF, despite not having a week to work this month, I'm expected to hit the bare minimum on my only goal. I hope I can keep this pace as I would hit my goal better on a normal month. I've overall been happy this month because of art fight and trying to set up the Neopets Account. So many people have drawn for me this year on AF and it makes me happy to have some art for once as I don't get to buy it myself much. It also makes me bitter-sweet that people want to draw for me because I'm a nice person/friend. I don't know how to express this. A mixture of negativity in the past around myself and friends. It kind of shocks me when someone goes out of their way to do something nice for me because they consider me a friend or a kind person or an inspiration. I kind of feel like a deer in headlights when given high compliments. Sorry to get a little deep there IDK 😅
It's also a joy to find cool-looking characters, draw them for people, and make them happy. I've out-drawn and upped the quillity this year and I feel pretty proud of myself. I've also been thinking in the past few months my art has gone up a notch, I'm not sure what clicked but I love it. I've been feeling pretty happy with myself this past month. I just need to work on me exercising lol
Maybe you think I'm I'm a hard worker with all the art you see here, but I an lazy IRL I just wanna sit and do art or play games all day long. = w =

I took a break from Neon Glow last month because I was overwhelmed. It's returning back this month. I'm hoping to auto-update it into June so I can focus on Art Fight next month.

The siding and everything with the house is finally done now. We've had a lot of neighbors compliment how it looks which makes me feel good. I like the attention from random people lol
I hope from here, we don't have any more major repairs to the house so we can save up now. (knock on wood)

So.... yeah ... ~sighs~

I'll start where I left off.

We called like 5 electricians. No one in our area returned our call but the one 40 mins away. So we had to pay an extra fee for him to drive out here. He thought the same that maybe a nail hit something to electrify the wall something. It was very strange to him. We turned on the power to see what would happen and the bedroom and computer room was not working FOR WHATEVER REASON. He could tell we were stressed and spending a lot of money and was counting on the crew manager to fix it, so he told him how and left. Crewman cut off the outside wall to find the damage and no wires. he looked lower and found wires but no damage to them. We had to call back the electricion and we were dreading how much it would cost to have him back because he admitted that his company is expensive. at this point, my head was spiraling worrying that people were playing us and this and that. I only got 3 hours of sleep last night in worry about today. (I was like fuck it at some point and worked on commission sketches, which relaxed me.) Oh yeah, my dad came out and looked at everything to try and help figure out the cause. He does most of the electrical work around his house so he doesn't need to pay people. But he is old and just got over chemo so he's not going in our attic. He said it has to be that ceiling fan, a missing wire that didn't get hooked into it. So today, the electricity came. He spent like 2 hours troubleshooting. opening plug boxes, light fixtures, testing currents, and found we have two juncture boxes in the attic along with a master bedroom ceiling light that is still there just covered up. (Those stupid previous homeowners, that room could use a light! 😠) Everything seemed fine but no power to them, so he was thinking, "At this point, it HAS to be something stupid." So he looked at the electrical box and THE F-INF SWITCH to the MASTER BEDROOM AND SECOND BEDROOM TURNED OFF! He flipped it on and everything works! So since Friday, no one has noticed that the switch was off. Not Chris. Not the Crewman. I have no idea what anything is on that thing. Not my dad. not the certified electrician! To be fair, we were all focused on the wrong switch, I think it's all the way at the bottom vs. the other all the way at the top. Anyway, the electrician felt foolish so he didn't charge us for the second trip. Witch is amazing because it was going to cost over $1k for him to troubleshoot.

So now were were at. We've paid off the siding job and we just need the Crew to come back and fix the hole in the side of our house and finish the siding on that wall.

I need to relax my self. I feel like I've been on edge to the point where I feel like a consent sense of dread. I think I just need to do some art and play some games.
Anyway, thanks for reading this, Sorry for all the drama stuff I need to find more positive things to talk about on Journals, but like I feel like not much happens besides work. XD;;

We try to do everything we can to fix this place and it just tosses more money sinks at us.

We're in the middle of getting new siding, gutters, fascia, roof vents and such. This is already almost all our money. While a siding guy was nailing in the siding. The whole long side of our house because electrically charged. What we think is a wall wire is up against the outer wall and the nail is too close sending a charge though the wall. The crew manager had never seen this happen before. We contacted the owner of the company and he said we need to find an electrician to locate the problem. But he's not paying for it because the location of the wire is in violation of the building code and that's on us as owners of the house. The crew manager didn't like that answer and offered to fix it if the electrician finds it.

So we are with out lights for the weekend or however long it takes to get this fix. It could be worse tbh. We still have heating/cooling, kitchen, tv and outlets. Just no lights. Just not sure what this will cost yet.

Kind of shaken up from this and yet it's kind of numb to it becase there's been so much half assed work around this place.
Just wanna keep saying, "just need to iron out all the wrinkles.. right? 😟"

THEY REPLACED MY COMPUTER!!!! They never said anything to us when they got the computer. Then on Friday, we got a message from FedEx we were getting a package from Wacom. It was coming from a different state than where I sent it. So I was hopeful. I got it yesterday and opened it up. Looks the same. But I turned it over and saw the battery access and freaked out. XD With all the crap that we've gone through in the past year, this was an unexpected drop of luck. My old computer was way out of warranty and I was ready for something new as it didn't have the processing power I needed for streams and such. They replaced it because of a known issue. Apparently, I think there might have been a recall I didn't know about with my computer. So I think that's why they replaced it. This newer model has more ram and stuff, and I can upgrade the storage if I want. It's amazing. I named it Eclipse-God in honors that I got it just before the eclipse happened.
I about have it to where I want it so I can get to work.

Jared my old boss ordered a big freelance project. I've been working on it on my phone for the past two weeks. Part one should be about done. Hoping to have most of that done today. I want to do few commissions before he drops part two. @ n @;
I don't think part two will be that bad but you never know with him. An easy job can blow up sometimes. lol

We met with a few more people about the house stuff and went into contract with one of them yesterday. We're going to have new siding, fixed ventilation, and new gutters. The house is going to look really nice after that lol
Sucks it cost so much. We had that in savings but hoping we can save up after that. At least I don't need to worry about the computer anymore. (knocks on wood)

I was holding out hoping to hear back about my computer but I've heard nothin but a "we got your computer! 👍" so I'm working on my phone for another week. 🙄

My old boss contacted me for some freelance work. Just before this happened. Apparently he wants alot this time. I'm trying to get though it quickly but some things are difficult on my phone as I can't do much with fonts, Chris helped me out with that a bit.

I've been a couch potato while working on the phone. My hips got messed up. But I think I figured out how to sit better now.

We've had three guys come out and look at the attic ventilation now. We've only gotten one quote so far.

I should say this is for fixing not only ventilation but also the siding and possibly new gutters if we are pulling it all off anyway. We do have the money if we pull everything together. Just hope for no more things that need fixing right away. 🥲
I keep thinking if we can get over this hurtle, we can work on saving up for things.

So.... this is hard to believe. Because this is a known issue. It sounds like they are going to fix it for free or maybe even give me the newer model. (newer one has a way to replace the battery with out sending it in) So I need to send it to them to get the final verdict.

This means I might be out of a computer for two weeks. As I said I can work from my phone. If your worried about quality, consider I did all the Art Fight pics on my phone lol

Commissions are on hold. I can work on my phone but I don't want to do anything supper elaborate, so I might jump around on my work list.
If I go the Cintiq way (mentioned below), I might order one asap and I have another computer I can work at for the next week.

I'm doing a repair ticket but I feel like it's going to be expensive to get it repaired from what I've seen online.

So I might be getting something new. Thinking about contacting my nephew about getting a tower made and getting a Cintiq.

I've been kind of for seeing this happening. The damn thing has been on edge. It's old. Way out of warranty. Plug falls out. Lasts an hour without cord.

Just with all the stuff we keep having to do around here. I was hoping it would maybe last another year or something.


Might as well give a mold update while I'm at it. The guy came over and looked at things. Our roof is completely not ventilated (not good if you don't know). He sent tests out and we are waiting for results.
He did give suggestions on what would be the best way to fix the ventilation or what would be the cheapest way to fix it. So we need to contact a roofing place and get some vents. The guy looked around and gave us some good suggestions on not just the roof. He was helpful.

I thought I would do a journal talking about things that are going on irl.

As you know. this house we got last year has been insane. 😒

We had a roof leak. That's been fixed now. We thought you get a whole new roof but the guy just patched the area. We also had him take out the chimney. We don't want to use the fireplace as fire is scary, animals come down it, and it's just a thing that makes the roof leak. It's not a brick one just a metal tube inside the house with a wooden structure in the middle of the roof. Anyway, that repair was way cheaper than we expected. We used a guy who was recommended through my dad who was not certified. And now we pay more for it. @ n @;

We tested the roof to make sure it was fixed and when we went to the attic I was shocked to see the mold up there went crazy. White stuff everywhere. Like we had a little, but before this was all over the place and on newer boards we had placed up there. He had a guy come out to look at it and said we needed to test it to see if it's harmful to humans, if it's not just leave it and fix the ventilation in the attic. If it is harmful, it can cost $10k to $20 to remove it. So we are trying to find a place to test it. The kits at stores are cheap but unreliable. So it's like $300 to get a place to come test it.

From talking with the guy we figured out why the ventilation went bad. The guy patching the roof. when he took out the chimney. He covered up the whole and used a leaf blower to move around the blown insolation. So some of it went onto the soffit and blacked the vents. I don't really want to fully blame the guy as who knows, this could have been a lingering issue before and he just made it worse. Part of me thinks there is no way he could block ALL the soffits this way. Chris found out how to remove and replace the soffits so we went up there and there was a LOT of stuff on the soffit. We vacuumed out a bucket's worth of stuff. Not just insolation but also some wasp nests. We want to eventually have all the soffit replaced and siding.

We did get the woodpecker to stop. We took down all the hologram streamers and covered the damn area with a bird net. That worked like a charm. But I was worried a critter would get stuck in it. Yes. Indeed something got stuck in it. We've had it up a long time now so I thought it was going to be ok. But we found a bat tangled in it. We cut the little guy out and gave it some water and I think it's ok. I left it in the knot in the tree and it was gone the next morning.

SPEAKING of bats. we've had something scratching around the walls around our shower. We thought they were bats because it sounded like flapping. We tell people this and they are like MICE RATS SQUARLS! The other day I was walking into the garage and heard the scratching above me in the soffit. I got a broom out and banged on it and a bat flew out over my head! So I've confirmed we have bats. We were about to call an animal place to evict them but then all this mold stuff happened.

I feel like new soffits would fix both of these issues. but we need to make sure it's not dangerous mold. I have hold allergies and I've not been going crazy but I'm also on every allergy suppressant. lol



Chris did the taxes yesterday. I had to reluctantly had to look at what I made last year. It was way less than last year. I felt really bad but he wasn't upset with me. It was a bad year for us with all the house stuff and family drama and covid. I've been having a hard time focusing. I can say none of it is on my customers, if any of you are thinking that. It's all me, I've not been meeting goals as well last I used to. I'm really trying to improve. I do need more customers though as if I was getting stuff done like I should, I would be lacking in commissions. I've been trying to counter this with a banner ad on FA now and then. I also want to explore a new site for commissions. I don't want to fully rely on FA for commissions. With DA and Twitter going to total shit, It's hard to know where people are going from those platforms. (not that I really made commissions from them) FA has been like 85%. The rest has been Discord. I joined Vgan and Blue Sky, I like these places but haven't made orders through them. Unless someone found me from Blue Sky and contacted me on FA or something. (let me know if this is you!) I didn't like other newer art sites. I hear SheezyArt is coming back I want to try that out. I wouldn't mind trying Weesly or InkBunny, what do you think of those places? I kind of polled these last Art Feedback form. But they didn't seem popular. IDK, I figure it out sometime. lol

Next month, my goal is to re-look at my website and update some things, redo Ko-Fi so commissions are listed, bring back Redbubble, and in general look at all my spaces online to make sure people can find my link thoughs.


Sorry this journal is kind of meh, Overall I've been ok. Just trying to get stuff done and I want to do more streams but things get in the way. I'm happy to have my Vtuber avatar. I feel better streaming that way.

One thing that shined this year, that's not happened in the past. Everyone filled out "What do you like about my art" and almost half of you just skipped "What should I improve on?" XD
It just made me happy and made me feel I'm doing good and on the right track. Also PLEASE don't take this as "next year I'll skip that to make KC happy" I really do want to know what to work on. XD

Some of the things people said to work on: Anime Hair, Furry Faces, Expressions. I'll keep these in mind and I've been trying to improve faces lately. I also want to work on hands, this year.
I was suggested to try a more "angular" style I'm not sure what is meant by this. Maybe someone can expand on this for me. =3

That's all I really wanted to comment about for the Artist Feedback. I added sections about Payment usage and Social Media platforms and they all reflect what I do and thoght already. So I don't need to make changes to those things.

In general, I want to take some morning time to focus on other projects. Might be once or twice a week. I haven't figured it out yet. This might be art for myself, Neon Glow, practicing anatomy, Merch art, or sewing. I want to fill out some reference sheets for Art Fight. I might spend some time on Neon Glow this week to get that all setup. I also want to finish my wallet so I can get that project out of the way FOR!!!!! ....... I want to work on making me a fursuit... of Krist. I'm kind of abandoning my Komory suit, but I want to go back to cons sometime as me. X3

I do want to get back into it. I'm not sure if I'll keep doing Neopet streams or not. I would like to set up streaming my sewing. Not sure about that yet.
