Posted 14 years agoIt doesn't happen often, but occasionally I recieve DAMAGED comics. This irritates me greatly. It's usually a single bend a third-ish of the way in from one side.
I want to keep these in collectable condition, kind of fucking hard when they don't arive that way!
I am particularly perturbed today BECAUSE I ordered the new Mega Man comic series and THE FIRST ISSUE arived this way yesterday. FIRST ISSUE DAMN IT. Fuck is that uncool. Uncool enough I intend to bother the mail lady today.
I think there's also supposed to be a signed collectable poster... but that might have run out or might come later? Wouldn't think so though, ordered it months ago.
Anyway, the comic itself was pretty spiffy actually. Summary? First few pages are the begining of Wily's Castle, then a flashback to the origins of Mega Man and Wily's first betrayal and such. Ends with 'Rock' getting his armor and Mega Buster, taking his new name/identity from his new weapon.
Overall I'd say it's pretty faithful to the game series so far really. They've only shown 6 robot masters though so far and they make it seem as if that's all there were. Maybe Wily makes two himself a bit down the road or something, I dunno.
I don't expect it to stay too accurate to the games though, because as an ongoing comic series I'd figure there'll be lots of other adventures and such thrown in.

Posted 14 years agoOkay, so, you are required to catch your versions legend before fighting N. And you don't get to check the nature even if you put it in your party because it goes straight to battle. Then another battle. Then credits.
THEN it auto saves and forces you to keep the one you have.
I admit there are ways around the problem, but it's pretty fucked up and if you don't expect it like I didn't... BAM.
So that sucks dick.
I don't suppose anyone trustworthy wants to hold onto my Pokemon for me while I restart my game?

Posted 14 years agoI'd been feeling kinda crapy physically and kept falling asleep at weird times.
I think it may have been because my wisdom teeth decided to try for a final push, top ones getting through. Think I'll need a procedure for the bottom ones.
Anyway, it explains why teeth were on my brain so much, though I was worrying about other things.

Pimping an indy game (1st FA game review)
Posted 14 years agoJust beat Breath of Death 7: The Begining, pretty sweet game for a dollar/80 MS points folks. Find it under X-Box 360's indy games section.
It's an RPG with a sense of humor that pokes fun of RPGs and it has a unique battle system.
Every level up (which is fairly frequent) you are given two options. Sometimes it'll be one ability or another, two variations on an ability, or two different sets of stat boosts. Fun, very customizable stuff.
Interestingly your HP fully restores after every fight- but you damn well need it that way, game doesn't play around. Your MP however restores only so much and depends on your performance.
The game is fairly short, but I think they sell it short with it's predicted 5-6 hours. I didn't time myself, but it felt more like 10-15.
Dungeons are fairly cleverly designed, making you second guess if you've been everywhere or not or if you've missed treasures.
There is also a score attack mode which I have yet to investigate- and a hard mode as well. Really, there's quite a bit of gameplay in this, especially if you want to try different ability set ups. Worth much more than a dollar.
And for the shit of it here's my game clear data...

Accents
Posted 15 years agoI've come to the realization that writing some accents is pretty damn hard. At least if you're trying to be authentic.
I suppose I could just throw it together as best I can, but I'd rather it not seem cheesey, fake, or offensive.
The accents I'm currently trying to work with are an 'Engrish' sort and a Russian one.
I guess the Russian one wouldn't have to be too fantastic because the character is an American that lives in Russia for a few years, marries a Russian man, and moves back to America- but it sticks some.
The 'Engrish' one is supposed to be very comfortable with English, but just can't lose the sounds.
Anyway, I was thinking of just skirting around the Russian one by just mentioning it and maybe using a few Russian words and phrases. Either that or the words and phrases but with W becomes V and Th becomes Z. She's too American to drop things like 'a' and 'the' and so on...
Which should I do? Some don't like a visable changing in the way you read words it seems. That and not wanting to sound cheesey are what has me considering skirting around it.

I haven't mentioned this to either of them yet, but plan to immediately do so. I'll likely have to wait on some confirmation of buying from them after all.
I don't particularly care what the winner would like me to write about, but some guiding info would be appreciated. Pictures/descriptions/personality descriptions are all good stuff. If you want me to just go nuts with your characters that's fine, if you've a theme but no characters that's also fine. Provide as much info as you'd like.
