Sooo, as some of you may have noticed, commissions for September stalled a bit. But I have a great reason for it! My computer finally arrived! <33

A family friend ended up building it for me at a good price, so with all of the funds you guys helped me raise (and an amazing sale at best buy), I was able to get a dual-screen set up as well! OUGGGH waking up every morning is just HAPPINESS knowing I get to sit down to a beautiful new PC with two big screens and oooh goodness I'm just so freakin' happy. ;w;

ANYWAY. I've been transferring files and stuff, and getting everything all set up on the new PC, so that's all taken a bit of time -- and before I knew it the month was almost over!

However, now that everything's all nice and settled, I'm bookin' it on these commissions. c: So updates will be coming very soon if you haven't gotten them already.

Due to the high volume of commission requests I've been getting, I've decided to raise my prices just a smidge. I hope this won't be too much of a disappointment..

I certainly will still be holding the occasional (or not so occasional) sales with big discounts, but I would like to raise my base prices a bit, to hopefully cut back on the amount of requests I'm getting.

So for the entire month of September, I will leave commissions open for those who'd like to grab one last slot at my current prices!

I will post a public queue in my journal (if you'd like to be excluded, please be sure to let me know so I can mark you as anonymous on the list).

Rather than tackling all of the commissions at once like I normally do, September commissions will be entirely first come, first serve. This means putting your order in sooner will get you a completed commission sooner. I'm not sure if I'll continue to do this once October hits, we'll see how well things go in September! (Okay, nope, can't do first-come-first serve. That was quick. I am way too ADD for that. I'm still going to try and do them relatively in order, but I'll probably do them in groups a few at a time rather than one at a time in order.)

On a related note, I've got a huge database of article, interview, and tutorial ideas -- but if anyone has more ideas to throw my way, feel free! What sort of articles would you like to read? I know we already covered tutorials in a previous journal, but any more ideas are always welcomed! And anyone in particular you absolutely need to see interviewed?!

Also, I've been feeling extremely under the weather for the past few days. I'm sure most of it's just nerves; I'm going with my sister to an extremely important doctor's visit tomorrow and I'm pretty nervous about it. My progress on commission work has been lagging a bit, and I think it's because I need a bit of a breather. Generally I try to work all day on commissions, but for the past few days I feel I haven't been as productive as I normally am.

So I'm taking tomorrow (Sunday, August 11) off, having a computer-free day.

A few of you wanted to see pictures of my new baby goldfish, and I've been trying to get decent images of them. They're doing very well, and are happy little things! Unfortunately, I am not anywhere near a decent photographer, and the little ones are quite active (which is good, haha).

At this point, I'm starting to think Zen, the calico, is actually a Ryukin rather than a fantail. Unlike her counterpart, Mustang, who is definitely a fantail, she only has 3 plumes to her tail (rather than four), and she is already starting to develop a bit of a pot belly and back hump.

But if anyone has any expertise in the area, please let me know! :3

Persephone is also flourishing in her new environment, but I haven't gotten any pictures of her. She's always been kind of masculine and aggressive for a female, and has decided that her change of scenery was a good opportunity to start building a huge bubble nest! I had to dismantle it to change her water, but she's working on a new one, and I'm hoping to get a picture before I have to change her water again.

I wanted to thank everyone for their brilliant ideas left in comments on my last journal! <3 I've got a lot of options to explore!

I'm in serious need of a new computer. Each passing month makes that more and more apparent. With my regular commission money going toward monthly bills, it's difficult for me to save up enough. So I'm looking at other ways to raise the funds.

Ideally I would do a donation raffle, but that seems to be against Paypal's TOS -- and lord knows I don't need them digging around in my business.

I've been thinking about doing a GoFundMe project; has anyone had any experiences with the site? Would anybody be interested in donating toward something like that?

Does anyone have any suggestions for lightweight streaming programs? My computer can't handle Livestream, though it is ideal. Join.me is light enough, but cannot share sound -- and I really would like to be able to talk while I'm streaming.

On another note, a lot of people have been wanting to contact me via Skype. I tend to be very shy and prefer slower methods of communication, such as email or PM. But I do use Skype once in a while.

From now on, I'd like to ask that you please do not ask for updates on commissions unless my status is set to Do Not Disturb!
