Posted 13 years agoThis election was a mess, for most people they believed this was a battle between two evils, which is true. Obama won, which is great, he is the lesser of two evils, Because Romney favors the rich with his policies, and in addition, he sucks at foreign policy from what I hear
But who did I vote for you ask? I voted for Jill Stein, because I am apart of the Green Party. I think eventually people are gonna get sick of the two party system like I am, and try to make a difference by electing a third party candidate into office. Demopublicans are all the same, the sooner people realize that, the better

What don't I do should be the question. most likely I am gaming, working, listening to music, or just doing whatever. lol
4. List your classes in school from the ones you like the most to the ones you hate.
I liked all my IT classes, I like learning more about technology, mainly computer science.
And for the hated one, it's definitely algebra class, I just can't learn it no matter how hard I tried
5. What is your biggest goal for this year?
I just want to survive and keep going on with my life, find a way to make some money, and be happy
6. Where do you want to be in 5 years?
Hopefully a lot better off financially, live with my boyfriend in our own place in Canada, and hopefully find my place in the world

In my opinion, the worst part of my life. I graduated from high school 2 years ago, went to college for a year and dropped out (long story explained in a past journal) and now I'm just trying to find my place in this world, and probably gonna go back to college next year.

It seems like right when I'm about to climb up and out of the hole of depression and self-hatred, someone kicks me back down into the hole. My life has felt like that for the last 5 years and hasn't really changed...what can you do?
13. Does time really heal all wounds?
This is how I feel about wounds, which I read about somewhere where they did this demonstration in a school. Get a piece of paper, step on it, crunch it up into a ball, do what you want to it as long as you don't rip it. Now try to straighten out the paper again. Now you will see that you cannot. While you can try as hard as you can to straighten the paper again and make it look good at new, it will never happen, the paper is scarred for life. Get my point? Wounds never heal, we just learn to accept the wounds, they never go away.
14. How do you handle a rainy day?
I stay indoors, watch TV, play video games, read a book. And sometimes even go outside in the rain to enjoy the rain, who says I can't?
15. Which is worse...losing your luggage or having to sort out tangled holiday lights?
Losing my luggage, you can always untangle the lights, you aren't losing anything. Honestly this is a weird question, I don't even know if I'm answering it correctly

Great, both of my parents are really loving and still care about me a lot even to this day, without them I wouldn't be the great person I am today. Sure they have made their mistakes in the past in parenting me, but no one is perfect, everyone makes mistakes. And besides, my parents were younger than I am right now, when I was born!

Yes, it may be overwhelming and stressful, but it's essential, especially if it's a matter of life and death

People who have chronic depression are depressed because they see the world for what it is, and don't sugar-coat anything. It's a world of suffering, hate, selfishness, and war

I've changed my dreams many times. At one point I wanted to be a cop, then I wanted to be a secret agent, then I wanted to be a pilot, then a chef, then I just wanted to be an entrepreneur and take over the family businesses and run them to the best of my ability. Then I got an interest in the computing universe, and here I am today

Many times, everyone deserves a second chance, including me

Well, it started out as me messaging Rlew on ADISC telling him about how I used to wet the bed like he does now, and wish him good luck with it. Then we started talking more through PMs on ADISC, then eventually we exchanged AOL instant messenger names, then we started chatting on there about general stuff (gaming, computers, politics, etc). Then eventually we wanted to voice chat, so then we started voice chatting with each other, finally getting to see each other's faces and talk that way (At this point we are just friends) Soon enough we decide to become brothers, which lasted about a month. During this time we got closer and closer to each other (and I could swear I could feel myself being pulled toward him) until eventually Rlew was the first one to have the courage to say "I want to spend the rest of my life with you" I can't tell you how happy that made me. So ever since then, I've mainly been his cub in the relationship, although I take care of him too sometimes. Well, it started out as me messaging Rlew on ADISC telling him about how I used to wet the bed like he does now, and wish him good luck with it. Then we started talking more through PMs on ADISC, then eventually we exchanged AOL instant messenger names, then we started chatting on there about general stuff (gaming, computers, politics, etc). Then eventually we wanted to voice chat, so then we started voice chatting with each other, finally getting to see each other's faces and talk that way (At this point we are just friends) Soon enough we decide to become brothers, which lasted about a month. During this time we got closer and closer to each other (and I could swear I could feel myself being pulled toward him) until eventually Rlew was the first one to have the courage to say "I want to spend the rest of my life with you" I can't tell you how happy that made me. So ever since then, I've mainly been his cub in the relationship, although I take care of him too sometimes. Posted 13 years agoToday is a really slow day and just another day to think about myself and what I want to do with my life. I'm so unsure of what to do. I've been between being a airplane pilot, to a chef, to entrepreneurship, to IT. Now, until 2011 I really thought that IT was the number 1 choice of a career opportunity for me. I got my CompTIA A+ certification back in high school in 2008. From then on, I thought it would be smooth sailing from then on out. Because IT made sense to me and I enjoyed working with technology, I thought College would be a breeze and I'd get a good full time job doing what I love doing for the rest of my life and live happily ever after. Of course, life is never that easy.
I graduated from High School in 2010 and then entered College in the fall in a CIT Infrastructure course for an Associates of Applied Science degree through Ferris State University. I studied networking technologies in my fall semester, and ended up with the Network+ certification after I passed the exam (and luckily, I recieved it before 2011 started, so it's a lifelong certification. Comptia's A+, Net+, and Security require you to renew them every 3 years after 2010) so I ended up with a 3.0 gpa in Networking Technologies. I was so proud of myself and seeing a great future ahead of me, that is, until my Spring Classes started...
I took the infamous Active Directory Configuration course, which is a Microsoft class which covers the material for the Microsoft Technology Specialist certification (MCTS) That is when reality smacks me in the face. The instructor says outright that this class is extremely difficult and most of us probably won't pass it. I immediately thought "NO PROBLEM" but oh man, I was wrong, very wrong.
The basics were pretty easy, we learned how to install Windows Server 2008 R2, use server core, setup user accounts, group policies, all that good stuff. Now when it comes to exam time, this is where Microsoft makes this class a Bit¢h to pass. You are required to implement group policies and troubleshoot problems MICROSOFT'S WAY! This is where I have problems, I am good at learning, but I am NOT good at regurgitating information. I can't remember someone's opinions and apply them to the workforce, I just can't do that, it's impossible for me. I like to learn and use my own methods that I find most suitable. Most questions on the exam gave you a situation, and you had to pick the answer that not only fixes the issue, but fixes it in Microsoft's way of doing things. I ended up finishing the class with a 2.0gpa (which is failing, my College required you to get a 3.0gpa minimum to pass in CIT classes)
Look, I know it's a Microsoft certification, but god damn. This is one problem of a person affected with Autism, you can only learn things that click in your head, our heads are wired differently and we learn differently. We HAVE to understand what we are being taught, or we are simply wasting our time, because we won't remember it. (at least that's how I am) So now I'm at a loss about what I want to do with my life. I can't understand math to save my life, I've always had problems with Algebra and no matter how much time I put into it, I just can't learn it. So it always felt like a huge waste of time to me. So I need a job that has low Mathematical need, plus it needs to interest me. I've been spending most of my time browsing career opportunities since I dropped out of college after my spring semester in 2011, but to no avail.
So here I am, wondering what my future has in store for me. It's really hard being an autistic individual during such competitive times. Although we legally have equal opportunity employment, everyone knows that's all a loud of BS. They can deny you the job and not even have to give a reason for saying no.
I'm trying not to worry about my future too much. But If I don't come up with a good idea of a career path I might wanna try by next year, I'm applying for FAFSA and I'm gonna give IT another go by studying other CIT classes such as Security+ and Linux+ I just hope I make the right decision. This is one of the toughest points in my life, where I gotta find my place in this world, so I can function as an individual and be the best person I can be. Overall I have really overcome a lot over the years to be this high-functioning while having autism (not aspergers) as I couldn't talk until I was around 6 years old.

But after a while we both got closer and closer until it turned into a relationship. Now we are as happy as can be.

I'm from MI in the US, and he's from Alberta in Canada. Yes, long distance relationship but we both want it to work, so it will. (I hope)

Life as a person affected with Autism part 1: Talking
Posted 13 years agoI'm gonna start a little series here. Just to clarify, I am not self-diagnosed. I have been diagnosed by a psychologist two times. Once when I was 4, again at 18.
I'm not very good at talking about it off the top of my head, I'm better at answering questions I'm asked about it, so if you got any just go ahead and post a comment! Anyways let's get started
To start, I wasn't speaking any words until I was 6 years old, no kidding. I was potty trained a year before I started talking! My mom told be if she ever tried to talk to me, I would bite her. I just didn't like talking at all, and I didn't even attempt to talk because, if my memory serves me right, I was confuzzled at all the different sounds and "words" adults would spring together, it stimulated my brain too much and I couldn't learn. But when my mom got these books that read to you (I think they were leapfrog) I started repeating what the books said, my mom said I sounded "Robotic" at first, but then I started learning from what commercials, radio, and TV Shows said and I learned more words. And before you know it I had an accent (my accent if you talk to me, is heavily Michigan-influenced)
Honestly I'm really lucky to be talking, most people with classic autism aren't talking, that's why most people mistake me for having Aspergers, which I wish was true. I wish I had a strong interest and something I'm genius at! I wish I could do long algebra equations in my head! That sort of thing. :P I will talk about my schooling later on, for now I'll just say I've done pretty well thanks to all the help I got, I was able to graduate from high school with a regular diploma
