Updated Gallery
Posted 2 years agoA majority of the characters have their own folders now!
The general idea now is that you’d go to the “Reference Sheets” folder under the “Character Roster,” find who you’re looking for within those 3 pages, and then find that character’s name under one of the other character sections.
Those who don’t have a direct folder are now in the “Additional Characters” folder, which at the moment is also 3 pages. As more characters (eventually) come in, I’ll likely rotate out folders of those who have less art into this folder and that’ll be the “system.”
When all else fails, I use tags extensively. But yeah, things should be much easier to find now!

Anniversary Post
Posted 3 years agowell, it's officially been a year since I made my first post here
and man what a ride it's been
I've always been on the outside looking into the community but it's still so wild to me that I can just interact with so many people, it's awesome even though I occasionally feel some sadness sometimes
sorry I haven't been as responsive to comments and the like, been pretty tired/drained/exhausted for the past few months or so and funny enough, this gallery is one of the few things that really keeps me going
I don't know if that's good or sad but I'll take all I can get during these times
But thanks so much for supporting the stuff I get from some really cool artists and also for what goes through my mind for ideas

Are y’all interested in art with “mistakes?”
Posted 4 years agoUsing “mistakes” at the moment for lack of a better word.
Recently, I’ve noticed more often than not when commissioning something, there’ll be at least 1-2 noticeable things in the character’s ref sheet that tend to get ignored (ex: in Seymour’s case, the lack of black on the ear tips, collar marking, etc.). Usually I’d (nicely) point out the error and ask if it could be added/changed. Sometimes it works, other times we “roll with the punches” to find a workable solution, but other times I find myself waiting months to realize that my request had pretty much all been forgotten as the art gets posted with these errors.
Not a huge deal, but it does make me wonder if there’s really a “point” in waiting for items to get fixed long after the artist’s forgotten them. Like at that point there isn’t much of an effective value in either the artist working on something that’s long been paid for or for me to circle back more than once to ask about it.
At the same time I wonder if others will actually care about whether or not something’s missing. I mean there will be some obvious ones showing but idk I still feel kinda off about having it shown??? There’s already a few things in the gallery that fit this description that I kinda just look the other way on but at a certain point it feels kinda dull just having it sit in a Dropbox *waiting* for me to replace it with an updated version. And at a certain point I feel like I’d rather just post it and move on.

Seymour Alt?
Posted 4 years agoTL;DR: I'm thinking of making an alternate, more "natural" color palette for Seymour.
I guess I've been thinking about this for the past few weeks, or even long before Seymour's current iteration (seriously, I have so many versions of the dude for the last 2-3 years that will probably never see the light of day), but seeing someone else pull the trigger on their own OC made me kinda "inspired" to do it myself.
Obviously I know that I'm probably going to go through with it anyway. There isn't necessarily any "risks" other than just exerting more time and effort into making it a reality. Nothing will happen whatsoever to the current Seymour, just thinking of having a more "expected" palette that would be fun to swap around every now and then (and I guess to also bypass the "no toxic colors" or natural color preference that some artists may have). I don't think I'd call him "Seymour" though. I have a name in mind already (Seamus) and kinda want to use him in ways that I can't necessarily use the current Seymour (whereas Seymour is more of a "destination" of contentedness, maybe "Seamus" would be the process to get there, where I'd showcase more somber/solemn pieces. Since I can't shake the history major out of me, I'd also like to use him in pieces depicting earlier time periods.
Made the first iteration of Seamus about half an hour ago. To put it bluntly: he looks more like a feline than an otter. This is kind of hilarious actually; people tend to see the otter in the current Seymour much more than the cat/feline side (so like 80% otter, 20% feline?). So I'd think that they'd be good, complementary "opposites" in that regard.

Started using scraps more!
Posted 4 years agoAdmittedly, I felt like the main gallery was getting a bit too clogged with multiple variations of the same artworks. So, I’ve just started using the scraps space to post “cleaner” versions, as well as some alts people may be interested in. Check it out! Or don’t, it’s up to you :p also feel free to suggest any themes or ideas you’d like to see in the future!
Probably a long, "overdue" journal
Posted 4 years agoHey!
I guess this is my first journal, huh...I made this account like a little over two years ago, and only NOW just started using it a month ago! I guess actually finalizing my OC just clicked a switch in me...although I've been interested in furry stuff since the single digits. Been here a long time, moreso a lurker and all that.
Not entirely sure where I'm going here, but I do want to immensely thank everyone who's given me a watch or favorite. I feel kinda bad for not getting to everyone (I tend to get a bit overwhelmed easily!), but know that each and every one is greatly appreciated! I do hope that I'll be able to show more stuff that y'all may be interested in <3
...that being said, I do have a TON more things coming up soon if you're interested in sticking around owo'
