Art prints now available
Posted a year agoHey! If you're interested in decorating your walls with my art I've opened a print shop on Inprnt. :>

Let me know if there's any piece you loved, but don't see it there. I'm still in the process of deciding what to upload.

I'm on Bluesky and other sites
Posted 2 years agoHey! I have a Bluesky account if you're interested in following me there: https://bsky.app/profile/thetundrag.....st.bsky.social
I currently have 4 invite codes too if you'd like to join. :3
I'll probably start to prioritize Bluesky over Twitter for art posting in the future, it seems much better so far. Especially love that you can have a feed that only shows the posts from people you follow without replies and reposts and there's even one for checking what your followers are posting.
I also gave some other pages a try, but I'm not sure yet which one of these I'll put more energy into, posting to so many places can get quite tedious. :')
Cara - an ArtStation-like site, but without AI-generated images
Artgram - another ArtStation replacement without AI gen stuff, but feels quite inactive
Inkblot - Saw a lot of recommendations for this, but imo its still way too buggy and the UI is not the best either, everything loads very slowly. But I'll keep an eye on it, maybe it will improve over time.
Artfol - I still need to properly start posting here, but the site itself feels well designed so far (maybe a dark mode would be nice)

Taking a break from Patreon
Posted 3 years agoHey!
I just wanted to make a public announcement that I'm taking my Patreon page on a break starting in September.
My main reason is to avoid a burnout that has been building up in me since the start of summer and to also make the time for redesigning my rewards to avoid a similar case in the future.
I'm not sure when I'll relaunch yet, but in the meantime, I'll use my ko-fi page to occasionally post some exclusive sneak peeks of works in progress. Here's the link for those who are interested: https://ko-fi.com/thetundraghost
Thanks so much for reading! <3

Commission plans and other news.
Posted 4 years agoHey! I just wanted to let you guys know that while I originally planned to open commissions in January I'll need to delay it until mid-February.
Among the things that made me delay opening commissions is a wisdom teeth extraction surgery that happened last week Friday. I was pretty anxious about it during the whole of January because I occasionally already felt pain coming from that area, and I only managed to get an appointment at the end of this month. On the day the surgery was supposed to happen they suddenly had to cancel it, so I had to quickly call other places to get a new appointment ASAP. Luckily, I did find one where I didn't have to wait another month, only another week, and right now I'm in the healing process with occasional pain and a swollen face.
The pain isn't that terrible, but it still makes it hard to focus while drawing, so I'll probably try to rest as much as I can in the next few days. The dentist will remove the stitches on Friday and I think I'll be able to get back to drawing normally after that. ^^

Happy Holidays!
Posted 4 years agoI'm wishing everyone a very warm Holiday period and much strength and safety for the next year!
Do you guys have any plans, hopes, or wishes for 2022?
For me, it's mostly the same as previous years: keep creating, keep learning more and keep developing my skills as an artist. And of course, keep hoping that whatever being takes shape in the process will find its way into people's hearts. Keep hoping that I can create something that brings joy to someone, somewhere in the world. :)
It looks like we'll be able to visit both my and my partner's parents this year and I'll be AFK for a week, so brb! <3

Regarding the tablet question
Posted 4 years agoI just wanted to say thank you to everyone who shared their thoughts and experiences regarding my question about graphic vs display tablets back in summer!
I'm sorry I didn't get back to you individually, but I still wanted to let you know that I really appreciate that you took the time to comment. <3
The information you guys shared helped me a ton with coming to a decision. I ended up buying a Huion Kamvas 22 Plus back in September and I'm loving it so much!
Previously I only had graphic tablets and used those for 12 years, so I was pretty accustomed to that type of setup. I didn't expect that a display tablet would feel like such a big improvement but holy shit, it feels absolutely amazing. I also really love how close I am to my digital pieces with this setup, it feels more intimate.
It did require me to completely reorganize my workspace, but luckily my desk is big enough for that, so it wasn't such a big deal.
And I thought getting used to drawing on the display is going to take longer, but it felt pretty satisfying and natural very quickly.
Idk what else to add, so if you have any questions regarding my experience with the new tablet feel free to ask. :>

Regular vs display tablet - which one do you prefer?
Posted 4 years agoHello! I'm wondering if anybody had the chance to work with both regular graphic tablets and display tablets before? :)
In case it's unclear, by regular I mean the kind of graphic tablets which you need to connect to a computer and don't have their own display and by display tablets I mean the ones which you need connect to a computer and has their own display where you see what you're working on.
I really scared myself yesterday, I accidentally spilled tea on my drawing tablet, hahah :') It wasn't turning on for a while, but luckily, putting it aside and letting it dry helped and now it seems to be correctly working again. The experience made me wonder though which tablet would I pick if I would need to replace it in the future.
I started to consider getting a display tablet, but since they are quite expensive I would like to get some feedback about what they are like compared to a graphic tablet.
I'm wondering about things like:
Are they a LOT more comfortable to work on?
Did you feel like switching to one had a positive effect on your work's quality?
Do you feel like you can work faster with it?
Is the heat they produce bearable?
Feel free to add anything else, you've experienced with them. I really appreciate any information you can share with me regarding display tablets! :>
The model that caught my eye is the Huion Kamvas 22 plus in case anybody had the chance to use one before.

Absence due to illness
Posted 5 years agoA week ago I got sick and spent most of the days lying in bed, drinking lots of tea and sleeping. I don't know if it's corona or not, I had most of the symptoms, but luckily they were pretty mild.
Because of this, I wasn't able to work, so my apologies to everyone who's waiting for art from me. I'm feeling a little better now and hopefully, I'll be able to get back into work soon.
Thank you so much for your patience!
I hope you guys are safe and healthy during these crazy times. <3

Artist in need of help!
Posted 7 years agoHello!
My dear friend
JWiesner is in a tough situation in his life and he could use every bit of support you can spare right now!
Please check out his gallery. He's currently open for commissions, if you are interested in his work, you can find his price list here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/29345334/
He is also open for donations, you can find the link to that at the top of his page. Every little bit helps, but If you donate more than $10, he will feature you for a week on his page.
Spreading the word about his art could also help a lot if you can't afford to support him with money right now! :> He's currently holding an art raffle on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/p/Bpxro2zHL2p/
where you can win a sketch of a character of your choice if you help his work to reach more people.
Thank you for taking your time to read this! <3

Back from vacation
Posted 7 years agoYesterday night we safely arrived home from our seaside vacation in Croatia.
It was really wonderful, but I wish we could have stayed longer. I live in a town that's rather shitty, smelly, dirty and noisy, so this short escape from it was really recharging hahah, but it's time to get back to work! I need a few days to prepare my new price list with examples, so I'll be open for commissions this weekend.

Vacation - commissions opening afterwards
Posted 7 years agoMy parents yesterday suddenly decided to go on a vacation and take me with them, so I'll be gone for five days.
We departed yesterday evening and arrived safely this morning to a small beautiful town in Croatia, one we have visited several times before.
I'm also planning to open commissions once I'm back home, so keep an eye out for the announcing journal/submission. This time my price list will contain various types of commission from traditional fully rendered black and white art to digital cel-shaded illustration.

University is over
Posted 7 years agoThe opening of our diploma exhibition was last week, which means this chapter in my life is over.
I could not fully complete my graduation this semester due to a very stupid reason (miscommunication),
so I still have to wait to receive my diploma, but it's not a big deal.
I was going to write a long journal about my experience in art university (in short: it was rather demotivating),
but I feel too tired for that right now and need some time for regeneration and to create lots of healing art. :>

Posted 10 years agoFinally I have time to share a bit of informations!
The sublet turned out to be fantastic! There's enough space for everyone and it's really cozy. It's also really cheap compared to what sublets usually costs in the area.
My roommates are awesome too! We are all artists working in different areas, so we can help each other out with informations.
Since this week was still only a "registration" week at school, I didn't have much classes yet, but I do liked the ones I attended so far.
I'm still figuring out my schedule for commissions. There are two days when I only have two classes, but I also have to make time for homework, since we are going to get a lot of that. I guess the best thing I can do is to work on commissions on weekends, but I'll write again about this once I know for sure! :)
