Posted 5 years agoI had the revelation upon posting my most recent story that I've had this profile for ten years. Ten years feels like it should have been an eternity; while so much has happened in the past ten years, it is altogether amazing that it has been a decade.
I love those of you I've come to know. I look forward to knowing more of you. I look forward to sharing with you much beauty, joy, grief, pleasure.

Posted 9 years agoSometimes I feel trapped in my own mind, where the desire to be cynical is almost overwhelming. I don't want to be cynical. I try really hard not to be cynical. But it's a hard feeling to fight, when there is so much shit in this world.
But there are good people out there. They help. You help, since I know some of them will see this journal.
Perhaps the world and universe is pointless. Perhaps any gleaming light of joy is just a distraction from the reality of this hopeless existence.
Might as well try to be anyway. Because I'll be damned if I'm going to let something like fate fuck with me.

Posted 9 years agoIt has been a strange year. Wonderful things have happened. Terrible things have happened.
I've been forced to reconsider some very basic beliefs and move on from some things that were very dear to me.
Is life a zero-sum game? When you gain, must you also lose? Terrible things happen. That much is true in this life and in this world full of sin. But at the same time, there are some wonderful things out here.
I do not know what the future entails. I have both greater certainty and uncertainty than I've ever had before in this life. But I suppose life is also full of contradictions.
To all of you who are my friends: thank you. You are a blessing.
We shall see what comes in this year ahead.

Slowly returning from retirement

As you probably noticed, the other day I posted the first story I've written for public consumption in about two or so years. And I must admit, it was actually... fun... to write. As such, you may be seeing more from me in the near future.

Posted 14 years agoI'm afraid that my laptop has died, and accordingly, I am going to have, at most, intermittent access to the internet, and, especially FA. Additionally, I will have no access to my WIP and completed documents. The earliest I'm looking to be able to return is in two weeks.

Some Submissions Forthcoming

Now that I've been eliminated from the Charnival Competition, I figured I may as well and post some of my entries, since I've been so bad about posting other stories. I'll post these once every few days until all five have been posted. Hopefully during that time I'll get the inspiration to start working on more regular stuff.
Some notes:
Stories 1-3 are sequential, but story 4 'reboots' the character's story on the island.
P.S. My character was Zak Bundy, the thylacine.
P.P.S. Upon figuring out why FA wasn't reading certain punctuation, I'm going through and re-uploading all my previous submissions to fix it. No more funny squares and question marks!

Posted 14 years agoTraveled home the last couple of days to be with my family as we put our incredibly old family dog to sleep. She was a good dog and lived a long life, but it was still difficult to finally see her go. Prayers, thoughts, etc. are appreciated.

I haven't forgotten about this place, I promise! I've got four (4) stories in the works:
1) My overdue Masquerade story involving nonmorphs, castration, and other goodness
2) A special gift story for a very handsome, good friend of mine, involving morphs, castration, and a more lighthearted style
3) A second Ratchet story: I've got two ideas swirling about in my head, one inspired by Kuma-Kun in a comment to my previous story, the other involving a different scenario (ending, of course, with Ratchet losing those deliciously fuzzy bits)
4) A new story in TheUltaFox series, in which TheUltaFox encounters someone rather big and bad (yet still involves castration *gasp*)
#1 is mostly there, needing some final tweaks and general getting-over-writers-block-iness
#2 is outlined and much of the action is fleshed out
#3 is purely in idea form
#4 has a skeletal outline
So! That's what's coming. Enjoy.
