FWA went about a million times better then i EVER expected it would.
I was nervous and terrified but fate had good things in mind for me.
I cannot believe how amazing everything went and I am thoroughly happy I decided to brave it out and go.

Once I got upgraded to the dealers den everything turned out okay. Everything. I broke even on the very first day and my mind was blown. I never thought this would happen and for the first time I genuinely felt that I could do this and make a living out of it.

TL;DR version: I will be taking a break until further notice for commissions.The only folks getting any sort of artwork from me will be through my patreon, conventions, or if I deliberately ask for characters to inspire me

This is something I've put a lot of thought into and talking it over with hubs last night I think I've made my choice. I will be doing an extended break from commissions. This will be until further notice, minus the occasional pre-con badges/commissions or special requests from friends. Over the last twoish months I've been going through waves of some pretty harsh depression mainly focusing about my artwork and where I'm going with it. My back pain hasn't been helping. But I will be focusing on my skills and honing them in. I need to find my creative self that's been lost for so many years. I need to focus on my art and what I want to draw, what inspires me and what being an artist means to me.
I love you guys, dearly. the furry community has an extremely special place in my heart and I could never leave it, but I may never take regular furry commissions again. I need to take time to work on things for myself versus creating things for others. For those that I said I would do artwork for, I'll still be willing to do it and those I currently owe artwork to I'm still going to finish it and I forever thank you for your unending patience. I promise I havnt forgotten about you I am working on things, just very very slowly.

Otherwise I will probably be really quiet on FA and most social sites. I'll still be here supporting my favorite artists and talking with friends I'll just most likely be quiet about it.

My choice could be permanent or i could wise up in a few months and come back to taking commissions on fa. I'm unsure.

Right now I've even been debating on no longer attending FWA. I'm 90% positive I wont break even, which really is one of the only reasons I was going to go. (I'd still pay for my bedspot Arrow) I will make my choice the closer it comes.

The good: Life is really great so far, we've been able to pay off all our major credit card debts and a few debts that where bogging our lives down

The Meh: I'm not sure about my surface pro, I'm a bit disappointed though the tablet itself isn't to blame. If anything it's been great for working away from my desk and been an awesome way to get up and move around, but the PhotoShop program(the new CC thing they have for tablets) is kinda poopy. I'm not sure if its the tablet, the pen or the program or all three hating each other but there is some pretty bad lag with even smaller files. I was also super upset to find out you can't use any Bluetooth keyboard with a pro 3..but because I bought it for nearly $250 less then what it was worth I'm pretty confident If I want to and really don't like it I can sell it later and at least break even. Its still a great tablet otherwise and does good to replace a laptop if you're curious about getting one..it just isn't the greatest for art..stuff..

The bad/really shitty: finally went to the new chiro today and after looking at my xrays my back is pretty much crap. Basically my entire spine is rotating to the right as well as leaning to the right and my neck vertebra are curving in the completely opposite direction. The chiro basically told me there is a good chance I will always have headaches/neck pain but hopefully chiropractic care will help some. He didn't even bother taking back xrays ANC told me if the adjustments don't help they ill take xrays. But I already know Ive got stenosis, which he told me he can't do anything about but will hopefully release some of the pain. He admitted they will most likely not be able to get it back to normal. I'm most likely going to try to contact a back specialist and see what they think. From what I can tell my back is actual worse then what it was when I went to the chiro nearly a year ago. My lower back has been hurting nearly as bad, sometimes worse then my upper and it's left me with large bouts of depression and fear. I've literally been afraid to work because of the pain which in turn is causing me to feel crappy in general. Right now chiro looks like it'll be $40 a visit and I'll have to go probably 3 times a week for a while. They are hoping that will be able to lower my payments with my insurance, but most likely I'll have to call them about it. Right now I'm kinda scared because if I can't get better I don't know if I can continue to risk sitting at a desk which will continue to destroy my body. I love being an artist, but I can't risk everything to continue to do it. I'm pretty much willing to do anything to fix this, even if it means surgery. Right now I'm using some topical pain stuff, but finding this out has me fairly put out. I've been thinking about joining a local yoga/therapy group though I'm unsure my insurance will cover the costs for it. It's something I'll be looking into. I've got to hope that if I can strengthen my body I will beat this pain. I am glad that for once in our lives we have the money and I don't have to worry about screwing us financially.

No I'm not going all I"M DEPRESSED or anything, in fact I'd say this is one of the first times I've been filled with hope and happiness in a very long time.

I'll be on "temporary" internet leave or at least social media leave for about 2 weeks. I will be updating my patreon, finishing commissions, and working hard to get some stuff finished for FWA (Which right now I've only got one thing for the art show and I kinda hate myself for doing that *facepalms* Some commissions might be held back a bit in order to push some stuff for the art show, but i may just not have much to show for FWA...oops. I will be opening for badges (I'll have examples) once I officially return.

I will be responding to emails: tidmatiger[at]hotmail.com and I will/may contact folks through FA but for the most part I will be off skype/FA/facebook/any art site in order to try and keep myself from getting distracted. So you probably wont hear from me unless I've got a question or something comes up. I promise I'm not leaving and I will still check my fa at least once every two days. This will also be a challenge to myself to try and keep myself from getting "stuck" on social sites. The one exception i MIGHT make is twitter as I'm hoping I'll get plenty of traditional art stuff done and twitter is the easiest place to post traditional.

OH and if anyone was wondering, I found an amazing deal on a Microsoft pro 3 i5 for only $750 (had to look hard for it) Still has a year warranty and 30 day full refund guarantee. Since I had already saved up about 650 after commissions hubs said I could go ahead and get it so I'd have enough time to get used to it before FWA. Thats hopefully showing up today and will improve my life and workflow ten fold.

As a quick update for my back: taking it easy has been working out pretty well. I still find myself hurting and needed to be pretty careful on how I sit or position myself for how long. I've been stretching like a mofo which seems to be helping, though I've got generalized soreness/stiffnes and find i cant sit or stand for more then an hour without feeling the pain creep in. I've got a doctors appointment for next week that will hopefully end in xrays and eventual insurance covered Chiro appointments..

Anyways. I have a LOT I need to get done in the next few weeks, including MANY non-art related stuff(another reason why I've been so quiet and busy). The BEST way to contact me will be through email only.I will probably check skype somewhat often but only because I've got certain contacts that can only contact me through that, but for the most part I'll be non existent. SO, Wonderful things have been happening and it's changed everything for the better. Just this weekend hubs disability claim had finally gone through and we were ASTONISHED to find that that he'll actually be getting a check each month that will put our financial status at GREAT ease. With the Backpay that he'd gotten we were/are able to get rid of ALL our credit card debts that we've had to accrue over the past 4 years of crappy situations. For once we wont have to worry about if we will have enough for bills and food. THIS IS AN AMAZING AND PERPLEXING FEELING.

Anyways...I ALSO finally got paid by a client that I've been waiting a while for and because of that I'm thinking about getting a table PC, that way I can take it to cons, take credit cards, look up references, etc. it would be NICE to get a surface pro 2, but it may be out of the budget. I really will only spend about $400 on one anything past that and I'd rather save for a wacom companion. So I figured I'd ask you lovely people on what you'd suggest. Reason i'm looking at a Pro 2 is you can draw on it. I wouldn't be using it for large things but smaller stuff i could potentially do at cons. Eventually I'd like to get a wacom companion, which would both alleviate a ton of back pain because i wouldn't be hunched over my computer and be super ridiculously convenient while traveling, but that will be a fair in the future investment...for now I'm just looking for something I can get before FWA and will be uber useful.

For the most part I am getting through what I owe as fast as I can.
Lately my upper back is raging out of control and slowly getting back to its "I hate you go die" level of pain. I'm currently poppin about 800MG of ibuprofen a day to fight back at least some of the pain, but I am afraid it'll put me back into the hospital(the pain not the pills).
I've been brashly taking a few personal days to try to help alleviate the pain and trying to use that time to work on Stuff for FWA, coming up in April or reading art books. RECENTLY FOR MY BIRTHDAY(this weekend) I was gifted some paints, bushes and other REALLY nice stuff that I'm super eager to work with. I really miss traditional and I'm hoping I'll be able to start taking full traditional commissions once again for the first time in about 4 years...not just sketches.

Theme: Death and beauty
I will be combining bones, blood, or both with things like plants, flowers, butterflies, birds and other microfawna. (I like orchids, roses, lilies, and fireweed, but could be any kind of flower)
it's one of my absolute favorite topics and something that just makes me happy
Making death as another part of life and respecting it versus it just being the massively creepy thing

these will also have a splash of color on them(meaning one general hue of a specific color, most likely red or blue)

They will also basically be busts or portraits since the paper is small

These will be on toned 5.5X8.5 though I may experiment with watercolor paper
Medium will be graphite, charcoal, colored pencil and maybe watercolor

you can expect the characters themselves to be decorated with bones and flowers or if you're okay with it I can portray your character recently(but peacefully) passed on.

Simplier character would work better for this.

Will be 100% artistic freedom. I just want to have something I'm enjoying doing in times when my back hurts too much to sit at my computer. Plus I really want to get back into traditional and this is a good way to do it.

Hey all I've givin it some thought and decided to try and look for another roomate for FWA.
Currently it's just me and  arrowman
But due to expensiveness of the room I'd like to try and split the room fees with third(maybe fourth) person.

Type of person I'm looking for:

`An artist also workin at the con(you'll know my pains)
`Preferably quiet, easy-going, and drugfree (dont care what you do outside the room, but I'd rather not have it in the room~ignorance is bliss)
`A person who keeps to themselves~I don't care what you do, what your into or whatever as long as it doesnt effect me and respects that I may not be into that. I have pretty high personal boundaries..and I ask that you respect that.

VERY IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW:

I'm going to the con to work. I might have to stay up late and will need quiet to finish commissions and such. I'll try to stay out of your way, but I please ask that you respect that I'll need space to work.

Both beds are taken. We will try and get a couch in the room, but I can't make promises. I'm thinking about getting a camping cot and if needed I'll sleep on that.

So things are getting somewhat back to normal and I realised that how I've been handling commissions at the direct moment has been doing more harm then good. I need to start bringing in money for bills again and have been unable to because of my untimed backlog.

So I'm coming up with a regularly weekly schedule. It's most likely going to change, but I seriously NEED to get organized. Especially now that I've got that patreon a rollin.
So here is a rough weekly break down/stream schedule.


I will be streaming on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I'm going to TRY to make Thursday stream days a Pay while watching Streams. At least 1 of these streams a month will be for PATREONS ONLY(password protected). I will start doing the pictures flat price instead of hourly, because with the stream I can't keep track. I may even make them Pay what you want type streams.

otherwise I'll be using those days to get through my untimed backlog. I will be working on backlog on Wednesday as well but i work quicker without the stream.

Mondays I will be either working on my Queue, or doing chores around the house (most likely a combo of both) and Fridays I'm going to use to get prepared for upcoming conventions and for weekly practices that I've been sorely neglecting.
I'm currently planning on attending FWA and AC 2015 and have a LOT I'm attempting to get ready for.

I MAY BEGIN OPENING FOR TRADITIONAL HEADSHOTS AND OTHER TRADITIONAL STUFF. it's a kind of "we will see" type thing. they are super fun and great practice. I've really missed getting into my traditional pencil roots. I may spread that eventually to colored pencil and watercolor, but for now graphite and white charcoal(or white colored pencil) we shall see.

This journal will be some rant, some explanation and mostly what happened on the entire trip. First off The IN STREAM COMMISSIONS will be happening tomorrow. I ended up not being able to finish some of the road trip sketches and will be finishing those of today as well as running a few errands that I had meant to this weekend.

Okay now for the trip:
Basically(for those who dont yet know) My father in law in oaklahoma got pneumonia and COPD and was sent to the ICU(intensive care unit) in the hospital. He was there about 3 Days. So Hubs decided to go and see him this weekend. We chose to drive because a plane ticket would have been 600 and with gas so low..it should've been only about $200 for gas total trip. So friday we left, drove 17 hours with both our dogs. On the way we decided to go and see my mother in law as well in texas. Truthfully Neither of us wanted to see my Fatherinlaw. He's not the greatest of people and really hubs just was going in case it was the last time he sees him. He's old..(To try and explain this man..He owns fighting cocks and will fight them to the death..to just give an example)

Anyways. Got to oaklahoma around 1am stayed for a good part on Saturday then that afternoon we drove down to Texas to see my mother in law(7hours south) Got there about 2am exhausted, but got to see my motherinlaw since she's retired and her sister. That was a lot of fun and I was really happy to see her. Sunday evening around 3pm we began to head the 22 hours back home. We were both so exhausted we were forced to stay in a motel. We stopped driving at about 1 am and woke up at about 7am and got right back on the road.

Total trip milage was about 3066 and driving time was about 46 hours without the stoppsand switchoffs we did.

About 3 hours from home, hubs got caught in a speed trap. The speed limit was 70 then dropped down to 60 for about 50ft. He hadn't noticed the speed change and a waiting cop got him and gave him a citation..for a court summons..three freakin hours away on a tuesday.

So after all that it probably would've been cheaper to take a damned flight.

But it was nice that my cats didnt kill each other and I got to sleep in my own bed.
I'm pretty damned stressed out right now, we couldn't afford the trip. My motherin law gave us some money for going way out of our way to see her, which will help, but shit kinda sucks right now. We will be alright. things have been much much worse before, but I'll working pretty hard tomorrow to get quite a bit finished in the stream thingie.

My Father in law is in the Intensive Care Unit. He has COPD and pneumonia. He's currently stable, but he's also old and not too healthy. Hubs has decided to go and see him, just in case something happens. He's asked me not to go and feels it's something he needs to do on his own (Trust me he has his reasons). He only just confirmed that he's going to make the trip.

The trip is a 17 hour car drive and frankly, though I don't want to tell him, we can't afford what it'll cost in gas. because I'm staying behind I can make up the money in commissions...but I already have an outstanding Queue. My solution? An All day stream on Saturday where I will take in stream commissions. They will most likely be 30mins-1 hour commissions only..so headshots and sketches. I will also be using my new price of 25 an hour..I was going to wait until after I finished my queue to announce the price change, but things happen.

The stream will be around 8-9am EST and go on until my hand refuses to work.

If you'd like to donate money feel free to though I'm certainly not going to ask you to. I'd much rather work for it :)

The trip will be about $200 in gas alone not including food and such. We were already going to be tight on cash this paycheck as many of our bills are on this one. Anyways thanks for reading and take care <3
