Posted a year agoI've moved all the NSFW art in my gallery to Scraps for the time being, and might move them to a different account altogether if I get the inclination. I mostly don't want to be known just for that, since my art matters a lot to me and a lot of it isn't NSFW. I really want to start posting some of my more serious work here because it's a lovely community and a great place to grow an audience, but I don't want to be known as an NSFW artist who sometimes draws SFW. Quite the opposite, honestly. I still plan to make NSFW art, and indeed have been, but I've been conflicted on where to put it. So far it's gone up on my

Life's been alright. I've made new friends, my drawing skills are improving, even if my confidence to post them isn't. I've had emotional ups and downs, but mostly ups and I think I'm slowly getting a footing on myself again.

Posted 11 years agoIt's how many times I've come on here and griped about something that's upsetting me? Why can't I write about anything happy? Eugh... Well, this week it's a whole new raft of problems. It's been at once one of the best weeks, and the worst weeks I've had in a long time.
I'll talk about the bad stuff, then I can get to the good stuff, and that'll put a good spin on things, I hope.
I've been apparently storing emotions lately. What that means is I spend a lot of time with people who are sad, angry, anxious and stressed, and I sorta take on those feelings, then they crop up later with nothing to attach themselves to. Floating anxiety has become a major issue, and I'm not sure it can just be explained by that. I'm hoping that putting some space between myself and the people who stress me out will help, but I also don't want to get so far that I couldn't support them if they needed it. It's a fine line...

Now to the good stuff. I made a new friend this week... or was it late last week? He's super amazingly nice, and he even gave me two amazing images that have helped me finalize my character's design! I could just snuggle right up to him. I don't usually click with someone this quickly. I'm working on a little piece or two to thank him for all the kindness he's shown. He deserves it. X3
My other friends have been super great too. Very supportive, especially when I'm sad, and very patient when I get prickly. There's been a lot of change in my life lately, and they've been so... so great. They help calm me down when I get anxious, and set me straight when I tar having paranoid fears... I can't thank you guys enough.

I have a terrible sleep cycle. Can't seem to sleep at night, and I'm drowsy and pass out throughout the day.

I've made a lot of new friends over the last year, and it's gotten super hard to see their journals among all the ones that flow in from the people I don't know. I've missed a lot important information that way, and it's hard to see their art if they post anything too.

Sure I get the chance sometimes, but at the time it's not always easy to remember what I thought of earlier, so here's a few of my favorites that I imagined up recently~

Posted 11 years agoI was lying here in bed, sick as a dog and unable to sleep, and I started thinking, as one does at such times. My thoughts, like usual, drifted to my friends and how much I care about each one, and I realized something. There's a friend who, in the numerous "friend" slots inside my head, still holds a high and affectionate place, despite the fact that we haven't spoken hardly at all in the last few months, and I realized I'm holding a lot of anger about this person, even though underneath it there's still a kernel of love and longing for companionship.
I suppose the anger stems from a period where this person was away a lot, and during our brief conversations, which I grasped for like a drowning man, I learned they weren't entirely who I thought them to be. I realized that as close as I held them, I had no idea what they thought of me, and I still don't. See, I think of and treat my online friends like real people that I could touch and feel, and part of me expects them to do the same, to feel the same love and compassion for me as I do for them.
This is of course preposterous. You can't make or expect someone to feel a certain way, no matter how much you do, but even though I realize that, it never seems to sink into my thoughts in practice. I wonder what that once dearest friend is doing now... thinking now, feeling now. I wonder what their life is like without me in it. I wonder if they think about me like I think about them, or ever did...
This is what being sick does to me. =~=
