Update #3
Posted 3 months agoHello all!
I hope you are doing well in these interesting times. It has been a while, so I thought I’d make a quick journal with some personal updates.
Rebuilding my website.
First, with the uncertainty around social media and sites like FA and Twitter I’ve decided I wanted a more permanent place to have my art. So the last few weeks I’ve been working on rebuilding my website. Still quite a way to go there though. Part of it is I’m going to be re-uploading just about all my (sfw) stuff I possibly can so I can have a more permanent archive. But with 11 years of art it is quite a challenge to even find and catalog it all. But it should be a good primary home for my art and comics. Will have tag filters, search tools, RSS feeds, and all posts will have comment sections. After that I will have FurAffinity and BlueSky as my other 2 main places to post (with IB and mastodon as their respective mirrors.) When the rebuilt website is done I’ll go into more detail about it!
Unpublishing my Patreon.
Kind of related, but I’ve shut down my Patreon for now, possibly permanently. I don’t think that kind of thing vibes with what I want moving forward. Probably going to move towards something more lightweight and less cumbersome, like just Ko-fi donations. Probably a simple subscription there like for WIPs, timelapses, and voting on future drawings. It depends on whether I get in a good rhythm with posting or not. With a day job it kind of takes away from the dire need to make money with this stuff so for now my Ko-fi will be there for donations.
Drawing update.
Drawing wise I’ve still been moving along on my ref sheets and comics projects. Slower than I wanted as usual haha. But I’m starting to get a bit sick of working on just that, so I’ve started working on some other stuff like the drawing I posted a while back and sketches. Still have other stuff previously mentioned that I’ve still yet to post (but they are getting a bit old at this point.) Looking through and cataloging all my previous art has made me kind of realize aspects I’ve lost and have been missing out on. Kind of been inspiring me in a way.
Personal update.
Not super into sharing personal updates anymore but I will add that I’ve been taking college courses and playing with the idea of going for a degree (online sort of thing) while working full time lol. Nothing decided yet but if I did that it would take quite a bit of free time away obviously. That said I’m still doing art but gotta find a balance between my work life and this art stuff which is now a hobby. It pains me to take time away from drawing art, but it might be for the best in this case haha. A temporary time investment.
Thanks for reading!

Update #2 (Current projects, backlog, and comics.)
Posted a year agoHello all! I’ve got various quick updates here.
Backlog To Post:
I’ve recently remembered I have a bit of a backlog of old work to post. I’m looking at 9 images here currently, most are smaller works or sketches though. At this point some of it is old enough that I’ve considered not posting it, but that feels wrong so I’m going to post it anyway. Some of it was made back in 2022 and before. Thought I’d give a heads up on that because it’s going to mess with my gallery timeline and that bothers me haha. I’ll be sure to say when it was made in each post.
Just a note that last year I moved around stuff in my gallery, moved some stuff to scraps (but I’m about to move some stuff back), and marked some stuff as mature. Basically, anything remotely "suggestive” I’ve been marking as mature here since that’s really the only way to have stuff hidden from guests. Going forward this is how I’m going to be doing things. (And side note, just because I mark it as mature doesn’t mean that I personally think it is suggestive. It only means that I think some people might perceive it that way.
Social Media Sites:
I have mentioned it before, but I’ve been cutting down the social media profiles I use. Active sites are in my bio of my FA page. I’m no longer going to post on insta and have started a Cara account. I have begrudgingly resumed posting on Twitter too. You can find me on: FA, titusw.net, IB, Cara, Twitter, Bluesky, Mastodon, and Patreon. The sites I’m most active on is FurAffinity and Bluesky.
Current Focus - New Ref Sheets:
When I was planning the concept art to do for the main comic, I realized I should probably do all the character concepts before the Prologue comic so I can finalize their designs. I made a new ref sheet template and have about 16 OCs worth of ref sheets to make. A few of them (mostly the main cast) will have multiple clothing variants. These ref sheets are for my use when working on the main comic, but I will be posting all the ref sheets unlike most of the other concept art. All their info on the sheet templates is filled out now I just have to finalize their designs and draw the characters (line art and flat colors). It’s looking like it will be at least weeks or months until I finish them all, so I wanted to give a heads up on what I’m working on haha. Once the ref sheets are done, I will resume work on the prologue comic and probably smaller side sketches like the one I posted a couple weeks ago.
Comic Updates and Process:
The Taria: Prologue script is done, and the page layouts have begun. (Wow, having a fully finished script makes such a massive difference in making the page layouts haha.) I’ve also finalized the workflow and drawing process for the comic so the appearance will vary as little as I can control. I will be going back and “remastering” the pages I have already done so the style is the same across all the Prologue comic (the lettering has already been re-made.) Mostly doing this in case I decide to print it with the main comic later. The Prologue will come in around 35 pages long. (Warning ahead of time, it’s pretty exposition-heavy :P )
As I work on the Prologue I will be finishing up the script on the main comic. When the Prologue is complete, I will evaluate how I enjoyed working on it. Think of the Prologue as a trial run. If I hated making it, I will likely not continue onto making the main comic if I can’t salvage it somehow. If I decide to move forward, I will begin posting the Prologue pages weekly as I finish the concept art for the main comic, then the main comic’s art after that. There would be a gap between when all the Prologue pages are posted and the main comic’s pages begin, as I have lots of things to do between them.
Miscellaneous Projects:
Side note. Along with the concept art I also have quite a few of other assets to make along with the main comic. Banners, profile pictures, logos, etc. I will also be making a new website for the webcomic. (The places the comic will be posted are likely few. My site TariaComic.com, FurAffinity, Webtoons, and Tapas are the currently planned sites.) All this side stuff will take time, but I’m saving it for after the Prologue comic is completed… just in case I decide I hate making comics after the Prologue :P I don’t intend to do many standalone illustrations when I’m working on the comics. Likely going to be doing random side sketches which will occasionally get colored.
That is all for now! Thanks for reading!

Update #1
Posted a year agoHello all!
Had a bit of a digital clean up a few months ago on all of my art profiles, we are back to journal Update #1 haha. Fresh start it is
I hope you have all been doing well! It has been a long time since my last post, almost a year ago since I last appeared. I have had next to zero will to be active online, so I just haven't been around at all. This is likely going to continue for some time more, but since I've been asked about it I figure I might as well make a journal post. I have some news to share as well
---
What I have been up to: Job and long period of reflection during hiatus
Well in my last post I mentioned that I went out and got a full time job. This has gone far better than I imagined and I still enjoy it today, over a year later. I have no intention of changing jobs any time soon, though I'm on a night shift now where my night owl brain belongs haha. But it has been strange to have a zero stress job that I don't dread going to. I guess I somehow found one that fits my personality. Plus I'm physically active there and am in the best physical shape of my life lol. I knew before I got the job that my mental health was at an all time low, but I was truly unaware of how bad it was until I went on a long hiatus from art. In the end I feel like I have been made whole again by this change and period of reflection, and I'm confident when I say I have never been happier with my life
Along with this job change I had a true hiatus with art, with little to no drawing for a year. I was in delusional in many ways about my relationship with my artwork, and I have learned a lot
When I resumed drawing I didn't post anything and have kept it all to myself and my close friends, as my relationship with social media needed evaluation as well. It has been long enough that most of my issues around art seem to have faded into the past thankfully. Being fully open on this, the sea was dark and deep and I truly didn't know if I would ever draw again. I find it fascinating that, when it all was left behind and crumbled into dust, the pull of drawing was still there. What remained was what I truly wanted from art, and it was clear. Not to get too dramatic about it haha
Anyways, I'm not giving up drawing though it almost happened!

Art plans: The webcomic's return
Now this is why I wanted to make this journal, because it needs a bit of an explanation. I've been working on my webcomic Taria again
The webcomic has become the singular focus of my attention, and will likely remain it for the foreseeable future. I have a plan in place for its production (that I will discuss more in the future) once I have the remainder of my old Taria: Prologue experiment is completed. I will not be posting pages until the rest of the prologue is 100% drawn. Nothing will likely be seen from it for many months due to my new approach in this experiment, as the entire goal of this workflow is to avoid the pitfalls of my past attempts. I will evaluate how effective the workflow is after the prologue is complete, and apply this to the main comic's production
I have been spending all my free time for weeks planning and writing the scenes for the entire main comic story, and I'm currently working on the rough draft of the actual script. This has been slow going because I'm not really a writer lol, but this is like the 4th iteration of this story and it's the first I am truly happy with. Much has changed about the story, but most of the core of the setting I have been drawing for years remains intact (things has shifted to be much more subtle and sfw, however.) I can't describe how excited I am to be finally working on this with no self-imposed limitations after nearly 10 years of drawing (my original purpose to learning how to draw was to make webcomics, after all.)
In case you are curious; the webcomic's story has a start, set acts, and an ending. I estimate it will be only slightly longer than the average printed graphic novel (page-count wise.) It will be ink and color, as my past pages have been (despite my experiments to save time, I cannot draw it without color and still achieve my vision for the project). I estimate the entire project to take at minimum 4 years to complete since I have a job outside of art. Sticking to the release format of a webcomic, regular page releases is still my plan
Since all my attention is being spent on this, it is unlikely that I will be working on much else for at least the next few months. I have some drawings I have yet to post (which I am unsure if and when I will post them), and I have some concepting to do for the comic. But, besides some sketches here and there, I don't expect to be making much else to post here anytime soon. I just wanted to make that clear lol
Side note, as I mentioned it above. The Taria: Prologue pages I started many years ago are still part of the story and will remain up. The art is pretty old and a bit awkward, but the story is still accurate. The script for the remainder of that prologue has been re-written to lead right into the start of the main comic. Since it's not part of the main comic, I will not re-draw the old pages only continue where they left off
---
Side note 2, FA is now my home base for art lol. My DeviantArt has been archived, low traffic profiles such as on Weasyl deleted, and I have no intention of returning to Twitter. Links to the social media accounts I will be using going forward are on my FA home page here and my website which is now TitusW.net. I do not plan on being very active besides getting a backlog up on the new sites like Bluesky and posting the rare art occasionally as the comic project is being worked on. FurAffinity is still the best place to reach me should you want to comment!
Thanks for reading! If you have any questions, I'll be trying to be better about replying to comments here going forward haha

Moving On
Posted 2 years agoHello all! Happy new year!
Last year, at this time, I wrote that I would give myself one more year to get on track with my commission work. Unfortunately, due to numerous factors, I didn’t hit my goals. Though many things did go well in 2022, I have decided that this isn’t working out right now. Towards the end of the year, I decided to search for other employment. It ended up going well, and as of right now I am currently starting out a new full-time job.
This isn’t something I took lightly. I spent many months thinking about it and discussing it with others. I think it’s best for me to go back to working a non-art job for now, possibly for the next few years or potentially far more. Currently, I have just one outstanding commission that I will still be completing. After this one is completed, I will no longer be accepting commissions until further notice. (Possible exceptions may be made for compelling one-offs and work for repeat customers. My business will remain active, even with little to no use.) I apologize to those in my commissions queue that I never had the chance to work with, I know that this may be disappointing.
I am grateful for having the privilege of working on art commissions in the community for the last 4 years. Overall, it was a wonderful experience; I learned so many new things. These life lessons are invaluable and will greatly shape my future. I do regret choices I made along the way. However, I now know my limits. I’ve learned what works for me and what doesn’t when it comes to doing art as a career. I have no regrets about giving an art career a chance. Thank you so much to everyone that has commissioned me through the years! Everyone was so friendly and accommodating. You all have been so awesome!
To the future
So, where do things go from here? Some of you may remember before I did commissions, when I had my day job and my personal art. That’s the arrangement I’m going back to. Since I just started the job, things are quite difficult and it’s a lot of work and energy (as you’d expect.) The training and acclimation period is rather long and will take much of my focus. But once I am more comfortable, the pace of drawings I make in my free time will pick up. In fact, I will not be surprised if I post more artwork this year than in any of the last few years.
Drawing is still my main hobby, and I’ll remain committed to it. I will keep posting personal art with my OCs, keep up the social media accounts, and I will keep the patreon going as well! (Though it might get a restructure.) My long-term goal is likely to try to grow the patreon with the new focus on entirely personal art (and likely comics) for the next few years. I have no idea where this new job is going, or what the future may hold, but I am optimistic and thankful for the opportunity and a change of pace.
Thank you all for reading, and I hope you all have a great new year!
