It may be a bit late, but I finally got around to implementing my idea to create a Chrome extension to remove ONLY the annoying third-party ad banners at the top of FA and near the comments.

I disabled my ad blocker on FA because I like seeing the ads from the furry community. However, I didn't like how those annoying banners were getting in the way of everything and showing hilariously out of place third-party ads (and I also just wanted things to go back to the way they were before lol).

I've had several of my left leg, and one of my chest (I was in a serious car accident; ended up breaking my femur, fractured several ribs, and had a lacerated spleen which was removed to stop the internal bleeding... It's a long story)

...when was the first time you ever heard of the fandom?

Personally, I was always interested in anthropomorphics, and was first introduced to the fandom itself through Second Life. I remember the exact day actually when I 'discovered' the fandom. I was sick for a few weeks my freshman year of highschool, and therefore, was playing a LOT of SL. I had always had furry avatars on SL, almost since the first day I started playing. Anyways, I did a google search for furry and that's when I realized it was something outside of SL. Then I stumbled upon FA, and the rest is history x3.

But what about you guys? What was your first exposure to the Furry Fandom, and what drew you to it in the first place?

Where to begin...

On June 11th of this year, I was involved in a rather serious car accident while driving home from Long Island. I was t-boned by a 2012 Audi A7. The other car made a direct hit to the front driver's side door on my 1999 Volvo V70 wagon (which I am glad I was driving. I would have been toast in any other car...). I won't go into the details (it still gives me chills to think about it) but after the car had come to a stop, I found that my leg had been pinned under the dashboard, which had been crushed in and down by the impact. I called out for help, and eventually, a good Samaritan came over to the wreck and asked me if I was ok. I asked to borrow his cell phone and called my parents. I don't know who, but someone eventually called 911 and the ambulances and fire trucks arrived on the scene. The fire department had to use the jaws of life to extricate me from the wreck. Once the dashboard had been pried apart, the worst of the pain kicked in. I was rushed to the nearest hospital where I underwent surgery for my broken left femur and lacerated spleen. I was conscious through the entire incident, all the way up until they anesthetized me for the surgery. I woke up in the hospital bed many hours later feeling like shit. The doctors had inserted a titanium rod and two pins into my femur and had removed my spleen to stop the internal bleeding. However, there was nothing they could do for the many broken ribs... (those were the worst!). After nine days in the hospital, I was released, having lost 20 lbs during my stay. (I won't go into the details of the hospital stay, but I will say that morphine makes me feel like i'm underwater, in a bad way...).

After several months of recovery and physical therapy, I am up and walking again. Unfortunately, I ended up missing my High School Graduation ceremony (and most of the summer as well). Now, I am at College and adjusting well. On a brighter note, I've already made a bunch of new friends (some of which I suspect are fellow furs ^^). Regardless, between the accident and the transition to college, I have had very little time to be a part of the FA community. However, I am officially back, and I plan on uploading some new songs that I've been working on very soon! I also plan on posting journals much more frequently from now on.

I'm sorry if this is news to any of you; I tried my best to let everyone I could know about the crash once I was well enough to get on a computer again. Please don't worry too much! I'm alive and well.

TL;DR: I haven't been on FA for so long because I was in a serious car accident and then started college, however, I'm ok now and ready to participate in the FA community again.

I just got back from the hospital... DON'T PANIC, I'm NOT HURT...

My little brother cut his finger open severely with a pocket knife at around 8 pm today. I drove him and my dad to the hospital, and four hours later, we left, my brother having to get seven stitches... I won't go into the gory details, but the whole ordeal was pretty gruesome, and it completely changed my plans for this evening... xD

Oh well, life happens... All we can do is struggle on... :P

So, in total, the blackout lasted just over 169.3 hours... (that's 7 days, 1 hour, 18 minutes).
I'm SO FREAKING RELIEVED TO HAVE MY INTERNET BACK I MAY JUST HAVE TO DO SOMETHING ABNORMAL O.O

we got 14 inches of snow yesterday... And the power went out... May be gone for a week at most... :C

As i'm sure most of you are aware, Hurricane Irene is moving up the east coast of the United States, and unfortunately, her track leads directly over my town... -__-

Anyways, this will most likely cause major power outages all across the state, possibly lasting a week or more. (hopefully not but who knows...)

But hey, at least I can say that I've been through a hurricane and an earthquake in the span of one week :D

...But the one thing i CANNOT stand is when people on TV use INCORRECT AND IMPROPER GRAMMAR!!! IT IS A DISGRACE TO THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE AND A CORRUPTING INFLUENCE TO OUR "ADVANCED" SOCIETY. SERIOUSLY people; if you're going to speak, AT LEAST TAKE THE TIME TO DO IT PROPERLY!!!... *rant rant rant*

I'm sorry... It's just that there are some things that I cannot tolerate; improper grammar on TV is one of them. I'll admit, improper grammarz on teh interwebs is an exception, (there's a distinction between stylistic abuse of grammar and careless abuse of it...) but when so much of our culture (and more specifically, linguistic patterns) is based off of what we hear on TV, it makes no sense that we should be exposed to such grammatical "sloppiness", especially given how much time and effort is put into creating, for example, a commercial...

If the current trend keeps up, we'll all forget how to speak with proper syntax... and where does that leave the English language?...

Just something to think about...

I seem to have neglected the FA journal feature...
