Adventures with brittle diabetes...
Posted 12 years agoWell then. It's been a crazy few days... Tom's blood sugar has been absolutely ballistic. We had to have the paramedics out yesterday morning at a little after 6am, because his sugar was so low we could no longer reason with him (which is a typical occurrence). He gets nasty, argumentative, and completely disoriented. If we try to reason with him to eat or drink something to bring the blood sugar back up, he literally laughs in our faces, and tells us we're full of ourselves. He doesn't need to check his sugar, and he sure as hell doesn't need us to call 911, according to him during those moments. But we do anyway, because they are the only ones who can get him to cooperate.
So, we had the paramedics at the house yesterday morning, who ended up having to start an IV of sugar water on him just to bring the sugar back up. Their meter wouldn't even display his levels, which means it was below 30... not good. Once they did though, it finally started coming back up... and by two hours later, was in the 300s and still going. So we took him to the hospital. Cid and I had no sleep whatsoever. We didn't get home until late afternoon, and the two of us finally got to pass out for a few hours until dinner.
Then apparently, last night, his sugar dropped low again, and we almost had a goddamned repeat of that morning. Mom didn't get to bed until after 3am because his sugar wasn't wanting to come up. So she gave him some PB&J sandwiches, as per the paramedics' and hospital's recommendations... and now, today, it has been sky-high since he woke up.
I apologize to those who have commissioned me, and those waiting for me to get to theirs... it might be a little while. ><
Thank you so much for being patient with me! <3
Bit of an update:
We have found out his glucose meter is horridly off. It read 180, when the local firehouse's read 360-ish. There is over a 185 point difference between his and theirs. O_O It gave me a reading of 4.8 and I know for a fact my sugar is not that low.

This is a bit frustrating.
Posted 13 years agoIt seems that every time I sit down to practice, or just try and get out some creativity/inspiration in Photoshop, SAI, or my sketchbook, after about 30 minutes or so I end up with a splitting headache.
Dunno what it is that is causing it... I've tried using different backgrounds, and that does nothing. Tried zooming in more, so it's not all so tiny, no luck there. Doesn't matter what size the canvas or lines are, the headache still hits. I've also tried sitting in different positions to no avail.
This is so irritating. I need the practice, but gods... I can't concentrate, so nothing gets done. -.-

Eh heh heh.
Posted 16 years agoSorry about the sudden lack of art guys. It seems my computer no longer likes Photoshop, and it's been driving me up the wall. I'll see if I can get at least a little something up in the next few days, so you all know I'm not dead yet. XD
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
Posted 17 years agoMy computer. Has officially. Died.
There are so many viruses, and spyware, and malware, and trojans, it's not even fucking funny. Argh.
I'm doing what I can to get rid of them all (I went from 4-5gb of space to 17.6gb last night just from removing the beginnings of the shit), but it's going to take a long fucking time.
I wish I had a Windows XP disc. I'd just completely wipe the fucking hard drive and start over.
Fuck.

Posted 17 years agoOkay, so I've had an account here for quite a while, but I'd just never submitted anything.
So I figured I'd give it a shot. So, within the next few days, my gallery should grow. If you see something you like, please, do leave a comment and favorite. I would definitely appreciate the feedback.
