No, but I'm totally going. However tight a budget I may be on, I am determined to have a good time and generally not give even half a fuck about anything except friends and fun. (Especially considering I have so many new friends to hang with!)

My boyfriend may be in Afghanistan, but I'll be having a good time for him (and he'll be at Megaplex anyway).

My grades may not be as good as I want them, but I have a whole semester ahead of me.

I may not have a job I love right now, but I'm about to pick up another for the summer with someone I actually enjoy working with.

The first time I went to Elliott's (last year), it was during a really difficult time, and the entire weekend served as an escape. I went down to Orlando for what was to be the second of five trips that year (I love Orlando, can you tell) kind of spontaneously, and it ended up ranking in the top weekends of my life, more so than my first con experience at FWA 2010. Delightfully unexpected.

If you're going to be there, make sure to hit up the GeorgiaFurs party on Saturday! They're coming all the way from Atlanta to give you an awesome party, and the hotel is awesome enough that it'll only make it better!

Oh, and if you know me from last year's Elliott's...the tiggy briefs will return. Just wait for the pool party.

The whole homoerotic subtext of the original movie wasn't, surprisingly, the only reason why I liked it, and now that aspect is to be replaced with a far less plausible "friendship only" deal between a heterosexual couple? (the show's freaking subtitle is Himitsu no Tomodachi - Secret Friends!!!)

If kids are watching a movie with talking animals and a base message that couldn't be any more obvious (FRENZ R IMPURTENT NO MATR WHO U R), they're going to see them as friends, and it's not really going to matter the gender.

I could go on about how much they messed this up (it looks like it was made for the PS2, the fact that Japan is using 3D CG in the first place, and the recycling of the score from the original film, among other things that I'm sure are missing beyond a glance over the first episode), and I probably won't even watch it (though i will feel bad for the kids that do), but more than half of you probably don't know what I'm talking about in the first place, which classifies this post as a Grade-A nerdrage.

is not worth tolerating how absolutely childlike you act sometimes. you must have either bitched your moderators into obedience, or managed to find people who love holding themselves above the rest of the furries as much as you do. you do try to be fair with your rules, but it comes off as not caring enough to accept anyone individually. you could also probably stand to not ignore anyone who isn't your best bud. red text and lots of exclamation marks doesn't convey importance, it says you're impatient.

When I listen to music, I'm always looking for new sounds being created, or musical ideas being expressed in creative ways. It's why I like the glitchy stuff (breakcore, IDM, minimalist), it's why I like pure wall static/noise, and coming from the center of all that (for me) is gabber. I found it years and years ago, and I got hooked on the distorted bass kicks simply because I'd never heard anything like them before. Before too long, I found it bleeding into the furry community with people like Renard and GHDA, who were known outside the community for things that I was also interested in (mostly dance games). It led to the creation of my individual taste in music, most of which you probably hate. :D

I think I'm gonna call it the Perspective Meme.

1) I don't really have any outstanding fears. I love heights, driving, the dark, meeting new people, big open places, small enclosed spaces (at certain times), etc etc. The only thing I'm vaguely uncomfortable with is answering/calling people on the phone that I don't know, and that isn't a fear as much as it is a remnant of the days when...

2) I used to stutter. Some of you may have heard it every now and then, when I talk a lot or am just excited, but for the most part, I'm completely over it now. It used to be to the point where I could only really talk to my friends comfortably, and I had six or so years of speech therapy during school (it's actually my current major in college) to get over it.

3) I'm adopted. I don't really think about it all that much.

4) I prefer being called by my real name rather than my furry name, or any variations of it.

5) My thoughts on sex are completely messed up, but not due to my parents suppressing me in any way. On the contrary, they are very laissez-faire while still setting a good example, which led to me to grow up forming opinions that are good/neutral/modest to the point of being a problem (ie, sex is shameful because of society's lack of willingness to say anything about it). Luckily, there's only one person who has to deal with the resulting issues. The rest of you have to be pretty damn close to me to hear anything past what I've said here.

Sorry if there's a recent oversaturation of journals - I deactivated my Facebook, as some of you may have noticed, so I could focus on school rather than how fast I could close a tab and then come back to it, and FA is quickly taking its place as my main social interaction place thingy.

But I'm sitting here in a coffee shop working on an essay, and I can't get this song off repeat.

I absolutely love it, and I might actually be inspired to sit down and go through my 18,000+ submissions since everything is bigger and easier to see. I'm guessing that the announcement box is just going to be messages up top from now on?

i love furaffinity for giving me the option to make a journal/status about stupid shit i can't justify putting on Facebook.

(unless this counts) for a few reasons.

1) FWA was the nice and relaxed, albeit more expensive interlude to the cons I'm really looking forward to. This makes me question whether or not I'll keep going to it as the prices rise. Not to say I didn't enjoy it - I had a wonderful weekend with wonderful people that I'll never forget, and a few experiences with my roo that were equally special. Good timing on that, too, as he leaves in one week for four months.

2) My con recovery was tempered by oral surgery yesterday, and while there isn't a whole lot of pain, there is swelling and medication that leaves me giddy. I'd rather look back on a convention in a more positive light.

3) My birthday is on Saturday. I don't have big plans for it because of the timing, and I believe it's the first year that I haven't thrown some kind of a party.

4) The con left me broke. I really just realized this, but it did. My job doesn't pay well at all, and I have school to focus on, so there's a good chance you won't hear much out of me. Elliott's is still happening, though, and Megaplex is a maybe, so I need to save and be smarter with a few things.

Savannah fur meets organized by myself are also on hold for right now, but you guys are welcome to set something up. That's what the account's for!
It's still wonderful weather for a River Street walk, so that's a possibility. Perhaps a picnic, round 2, would do nicely as well.

What's your goal(s) for the con this year?
To help, help, help. FWA as a whole, not just the con-floor adventures, has been amazing for me, and I want to make it even better for as many people as possible. It's awesome that the community allows this goal to be a realistic one, and not just "THROW MONEY AT US, WE LOVE YOUR SUPPORT." I'm volunteering, I'm God Level, and nothing can bring me down~! I have an excellent room situation that I am fully in charge of, as opposed to last year, and this is one of the main reasons I'm so optimistic for this con. It's good to feel secure, surrounded by people you can both trust and have a great time with.

I always do these things as an excuse to get some thoughts out, not because there are people watching me who eagerly await this information.

GUYS GUYS I FIGURED OUT MY PROBLEM

Seriously, I (we) had a quick little idea for a fappable story, so i sat down and started working on it...

1400 words later, the two main interests have barely spoken to each other.

I think I just need to learn the short story format better - I've been reading fantasy sagas all my life, some well over a million words, and those are obviously paced differently than a story here on FurAffinity. I just feel like certain situations require a proper amount of exposition, and anything less is cheating the story of its full value and impact. I imagine it's something akin to learning how to sketch - there's a difference between what details you need to understand an image, and fleshing out those details into a full illustration.

It's also mostly a lack of practice - Another problem of mine is, I don't write/play piano/do anything enough to consider myself any kind of good, so whenever I take time to sit down and do this, it's way more of a mental effort than it should be.
Basically, I have no discipline to do anything, be it write stories, study on a regular schedule, get in shape, or even eat without spending money most of the time. I know the only solution to this is to just "do it," so I just need to stop being a whiny bitch and get shit done. :B
