Did you ever get that want, that desire to leave it all behind and start anew? You want to leave your old life behind and just begin again where no one knows who you are and everything is different.

I'm in the middle of that now. I just want to up and leave my current position in the fandom, while at the same time stay within it. Unfortunately this is hardly a viable decision, what in this age of Internet, and most of all - in my case, at least - a degree of professional responsibility on my shoulders.

Alas, I would really like to begin again. Appear in the fandom as another fresh-faced newcomer without dragging along the reputation of years past, and using the wisdom gained over those years to avoid being the obnoxious attitude that is the stereotype of the furry newbies.

I would like to begin again, I really would, but it seems like a painfully impossible task. I would have to forfeit all the good along with the bad, and it's that good that keeps one in place here. It's a horrible dilemma... but I think I'll stay for now.

I've been thinking about this for a little while. I don't take art-for-art trades, cause I suck at art, so I've been thinking about art-for-websites things... cause, well, websites I can do. Unlike anything else.

The problem with this is that such a thing would be bloody complicated to do. Websites take a lot of work, aren't amazingly in demand, and require the person getting it to already have web hosting and whatnot to be of any use at all. Thus any website-requests I do get through such a deal could take weeks to do, in which time consequence could cause more than a few issues.

Alternatively, I could just do them for money. Which would be helpful as I'm utterly broke. There's not enough money in my pocket and bank account combined to even buy a Happy Meal.

It'll also break some of the boredom I got right now. So hurrah.

Anyone for a website?

Midnight has just passed in this here United Kingdom, which was the totally unannounced deadline for voting on the fourth era.

And it goes 6 - 4 to the Dragons, excluding all those who saw better to argue the point of voting rather than actually voting, and those who voted for things that weren't even on the ballot.

So yes, Grey 4G will be a dragon. Rawr.
I think we all expected that really.

Squirrels are being removed from the shortlist due to them being there on the basis of, well, wanting more than two things on the shortlist.

This leaves dragons and rabbits, and seeing as I can't decide (or can't be bothered), I'm gonna leave it down to you, the furry-going public. To give ya some idea of what I think I'm also providing one pro and one con to each species.

Dragons
Pro: They have wings. Grey's like wings a lot!
Con: They're overly common around the fandom.

Rabbits
Pro: They have some similarity to bats, only are much cuter!
Con: I utterly fail at drawing them, utterly.

So... DRAGONS or RABBITS. All vote NOW.
And if your choice doesn't make it into Grey v4, then at least it'll come around again in September 2010!

Those who have known me for an extended period of time will know I'm notorious for one thing - changing species. Not in the sense of for one roleplay, but for one whole (or nearly whole) year.

This annoys people, at least until they get used to it. But little do people know that it is actually part of the character design. Yes, it's a bit stolen from Doctor Who, but whatever, every year the character starts dying a little, upon which point when it must regenerate into another species in order to remain alive.

In reality, the character only dies in the sense that I get bored of roleplaying and drawing it, and I start getting the jeebies to try out another species for another year. You may call me indecisive, I call myself tasting the buffet, the really large buffet.

Of course, with this realisation, it occurs to me that the era of the bat would soon be coming to an end - in two months in fact. The date can change a little (wolf in September May '06, folf in June '07, bat in July '08) but it's generally around a year that it occurs. So, just to be OCD and fill that gap between July and September, the date of the death of the bat will occur in August.

Call me sombre, but welcome to the life of a picky buffet goer! I've had enough miniature sausage rolls! Let me at the chicken drumsticks!

Of course, now begs the question of what will I be in the future...? There are three candidates currently, which ya can read up on right now (in awesomely alphabetical order).

A dragon
Initially, when coming into the furry fandom, I didn't like dragons. I dunno why, really, they just felt cold and blah-ish to me. Of course, after becoming more attuned to folks like Hiro, Blue, et al. the species has rather warmed on me somewhat.

A rabbit
Perhaps for their somewhat similarity to bats; in the sense of large ears, funny teeth and little fluffbundle of a tail, and - in my case at least - a bit of belly out front. And of course the species comes in grey, which is helpful!

A squirrel
It sounds a bit off-the-wall (and it is) but a squirrel made it to my list purely because - prior to knowing of and joining this fuzzy fandom - that is what I wanted to be. I wanted to be a squirrel. There, I said it. Shut up!

Of course, I will follow the same process I have with all previous species changes. The character will essentially look the same, just... different. It'll still be grey in colour (why else would I be called Grey?) and have that same tuft of long, black hair, but just be an altogether different animal.

Feel free to suggest other things, just keep in mind that I'm not altogether keen on fishy things, felines or equines, dunno why, don't ask.

It has come to the attention of myself, that at a date somewhat around this time three years ago, I did doth officially associate myself with this furry fandom.

But of course, such a date is in dispute. I had lurked furry websites since November 2005; joined a furry forum in May 2006 (the defunct version of The InflatioNation); and joined here as robomilk in June of the same year. And don't get on to me about those people who say you're born a furry... (even if I did spend several years wanting to be a squirrel.)

Generally, I consider May 2006 to be my fuzzy birthday, as that's when I started actively contributing to the community. It was November '06 that I first started attending Manchester furmeets - and to date haven't missed a single one.

Well, happy other birthday to me, even if I have completely forgotten the actual date of my induction! *party poppers*

...will probably never get around to doing but will try to do anyway. Now in glorious alphabetical order!

My scanner somehow borked itself in the last few hours. This is bad, as everything I draw (digital stuff included) is derived from the subject of pencil and paper. This, combined with the fact that my tablet sucks so much ass that it's gayer than a billion komodogs, means that art will not be coming from me for a while.
