So many new watchers!
Posted 12 years agoWHERE DID YOU ALL COME FROM?!
But seriously, I just wanted to say thank you, and that I'm honored you all feel my art is worth keeping an eye on (even if I don't post as often as I want). I really appreciate the support. I've always been the kind of person who just draws for myself and not give a fuck about what others thought of it. But knowing there are those out there who enjoy what I draw is a huge boost.
So to my current watchers, thank you for sticking with me. And to my new ones, welcome aboard! Hope you enjoy the ride! I love getting feedback on my work. Let me know what you want to see more of!

Fursona Meme thingummy
Posted 12 years agoStolen from EVERYBODY.
-What made you choose the species of your main fursona?
As a kid, I used to have a pet dog who was a Finnish Spitz. It's also not a very popular species in the fandom, so brownie points for that.
-Is your fursona just like you, or how you want to be?
See, this is complicated. Because while Ron is my fursona and used to represent me within the community, he's also his own separate character within the universe that all my characters live in. He does share many of the same interests, goals, likes, and dislikes. He also has an established career doing what he loves and a very supportive girlfriend whom he would take on the world for. I guess Ron is both me and the person I want to be.
-Does your fursona have the same personality you have?
Ron's personality is a more extreme version of mine, I guess. He's very sarcastic, and has a sharp wit, but he's also very shy around those he doesn't know.
-Does your fursona have the same dislikes and likes as you do?
Pretty much. Cool cars, anime, and big asses.
-Does your fursona look like you at all?
For the most part...He's pretty lanky, and wears the same clothes as I do/would. He's a good deal taller than I am, though. (and several years older, which all adds up to a mondo-intimidation factor)
-Is your fursona the same gender as you, if not why?
Yes.
-Do you have more then one main fursona?
Ron is the one and only.
-Do you have a back story for your fursona, if so does it have anything to do with your own history?
All of my characters have ridiculous back stories that intertwine with each other in ridiculous ways. The original idea was to start a webcomic and reveal things as it went, but then I became an adult...
-Is your fursona mated, if so is it to your real life significant other?
Ron in-universe is mated to Michelle, though I myself don't have a significant other at this point in time.
-If not are they looking for a mate, or are they a swinger so to speak?
In Ron's story, he had a period where he was a bit free-spirited, but it was only for a few years and it ended when he got back together with Michelle.
-Is there something special about your fursona that you think sets them apart from others?
The only defining detail that I can point out would be his trademark hat. It acts like a mood ring and displays a word or short phrase of whatever he's feeling/thinking at the moment. Nobody in-universe is aware of it, it was something I threw in for myself and other artists to have fun with.
-Do you have much art of your main fursona/s?
Unfortunately, Ron is on the lower end of the totem pole of my characters that receive art. I want to change that in the future.
-Would you ever consider parting with your main fursona, if so why?
He may go through a redesign here and there, but Ron has been a representation of me for years, and will continue to be for many more to come.
-If you suit, do you have a suit of your main fursona?
I don't suit, and I don't plan to.
-Have you ever roleplayed with your main fursona, or do you prefer not to?
I tried RP'ing once, but I was terrible at it. Not saying that would never change, but atm RP'ing period is out of my scope.
-Do you consider your main fursona to be a part of you in any way?
Sometimes I view Ron as that voice inside my head that coaches me or motivates me to do things. You know those scenes in movies and cartoons where the character will get a pep talk from their reflection in the mirror? And that's supposed to be a representation of their conscience? That's kind of how I view Ron.
Do it yourself if you wanna.

are in a bit of a bind...well, "a bit" is a bit of an understatement. Mr. Murphy has not been all that kind to them, and they are in danger of losing their apartment and owe about a solid grand. These two are close friends of mine, so anything you can give to help them out would be greatly appreciated. Every little bit helps.
Stormychang posted a journal about it here with her paypal address. She's also taking any commissions she can if you're interested. The journal can be read here.

Character Ref Sheets?
Posted 12 years agoI originally was going to preface this with a large paragraph about the coming new year and some emotionally-charged words about how much progress I've personally made within the fandom, as well as my characters and how they've evolved from their original conceptions. But I've found people don't like reading too much.
So let me cut to the chase, would you all be so kind as to direct me to some artists who are currently taking (or will be in the near future) character ref sheet commissions? I plan on updating the sheets for -all- of my characters, and while I haven't decided whether I'm going to have all of them done myself, via commissions, or a mixture of both, I would like to go over my options and possibly get an idea on what I can plan on saving up for. I've noticed that my problem when it comes to comes to commissions, I tend to be picky about style, but I'm trying to be more lenient on that as no artist is going to be able to recreate exactly what I imagine in my head. That being said, any and all recommendations are welcome. I just want to know what is available on the market.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. I appreciate it, and look forward to your suggestions.

Posted 12 years agoI'm sure I'm not the only one, but during FA's downtime, I went and made myself a Weasyl account. Should this site go down again, you can reach me there.
I also have a skype name, but I only share contacts with commissioners/commissionees/close acquaintances, so please don't feel bad if I reject your contact request.
Please note me on either FA or weasyl if you would like my contact email, as well.
I'm not completely abandoning FA yet. For now, I'm only crossposting between the two sites. But I'm keeping Weasyl as a backup should things go sour here.
As you were.

All I Want For Christmas Is...
Posted 12 years agoArt.
No, seriously. Art.
I have so many ideas and possible situations for my characters, that even if I was rich, I'd never be able to commission them all.
But I am being 100% serious about this journal. If by whatever slim chance you were thinking about me this holiday season and don't know what to get me - Art.
As serious as I'm being, I don't expect anybody to actually take me up on this. But it never hurts to try. (right?)
Ahaha what am I doing. I'm making myself out to be a self-centered art whore, that's what.
I need help.

Car Troubles and Special Commission Offers...
Posted 12 years agoOkay, so...Long story short, the hood on my car flew up while I was driving down the highway. It looks like someone dropped a boulder on it. It also cracked my windshield and snapped my antenna off. This is on top of some cosmetic fender-bender that occured earlier this year.
I either need to get this car fixed or invest in a replacement. As a delivery driver, my car is my job, and I can't let its condition suffer too much. I normally don't do this, but I'm offering a special series of collab commissions.
was really nice and offered to assist in this. Essentially what I'm offering is a series of colored sketches and flatcolor/shaded pieces. You would pay the price I offer for a sketch or a lineart piece. +$10 for colors and +5 for shading. I would be doing the sketches/linearts and
would do the coloring/shading.
FOR EXAMPLE: If you wanted a Waist-up lineart commission, it would be $5. If you wanted colors, it's $15, and if you wanted shading, it's $20.
regular sketches and linearts are still offered for base price.
Here is a simplified price sheet: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/12052253/
Almost forgot to specify this, but these commissions will be single character only in the interest of time. However, you may get more than one slot, if you'd like.
The money will be going towards my overall pot for car repairs/purchases. I don't expect to knock the price out completely, but anything helps.
If you want a slot, Just note me!
My usual rules for commissions still apply, but due to the circumstances, I'll probably be a little more lenient.
Thank you for taking the time to read this!

FA Meme - "All the cool kids are doing it!"
Posted 12 years agoStolen from the 30-something journals I've seen of this so far.
1. Why did you join FurAffinity?
Originally joined for the porn. As my art skill evolved, I moved here from dA, as I felt I could find a more fitting audience.
2. What does your username have to do with you?
It's a moniker I "stole" from my dad back in the early days of internet shindigs. He is a loyal Mac/Apple user, and that's where the name came from. I have other online aliases, but this just happened to become the one I use the most.
3. What is your current avatar of?
My fursona, Ron. Drawn by
jonas.
4. How many watchers do you have, and how many do you watch?
117 watching me, 110 that I am watching.
5. Do you have more than one account?
<--Where I post art that I've commissioned/been gifted.
6. Name 3 of your favorite artists on FA.
hurrgh, this is a hard one...

...

I'M BAD AT FAVORITES OKAY
7. What artist do you admire because of their personality?
Any artist who has a sense of humor and can laugh at themselves when they make a mistake. Ass-dickery tends to be a turnoff.
Hah! You thought I was gonna name names, didn't you?
8. Do you comment, fave, or both?
I try to comment if I do fav, but I can't always think of something to say other than the generic "Awesome," "Lovely," or "I'm going to fap to this later."
9. What do you typically post on FA?
Art. Flatcolors, specifically. Occasional VGM remix here and there.
10.What's your favorite submission in your gallery?
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/11124004/
I need more artwork like this. Commissioned or otherwise.
11. What are the things you wish you could draw better?
HANDS, poses in general, eyes, male bodies, porn...anything to open up my comfort zone and possible commission range.
12. How many hours a day do you spend on FA?
It'd be better to ask how many I don't spend.
13. Are you a fast, slow, or medium typer?
I like to think of myself as pretty fast...I know there are definitely faster ones.
14. What is the most annoying thing people ask you?
I don't really get asked a lot of questions, so I couldn't tell you.
15. What is the most annoying/offending comment you've received?
See above...
16. What/who inspires you?
The ridiculous conversations I have with my friends. Music's a big one, too.
17. Everyone has considered leaving FA once or twice. Have you? Why?
Only once. The main thing stopping me is that none of the other sites really interest me. Even if they did, I'm only just starting to get a stable foothold here. I'd hate to leave it and start all over again somewhere else.
Jump on the bandwagon if you feel so inclined.

GTA V IS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER
Posted 12 years agoLESS THAN 24 HOURS REMAIN UNTIL THE ROCKSTAR EXPRESS ARRIVES AT LOS SANTOS STATION.
ALL ABOARD, MOTHERFUCKERS.
So, if you couldn't tell, the release of the highly anticipated 5th GTA installment is nearly here, and I am very excited for it.
I do have it preordered, I will be going to the midnight release, and I will be putting quite a lot of time on it.
Which inevitably means I will be putting less time towards other places.
If I go inactive for a while, don't come looking. I'm just on my xbox.

Help me find a commissionee!
Posted 12 years agoSo, I've recently run into a small sum of expendable cash and want to purchase a commission or two. I have a few ideas, but I live under a rock when it comes to names in this community and don't know where to start looking. Below are a list of general themes I wanted to go with. I'd appreciate it if you guys could suggest some artists who'd be up to the challenge.
I'm looking for artists who are good with:
A) - Adult couple scenes - And I don't mean just your average money-shot-dick-in-vag smut commission. I want someone who can depict two characters making love. On an emotional level. Two people who obviously have feelings for each other and are finally reaching that stage in a relationship.
B) - Action scenes - It's no secret that I have characters that get into some ridiculous situations. I have art ideas, but they require the artist to be comfortable depicting them in the middle of an intense, over-the-top fight, which is challenging and difficult to capture in just one picture. This would probably be the most expensive piece to commission, as a background would most likely be required. So be sure to consider that.
C) - Depicting emotions - Speaks for itself. Whether it be a mentally-damaged experiment who doesn't have a concept of morality, or an innocent little girl who's not as innocent as she portrays herself on camera, the emotions are there - however subtle they may be.
D) - Vehicles - Specifically, automobiles. Actual, brand-name automobiles. May or may not fall under "decent with backgrounds" as well.
E) - Kemono-style artwork - This has actually become quite frustrating. I spent a straight hour and a half searching FA, but it seems that every decent kemono-style artist out there does not, cannot, or will not take commissions. To be fair, I probably couldn't afford one if they did, but at least having the option would be nice.
And I'm referring to the Japanese style of furry artwork, not the Japanese dress of similar spelling.
So there you have it. The goal of this journal is to gather a list of possible candidates to throw my money at now and/or in the near-future. Any and all suggestions are welcome. If you're suggesting an artist for a specific category, just list the letter (A, B, C, D, or E) in parenthesis next to their username. Or leave a short description of what they do best. And, yes, you can shamelessly plug yourself if you feel so inclined. I don't mind!
Thanks for your help. I really appreciate it!

100 Watchers!
Posted 12 years ago...Woah, wait. What? When did this happen?!
Seriously, thank you all so much. I never really thought I'd ever reach a point where I gained this many watchers. I guess this means I should take my art a little more seriously. ^^;
...nah...
I wish I had something special for you guys, but I honestly don't have anything prepared. Next milestone, though. Definitely!
Again, thanks so much. I hope you stick around for everything else I have in store!

(wish you guys were a bit more talkative, though...)Going incognito for a bit...
Posted 12 years agoSo, some personal issues have arisen that require my priority. I won't be around for a while. Don't know for how long. Could be a couple days, could be a couple weeks.
Of course, this means that I won't be able to reach people regarding commissions. I apologize for the inconvenience.
See you all (hopefully) soon.

Let's try this again! Commissions Open!
Posted 12 years agoThis journal will be used to hold commission information as well as a current commission queue. Read on for details.
I will be taking commission slots on a case-by-case basis. Just note me with a commission inquiry and I'll let you know whether or not it can be done!
Full details on commission types can be found here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/11224033/
Once we agree on a commission, I'll send you a note with my paypal address in it. Once the money is sent, I will start on your piece as soon as possible.
ART PROCESS:
I will share with you each stage of the picture: Rough sketch, Lineart, Flatcolors. The first stage is the best time to suggest major changes. Every stage after that, the fewer, and less major changes I will be willing/able to make. Once the piece is finished and you are happy with it, I will send you a full-res file for you to do as you please. You are allowed to repost the art anywhere as long as I'm given credit! A link back to my page wouldn't hurt, either.
So that's the gist of it! Due to the circumstances, these are not going to be first-come, first-serve. I am going to be a bit picky about these. But if you're interested, note me your commission idea and see what happens!

Let's get this ball rolling!

I THOUGHT THE PREVIEWS WERE A BIT EXAGGERATED, BUT WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET.

Off to the Windy City!
Posted 12 years agoI figured now would be a good time to mention that I'll be going on a trip to Chicago this weekend! Leaving early tomorrow morning and I won't be back 'til the Tuesday after. I've been planning this trip since January and pinching pennies at my job to earn the money needed. I'm really excited that everything's coming to fruition!
Needless to say, I won't be around while I'm gone. I still have some packing to do, and one more night at work before I can say I'm on vacation. I also won't be bringing my laptop with me, as I'll be spending pretty much the whole day out.
For those who are waiting on art for me, I'll be working on it once I get back. Hope to have my slate cleared soon, because there's a lot of art I want to get started on.
Anywho, just letting you all know what's up. See you all in about a week!
