The most special day
Posted 11 years agoI just returned from a vacation in North Carolina with Yuri and it was the most magical trip I've ever had. One particular day stood out the most, though. On Sunday, we traveled to a place called graveyard field to go camping. On the way there we stopped by a hiking trail that lead to a site called Skinny Dip Falls. It was so beautiful. The water was cold. Cold enough to bite to your bones with its crystal clear water.
We climbed on some boulders to get away from the travelers to enjoy the serenity of the place and we played our "ask me a question" game. He asked me and I pondered for a while. I said "I can't think of anything. You ask me a question." Then he climbed down a boulder and knelt down on one of his knees while fishing in his pocket. My heart was pounding. A wash of adrenaline hit me as I asked "w-what are you doing?!" He opened a black velvet box and said "...will you marry me?"
It was so magical. His voice was so clear against the roaring river. I said yes, of course! I couldn't stop smiling that entire day. The dream I had thought that would never come true finally has. Im engaged to my knight in shining armor.

NUUURSING! *BOOM*
Posted 12 years agoSo I started my nursing program finally. I'm so stressed and excited at the same time! There is some intense reading in this course; I'll say that. like, legit. The labs and clinicals are fun though. I got to practice bed bathing a mannequin and learned how to properly clean someone's no-no zone, put on a condom catheter, how to spoon feed someone, how to properly tie restraints (very good to know just in case a certain lion gets out of control >:]) and how to clean other people's teeth.
A Funny story with cleaning teeth. A male classmate of mine was practicing on me and said "oh, sorry. Tell me if I'm doing it right. I don't want to accidentally stick my fingers in there." Embarrassingly and without thinking of what I said I replied with a mouth full of suds, "oh no, its fine. You can jam your fingers in there for all I care!" He lost it and I was giggling like a twit and getting toothpaste everywhere, which caused him to laugh more. Man, that was embarrassing. I felt my ears grow hot.
All that aside I hope I'll survive this course. Its going to be real intense. Wish me luck. =)

Theatre production!
Posted 13 years agoSo Yuri and I are volunteering in a play called "The Warrior's Heart: The Life and Legacy of Joan of Arc". Im the props master and he is playing the role of a noble knight. If you live in the low country in SC you should come see him perform!
Here is a link to the trailer of the play.

Car questions!
Posted 14 years agoDoes anyone know anything about cars or even dabbled in some mechanics?
My truck has recently been emitting this constant squeaking/chirping sound when I start the car, both in idle and driving, also I've noticed that it 'jolts' a little when I go from braking at a stop sign to slowly driving forward. Could they be related, I wonder?
I had a good friend come check it out (hes pretty knowledgeable in car mechanics). He noticed that the sound has been coming from behind the engine near the center. He suggested that it might be the transmission and we may need it flushed.
Has anyone else encountered this problem and got it fixed? I'd love to hear some additional advice or even some anecdotes just to reassure me. Im mildly freaking out since my mate and I have no money to repair anything expensive with the car.
Here are my car's specs (from what I can remember):
-Ford Ranger XLT super cab. year 2003
-v6 engine
-3.0L
-~86,000 mileage on it

Simply Delightful

I can't help it
Posted 14 years agoI saw a comment today that says "Food doesn't grow on trees, you know."
Actually, yes. Yes it does. This food is called "Fruit". A lot of common fruits do grow on trees and are edible...like apples. A very fine example of food growing on trees.
I had post a journal on this because I had to bite my tongue due to better judgment on being a smart ass in public.

WTF Japan
Posted 14 years agoOne thing I hate about SC.
Posted 14 years agoAlright. Its 3:44am and I cant sleep. Right now its drizzling with a slight breeze that's making a creepy wooshing sound on the screen window. This is what went through my mind.
*wooshing sound*
"wth was that? God, this house creeps me at night. I better go check outside."
*cowers around the house*
"alright, now to check the porch. oooh, please...nothing creepy nothing creepy nothing creepy!"
*opens door, A blast of 85 decree heat and humidity washes over my face.*
Aww, come on! This hot already?!

Posted 14 years agoIs it weird of me to be disappointed at a hurricane?
Today It hit SC and EVERYONE was freaking out. We had some rain and some wind, but nothing was going to hell. The news said it was going to get stronger over night in my area but...there isn't even a cloud in the sky! Just a nice breezy night.
I want chaos with fuckin rain droplets raping my windows and house!!! D:<
We don't get that shit in CA, let alone a good rain fall. So you can see where my disturbing aggression comes from. Aaaarrrgggh!

Personality Test Thing
Posted 14 years agoI've been seeing this survey pop up quite frequently in the past few days. I thought I'd like to try it. Here are my results.
Scrupulous
You are an honest, fair person. You don't lie or cheat to get ahead. You treat others with respect and hope for the same in return.
You do not feel that you are above the rules that everyone else follows; you are definitely not willing to do whatever it takes to get ahead.
Upbeat
You enjoy being around others and others enjoy being around you. You have a "live and let live" attitude; because you know that no one's perfect, you are forgiving and happy to give the benefit of the doubt.
You don't feel the need to be controversial or express contrary opinions all the time. You see no reason to go around rubbing people the wrong way.
Cautious
You very rarely make a move without first considering the pros and cons and, therefore, rarely do anything foolish or extravagant.
You are not rash; you almost never act before you think and, therefore, rarely end up doing things you later regret.
Responsible
You fulfill your obligations and responsibilities, are true to your word, and generally obey the rules. While the majority of those who have a high score on the "responsible" trait enjoy traveling, they are usually very happy to return home — and don’t mind staying put for a while.
You're opposed to making hasty decisions, you don't insist that you're above the rules, nor do you feel compelled to color outside the lines.
Calm
You rarely become irritated, generally accept people as they are, take things as they come, and feel relaxed in most situations.
You do not let a minor annoyance escalate to a confrontation. You don't regularly snap at those around you or fly off the handle with little provocation.
Aesthetic
You appreciate art, beauty, and design; you know that they are not superficial but absolutely crucial to living the good life. You have good taste, and you're proud of it. Those with a high score on the "aesthetic" trait are often employed in literary or artistic professions, enjoy domestic activities — doing things around the house — and are enthusiastic about the arts, reading, and travel.
You don't think it's pretentious to be moved by art and beauty. You're not one of those who believe it doesn't matter what something looks like as long as it does its job.
Competent
You strive to master everything you undertake. You tend to learn quickly and do not shy away from challenges.
You are not a "que sera sera" type of person, nor do you go easy on yourself when attempting to master a new skill or get a job done.
Warm
You have a genuine interest in other people. You're a natural host, and are always thinking about how you can increase the happiness of those around you. When friends have problems or are in trouble, you're usually the first person they turn to for aid and comfort. Scoring high on the "warm" trait suggests that you are among those who enjoy domestic activities — doing things around the house — and are enthusiastic about charitable work, helping others, and making the world a better place.
You don't always say exactly what you're thinking; you don't like the idea of causing anyone pain because of your criticism.
Understanding
You are willing to take the time to find out what's going on with other people, especially if they're in distress. You're a good listener, you don't criticize, and you offer unbiased, respectful, honest advice when it's requested. With a high score on the "understanding" trait, it is likely that you are enthusiastic about charitable work, helping others, and making the world a better place.
You don't feel the need to impose your standards on others or say things that, even though true, cause pain.
Empathetic
You are in touch with your own feelings, which helps put you in touch with the feelings of others.
You don't buy the logic that your happiness comes ahead of everyone else's because unless you're happy you're incapable of making anyone else happy.
I think its mostly accurate.

Family Heirlooms
Posted 15 years agoSo I was talking to
's mom today about family stuff and the subject of heirlooms came up. My family doesn't really have any heirlooms. She gave me the great idea of making a book on the stories my mom told me of family past and personal experiences. My mom had magical stories to tell me when I was a kit; like the one time my grandmother saw the ghosts of two priests while waiting for the church to open, and the time when my grandfather escaped China during the revolution. While thinking of these things it makes me wonder what heirlooms you guys have. Do any of your families keep heirlooms? If so what are they? and if not what will you make as an heirloom?

Dear Anthony, Brandon, and Jon Paul,(<-- Me)
Hi guys! How are you all? I hope well. It's been a long time, hasn't it?
I am doing wonderful. In case you haven't heard-- I'm getting married. Yes, treadmill girl is getting married, can you believe it? Wait, it gets even better, my fiance makes video games! I know you all can appreciate that.
(L.O.L)
It seems like only yesterday, the three of you were glued to the screen playing super mario bros. Doesn't it? The reason I'm writing is because I want to ask the three of you to be "ushers" at my wedding. The wedding will be on Oct. 23rd in NYC, so start saving up. Brandon, I know you already have a ticket. ; )
Since you'll be ushers in the wedding, you'll also be invited to the rehearsal and the rehearsal dinner, which is going to be a blast. The theme is video games! Josh, my fiance is renting out a penthouse loft in midtown Manhattan and we'll be projecting different video games onto the walls. They'll be a Wii tournament (with brackets and everything), PC games, Xbox, PS3, and some oldies like the original super mario bros and Pac-Man. WOOT WOOT! It's going to be so much fun. I really want all of you to be there. That's going to be on Oct. 22nd, so try and arrive in NYC either on the 20 or the 21st if possible.
I haven't put together my wedding colors yet, so I can't advise on tuxes yet, but Alexis or I will keep you posted.
XOXO,
Ellie
Fuckin' LOL. Im being bribed to go to her wedding with video games and I somehow only appreciate things if they're video games.I surely appreciate video games more than her decision to step into marriage with the person she loves (which I cant do ...yet. Thank you conservative America*sad face*). OBVIOUSLY. lol. It just pisses me off because Im feeling patronized. She doesn't know it and it might not be intentional, but seriously, shes a clone of Martha Stewart. And I don't appreciate her putting a face on and getting all 1950s fresh with me.
Just in case you're wondering we have a long history together, along with her sister/my cousin Alexis who is now very sweet and fun. Ellie didn't grow up to be sweet and nice. She grew up to be Martha Stewart. You get scolded at for bringing your own mother a platter of hors d'oevres at a formal party (true story: she did that to me).
This is what I WANT to reply with:
Hi Ellie, :D
Congrats on finding a fiance whose rich enough for your standards. I'd be honored to be your "usher" BUT only if I get to play Infamous on PS3. I won't participate in anything that's once in a life time unless I get to play video games. I might have grown up a bit in the past 12 years since we last met. Don't let this surprise you, but Im in college studying to be a nurse! Isn't that all grown up-like? WOOT WOOT! I know I know, all that science and medical ethics will be boooorriiiing (I'd rather be playing games than pursuing my dream of helping the unwell). Well anyway, congrats and I hope you have a new copy of Mass Effect 2!
Hugs and Kisses,
Your cousin.
P.S.: I'll be sure to lose weight after hearing you ban of fat people at your wedding. XOXO
