The machine
Posted 14 years agoEver wonder about the system? Who's really incharge. When you call to dispute overage charges on bills, who's really the one making the descision.
Does it have anything to do with the agent you randomly got when you called??
Nope, not at all. The Agents at call centers (no matter what call center) Are mearly the skin to the machine. They give it that soft elegant, smily human persona.
Sure your expirience with them may affect your overall opinion of the company, but what happens when you get a really friendly nice agent, who wish'es they could do something to help you out.. but in turn can't really do anything?
The agent follows the system. The system, is the program for what ever it is product they are representing.
The system tells them what they are allowed and not alowed to. They are always in fear of being monitored and always want to follow proper policy so they can keep their job.
The Machine.
Who charges you? its not the company. The company is mearly a letterhead. Its a word to describe the company. For example....... Lets take internet companies for instance.
Its under that company's name, but in many cases its the same service with another name attached to it.
in many cases one company owns the majority of all the other companies, and they appear seperate yet they are all part of the same machine.
Sure there are programers to the machine, people who create and update the machine.
But when it comes right down to it.. your not dealing with a corperation, your dealing with a computer.
give it skin, and a friendly voice.
follow policy, terms of service, and everything will be fine.
Welcome to the machine. ^.^
