BIO
Weepings are named because of their large, light colored eyes. Their eyes are extremely sensitive, and even remain closed most of the time. Despite this, a steady stream of tears are constantly pooling, giving weepings the illusion crying. While they do not eat or contain a digestive tract, lore states that they are a sub-species of unicorns and bring happiness into the world by devouring sadness. Many who have met them describe a heavy depression wash over them as they are near.

Weepings are completely mute, and lack the anatomy to produce any sort of guttural noises. They do, however, enjoy making music with their intricately designed instruments. Because of their ears, they are sensitive to sounds. So as a result, their music is much different from that of humans. To the untrained ear, it may sound like tiny whispers in the wind.



HIERARCHY
The Father
The Father is the only extremely masculine weeping. He is characterized by his centaur-like rear and strong, large muscles. He does not associate with any particular tribe of weepings, but rather, acts as a nomad visiting each for small periods of time. He is a single entity and has been around for as long as weepings have existed. So far, he is the only immortal among them.

Mothers
Mothers are large-breasted leaders of individual groups. They generally have more uncommon or rare attributes (compared to the general weeping population), and watch over their tribe as a mother would. They ~usually~ do not participate in sexual activities. They have heavier set bodies, and tend to have a longer lifespan than lesser weepings. They can live upwards of 800 years. With their death, their tribe also dies. Some legends say it is of grief, but
there is so scientific evidence to give a decisive answer of the tribe's death.

Females
Female weepings vary widely from individual to individual. Their builds are more slender than Mothers. As with all weepings, their hair is the same style and color as their tail. Some may trim or decorate their hair with flowers or braids. They are generally asexual, with a small percentage defying this standard.

Males
Any males other than the father are highly effeminate. They cannot reproduce, but may be sexually active. They are smaller than even females, but tend to have more uncommon traits than the female population.



DESIGN
Ear Placement
The large feathery ears are the only ears that can change location. In most individuals they are located in the front, but an uncommon few may have the feather ears in the back. The placement of the feathers has no impact on the weeping.

Noses
Nose vary in shapes and sizes, but are similar to felines or canines in most cases.

Fur Growth Patterns
The fur can grow in several patterns, leaving the fleshy belly exposed. In rare cases, fur does not leave a pattern, and instead grows to the neck. This is also true for the rear growth patterns. In both cases, the pattern can be more pronounced, trailing up the back, front, or both.

Body Types
Aside from The Father, all weepings are bipedal. Most have paw-padded feet, but in some cases they are hoofed. Weepings with hooves are generally more stout and are more common in Males and Mothers.

Pupils
Their pupils are extremely large and unable to contract. They can be large and round, cat like (but very wide), or aggregate (a group of pupils clumped together). Their eyes are generally very pale in color. Whites, light blues, light pinks, and light greens can all be seen commonly in the population. Uncommonly orange and purple may appear. A pearly mix of many colors can be seen rarely and also in The Father's eyes.

Tears
Their eyes are always 'crying' but each weeping has its own tear color. They are generally slight variations of silver or blue. Rarely, they may have gold or a pearly mix stream from their eyes. Some depict their tears as beautiful jewels twinkling into nothing.

Hair/Tail Types
Many weepings usually have straight hair, but they can also have wavy, curly, or even coily hair. Whatever type they have is reflected on both their head and tail.

Horns
Weepings always have an odd number of horns, one and three being the most common. Almost all Mothers have five horns, as well as the Father. The Father, however, has much larger horns than the reduced nubs found in lower weepings.
