Commissions Provisionally Open!
Posted 4 years agoOfficially open for commissions again!
That said, given other responsibilities and various real-life stuff, I might not be able to accept every offer. Please send me a note to start the conversation, I'd love to hear your ideas and will let you know if what you've got in mind is something I'm able to take on at this time.
Please see https://www.furaffinity.net/view/17383236/ for current pricing rates.
Thank you!

Still alive.
Posted 10 years agoOvertime at work means that I'm not very active online… But at least I have some time to sketch out a few things, and I have several commissions that I'm working on (for very patient people indeed). I'm going to try and keep updating as much as possible, and will try to post a few sketches here soon.
I know some people have worried about my absence, and it means a lot, truly.

Up-coming...
Posted 11 years agoI've noticed there's been quite a lot of interest on my latest pieces, especially This one, and this one.
I want to thank everyone who favorited and commented and watched me recently, and wanted to let you know that I'll be opening up for July Sketchmission very soon.
So, if there's something you saw, something you'd like to see, bear it in mind...
Edit: Whoops, look at that. ;)

Sticky Acrylic
Posted 12 years agoLately, I've been doing a lot of work on little canvas panels (see also http://www.furaffinity.net/view/11495519/ ), but have run into a big problem: when the panels have dried (to the touch, at least), and I stack them out of the way to work on others...they end up sticking.
I've done some research on this, usually pulling up things like cabinet doors and window sashes that stick even though they've "dried." Still, acrylic paint is acrylic. And since I cannot wait the advised 3 weeks before doing anything to them, I have tried a few things I found, with the following results [all samples were acrylic on card, placed face to face with the following items interposed, weighted and compressed by a granite cube overnight]:
Control - much picking and pull-off
Talc - some pull-off, but possible issues with painting on after application
Aluminum foil - hardly any pull-off, but some sticking. Could cause issues.
Wax paper - far and away the best result - practically fell away from the paint. I plan on stealing away the entire roll for my own use.
TL:DR - wax paper keeps acrylic paint from sticking to other acrylic paint, when everything has dried to the touch.

Idea Handling
Posted 12 years agoHow do y'all do it? How do you deal with all of your ideas?
I have boxes full of scraps of paper, and several notebooks and sketchbooks too. I've got several text documents of various forms, some divided into sections (painting ideas vs story ideas, done/not done, etc.) some not.
How do you guys handle the ideas that come to you mid-commute, mid-grocery store, mid-pottybreak?
One of my friends suggested that he only uses the ideas that come to him when he's ready to use them, and lets the others go with no worry. I...don't think I could do that. I'd be too afraid of losing the brilliant idea that I got in line at Taco Bell, ya know?
Any tips guys? or just keep stuffing them in a box and maybe go through them once in a while?

2013
Posted 13 years agoTo all my watchers and friends, I don't know what 2013 will be bringing...but I can guess that it will involve a lot of me not being online.
There's a lot of real life stuff that needs to be handled (especially getting art done for the FC Art show - I'll be there!), and I may not be active on Yahoo/FA much for a while.
I'll try and post art as much as possible.
Thanks for understanding, and I can always be reached by Note.

Now Open For Commissions!
Posted 13 years agoRules:
1. All prices are for hi-res digital scans/photograps, + a copy sized for web posting
2. If you want the original as well, it will cost half-again the cost of the commission, plus shipping (for example, a $10 sketch would cost an additional $5 + shipping for the original)
3. I require half payment up front. This is for your good as well as mine.
4. Payment will be through PayPal, delivery (of digital version) and conversation will be through Email, once your commission has been accepted
5. As creator, I retain the rights to the image. As commissioner, you retain the rights to post the image. Credit where credit's due.
Subject Matter:
Simple-to-middling complexity. I do not charge extra for additional characters, but please keep it reasonable. Hence the size of the pieces, listed below. There's only so much that can be put into an 8" square.
I can do backgrounds (and indeed prefer it), so keep that in mind when submitting your request.
I don't yet have a "Will Not Do" list, but would prefer not to do copyrighted characters. Either your own characters or generics, please.
Story is paramount: the more refined the story you tell (setting, motivation, attitude, history, etc), the more likely I will be to see your vision.
Prices:
Sketch - pencil - 8" x 8" or equivalent - $10 - for example: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/8045315/ and http://www.furaffinity.net/view/8042384/
Sketch on Toned Paper - pencil, charcoal, white charcoal - 8" x 8" or equivalent - $15 - for example: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6392364/ and [NSFW] http://www.furaffinity.net/view/7172145/
Sketch + Digital Color - 8" x 8" or equivalent - $25 - for example: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/7850252/
Traditional (Acrylic) Painting - 8" x 10" or equivalent - $60 - for example: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/7163972/ and http://www.furaffinity.net/view/8103464/
Please submit your commission idea in a comment to this journal. If it is something I am willing/able to do, I will PM you for email details.
Remember, the more concrete your idea/references/etc, the better able I will be to match it.
