How do I know? Because life has violently taught me that you, the concept and idea of somebody loving me, Sam, don't exist. I once was foolish enough to think that it was possible, but ever since I had my heart ripped out the first time, love has failed my every attempt. I've sought it with 3 people in the past 2 years, and with 2 of them I find nothing, and I was forcefully rejected with the third.

This isn't saying that I don't believe in the concept of love. I know it's a real thing that beautifully exists between some people..... but it just doesn't exist for me, specifically.

You may be thinking, if you TRULY DO exist, that I'm giving up too easily; that 4 failed attempts in a lifetime isn't enough reason to raise my hands and surrender... but my heart can't take any more beatings. My heart has given its all so many times, that I'm afraid I'll strike out. I joke with my friends that I'm so full of hatred, that I'd given up on love already, yet I know that love has left some residue on me, because I can still care deeply for my friends; feigning affection to the point where some people are convinced that I'm returning the favor of, "love."

But the truth is that deep caring is as far as I want to get, anymore. I don't want to fail yet again, and go deeper into hatred to the point where even caring doesn't exist.

Before Jordayne somehow found his way into my life, I was in third grade when I was stupid enough to look onto a weight scale to see how much I weighed. Being 8 years old, weighing in at 150 pounds is certainly a defining moment in my life, one that haunts me to this day; one that led me to see the worst in myself before I had the chance to let someone else do the job. Ask the people I hang out with, ask them what do I make fun of myself for the most? Weight. While everyone sees a slightly chunky guy, weighing in at only 80 pounds more than he did 16 years ago, I still see the little fat kid when I was 8. When you see a man who's fighting through the aftereffects of a divorce, being severely separated from the brightest light in his life, I see a failed father who couldn't keep a marriage together for the sake of his beautiful son. While you see a hard-working guy, working in the sun and searing heat of one of the hotter states during the hottest months, I see a guy that was too stupid to get through school and get a real job doing something that doesn't destroy my body with every day.
See, some people haven't had the chance to grow up with positive encouragement from their peers. Learning what I have about the people in this fandom, I feel pretty safe in guessing that my story isn't unlike the others that will be reading this post. In a world where everyone seems to be loved, I personally was the oddball; the community toilet where everyone seemed to shit out their hatred for no reason other than because I was different. Because maybe I wasn't the smartest; because maybe I wasn't the best at football, because maybe I didn't meet the weight requirement for popularity.
But here, in this community of oddballs and weirdos, scalies and furries, we have all found a place to belong. Yes, maybe we STILL don't meet the, "norm," for society, but who cares? For fuck's sake, we've found out that, "normal," is just a way to say that we give a rat's ass about what people think or say about us; that someone's opinion is what defines who and what we are. No, I've given up on that notion a long time ago, and I've realized just how silly that is. I've realized that, yeah, I may be a bit big, and I may be a bit soft-headed, but what really matters is that I'm at least TRYING to be a good person..... and isn't that what we're all trying to do? Isn't that what we're all striving to be?

You know, in all honesty, I'm not against popufurs at all. The crowd that REALLY pisses me off is the mindless drones that make such a huge freaking hullabaloo about them; they'll only go to fur meets if there's a popufur or two attending. Or, in my own opinion, they're only furry if a certain popufur is furry.

And another group of people who REALLY piss me off are these assholes who CLAIM to be furry, yet take on little to no characteristics thereof. One thing that I've ALWAYS appreciated about the furry fandom is the ability the members have to be warm, loving, and (above all) ACCEPTING of everybody else! But, soon after I joined the fandom myself, I discovered this group of conniving, judgemental, and hateful fucktards, and every single one of them irritate me to no end with the mere knowledge that they exist and breathe my air. That being said, any member and/or supporter of the aforementionedFacebook group is, in my own eyes, also a member of these pessimistic and wasted life forms.

Ok, now that there's an actual date set, I'm looking for some people who are interested in clusterfucking a room for AFC. And when I say this, I don't mean have an orgy in the room (unless it's agreed upon, but not likely), but I mean get a BUNCH of people in a room to save on costs. Well, here's the thing...... I'M GETTING BACK TO THEM! I know I've been RIDICULOUSLY slow on them, to the point where I basically haven't touched them at all since January, but now that I'm getting back to my art, I'm gonna bring that list back out and get on them!
