So I have to ask, FA Staff, if it was such a massive disaster, why didn't the rollback happen immediately? Instead of leaving the system in a broken state and allowing it to become more broken as more submissions are made within it, why wasn't a backup used to return the site to original functionality until you found a better solution?

Did you even make a backup in the first place?

I'm not usually one to stand up and speak about... anything, but this is the sort of fuckup that would result in whole departments being fired in the business world. Volunteers or not, there's no excuse for not having a rollback/restore on the table immediately as soon as you knew things had gone south.

So what's the reasoning? What's the excuse? Why has the site been active in this state for over a week without a solution? It's causing more work and hassle for the staff and users alike to let things languish in this state.
