I have a message for those who think livestream audiences are "brown-nosers."

As an artist who makes a living from livestreaming, I have to tell ya... if you come into my room and start telling me how to draw, YOU ARE BOOTED. IMMEDIATELY. You folks who think you need to tell ANY artist what she is doing wrong are presumptuous assholes. Critique that is not asked for is hateful and destructive. It tears people down. "Constructive criticism," my ass! Most artists are very insecure already, and they don't need YOU, a loudmouth not-artist, making them feel worse.

(Personally, I don't have a confidence problem. You say I'm doing it wrong? Here, take my pencil and finish it for me. Yeah, I didn't think so.)

On the other hand, any encouragement you can give is a very nice thing to do. Tell a kid what she's doing RIGHT for a change. In a world where getting by day-to-day can be a struggle, having a place to go where there's people happy to see you is a wonderful thing. Let it be. If you think that's silly, then FUCK OFF. You're not needed.

DeviantArt cleaned out my galleries, just like they threatened to. I won’t be going back there for a while.

I have to say I’m thankful for my fans and customers, whose generosity and patience have allowed me to create a successful mid-life career that involves little more than sitting at home on the internet. Although it took years for my art to reach a level of quality that makes it all possible, and some of those years were almost penniless, I really do have it easy. (Now I just gotta tackle that backlog!) THANKS, ALL!

Friend of mine just died a couple of hours ago. Her life in recent years was very difficult. Bedridden and unable to speak. I’m glad she’s no longer suffering. She had many friends, and we all stayed in touch with her. I’m sad she’s gone, but I also feel good about seeing someone go peacefully, knowing she was loved.

See, this is what I'm talking about. Every onlline printer limits you to these off-kilter sizes. What is it with these BIZARRE sizes?? They're just... NOT NORMAL! I've owned many coffee table books over the years, and I have NEVER seen books that match these WEIRD sizes. WTF??

I'm always thinking on-and-off-again about self-publishing a printed book of my work. Every couple of years, I look up the various options, and I have to say, I have never found any service that looks acceptable to me. The prices are vague, the instructions are spotty at best, the size/paper/cover choices are limited. I don't get it. What am I missing?
