What dont you like about my art? :x (time to improve!)
Posted 9 years agoOkay, its that time of year again when I'm feeling a little blah about my art. I've noticed quite a marked dive in interest in my art as of late. Which is fine, C'est la vie! but as someone who enjoys sharing her work, it's still something I've been thinking over a lot lately. Instead of dwelling on it and taking it personally (or being a stereotypical self-hating artist) I want to use that and strive harder to improve my work. While I have a few key things I want to focus on (perspective, using more dynamic poses, etc) I don't always pick up on flaws that others might pick up on more easily, due to the fact I'm looking at my work all the time. :x
So I need you all, with fresher, more discerning eyes to lend me a hand. :) It stands to reason that if you're watching me it means you already like my art enough to keep an eye on what I do, or see some potential in my work. It might make this a little more difficult, but I really want to know if there is something about my art you don't like? Is it something like some weird quirk of anatomy? Or is it something a little more subjective, like too many of x gender/sexuality/species?
And is there something you think my art is lacking that needs improving on? More story telling? Maybe more backgrounds? Perhaps I should try different things or concepts, cultural themes, sci-fi, etc?
Please let me know Id love to hear people's thoughts :)

I'm Alive: An Apology and Update.
Posted 10 years agoI have to say, I am really, really sorry..
I've pretty much been M.I.A. since late October/early November. I haven't even touched FA since then x.x
I spent the greater part of November being ill and then it seems as soon as I was beginning to recover, I was thrown into mandatory work placement. It wasn't so bad as it was at a place I had worked before, however it ate up most of my time, and the free time time I had was spent on more work (of the art variety at least).
No excuses, just want to say where I've been and apologize for having been away from FA and thus nearly non-contactable.
I have quite a back log of things to catch up on, loads of art to upload, loads of notes to reply to and commissioners to contact with full updates on where things currently stand.
So if you sent me a not which hasn't been looked at or replied to, expect to hear back from me by the weekend. :)
In better news; I now have a new job! And it has early morning hours, so while I'm currently pretty exhausted, once I acclimatize to it better I should have plenty of free time to get back on art stuff during the rest of the day. :)
Additionally in the coming days, once I've gotten in touch with people and replied to notes, I will post a proper commission update, with a list of what I have to work on coming up, Long over due stuff, coupled with the full colour work ordered at EF. (thanks again to everyone, you have been wonderfully patient with me as I try and widdle down through this work!)

What am I known for?

I had this conversation with some people a little while ago, and I keep thinking about it.
I was wondering, what do you all consider to be my niche, or what I am known for as an artist?
Some artists are known for, or are liked because of how the illustrate wolves, some dragons, others for drawing other less common critters. While some are known for drawing certain fetishes, like lore, bondage, feral etc.
Sometimes it just comes down to a very broad style, realism, cartoony, anime, and so forth.
So, what would you say I am "known" for? Is there something about my art that drew you to watch me, other than a general, "I like the art/style"?

Patreon: A question of Rewards & Activities?
Posted 10 years agoI've had mine running for over a year now, and with that time, has come new ideas for rewards or interactions with fans and for ways to better run everything there.
First, I'd like to say, my Patreon has, and always will, act as a glorified tip jar (with rewards) and NEVER act as a paywall. You will always see my uncensored work here on FA. :) Backers simply see work first, get wips and high resolution files and other extras, many to soon be implemented.
I do however need to make some changes to my Patreon, as it was brought to my attention in a few instances now (recently in particular) that raffle style commission rewards are against the ToS. So I have been looking to add even more rewards to my backers tiers in order to replace or to compensate for the removed raffles.
So, I ask, what sort of rewards or activities would you like to see?

Eurofurence: Post-con work and update
Posted 10 years agoOkay, so I am finally back from EF! I am totally exhausted and possibly have a little bit of the concrud, but I'm feeling pretty good.
Those of you who were there and bought from me in the dealers den, thank you so much! You actually made this year my most successful dealers den ever, in the 10 or so years I've been attending :D You are all awesome! :D
I met so many new and awesome people, got closer with those I've known before. I really cant say enough how wonderful it is to get to know you all, I just wish there was more time to spend with people, and that I could get over my crippling shyness sometimes. I still feel so awkward. XD
I do want to make a bit of an apology! This year, primarily due to my neck and back pain/degeneration, I did have trouble getting art done, so was really terribly slow. I could barely get a sketch and a half done a day. :/ So I am deeply sorry to those who commissioned me and that I had to take their work home ;-; I'll be starting through these this afternoon!

But I am eternally curious and want to ask something a bit more specific.
What is your biggest/favourite fetish? The thing you see in art which really gets you going.
Is it something you've seen in my art before, perhaps that you'd like to see me do more of? If I've drawn it before, what was the image? Did the image hit those buttons or not and why did or didn't it?
Also, is your fave fetish something you'd like to see me illustrate some day?

FA,. seriously? stahp.
Posted 10 years agoEDIT: Also, Ad-block is a bandage, not a cure. I already use it for years, and i encourage others to use it. However People should be vocal, press the issue instead of ignoring or trying to find a way around it. that only allows Fa to shrug off the issue instead of trying to sort out their mess.
I love this site, I really do, and normally I dont like to add the the flood of voices that speak against what goes on here or the changes made..
But the banner layout is an ugly mess. If IMVU ads really need the best site real-estate, That seriously isn't the best way to do it.
And a friend brought to my attention that it is even worse on phones, the ads take up twice as much space as the actual content does. That its just ridiculous. x.x
What are you doing FA?
PS. wouldn't it be better near/by where people put in comments etc? Or just a constant at the top of FA and not taking out ridiculous space at the side of submissions?
What do you want to see from me?
Posted 10 years agoit's that time again! Been feeling a little low about my art lately, and would like to try and work on some little challenges as well as touch base with all of you :)
So, I'd simply like to know, what would you like to see from me? More of something I've done before, or a new subject I've never really touched on? Certain species? Body types?
More or less adult works? If adult works, what sort of fetishes?
More slice of life stuff, or certain themes and scenarios you'd like to see?
And to that effect, is there anything i do you are not keen on, or that you maybe think i need to work on more?
I'm not adverse to some critique, in fact sometimes I find FA doesn't offer a lot of that, and that saddens me sometimes as I think it needs more of a critiquing network. I like to challenge myself and try and grow or expand. :3 it's good to see your strengths and weaknesses from someone else's perspective :3

So, I'd simply like to know, what would you like to see from me? More of something I've done before, or a new subject I've never really touched on? Certain species? Body types?
More or less adult works? If adult works, what sort of fetishes?
More slice of life stuff, or certain themes and scenarios you'd like to see?
And to that effect, is there anything i do you are not keen on, or that you maybe think i need to work on more?
I'm not adverse to some critique, in fact sometimes I find FA doesn't offer a lot of that, and that saddens me sometimes as I think it needs more of a critiquing network. I like to challenge myself and try and grow or expand. :3 it's good to see your strengths and weaknesses from someone else's perspective :3

FA: Why should I leave? Why should I stay?

Personally, I'm likely staying. I'm only just back after a hiatus. There's a supposed exodus every other month or so. x3
On top of that, I see people complain all the time about how Neer runs things, that he should give it up to someone else, etc. And when he finally does, now people arn't happy with that either.
This just underlines just how you can never please everyone.
As far as i see, the terms that artists seem to be having trouble with are the same terms that every site ever has in order to legally be able to show/host your works on.
So why is this some how different?

Sorry I've not been around much lately and haven't touched my FA notes, I've been totally caught up in trying to finish art and preparation for Eurofurence. :) I'll catch up with notes and things upon my return!
I leave tomorrow morning (18th) and should be back on the eve of the 26th. :)

Fursuit making tutorials and resources?

I don't know if there are many fursuit builders watching me, or anyone who knows where I might find good tutorials, information and resources for suit building?

I'm both very nervous and excited by trying this. Originally I wasn't going to do one, but then I realized some of the potential of having one (assuming people do back me there). :3
Like many other artists here on FA, my art and illustration is how I make my living. Perhaps its not some lucrative job, where I'm rolling in money, (not by a long shot!) but it helps me keep a roof on my head, food in my tummy, and bills paid. :3 And while I really love working as an artist, it can be really back breaking and surprisingly exhausting work. There's just no way around it. Because of art being my job, I have to constantly work away at commissions. Don't get me wrong I enjoy commission work, I love working with all of you, you are amazing <3 and I love the challenges it provides! However, because I have to put so much time and focus into commission work, I just don't have any time for anything else, especially my own ideas or creativity. Sooo many big projects I would love to reward fans with but I just don't have the chance to, because of having to go from commission to commission. There's so much personal stuff, like doing art and world development of Shi'Imora, that just never happens because of this.

Even just a little support from generous fans, will help me to take on less commission work, thus giving me more time/compensation for all the creatures, worlds, ideas going on in my head. Also, this doesn't mean I will stop sharing content publicly. On the contrary.
