Telegram channel for art!
Posted a year agoHello! While I don't think FA will disappear or anything, I figured it was high time to create a channel where I can post my art in higher resolution as well as more easily post WIPs or sketches I would normally never bother posting here. So if you want to see some of that, feel free to join the channel!
https://t.me/+wEVMbVKQqz0wZDFk
I will still obviously post here and as a backup I am also posting on my IB https://inkbunny.net/Ferobird69
Hope ya'll doing well!

Quick update, with coffee time.
Posted 7 years agoTook a trip to the US during July and returned 2 weeks ago, and I've slowly gotten back on the art track. I had a blast with
Windpaw and
Tuke while there, plenty of art time was had. I posted a lot of traditional stuff during my time there as I didn't have much digital capability there. Now I got a lot of bird art to do, the next RompMania fight is sketched out and looking good even if I say so myself.
I also opened up tips for coffee! http://ko-fi.com/ferobird If you've liked my art and wish to support what I do, consider tossing some love laced coinage my way! It's a good motivation for my projects like RompMania, and if you really like some particular project, feel free to motivate me with tips for it! I plan on keeping all money earned in the fandom by commissioning more bird art for us to enjoy.
Stay tuned for more arts!

Life update
Posted 7 years agoSpoiler alert: It's nothing dramatic.
I finished my studies in June last year and I got fairly lucky and scored a job last November. Doing electrical and automation design work for an engineering company, not 100% the same thing I studied, but in the ball park. So now that I am not unemployed, that 8 hours of work does eat quite a bit into my drawing time and motivation, so I haven't really drawn all that much lately. Unfortunately that's just how it'll be from now on as I much prefer getting loads of money and not leech off of social security, and pay my taxes like a good little citizen.
I'll still be drawing, but I really can't say how much. Sometimes I get inspired for a few weeks and get plenty done and then hold a hiatus for some time as the motivation drains. On the plus side, more commission money so can at least add to bird art that way. I'll probably do more low effort sketches instead of full color pieces, but we'll so. Romp Mania will still continue as projects are the only thing I tend to find somewhat motivating to do.
That's sort of all I guess, just been ignoring FA for a while now so figure I'd give a quick update.
Cheers,
Fero

Voting for voting of RompMania! Please take time to vote!
Posted 8 years agoCurrently the idea is that your votes dictate who wins the RompMania (explained here http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/8323951/ ) but there is another option. All the characters have stats for strength, speed, stamina and seduction. They will roll against each others stats (base stat + rolled stat) as attacking, their stat HP being 2 x their base stat. Currently this dice rolling game dictates how the fight will progress in the written story piece for each fight, but the end result is determined by your votes. However, there is another possibility of voting. The one who wins the popular vote gets +1 to each stat or +2-3 points to HP of each stat to make winning for that character more likely, how ever it doesn't guarantee the win. It's a very likely win, but there is the chance of a come back for the loser of the popular vote. The mechanics aren't set in stone yet, I just want to hear your input on it. Poll would end about a week from now, so vote here on how you'd want it!
https://strawpoll.com/49544hcr
This will also check overall voting interest so please vote "Fine with any" if you have no preference
More stuff to come soon :>

Now hear yee, hear yee! This is an announcement for -you-!
Posted 8 years agoThis is a project I have been meaning to do for a while now that involves you, the viewer! The project is called -hold for applause...
RompMania: Featherweight League
As you clever witted creatures have probably surmised, it is a wrestling themed contest where different species of eagles are paired up against one another and they fight for dominance! This is where -you- come in. As there is a fight between two eagles, you get to vote on who wins. Votes are gathered up and the one with the most votes will most likely win! I say most likely, as I have yet to decide on if there are additional game mechanics to the fighting (rolling dice on attributes, some such). But the audience vote is what will count the most heavily. After the winner has been chosen, I will be drawing him/her humping the loser along with other flavor sketches of announcers commenting on the fight.
There will likely be 8 characters, all eagles of different species (for the first season anyway). I'll be drawing a profile for them, some backstory for those interested and perhaps stats depending on what the game mechanics end up being. You will also be able to leave suggestions on how you'd like to see the winner top the loser and I may take influence on them. It will most likely be a double-elimination tournament, as in first there are four 1 v 1 matches and winners of those matches then fight the winners of the other matches. Not every species gets to fight every other species as there would simply be too many things to draw, but I figure I'll do multiple seasons over the years of this and pair the regulars differently the next time.
I'll post more on this in picture form once I get it a little more fleshed out, but I'd like to hear your voices on this, if it's something you're interested in participating in. I've wanted to do more community interaction for a long time and I think it'd be fun to have you voting on your favorite fighters to influence what I draw. Feel free to offer suggestions too, but do let me know if this is something you'd participate in. The voting will be a quick process through some web voting app, so it won't take too much of your time.
That's all for now!

Other ways to reach my art.
Posted 10 years agoConsidering there is a lot of fuss going, I'll just post this heads up on here.
My art can also be found on my Inkbunny page as well as my Weasyl page.
On other news, art is still slow as motivation is what it is. Still have pictures under works so I'll eventually upload more stuff.
Don't be hesitant to note me or follow on twitter or gmail me if you want to say hi or ask something.

Potentially up for some commissions soon.
Posted 11 years agoHello to all manner of creatures that are watching me!
I recently moved to a new apartment and started second year of university, all of which sort of require money. So I figured I might look into taking commissions soon. I still have a few pictures from EF that I'd like to finish before I start accepting commissions though.
I've only really drawn birds, so I'm better at drawing feral birds than anything else. I have sketched a gryphon and bit of a dragon so I won't rule them out, but if someone wants me to do a gryphon, it means I have to practice for it as I go. That being said I've always meant to start drawing gryphons and dragons some day, but that day hasn't really arrived yet.
Anyhow, this doesn't mean that I will start taking commissions 100%, but if there are people who are interested, you can leave a comment saying if I should do so. Or if you want to reserve a potential slot.
Anyhow, thanks for listening and have a good day!

Murry Christmas!
Posted 12 years agoYou probably get a bunch of these journals to your inbox, but since we here in Finland celebrate the 24th, I can probably get mine out before majority of others!
We got absolutely no snow on the ground here in southern Finland, which is not unheard of but certainly is rare. November was the warmest in recorded history, which spans about 135 years.
But who cares its holidays and everything's jolly! So have a good one and continue on being naughty.
And speaking of naughty, I got one more picture coming out this year which involves many birds... being naughty.
Ho ho ho.

I kinda started on this feral burd orgy pic a few months back and it was originally meant to be a threesome but it kinda grew in size a bit. Also due to me moving out and school starting I haven't been too active on the drawing side. Kinda feeling bad because I haven't uploaded anything in a few months.
So, still alive. Just... lazy.

Moving out! Time to fledge.
Posted 12 years agoIt has come time now after 19 years to finally fledge and leave home. I have not drawn anything recently so the move won't really affect my drawing. It will be a relatively quick move as well, probably only takes some hours to be up and ready to go again.
I'm moving to a city for my studies that start 27th of this month. I'll first move to a flat that is not so close to the place of study, but when the apartments in the center of town become available, I will move there.
It's a bit exciting to finally move on my own. I don't know how much the studies impact my time to draw in the future, probably not too much. I might even draw more since I got some privacy now.

My 165 days in the army has passed and all though it wasn't all that pleasant, I suppose it had some positive aspects to it.
Anyhow, now that it's over, I have time for drawing and all other fun stuff so expect more artwork soon.
First though, we are going to spend the midsummer's day at our cabin so not going to start drawing just yet.
Thanks to all of you who kept me entertained and supported me while I was there, you guys (and gals) are awesome!
Now, till next time, Keep your tails high!

The war's over! (pics included!)
Posted 12 years agoWell, the final war exercise at least. I still got roughly 3 weeks (19 days) of army left, but it will be easy, sitting around, fixing and returning stuff. You can almost call it over.
The last three weeks have been quite eventful and mostly spent camping and shooting. The one called "end war" was a two week camp and I came home last Thursday. This was also the first camp that I brought my phone to so I could at least take some pictures. As luck would have it, I became sick during the last few days of the camp which made it quite physically hard and I still am sick and feverish. Could be my old friend pneumonia but we'll see.
The first 7 days of the camp were as any other camp. We'd do combat exercises like encountering a mine field, clearing it co-working with engineers and practicing the usual stuff that our unit does.
Our camp site was part of a big area where there were many other companies. There were buildings, even sauna and a beach, but we of course sleep in tents as we are supposed to. It's actually quite alright, even though it is a bit small. But hey, it's cozy. Check this little hut out: http://i1300.photobucket.com/albums.....ps2212dfa0.jpg
There were some pretty shitty days and a few easy days. It was sunny all the time. It was a plus in moments like these: http://i1300.photobucket.com/albums.....pscaa4d11b.jpg But a curse when you had to work your ass off in full gear and a heavy weapon.
Friday was our last day doing the normal stuff. We took part in a big exercise that was sort of a show for the higher level officials. Our part was just like 30 minutes and it was pretty straight forward. After that we had to spend hours and hours, I think total of 8 without eating anything just because we had to take a few pictures and wait for some general to come and speak 3 sentences and leave. The view was fine though: http://i1300.photobucket.com/albums.....ps8b00d6f1.jpg
Here are some of our tanks being cared for before the final battle: http://i1300.photobucket.com/albums.....psc026b13e.jpg
And here's me just so you can see what kind of stuff I have to carry around. Most of it useless. http://i1300.photobucket.com/albums.....ps84abceb4.jpg
I really don't get why we have so much stuff, we are scouts, we are supposed to be more light for easier movement but basically we are the same as any other infantry it seems. And yeah, that gun is big AND heavy. It's fun to shoot but not fun to carry around for miles. The big thing on the barrel that screams 90's is the laser that shoots when the gun fires. We normally have more modern versions of it, but since we were not the "important" unit (We were more of a target, but we still managed to make it to our goals and win our parts) we had these old ones that didn't work with the newer vests at all. At least we had referees who judged who won the gunfights. This army stuff does not suit me at all.
Anyway, when it came Saturday evening, we left for our final settlement. Here's a video of our mechanized unit leaving the camp: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WEPPIlecxVc
Though just our luck, our APC broke down because the cooling stopped working and the engine temperatures went sky high. We had to pull over to someone's yard for a moment. On the bright side, I managed to find a new friend in the ditch. Meet Bob: http://i1300.photobucket.com/albums.....ps3cf28c0e.jpg http://i1300.photobucket.com/albums.....ps6a049b70.jpg
We finally managed to drive our APC 500 meters further for a rest stop. It's about 11PM at this point http://i1300.photobucket.com/albums.....ps5eec15e0.jpg
But again, the view of Lapland never gets boring: http://i1300.photobucket.com/albums.....psa922122e.jpg
So we finally make it to the campsite when they tow us along. This was to be my nest for the next few days: http://i1300.photobucket.com/albums.....psa922122e.jpg
It was surprisingly comfortable.
On Sunday, the battle phase started. It was first 18 hours of action, then 12 hours of rest and then 18 hours of action again. Considering I had become sick, it was extra tiring for me, I really felt like dying a lot of times with the heat and the weight of my gear. At least we had some time to rest occasionally. Again, the scenery was pretty epic. This was taken around 3AM: http://i1300.photobucket.com/albums.....ps606b242e.jpg
Here's a small video of the fighting I managed to capture while I was supposedly dead: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tLYnGQwinPE
It's not all that exciting looking, but the major firefight had already taken place and it was just a few shots exchanged. You really can't see what you are shooting at in most situations. You see a muzzle flash and you fire at that.
I don't want to write a long story of everything that happened, I got a head ache and I need to go resting.
I wanted to do some drawing this weekend but of course I get sick and I have done nothing this entire weekend. Luckily this all ends in 3 weeks and I can resume drawing and normal activities.
And now that you have seen me in army gear, I don't want that image to get stuck in anyone's mind so here's a few normal images if you really care.
This is before military: http://i1300.photobucket.com/albums.....psc7b3c2b3.jpg (excuse the bad quality)
And this is after: http://i1300.photobucket.com/albums.....ps271f7355.jpg
Yes, our toilet has marine decorations. Deal with it.
Well, I think that's all. I was supposed to do this earlier but never felt up to it before and now I have to do this before I leave again.
Anyhow, you people have a good week and may the wind ever be in your favor.
Regards, Ferobird.

The final stretch.
Posted 12 years agoRight so it is 39 days remaining. There's still a big final stretch to go trough. Next week starts the streak of action. It will start as a 5 day camp where we go to this barren area and have combat exercises there. What makes it different from previous exercises is that EVERYTHING uses live ammunition. First time for the Leopard tank crews to fire with us. After that, we get to go home for the weekend to rest a bit for the final camp that is called "the end war".
The end war is situated in Lapland and it is a huge exercise with forces coming from all around Finland and basically put into 2 teams that fight against each other in controlled areas. No, we do not use live ammunition to shoot each other, but we do have lasers in our weapons and vests that detect them. The camp will last for one and a half weeks so I won't be at home during that. We'll be home Thursday which gives me a nice 4 day weekend.
After that, it's basically over. At least the hard part. Then it will be about 3 weeks of returning stuff and fixing things into good condition and some filler activity. My army officially ends 20.6 and I can't wait. I hope it will be a sunny, warm day and I walk out of that gate with normal clothes, aviator classes and a smile on my face.
Then I will got time for drawing again! And everything else too! I must confess that I've had plenty of time to draw during weekends but just couldn't get myself to do it because I am lazy and all that.
That is all for now. Shake a tail feather, it is spring time!

Just another update...
Posted 12 years ago... to let you know that I am still here even though I am not really doing anything.
I did manage to get some work done on the next comic page and commissioned Windpaw to draw some birdyness.
There is still ways to go before my service ends, but the end is getting closer and closer. Only got about 2 months of the military training, after which there is like 2.5 weeks of not doing anything and then it is over and I get to continue drawing like normal.
Well, I do have to move to a new city and start studying for the next 4 years, but I should still have plenty of time to keep drawing.
Anyway, must leave for the base now.
Hope you are all well and good.
Regards, Ferobird.

Posted 12 years agoJust a quick update. I got a twitter now so if anyone is willing to stalk me then go ahead and add Ferobird69 to your list.
In other news, I'll be spending the whole of next week camping. No, it won't be fun. I am in the military. Nothing here is fun.
Also wondering which part of my body will break first. Ankles do not count since they are already busted.

Not dead.
Posted 12 years agoI was asked if I was dead so I thought this would be a good time to write an update on things.
I am currently eating rum raisin chocolate ice-cream.

PS. We didn't get to have any say in what we were going to do or specialize in our squad so we were just told what we would do. So they made me a machine gunner. This is what I get to fire: http://www.rusmilitary.com/images/p.....achine_gun.jpg and I tell you, it feels quite ballsy. Downside being it weighs 11kg when fully magged, add combat vest and fragment vest that add a nice amount of additional weigh plus all the clothing you need for the Finnish winter... it is a fucking heavy package I tell you that. My back hurts. Still pretty ballsy gun.
I got about 2 months and 2 weeks of heavy combat training ahead of me and about 3 weeks of not doing jack shit after that. Then I'll be finished! (quite possibly physically too). Next week will be nothing but combat training. Boarding the APC and getting out over and over again and moving in terrain and all that. After that, we got a week of nice camp life when we go shooting and training in the forest. We fire live rounds with is quite a big deal considering we are not in a controlled environment on a shooting range, but literally almost in a real situation. We are not firing blanks, and I am sort of surprised they let us do that so early with not so much of similar training without live ammunition. So, it's no play. I really hope everyone can handle their damn guns with live ammo in it. I rather not have anyone kill themselves or even more so, shoot me in the ass.
Did I tell you my back hurts? And my legs?
Anyhow, I can fieldstrip that bitch in 1 minute now. That includes disassembling it while prone, getting up, going back down and assembling it back together. Cut my finger in the process, but it was well worth it. Not really. Everything of me is sore. Here are all the parts: http://i724.photobucket.com/albums/.....s/DSC00469.jpg
So that is all for now. Hoping I can do some drawing this weekend and continue on the next comic page. Got so many ideas to draw and no time, it is annoying as hell.

Update on things
Posted 12 years agoHello all.
My recruit period ended last Friday which means I guess I am a soldier now. We also got to know how long we would serve and what we would be doing. I got the 6 month service as I wanted. It's not exactly the kind of job I want to be doing, but it lasts for that 6 months so it's over quickly. When I say 6 months, that means that the 2 months I have already spent there is included. And since the service time was cut by 2 weeks on every field, this means that after next week of being sick some more, I got 3 months and 2 weeks left of that crap.
That being said, I am still or again, sick. There was like 5 days after the pneumonia anti-biotics had worked that I felt like a healthy human being again. Then I get another fucking flu. Fuck me again. It has been running for a week now, since I could not rest well in the army. In fact, I think I was recovering but now I am more sick because I didn't get any rest. To top that, since I was sick and didn't move or run much for the past month, I had loads of running and physical stuff last week that my ankles decided that they would break and now I got a repetitive strain injury in both of my ankles. Right ankle being the worst.
So, despite me wanting to do good and get in good shape, my asshole of a body refuses to co-operate. This is sort of bad because I was chosen to the scout troops. This is a lot of forest camping, having full gear and running around in there. So naturally you need a good shape, which I do not yet have thanks to my forced inactivity. So I can only hope I can get to exercise soon and my body doesn't break any further.
So what do scouts do? Basically I an specialize in a few positions. There is a basic rifle man, leader, assistant leader, machine gunner, light and heavy AT guy, marksman and I guess some other stuff. Since I am a pretty good shot, I will probably want to go marksman with a sniper rifle. The AT guys carry such heavy loads that I don't think my body type fits (specially with me being left weak by the sickness and all)
So yeah, that's my situation now. Not too much to cheer but at least it's 3 months and 3 weeks left rather than 10 months. Again, sorry for the lack of art. This weekend I would have had loads of time, but I had a friend stay over and I couldn't draw anything. I really want to put up more stuff but there just is no damn time or I feel too tired after a hard week.
That's all for now, I hope you are all doing well. Heading back to base in a few hours myself.
Regards, Ferobird.

Right... so I am recovering now.
Posted 13 years agoAbout 5 days ago I was diagnosed with starting pneumonia and got some strong anti-biotics for it. Anyway, the drugs helped and I am finally recovering. I have been sick for 3 weeks. Every day during that 3 weeks, I had high fever. Not all the time but at least once I day I would hit 39 degrees at some point.
Now they relieved me to home care for this week. So basically I am on vacation till Sunday when I will head back to the base as I normally would from a weekend vacation. I have NEVER been this sick for so long.
But now since I am at home and I start to feel healthy once more, my affection to drawing has returned and I have so many things I must start on! I hope to upload at least one picture that I promised as a gift and started a month ago. Then there are few adult art pics like the next comic page, Sawyer's pin up (finally...) and some nice winter pic with a few steaming eagle parts...
Anyway, that's all for now. I feel less tired, but that will change once I get back on the normal army schedule.

Another week gone.
Posted 13 years agoBoy this week was full of combat training and very physically challenging compared to the other weeks. Or it would have been if I hadn't laid in a bed in a sick bay for the ENTIRE week. I've had a fever and a various other symptoms of flu/influenza for TWO weeks straight. I have never been sick for this long.
Wasn't that bad. Just laying in the bed, watching movies with a phone and talking with people. Beats any other military curriculum. But I am still feeling very ill and if the fever persists, I must go there again.
F*Caugh* me.
On a side note, since I haven't felt like drawing and now that I am sick and can't really focus on drawing, I figured I'd use this time to write you stories of what my characters are REALLY about. There is a huge story behind them and it's rich with events that I've told in my head for my entire life really. It will not be a sexual story, though there will be some of that in occasionally, but it is not a fap story. I want to do this because I think you people deserve to know who Sawyer actually is, instead of being a tail whore for the bird kingdom as I've let you people see him as.
I'm hoping that those who want to know more of the characters and the story behind them will find it interesting. I am not much of a writer, but I will try to make it as professional as I can. I don't really know where to start the story specifically, so I'll work it out as I go.
Let me know if you have any questions.

The first two weeks.
Posted 13 years agoFuck me did that feel like a month. I'm exhausted, I am sick and I have no idea where to start.
In short, army is not a pleasant experience. As you can imagine, it is strict and hard. You wake up at 6:00 (AM) and you have 15 minutes to get up, dressed, make your bed neatly, do your toilet business and be ready to form a 3 row outside (worst is when you we have morning jog so you have to wake up at 05:30 and you have only 3 minutes to get up and dress, technically 2 minutes since at 1 minute you have to be ready to go). After which you stand there in the freezing Finnish winter (-20 to -30 degrees) for about 5 minutes so everyone is out and then everyone marches in formation to the catering for breakfast. Depending on schedule, you have about 5 to 10 minutes to eat. 15 if lucky. Speaking of eating, we do get a meal 3 (4th is optional) times a day. It is not as bad as I thought it would be. Finland has "free" school food and army food is basically the same, expect less tasty. You just don't have time to eat.
We have about 10 to 12 hours of training each day. It might be theoretical lessons or practical lessons. So far we have mostly had lessons on rules, behavior, army stuff in general and weapons. We got our own assault rifles pretty soon after starting too. Since then, we've learned to maintain and field strip them and also fire with them. This is the weapon we mostly use: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rk_62 though we will also be trained to use other weapons, such as http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PK_machine_gun , AT weapons, grenades and mines.
Anyway, shooting is probably the only fun bit. Having a combat vest and a backpack filled on your back is a heavy combination and walking/running with them on can really feel like death.
There are 10 of us sleeping in the same room and we've all become friends. We do have a lot of fun during breaks. I have not met a single asshole yet and despite it being strict, the instructors and superiors seem nice.
These first weeks have been though physically and mentally, and it will continue to be so, if not even tougher. Frankly I have no idea how this will develop. I thought I'd only have to spend 6 months there and it would be quite a certain thing. I've learned that even though 6 month training is there, most people end up having to train for 12 months. Due to my situation, having a study place waiting to start after summer, I have a better chance at getting the 6 month training, but it is not guaranteed. This is troubling, since I can only really afford 6 months. I will not give away my study place, so if I do end up with 12 month service, I will call it quits and leave. That means that I have to do 'civilian service' for a year at some point later on. Basically it's an alternate here for military. You do some non profit (you do get paid like 8€ per day, but you do not receive salary) work for the government. Basically this would be nicer, since you do get to live a normal life, instead of military life. I could be drawing porn for example, which I can't while I am in the army.
Anyhow, do I have problems? Yes, I do. I have some physical issues that I hope can make my service slightly easier (or if I get lucky, end up relieved from both army and civilian service). Basically there are 4 sorts of papers you can have. A, B, C and E (there is probably D, but forgot what it was for). A is that you are good to serve in the army. B is sort of easier option. If you got some condition, you will not have to do so much heavy lifting or stuff like that. For example, my posture is not perfect. When I was a kid, I used to play a lot (well, I still do) but I always sat in a bad posture, so I ended up with it. It is nothing extreme, just slight, but it causes back problems when holding heavy stuff in my back, more than it would on a normal posture. So carrying heavy bags makes my back lock up quite easily and make it quite hard. So that will be a problem and I'm hoping I can get at least B papers.
C papers means that you are relieved of duty completely. This means army AND civilian service. This is mostly if you have some worse condition or you have mental issues. I have an issue in the army that I do not face normally (just rarely) in civil life. It's the fact that I can't burp. Yeah, I just can't do it. No one really knows why. The problem is that burping is used to release air from stomach. The fact that we only have about 5 mins to eat a full meal every time means that you have to eat very quickly. This puts a lot of air in your stomach which I can't release. So my condition is that this air will make me feel so full and it starts to feel bad. My mouth starts to create a lot of saliva that I have to keep swallowing (making even more air) and I start getting hick-ups and breathing gets more annoying, since you don't have so much room for it. It will keep feeling worse and worse if I don't get to lie down for an hour. That is the only thing that helps. If I don't get to lie down, eventually it starts to feel like I'd need to puke, but nothing comes up. So basically, a really shitty feeling. Now add 30 kilos of weight strapped on you and you have to walk around with it. Starts to feel like death.
This is a problem that I think will be the biggest issue. I've had that same thing almost every day, but luckily we have not done anything too tough physically yet (except once, that fucking sucked) I'm hoping I can get C papers with this. That would mean that I didn't have to do this bullshit and could just continue living as I did before. I could draw all I want or play guitar all I want. How fucking great would that be.
Anyway, I'll look into it next week. I'm getting hungry now and I need to visit the store to get some food.

Right, well now it begins.
Posted 13 years agoI leave for the army service on Monday which is tomorrow on the 7th day.
The first two weeks are very busy and I don't have the first week end off, so I have to spend it there, but I'll be back home on 18th. Also I am unsure of how much I can keep contact on the first two weeks, since I hear it a lot busier than normally and there is a lot to get set up to. In the worst possible scenario I can't make any contact here during that time (depending on how I can access WIFI)
For those who do not know, Finland has a mandatory army system that lasts for minimum of 6 months and maximum of 12 months. Mine will last 6 months due to my studies starting after summer.
So anyhow, I hope I can keep in touch and I try not to point a gun at myself.

Merry what-ever-the-fuck!
Posted 13 years agoA good chance is that a certain red/white colored chubby old man will visit and leave you presents or has already done so, depending on where you live.
I wanted to let you people know, coming from the real home of Santa, that before coca-cola branded it with the colors you know him as, he wasn't the nice guy that we all know and love. He was actually out to punish kids that were naughty.
What does he really look like? This: http://imgur.com/a/pewt9
Yes. That's him... it. A big, horned creature. What were his elves like then? Basically "Santa" or "Joulupukki" as he is actually called, kind of turns people he devours into zombie like beings. Old men with beards, skin and bone, working for Santa forever. They would steal naughty kids and replace them with woven replicas that looked quite creepy.
So, let us all remember the true meaning of Christmas!
FEAR
Merry Christmas!

PS, to cheer you up if you are frightened, here's a lovely piece by Tuke of Sawyer and Ritchie cuddling together:

My future situation.
Posted 13 years agoI think this is as good a time to mention this as any, but in January 2013 I have 6 months of military training ahead of me. This is mandatory here in Finland, every male citizen must go trough it. Well, there is another option, but it takes a whole year, so I rather have the military schooling. That being said, it's a bit like a school. Don't know if it needs any further explaining.
It lasts for 6 months minimum but I do get weekends off (exceptions do occur). So the amount of art I can do and post will be reduced due to time restrictions. This honestly sucks. My guitar playing hobby will suffer, my drawing hobby will suffer. Pretty much everything. I want to progress in drawing, but now I know that after 7 months from now, I probably haven't improved much, if at all. It will be it's own experience, but I hate everything that restricts my freedom to do things.
I'll probably be available though for almost every day, our day "ends" at 18:00 or 6 PM after which we have free time. But it's not private nor can I really draw anything except maybe sketching some stuff. I can at least access FA.
Anyway, I hope you understand the lack of stuff starting from January and it really does bug me, but when I do come home on weekends, I try to find some time to draw things. To compensate for the lack of feral bird action from my part, I'll probably commission others to make more while I can't, if financial situation allows me to.
(Looking at
Tuke and
Windpaw)
By doing so, I hope to keep some sort of a flow of feral birds that this place needs more of!
Well, thanks for reading, that's all for now.
If you got any questions, feel free to ask or just comment what you think.
My best wishes to all of you,
John
(Looking at
Tuke and
Windpaw)By doing so, I hope to keep some sort of a flow of feral birds that this place needs more of!
Well, thanks for reading, that's all for now.
If you got any questions, feel free to ask or just comment what you think.
My best wishes to all of you,
John
Things to draw...
Posted 13 years agoSo this will be my memo and sort of "schedule" of things I will draw or want to draw. This is mostly for me so I remember all the ideas I get and I can add a new thing if something pops up in my mind. Though schedule might be a bad term, since the order of appearance might not always stick, I might upload something else before what's on top of the list, but I try to stick to it.
I'll also put some sort of a progress stat to it for those who really look forward to seeing my stuff or maybe you are just interested of statistics.
You might want to watch it for what's in stock for you in any case.
You can also leave any suggestions you might have in here for what you'd want to see and I'll take those into consideration.
I mean it. If you like what I draw and are a bird fan yourself, do give me ideas. Some ideas may be out of my comfort zone but ask anyway! As long as it's birds only and preferably birds of prey. Think about it. You don't even have to pay for it! Just say like "Hmm, you haven't done a Harpy eagle, I'd really want to see porn of it!". That simple. You can even suggest a position or details. After all, I am doing this not only for myself, but all you bird lovers out there. It's a shame so few draw feral bird porn... speaking of which, start drawing more of it!
What I will eventually do:
- Philippine eagle pin-up
- Harpy eagle (Ritchie) and golden eagle (Sawyer) fun
- Philippine eagle on Harpy eagle
- Something involving condor on eagle
- Bearded vultures, more variety of vultures in general! (I shall not rest until every species of vulture (and eagle) has had the chance to fill Sawyer's butt)
- African crowned eagles
- more focus on dem talons
- White tailed eagles
So, discuss. Give ideas. Talk to me. I am bored.
