Posted 15 years agoThis AC was omg amazing, definitely the best con I've went to so far. We got up there Wednesday and got right into the spring of things.
I got to meet so many great people and do so many crazy things I never even expected I'd be doing x3. It was so great to see all my friends that live far away and even one all the way from Qatar!!! I'm still recovering from the mass of toxins that I ingested this weekend so my mind is still a little too fizzy to make a full con report (I'll do one later though!). I hope PCD goes away quickly, this is like the 1st con where I actually feel it D:

So here's a basic update on my life since I'm almost never on AIM anymore heheh.
Schools basically done in 3 weeks (including exams) and thank god too, this semester has been soooo hard. Every weekday for the past 4 months I've just pretty much read everyday from noon till night ><. But it will be worth it when final grades roll around, I'm expecting close to a 4.0 this semester! Finally recovering from my freshmen year heh >.>
After this semester is done I'll probably spend a week or two up with
neokai and try to find a job in the area. Plans are if I get into George Mason University I'll move in with him and I'll be the happiest fox/(dalmatian now? hmm...)!!
This weekend should also be a great one as well. Most schools have a giant campus wide party near the end of the year and this one will be my current schools, dubbed quadfest! I already made a journal about it last year if anyone wants to read up on it heheh.

Spring break
Posted 15 years agoAbout damn time. Been soo flooded with school work and prepping to transfer schools I've hardly just had a chance to sit back and relax. Sorry I've been so sketchy with AIM and general communication in general, I don't mean to ignore anyone I'm just really busy a lot of the time and I forget to put an away msg on sometimes...
Anyhow, I'll be spending my week off in Maryland with getting into all sorts of trouble and stuff. Going to see the new alice in wonderland movie sometime this weekend also, it looks pretty nuts, can't wait to see it :D

For prospective skiers/snowboarders.... Do's and Do not's
Posted 16 years agoBeing back at the slopes recently brought this whole thing back to memory. Being pretty seasoned boarder/skier myself I've seen a lot of terrible things on the mountains. And I'm here to help you not make an ass of yourself while enjoying the winter season at your favorite ski resort!
First of all...
-Take a lesson
f you have never snowboarded or skied before, take a lesson. Please. I know we all want to be cool and say that "we taught ourselves" but when you try and teach yourself you're most likely doing it the wrong way (becoming accustomed to a bad stance for instance). It's always easy to pick out the self-taught snowboarders because they always ride with both their shoulders facing the nose of the board, what we like to call "riding with open shoulders" it's bad don't do it.
-Tip your ski/snowboard instructors
While it may seem like a job in paradise, and don't get me wrong it is fun, but it's also VERY stressful. Dealing with spoiled, bratty kids 3 hours at a time, keeping track of 5+ of them that look like every other bobble head walking around, and preventing meltdowns is a tasking thing. Especially during holidays where sometimes we have 10 or more kids to an instructor it gets very frustrating.
I recall one time specifically where I was taking a break with my group of kids inside the a cabin. I was giving them some hot chocolate and went back to get some more for the rest, when I was walking back I heard an "oops..." and what do ya know, johnny smarts spilled the cup all over the table. Okay no big deal, I clean it up and give the other kids their drinks and go get him a new one. I hand it to him and go to the bathroom. Upon my returning, what do ya know! there's fucking cocoa all over the table again. He asks for some more and I tell him he can only have water now. I walk away for some reason and a few minutes later I return AND HE SPILLED MORE. So I'm like how the fuck did he get another one!? Apparently he asked one of my co workers and she obliged. That kid was out to ruin my life I swear to god
So basically I'm saying we go through a lot and don't get paid much, a $5 or a $10 is greatly appreciated and makes our days a little better.
-Ride within your ability level
It's not okay for your 7 year old son to "pizza" all the way down an advanced run with his skiis, or skid down with his snowboard. Or really any age for that matter. If a run is too advanced or difficult for you Don't Do It. You might think it's cool to say that you've been down a double black diamond, but honestly, if it took you a half an hour to do it and you went below 5mph the whole time... can you honestly say you did it...?
You might ask "but how can I know without trying?" Well sit down junior because I'm about to tell you. Generally if you can make it down a green run (beginner) without falling down and maintain a constant speed, go for a blue run (intermediate) and so on. You don't need to be doing things that are beyond your skill level making advanced riders and others have to play frogger after you bail and your shit yard sales everywhere.
-Snow gear
This one especially deserves a bold title. Okay, snow is essentially frozen water right? Okay now bear with me because I know this is hard but it's not a good idea to wear your full camo hunting suit on the slopes. Why not you say? BECAUSE IT ABSORBS WATER AND MAKES YOU LOOK LIKE AN IDIOT. We even have a word for these fashion heroes, gaper. Yes you're a gaper if you go cruisin down the slopes in your camo overalls, camo jacket, camo gloves. Or the alternate, bright fucking orange that blinds everyone. Props to the people with neon 80's ski suits though, that shit's cool. So remember, you anre't hunting on the slopes so don't dress like it... Christ go buy some actual clothes meant for the snow, you know, like the kind that isn't like wearing a fucking sham wow absorbing half the mountain when you fall down.
-Ski lift
If you fall down when you get off of the lift. Move the fuck outa the way asap. There are people behind you and unless you want a ski up your ass (some of you might find this as an incentive) you don't want to be sitting there flailing around.
-your lift tickets after you use them
It's not cool to have 10 lift tickets dangling from your jacket to show how many times you've been to a mountain. It looks stupid and tacky, prune your jacket once in a while. Don't be a gaper.
Basically, just be safe, smart, and courteous and you should be fine and not piss anyone off lol.

We are all a little OCD...
Posted 16 years agoI didn't really think about it until last night when I was driving back to school from the bf's house and was snacking on some chocolate chips. I had 3 in my mouth and immediately had to put another in to make it an even number. For some reason whenever I had an odd number of them in my mouth it just felt uncomfortable lol.
neokai is the same way with the volume on the radio. It can't be on an odd number (11, 13, 17, ect) except for 15. It's fun to bother him with it sometimes hehe.
A few other things with me...
-I have to check my doors locks a few times to be certain they are locked.
-I sometimes check to make sure the oven/stove is completely off even when I haven't cooked ll day (my roommate is irresponsible about that so maybe it isn't that bad...)
-I hate having people I don't/hardly know sit on my bed (I'm always afraid they will get it dirty, I hate sharing blankets too lol)
I'm sure I have a ton more than I can think of at the moment, maybe neokai can list some more off lol x3. So what are some things you all are OCD about? Or peevish.

Back from florida and on my way to the mountains

Just got back from my weeklong trip to orlando FL with my bf last night at 10:30 or so.
Of course it figures that while we were down there the world decided to ruin a lot of our plans by making the temperature there the coldest it's been in 20 years or so. Poor neokai packed shorts and flipflops too hehe x3. But despite the weather giving us a hard time we still had an amazing time!
We met up with
, and 
and crashed at their place for a few days then went to universal studios, unfortunately sepf couldn't really join us because of work but we still had a lot of fun even though it started raining a little bit at the end haha. The new harry potter castle they are building over there is going to look really fucking amazing once it's done. Already it looks incredible and is ridiculously huge. Afterwords we hung out at city walk for a bit then headed back for some sleep. I'd like to thank them for being such generous hosts and having us over, we really appreciated it! :D
Saturday we met up with

, and 
and went to a gay club in the area called pulse. The club was really amazing and it was a ton of fun there. Neokai and I only drank like 3 drinks or so and somehow managed to get totally wasted and not remember much of the night, but anyhow...lol. We were there for a few hours then went to Ihop for drunk food and conversation (if that's what you call it lol). Were there for quite a while then we all went to some sort of sex store hahaha. I don't really remember much from there at all but I do remember trying on some gag harness type thing and that was an adventure in of itself x3. Sunday we also ate an amazing dinner over there, the chicken and ribs were delicious, props to the cooks ^^. Thanks for having us over so much guys, ya'll are really hospitable and great company to be around!
The rest of the few days we were there for we just spent some time with my mom, went shopping, restaurants, ect.

came down monday and went to dinner with us along with at the cheesecake factory. We ended up getting way too much food as usual and then went over to their house again, hung out a bit then went back to my hotel room along with james and haku. There we talked about crazy ass universe shit till 3 am haha.
So yeaaa, we had an great time down in the south. Thanks to all our friends who helped us do so! Ya'll are the best :3
Now I'm on my way up to snowshoe mountain for a weekend of snowboarding! More cold weather, wooooooooooooo.

Posted 16 years agoLeft wheeling IL at 4:00PM on monday and just got back to neokai's house at 6:00AM tues morning lol *yawn* We were all ready to kill ourselves at the end of the drive, don't think I've ever crashed harder in my life when we got back home x3
But enough about the un-fun stuff like that, MFF this year was pretty great. It wasn't 30 below zero like it was at all hours of the day like it was last year which was pretty nice considering I could hang outside of the hotel to escape the smell and not turn into an icicle. No fire alarms went off, and I don't think there was a dirty hot tub scandal like their was last year either. So good news there.
Got to see all my old friends and made new ones a like, I think my journal would use up it's icon limits to plug everyone in but ya'll know who ya are and can't wait to see ya'll again at fwa and party it up! And this time we will have a nice room to go nuts in so all the room bullshit some of us went through this con can be avoided.
I've caught way too many retarded inside jokes at this con than the other 3 I've went to combined DON'T CHA KNOW, it was just the BEE'S KNEES. Pretty sure my roommate and my family are going to hate me for all this shit haha.
Only regret is that I didn't get to drink or hang out much with a lot of people that I planned on meeting but I suppose with a few thousand people in a small hotel plans can get a little messed up and coordinated. Hopefully I'll get to make it up at fwa this year :D

So kinda disregard my old journal because a lot of things actually ended up working out. I was able to go up tp MD to be with however I still don't have a photo identification. No biggie though, we still had an awesome time.

Posted 16 years agoFirst let me say that I'm generally never emo, angry, upset, w/e. But all this shit in the past month has just really put me over the edge and this just kind of tops it off...
My 21st birthday is fast approaching (nov 8th) and what should have been a great weekend and such is looking to be quite the opposite...
As some may know my license recently got suspended 2 weeks ago and they took my license from me and gave me a paper that acts as my restricted license (without my photo or birthdate on it) so basically as I left the courtroom they left me IDless. Awesome.
So me thinking it's no big deal, I'll just get a identification card instead right? Wrong. Virginia is fucking retarded. I went into the DMV earlier today to try and obtain one only to be told that I can't be issued one. In VA you can't have a license and an ID card both at the same time unless I 'surrender' one or the other, and the kicker is that my restricted license (aka piece of paper with no identifying qualities about it) is considered my license so I cannot get an identification card. Fun how that works huh?
Basically now I either A. pay $100 and wait 1 month+ to get a passport or B. surrender my restricted driving abilities and get an ID card (not really a big deal since my dad took my car away from me anyhow). So all fine and dandy now eh? Nope. I was planning on leaving with my roommate tomorrow to go home where my bf was going to pick me up and spend the weekend at his place.
Now instead of that I have to go to the court on friday, surrender my license, go to the dmv, get an ID. Have him come down here through DC traffic and spend the weekend down here ruining the plans he had for us up there for my 21st. So now I can't drink, ruin my BF's plans, and inconvenience him. I feel terrible. Being 'depressed' is so unbecoming of me, I hate it -_-;

Pretty much the people who created DOTA (the custom map minigame sensation for wc3) have made a standalone game called Leage of Legends (or LoL for short lol). The game plays pretty much exactly like the wc3 dota game except the interface takes some getting used to.
I've been pretty obsessed with it today, the game is definitely a lot more stable than it's wc3 counterpart and it's only in open beta right now. So now is the time to get your practice in before it goes live, anyone can join atm.
I go by "Really" on the game so feel free to add me as a friend or start a game with me. Looking for some decent DOTA players or people that aren't drooling idiots and can learn to click buttons in the right order to play with or start a decent team. So yea check it out :D
