2023 music!
Posted a year agoHowdy furries, it's time for the 6th annual music journal! What were y'all listening to in 2023? Stuff that came out in 2023, old stuff you recently found, whatever you wanna throw in here! (I'll gradually check out everything but I may be bad at replying!!)
Vylet Pony's Carousel is maybe my favorite full album of 2023, but Constellation Cradle is absolutely my favorite song of 2023. popping the fuck off for the chorus no matter how many times I hear it.
Dog Weekend - Rituals (epilepsy warning: flashing lights/strobe effects)
reject humanity. become dog. Can't wait to hear more Dog Weekend tracks, I hope they put up more than just Rituals in 2024!
Starting about 20 minutes into this TECHDOG 7 track until the end is my Patricia Taxxon sleeper pick (especially 22min in). Her use of vocal chopping often makes for my favorite tracks of hers, and I almost missed this one with it being so deep into the TECHDOGs, well past where I was ready to write it off as not being music for me!
Circus-P's CMYK is a real big vocaloid album with a lot of tracks I like, but Better Off Worse has gotta be my fave and I really dig that the music video goes above and beyond with the youtube captions. Very cool to see so much care put into making banger captions within the limits of that caption system. Circus-P is also just one of my top listened to artists since like 2017, past time to throw one of their albums in one of these journals lmao
Aviators - Want to be Hunted is one of two songs that directly inspired me to doodle something so it's gotta be here haha. I continue to be a fan of when Aviators makes tracks about rivals locked in combat that are definitely gonna fuck
nelward - GHOST isn't from 2023 but I got really into nelward again this year and made a Cantio doodle about GHOST! Nothing else hits like nelward when I'm in the nelward mood.

Brell comic hiatus
Posted 2 years agohowdy howdy, it may already be obvious because of the no new pages, but the Brell comic is gonna be on an indefinite hiatus (and probably art in general for a bit!) I fully intend to finish it still this year, but I've been having a very rough last month and a half!!
A tree fell on my house, got a bunch of stressful overtime at work, my dog got sick, I developed hand pain, and now I have severe back pain that makes it so I can only sit for a short period of time. This all makes art pretty unpleasant to do, especially a big long thing like working on the comic. x-rays didn't show anything broken at least !! woooo *disintegrates*

I love Vylet Pony's vocals so much. Generally a much more subdued and chill album than Cutiemarks, it's been very pleasant to draw things with this on in the background. (also coming out in a week is her new album Carousel and the track Constellation Cradle on it is so fucking good aaa)
June LaLonde - Headjack (Fave: Hello)
Always a fan of June LaLonde's stuff, but this one in particular is really hitting my personal taste and is my favorite since Floating Rooms

I maintain a comprehensive dropbox archive of all my art. For the most part I've covered everything of interest in the furry dodles 1-14 posts, but it does have some random scrapped alternates, "SFW" edits for Tumblr, and occasional higher res pictures. The Cantio's Hubris comic is there at 2560x2560 res.
I've started making some little doodles that I can hand out to people that find me at MFF and want one. No guarantee that I'll have enough for everyone that wants one, but if you spot a Panko badge you can say howdy to me!

Unsurprisingly one of the top albums is by the musician that I drew 3 pieces of fanart for this year! I'm a fan of rapping over more non-conventional electronic music, vocaloids, and the particular weird unique sounds presented, so this eclectic album was all hits for me.

whoa an album that's not weird electronic music it's just gay angst indie pop (it's cool)

Mystery Skulls - Back to Life (Fav: Its Mine)
I've been diggin' Mystery Skulls more as time goes on, and actually bought the album this time round. Love him goin' deep for Its Mine.
Dorian Electra - Flamboyant (Fav: Flamboyant)
Dorian's got a wild aesthetic and sound and I'm into it.
Jay Tholen - Hypnospace Outlaw OST Vol. 1 (Fav: Chill it Right (Fre3zer))

I made some Mario levels (video of one at https://t.co/JXyvLmTVpY , the best I've done is an infinite checkpoint SMW thwomp level T07-F41-L0H)
Spendin' a bunch of time on tgchan/questden stuff. Loads of work on getting fanart uploaded and tagged on the booru. The recent flood of me actually posting things frequently but it all being quest fanart stuff is because I'm doing art requests in exchange for people tagging stuff (except for Dale that one was just because Dale is cute)
Haven't been working on 3D stuff lately outside of some quick reference stuff for drawings; working on the Snag model was annoying and I've been busy with other stuff.

The recent flood of me actually posting things frequently but it all being quest fanart stuff is because I'm doing art requests in exchange for people tagging stuff (except for Dale that one was just because Dale is cute)
Haven't been working on 3D stuff lately outside of some quick reference stuff for drawings; working on the Snag model was annoying and I've been busy with other stuff.

I have Project Slippi (r18), Faster Melee 5.9F, and Project M Netplay v4 set up. I'm in the us midwest and anything over 100 ping is probably gonna be DQ'd because high ping matches suuuck. If no one can win then the person who did the best gets a doodle.
I can't play tonight but around 9pm CDT until 9am CDT this Sat-Wed I should be pretty free (free as in I have free time not free as in an easy win! no furry will ever defeat me!!) Contact me in some way like commenting/dming/whatever and we can probably figure out a time. I'm up for playing friendlies too!
Doodle limits are the usual stuff, don't be gross, no knots/backgrounds, 1 (maybe 2) characters.
(Rivals of Aether and Slap City are maybes if we can get a good connection, I've had much less consistent online experiences with them)

If your character isn't chosen as the best, don't worry, it just means I hate both you and your character.
I'll probably draw it this weekend but maybe not who can really say.

1. No animal dicks.
2. I'll probably default to some manner of lewd pin-up if non-lewd isn't specified.
3. The owner of the character can't be someone that would get mad at me for drawing them.
4. You can enter even if you won one of the raffles.
