I have successfully moved out of the city and closer to my family.. This time around.. I don't have an apartment but my own house! (Yes. MINE. Not my parents house xD) .. Lilly has already fallen in love with the area and everything.. Over the next little bit I will take photos of the inside of the house and whatnot..

Hello everyone! I hope the holiday season is treating you well!

It seems like I only update journals at the end of the year lol I may have to fix that schedule :p.. I am surviving.. lol.. I fell on black ice when taking my dog for a walk and broke my femur and dislodged my kneecap ..

So needless to say, yes I am in pain this Holiday season.. I have crutches and a leg brace on .. I've seen both an ER doctor and a surgeon.. (The surgeon I saw yesterday) and he seems to think I will make a full recovery without the need for surgery..

I just have to slowly excercise my injured leg/knee and he has booked me in for physiotherapy sessions in January.. Lilly is fine btw... She was never injured as she was the one who tugged me across the black ice.. So she just sat there patiently as I screamed in pain ..

Hopefully your Christmas fares better than mine lol

Hello all,

I figured that since we are close to the end of the year it would make sense to make one big journal to let everybody know that I am still around and what has happened over the past few months.. I suppose the biggest thing that happened to me was I was rushed to emergency in November to have surgery done to remove my gallbladder because it became badly infected and the surgeons stated that if it wasn't removed immediately I would likely die..

It was a very stressful time for me solely because I was terrified I was going to die from the surgery (It was my very first time under the knife and I was scared and had nobody to really reassure me) luckily all went well and I have since fully recovered from the surgery..

I am planning to spend Christmas away from family this year and with my current roommate as this will be his first Christmas away from his family and friends, so I rather he not spend it alone.. We've already bought our Christmas gifts for each other and tonight is his birthday so I ordered and had a cake delivered for him and pizza for dinner..

Aside from that, not much else new.. Just been chilling with family and friends and enjoying my life as best as I can! Lilly is doing great and is very excited to get at her presents under our Christmas tree lol.. I always catch her pawing at them and have to tell her no.. :p .. Besides her, I've been keeping busy maintaining my Youtube channel with new live content as well as helping co-host the "Pirates Of The Geek Vortex" podcasts every Friday evening!

I figured I'd add a new journal that isn't from a year or so ago to just state that I still check FA occasionally but a majority of my time is spent working on my Youtube channel "The Gamer's Grotto", the weekly "Pirates Of The Geek Vortex" podcast which my friends and I host/co-host, V/O work for various indie game developers and gaming with friends, as such I no longer attend conventions..

I still hop in occasionally to reply to comments or to add new artwork to my favorites, but that aside I am not as active on FA as I used to be..

I have never laughed this hard at a court case in my life.. Scamber Turd is really hilarious in her court battle with Johnny Depp.. Like.. She has a lawyer who objects to his own line of questioning.. None of her stories are making any lick of sense .. She is constantly contradicting her own stories and (lack of) evidence..

And her most recent testimony was soo frazzled that I'm beginning to think she is seriously taking hardcore drugs..

Like.. This is an actual quote of her testimony when she was asked to remember an incident with Johnny...

"I remember waking up to my friend on cellphone speaker .. and it was next to me on both sides of me, all around me.. I got up from the bed and the carpet on the floor.. and saw a boot try to make payments on a bedframe.."

.....I'M SORRY.. WHAT??!!.... WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN??!!!?...

She makes zero sense.. Its like watching a grave digger digging his own grave ... every day lol..

This month has been like no other.. A lot of friends have passed away.. Family is sick (Dad's cancer has gotten worse).. I made stupid mistakes with long time friends all because of my own idiocy and the fact that I tend to believe and listen to others before thinking things through rationally myself.. And I've had an overwhelming sense of dread thus far.. Feeling like I'm going to die in my sleep or that my dog Lilly will die...

On top of all of that I feel completely stuck in a shitty apartment ... I am NOT happy here and spend most of my time crying.. I just worry so much about my future and I see it as being nothing but depression and sadness.. That is, If I don't kill myself first...

I don't know what I'm even doing.. Just crying my eyes out as I write some random ass journal at 5 AM with very little sleep due to severe depression.. ...I doubt anyone will read this.. and if you do.. You deserve a gold star or something... heh...

Welp! I received my first & second Covid vaccinations (Pfizer & Moderna).. Have had no side effects whatsoever aside from a bruised arm where the shot was applied!

There was no question for me getting these vaccinations.. I am NOT an antivaxer and will gladly do my part to make sure nobody else, including myself, get sick and die from Covid-19..

Just curious how you are all doing during these past two years at Covid Con.. This year I cosplayed as a depressed socially distanced mask wearing wolf only to discover that the costume was being worn by almost all other attendees!!! :p

Jokes aside.. I hope you are all well, safe and doing what you can to limit future outbreaks! I've been doing a mixture of VR on my Oculus Quest 2, excercises to lose weight as well as playing on my PS5!

Feel free to leave comments on what you folks are doing to avoid depression, keeping socially distanced and to have fun! Hope everyone is having a great week..

TL/DR: The PS5 is an incredible gaming console but with some flaws such as a lack of proper storage size and an uninspiring dashboard menu..


Hello friends!!

So after spending some time playing with my new PlayStation 5 I have opinions on it, some good, some bad.. mostly good though.. First of all.. The console is a powerhouse.. Capable of 60 fps minimum and 120 fps maximum with full 4k and ray tracing support.. and of course brilliant haptic feedback controllers that allow you to experience everything in the games..

The downside? Space.. The PS5 (both models.. I have the disc based version) have .. ehh... quite small hard drives.. 600 gb internal hard drives were fine back in the era of PS3.. But when most modern games reach over 100 gbs nowadays minimum you aren't looking at much room for storage if you are a game collector like me..

Sony has revealed, however, that they will be adding support in an update for external storage drives of up to 3 tbs for the PS5.. (currently the PS5 supports external storage drives but only for PS4 titles.. PS5 titles must be installed on the main internal drive only) .. What this means is.. The front faceplate of the PS5 can be removed in order to put in a PCIe 4.0 SSD.. The issue here is that one of those drives depending on size can run you upwards of $600.00+..

On top of that .. Adding in that secondary drive WILL cause your quiet as a mouse PS5 to suddenly sound like the jumbo jet engine that the PS4 Pro was as it will have to work doubly overtime to cool both drives.. This is a major oversight on Sony's part given that the new X Box allows for easy plug and play externals at affordable prices.. Nobody wants to spend the cost of another PS5 just to expand on storage space on an already pitifully small PS5 hard drive..

Another thing I'm not much of a fan of is the PS5's dashboard which looks a mess of in your face advertisements as well as (obviously) your game library.. (Which would be what? 3 games and a shitload of old PS4 titles.. as the PS5 currently has VERY few PS5 launch titles?)

I ended up upgrading my PS4 games (for free) to PS5 copies to play Spider-Man Remastered, Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Assassin's Creed: Valhalla, Immortals: Fenyx Rising, Watch_Dogs: Legion and Planet Coaster with all the modern goodies! (Proper 4k support, ray tracing and much higher frame rates) and I greatly enjoy the huge and VERY noticeable differences.. Though with those few titles installed on my console I am now down to just under 100 gbs.. So I fear that the lack of proper storage is a ginormous step back for the PS5 console..

If small storage space doesn't bother you as much as it does me. The PS5 is a worthy console for your addition if you can locate it at a reasonable price.. (I got mine brand new in original box with receipt from a gentleman who bought it for his friend but his friend turned it down so he sold it to me for $830.00 -- disc version) DO NOT buy from scalpers .. It only encourages them and the upward costs of $1000.00+ that they are charging online are complete ripoffs..

If you cannot find the console currently.. Just wait like I did and sooner or later you will find one at a good price! Patience is a virtue! Best of luck to those of you looking to purchase one!! <3

Fun fucking fact.

Don't EVER deal with Canada Post for ANYTHING... They either steal your packages or they simply just don't deliver them.. Been waiting on a package for 5 weeks now because it keeps arriving in London and then gets mailed back to the sender because it has the wrong address on it even though the address is right..

When contacting Canada Post and speaking to an actual person who isn't a complete fucking asshat.. They told me the package is now "missing" and I won't be getting it..

Are you fucking kidding me right now?! .. Apparently there is a whole sub reddit on Canada Post and their thievery and shady activities too..

I'll keep this short and sweet (or try to.. however knowing me I'll ramble and write paragraphs of things etc.. yep..)

How was everybody's Christmas? Is everybody doing alright??.. Feel free to comment below how you spent 2020's Holiday Season.

Myself, I chose to not visit family or friends out of respect to them as this is the year of Covid-19 (Or as Trump would say "Covfefe-19")..

I spent it in my place in London, Ontario.. with my dog and roomie... My family visited on December 10th and dropped off gifts for my roomie and I which we chose to not open til Christmas day as is tradition... Even though I am not one for receiving gifts (I find Christmas to be too catered to consumerism..)

I received a book (Ready Player Two), a gaming chair, a water flosser, clothes, a $300.00 EB Games gift card (Which I plan to use towards a PS5 sometime within the next decade when PS5's are available for purchase again lol), and a ton of chocolates, candies etc.. Oh and treats for Lilly too!! I also bought myself a classic PS2 and a bunch of games to relive my childhood on Christmas Eve lol

Christmas dinner we cooked a homemade Lasagna.. I intend to order in either Swiss Chalet or Manderin dinner for us on New Years (Provided they aren't bankrupt and/or aren't closed).. As a very social wolf/guy/gay/thing/yep I find that this social distancing I've been doing a lot of all year is slowly killing me.. I miss my family, friends, conventions...LIFE..

Let us all hope 2021 brings an end to this fucking madness.. and life returns to at least more normalcy than it is now..

Just a heads up because I've been following this shit closely.. as many of you are as well, I'm sure... It isn't looking good.. Death tolls everywhere are constantly rising (oftentimes daily) .. And more and more I'm seeing people not practicing social distancing.

Look.. If we intend to defeat this shit and move on with our normal lives you need to listen to your government's safety precautions.. That means self isolating and only leaving when you absolutely have to (for groceries for example).. Partying on beaches and hanging out with friends in public are not acceptable examples of practicing isolation..

Treat this serious. Treat this as an extended Staycation.. Use the time to do things you never had time for.. finish that art you've been putting off, finish that game you never beat yet.. finish that TV series you never finished yet..

Above all.. STAY HOME.

STAY ISOLATED.

STAY HYGENIC.

STAY SAFE.

So the brilliant staff (or rather lack thereof) of Facebook have chosen to ban me for 2 months because I recently uploaded some Jason kill screenshots from "Friday The 13th: The Game" to commemorate Friday The 13th (The actual day)..

Apparently they were reported from a typical entitled whiny trashy fur and Facebook felt the screenshots violated their terms of service and gave me a 60 day ban... cool..

Hey all,

Just an update that my dad is now on medication for his cancer til September when he goes in for daily chemotherapy treatments in Toronto... We are a bit more relaxed now knowing that he is getting the help he needs finally..

However .. he isn't out of the woods yet ... so even though he is doing better ... I'm still on edge about the whole thing ... The Last thing I want in the world is to lose him to cancer...

So I didn't want to post this on here.. because A.) I don't want pity.. and B.) I was unsure if it was just... a mistake.. or something.. but during the month of April, I visited my family for my birthday only to discover my dad had cancer... Its been an emotional mess for me.. I always try to hide my feelings behind humor.. Its what I've always done..

But to be honest.. hearing this news has really dampened my spirits as of late.. The worst part is.. He keeps going for meetings with various doctors and medical practitioners in Toronto and there are very little positive results in terms of a cure.. Or anything to help slow it down.. Apparently he was diagnosed too late...

He's never smoked a day in his life.. never been around anybody who smoked.. at least.. not that I am aware of... Realistically this never should have happened... The man is healthier than I am...

I just don't understand what the hell happened... and now I have to wake up each fucking morning worrying about whether I'm going to see him again or not... I'm honestly shocked at how well he and my mom are taking it... Like it's no big thing...

"We all go sooner or later..." ... Yeah.. well.. I don't want my dad to go...

Meh.. Sorry for this journal .. Just ... Yeah...
