-=Life Update & Commission Info=-
Posted 10 years agoIn the past couple months I've had some fairly major changes in my life one of the largest being a move across the country. It took me a while but I managed to find a job in my new location; however, the unfortunate part is that I only get roughly 15 hours a week at the moment. I plan to try and find a better or second job to be able to earn more money and get myself in a more financially sound position but beyond doing that I'd still like another source of income regardless of the stability of it.
Keeping that in mind I've decided to open up commissions. I honestly don't expect much if any interest but even if I only get one from this I'll still have more money than I would have otherwise. Right now I'm not completely sure how I want to go about doing these commissions or the prices on them but I figure the prices will be fairly cheap, any advice on pricing would be appreciated. I'll be posting a few examples of recent work in the next day or two and I'm also working on some other more polished pieces to post as reference as well. Another journal will be posted soon after those pictures are up going more into detail with commission information but anyone that might be interested feel free to drop me a note.
tl;dr:
I moved, not making enough money, decided to open for cheap commissions.

-=Been A While=-
Posted 10 years agoSo I realize it's been ages since I posted any art or put up a new journal and that's partly due to work and mainly due to laziness and lack of motivation. Anyway figured I'd give an update on what's all going on in my world.
First major thing is that I am moving away from what has been my home for a good 3/4ths of my life and am moving to another state which is an extremely large change for me and though I'm excited I'm really nervous about the whole thing too. Second major thing is that, as I doubt anyone has noticed, I haven't drawn anything in over six months due to lack of motivation and laziness. With a few new things happening I decided to try and draw something again and I came to kind of a terrifying realization, I really can't draw anymore. So as it stands I have to completely re-learn how to draw more or less which will be interesting.
That's basically the only two new major things with me, when I first started writing I expected more and realizing that those are the only two major changes in almost a year now is somewhat depressing. Well that pretty much wraps that up but if anyone is interested in a song I've been obsessed with recently check this out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jm2eNxjKC-Y

-=Major Heat=-
Posted 11 years agoThis isn't the kind of thing I'd normally complain about but fuck it feels so hot where I am. I mean it's 9 pm right now and the sun is pretty much gone but it's still like 90 something and this coming Monday and on it's supposed to get to like 103 F which is just ridiculous. Even worse the humidity is pretty much zero so it's a dry heat, the kind of heat where it's hard to breath cause it's so hot and it dries out your throat.
Alright I'm done bitching now but damn it's hot ono'

-=Commission Questions=-
Posted 11 years agoSo as it stands right now I'm starting to really not be able to stand my job anymore. Due to circumstances I can't just quit as the individual I'm living with demands that I keep a job so in order to quit this job I need to find another; however, I don't want to get another job cause I know it'll be the same crap I'm dealing with now but in a different package. I've been trying to think of a way to get out of the crappy situation and so I decided that I'd try to do commissions to get some money that way I'd technically have a job as a freelance artist and I'd be making money.
So my question mostly is what do you think would be a good amount to charge to start out as well as a good way to get myself out there for people to see. Any advice is greatly appreciated in this situation and thank you in advance.

-=Bad Dream=-
Posted 11 years agoNormally I have bad dreams fairly often but I can usually get over them easily or not even get bothered by them at all. I don't know what triggered it but last night I had the most horrendous dream I've had in ages. To make a long story short pretty much everyone I knew was betraying me in one form or another and over time I slowly was driving me into despair. Near the end of my dream I couldn't take it anymore and I guess I doused myself in gasoline and lit myself on fire to kill myself.
I know this journal is kinda random and pointless but I had to talk about this dream somewhere.

Posted 12 years agoSometimes you have moments where you see or experience something that hits you deep near your core. It stings at first and then after a while subsides to a dull pain but it's there always poking at you. Every time something close to that experience or thing you saw comes up you get that stinging pain.
Today I had one of those moments and its still bugging me. It's something that stings quite deep and makes me... I suppose some kind of jealous and melancholy. I haven't drawn for about 2 months now but this feeling stuck me hard enough that I had to draw something out to relieve it, I drew something selfish naturally, something I want very dearly but don't believe I'll ever have again in my life which makes me quite sad. I've tried filling the void but nothing else fits quite right and it's a mix of frustration and feeling dumb for ever letting myself let go of what it was. It was something precious you could never truly hold in your hands, you may hold what it is that causes this but you can never truly hold it in your hands. If I were to ever get back what was lost I would hold it close and guard it with my life but although my hold would be tight it would also be tender and caring.
-sighs- I hate feelings sometimes, they can bring you the greatest of joys or the deepest of sadness. If I had to choose what my single greatest regret is it would have to be what I lost since it's so close but yet so far away from me just always a bit out of reach. I can touch it but never truly hold it, I can see it but never truly feel it.

Posted 12 years agoJust decided to toss a list together of people I know and songs that I associate them with to some degree. For anyone in this list please don't read into the lyrics of the songs I choose too much. I might choose specific sections of the songs that I think represent the person.

Here (In Your Arms)

1925

Stuck In The Middle

I often find myself wondering why these people watched me and whether their reasons were shallow, had deep meanings, or were something else entirely.
So I ask my watchers a simple question: Why did you watch me on here?
Uh. . . yeah. . .
Posted 13 years agoI figure not really anyone will read this so I'll be brief. I'm feeling. . . something and I need a break so I'm liable to barely be around for the foreseeable future. If you have need to get in contact with me I have my phone or you can leave a note on here, I'll check them every so often.
-=Icon Commissions=-
Posted 13 years agoNot sure how well this will go over but I'm gonna set up commissions for icons. I don't currently have any examples uploaded but I should have one up on the day this journal is posted.
Anyway I'll be taking icon commissions for headshot style icons. At the very least I'll accept $2 since I think that's fairly reasonable but I'm willing to adjust price depending upon how much you think it's worth.
I will have payment information posted later on but if you're interested than leave a comment on the journal and when it's all updated with examples and payment info you will be notified.

Style and Expression Improvement -!!FREE DRAWINGS!!-
Posted 13 years ago-IMPORTANT-
This journal has been edited from it's original form so if you read the original please re-read and review the changes made, thanks.
I figure most of you saw the "free drawings" and that's why you're reading this so I'll just get straight to the point. So basically I have free time (also i need to stop playing monster hunter tri so much) so I've decided to try improving my style and expressions.
I'm going to do this by offering you, my watchers/potential watchers, some free artwork. The basic premise is that you give me a reference pic or pics, a game or game character, and a song from the selected game if you want. I will draw the character from the reference pic in the style of the game universe or as the chosen game character. This is how it's going to work, provide the information in the numbered list below in the form of a comment and I'll work on the drawing.
1. Original character reference pic(s) (i.e. sona or character you created)
2. Game or game character
3. A song if you decided to pick one from the selected game
4. Give a direction or idea that you have for the drawing
So yeah drop some stuff on me and save me from the addicting nature of Monster Hunter Tri. I look forward to seeing what you guys can all come up with. Just put all the info down in a comment and if I have any further questions or clarifications I'll note you about them.

Test Journal
Posted 13 years agoHaircut?
Posted 14 years agoOkay I want to get my hair cut because it's past my shoulders and is getting rather annoying to take care of but my problem is I don't know how to get it cut. I'm terrible when it comes to making some choices and this is one of them so I wondered how you, my watchers, thought I should get my hair cut. I'm open to any suggestion except for shaving my head. Thanks in advance for the input.

Posted 14 years agoYeah that's right I'm taking a couple of requests because I want to draw other characters besides Rav, I like to do free art for people, and I need to get some stuff to upload. Just give me a link to the character you want draw and either give me a description of what you want or just tell me to do whatever I want.

Interesting dream I had
Posted 14 years agoOkay well this dream last night started out a bit interesting.
A guy, a girl, and I were apparently in some ruined factory searching for some type of demon/evil creature that was eating souls. We were supposed to meet up with an old women who had a power that would help us take down the creature. There was some fighting with the creature after that but the old women was too scared to use her powers. To my shame after I woke up, in the dream I told her to give me her soul so I could use her power to beat the creature. In her fear (I would guess) she agreed to it and gave me her soul. With her soul's power we were able to take down the creature; however, when we came back to the old women she was coughing up blood and in obvious pain. At this point in the dream I felt horrible because I basically had killed this old women. Through her crying and pain she managed to ask me to put her out of her misery. I was on the brink of tears and felt horrible but I didn't want her to suffer so I put the scythe I had on her side and swiftly pulled it through her. As her torso slid off her lower body and blood began to pour out of her I could see her mouth the words, "Thank you" before her torso fell to the ground lifeless. After that I almost puked but managed to keep it back. At this point everything went white and the next thing I saw was a large checkerboard-like area in front of me that spanned far off into the distance. Naturally I tried to move but realized that I was sewn to a wall of rather raw looking flesh. To my left was the guy and girl that were with me before except there were different looking. The guy had some red half orb sewn over his left eye and the girl had a bunch of stitching all over her body. I felt sick again and knew that something bad was happening that I couldn't hope to stop. After a little while a black silhouette of a man materialized in front of us. He said, "Each person has an animal that represents their soul and in a way this works quite well with another aspect of the soul: direction. When a soul comes into existence it is a blank slate and from that point it can go in two different directions: purity or corruption or in other words the animal of the soul can become tame or feral." At this point he turned and pointed at the three of us and said, "Your souls are corrupt and you are feral. It has been a long time coming but stealing a pure human soul was the last straw. Look before you on the floor and you shall see your souls in the physical form of a pendant." We all looked down and saw the pendants; however, I could not see what was on their pendants I could only see what is on my own. My pendant was made of what looked like silver and had a wolf engraved into it. The black silhouette explained to us that our pendants would be destroyed and our souls extinguished so our corruption could not be spread. I shut my eyes and all I wanted at that moment was to get away from there either because I was afraid of facing my punishment or because I thought I didn't deserve it. When I opened my eyes I found myself outside of a shack near a beach in what looked like a port town. I felt something in my hand so I brought my hand up and opened it; in the palm of my hand I saw what I least expected to see: my pendant. I noticed then that my hand was covered in grey fur and when I looked the rest of myself over I realized that through some process I was now an grey anthro wolf with a brown stripe running from my nose, over the top of my head, and down my back to the tip of my tail. At first I was a bit freaked out by it and felt rather conspicuous in public but after thinking about what the black silhouette had said and looking around to see other animal anthros I felt better. I kept the pendant in my hand as I started to head towards what appeared to be the middle of town. As I headed further into town another wolf anthro ran up to my side from behind me. He said hi and introduced himself as Chet; while I was looking at him I noticed he had the same fur pattern but flip-flopped with brown being the main color and grey being the color of his stripe. I introduced myself to him as Conrad rather than as Rav because at the moment I was feeling rather paranoid and unsure about everything. Chet then asked me if I was new in town as well and headed to the Wolves Den which was apparently the district in the port town where all the wolves lived. I decided that saying yes was better than wandering around aimlessly through town. So we both headed off into town to find the Wolves Den but after about two hours and lots of directions we still hadn't found it. Through our wandering though we ended up in a very open air shack in the shark district of town. Chet and I started to discuss which direction to go next when we heard someone call to us. As I turned in the direction the call came from I nearly yelled because standing outside the shack was three figures: a wolf, a guy, and a girl. The wolf explained that the two people were looking for a friend named Rav and asked us if we had met anyone like that. I promptly said no and Chet agreed but both the guy and girl glared at me as if they knew; however, the wolf thanked us and the three left in the opposite direction. I let out a sigh of relief and explained to Chet everything that had happened to me which he surprising believed. As Chet and I stood talking the guy jumped through window into the shack saying, "You escaped once but I'm bringing you back now." I turned to Chet and told him that I'd meet him in Wolves Den before I ran out the door of the shack and down the street with the guy giving chase. The guy and I ran around town for about an hour until we both stopped to catch our breaths. I asked him why he is trying to bring me back rather than escape. He explains that if he brings me back that he won't have his soul extinguished and he'll be able to live on like nothing happened. I ask him if he really wants to go back to doing what he did and then remind him of the old lady. This seems to hit him in a soft spot as he says he never wants to see something like that ever again. After he says that he turns and starts walking off; I notice on the ground where he was a moment before there was something on the ground. I walk over and pick it up noticing that it's a small gold pendant. I tell the guy he dropped something and I toss the pendant to him which he catches and looks at. He laughs a bit then remarks on the fact that it's his pendant and that he guesses that means he is free. He leaves and I start to look for the Wolves Den which amazing I find is not but a few yards from where I had stopped to catch my breath. As I go about exploring Wolves Den I run into Chet again who is glad that I managed to make it back without a scratch. In my absence Chet managed to find somewhere for the both of us to live as roommates.
Sadly after that was when I woke up and the dream ended but it was still a pretty awesome dream.
1. We've known each other for a while and honestly you're probably one of my best friends, and I hope we get to meet one day.
2. I think you're really cool but damn you can be hard to start a conversation with sometimes.
3. You seem like a really cool person in the time I talked with you but we never talk anymore. Your feathered self needs to drop a note or something.
4. I've known you practically since I moved from Cali and you're a great musician so keep at it.
5. You always struck me as quiet but you have a good personality and I'm glad we're friends.
6. You were an okay individual but you pushed too much.
(I'm tired so I'll update this later)
