New set and Patreons stupid TOS
Posted 7 years agoYes this is going to be a paid for Set
Patreon has a specific part of their TOS that discourage even Sharing/linking of your own work that goes against their TOS and has demonstrate how far they would go against
Sargon leading to the Patreon Purge/Exodus
Several big artist have had their patreon pages purged in the seemingly random waves
I was intending to jump ship to SubsribeStar, an alternative
But it was shut down by Paypal so I can't even use them to host my work
So what i'm going to have to do is just Open a Discord Patreon Server and have the set available there when its ready
so anyone that gives to the 10$ tier will have access to the set with Discord
So If anyone from this camp is interested, Id highly advise you to download and install Discord if you haven't already
and pledge into my patreon at your confidence after the set is released if you specifically only want that one set

So yea, apparently I can't use Daz or not cite stuff i didn't 'make' when posting my art work
I will not be citing every piece of content i use to make my images when they are available in the marketplace to be used in this manner.
I have never claimed to have made any 3d assets i have used in the past unless otherwise stated
and by using Daz Studio, it is implied that i have not.
Just as someone Doesn't make the materials, such as but not limited to pencils, pens, paints, wood, clothing , other people or animals, they are using to make a piece of artwork.
Premade 3d assets and models made to me sold on a marketplace, whose end user license claims they do not own the images rendered using said products, should not be given preferential treatment to in punishing users and artist who operate inside or with said medium
That being said,
TL;DR
Come at me bro.
I might end up eating a ban out of this
So if you guys want to see more of my stuff
I have my dA page, and my Tumblr
http://rivaliant.deviantart.com/ (( account needed to view Mature rated content ))
http://rivaliant.tumblr.com/tagged/Rivaliant (( tag of my work spficialy ))
As well as my Patreon Campaign
https://www.patreon.com/Rivaliant?ty=h
and even a Pixiv
http://www.pixiv.net/member.php?id=9183525
so come the 27th and if I have stopped updating or the page goes away, that's what happened
and who ever it was that keeps crying that I make my artwork on Daz Studio or use premade models or whatever crybaby shit it is

Posted 10 years agoTL;DR version.

indepth version.
Its not a secret I deliver pizza as job. and I’m having issues with my car’s Reverse. its been almost 2 weeks I have been doing my job Driving around town with a nearly inoperable reverse. I have no idea the damage I’m causing to my transmission by forcing it.
and I’m literally a few hundred dollars away from paying the car off in Full too.
I felt like I have promoted my tip jar and my Patreon more then enough for people who Wanted to donate to those to Do so.
but this is a call out for ideas on What you guys would like to see me Do to raise money to assist me with that up and coming repair bill.
its still going to be a few days before my appointment with the shop to find out what’s even wrong with it. I was going to wait but I figure now is a good as time as any to ask for suggestions.
Me doing porn of my characters are off limits.
I don’t have that luxury.
The only idea I have is to put my up and coming Dominos Delivery Girl Render setup for sale on dA or donate to download

Streaming Games on HitBox?
Posted 10 years ago I don't really feel like putting on more load on my rendering right now while I try to work out of a bit of an art block
or lack of artistic mood
I figure some games would get my mind off my day to day issues and kinda slip back into it
So I decided to stream it on HitBox
I have been playing Chrono Trigger and streaming it, but thanks to my work hours
I am streaming in the stupid hours in the night/morning
i'm not entirely entertaining
but I figure it would be nice to do something more engaging with my fans
playing Ib, and .flow didn't really pan out
and there are a LOT of games I never got a chance to play that I should and are able to thanks to emulation
So if you guys are interested in watching me play games
Let me know and What games
Games I had in mind that I have played are the
Genesis Sonic games
some more RPG's like Breath of Fire or Final Fantasy
But only if I have an intrest from my fans to chill out and engage
Other wise I should use that time to do more Daz Stuff
Let me know what you think

Not quite thrilled
Posted 11 years agoSo I have a list of issues I just Can't work around.
So for the time being, I'm going to set aside Reality 4
The two Biggest reasons I wanted Reality 4 was to Use normal Maps on top of Bump maps
While this isn't a major issue, it is more for quality of the Character models as matching Bump Settings.
merging the Bump maps to Normals leaves that lack of customization to raise or lower the skin bump value with
Interfering with the additions of the normal maps (tattoos and veins and such)
And SubSurface Scattering
which Doesn't work the way I need it too.
from what I can tell, for anything that is White in texture or color, just ends up with a Yellow Tint
For normal Skin color it doesn't to seem that bad, but it also seems to Rob alot of complexity in how I had used the textures though Reality 2.5
and how the texture editor now works, I haven't been able to change multiple surfaces color settings with how it works now
and copy and paste doesn't work unless you use Paste With Textures
Which pretty much Ruins that functionality altogether.
While the things I had to work around such as the "infinitesample', graph removal, and other manual edits
had been fixed that were already ease to manage
Reality 4 has adds nothing to my workflow.
So far I don't quite understand saving material settings for Reuse.
I'm worried that "automatic" presets will Automatically apply settings for one character On another that Does Not use the same material sets despite using the same skin textures.
I had liked saving settings based on character or situation such as Oily skin settings.
I May be looking at that wrong
But I don't want Automatic Anything, I want to be able to Use a preset when I ask for it.
I spent 6 hours trying to emulate my Reality 2.5 settings of a scene of Just Two characters posing nude
that I put together before I installed Reality 4 and have not achieved it
That alone is unacceptable.
Forget Improving on it at this point.
I'm glad to hear quite a few people are liking Reality 4, and I'm sure getting past a few hurdles I could too,
Just right now.
its been 6 hours of total frustration from the start

Tip Jar?
Posted 11 years agoI made an entry about opening patreon and I still don't like the idea behind it
so I was thinking then of just opening a Tip Jar for people to donate whatever they wants to my Paypal.
Still not comfortable with taking commissions because I feel like i don't put my all into because
Its simply not something i want to do.
I Feel like its a waste of peoples money and time.
but a tip jar would be that, just alil tip for you guys enjoying my work
No strings attached and totally voluntary
Like patreon, if I get a good tip jar going
i'll post the renders that are behind the pay for download for everyone for free
what do you guys think then?

Ib - Review
Posted 11 years agoSo I have been wanting to get this review down for Halloween and I missed getting it out on time.
But now that the Fall/Winter season is upon us, for those of ya'll that have not had a chance to play these
Gems should take the time to give them a chance to impress you as much as they had me.
And here will provide my take on a Review on games that I recommend and hold close to my heart as an example of
of pure creative bliss starting with
"Ib"
English Version download
PLOT
Taking the role of a young girl named 'Ib' (as in the japanese pronunciation of the name Eve) that is seemingly bored and detached with the world around her
as her rather controlling Parents bring her to an Art Exhibit of the World Famous multi-talented artist known simply as Guertena.
Things suddenly go silent and dark when Ib finds herself alone in the Exhibit and trapped inside as The Gallery starts to change and beckons her deeper.
With nowhere to go, She dives feet first into the depths of the seemingly haunted gallery trying to find a way out.
Along the way Ib will run into others trapped by the gallery and must learn to trust and work together or face the possibility of never seeing the light of day again.
Game Play
Pretty straight forward as a puzzle based adventure game as you explore various rooms.
Most of the puzzles are isolated to each floor and You must solve each puzzle to move forward.
Some puzzles will have you earning a key or other means to open doors or obstacles in your path.
It is highly recommended to interact with everything, but be cautious, as not everything is friendly.
Ib has only a few hits to take before the game is over. However there are means to heal her that become more scarce as the game moves forward.
The Use of a Manual Save system to keep progress may feel antiquated but it is effective, So Save Often.
Endings
While many games of the genre make a troupe of having multiple endings, Ib stands above the crowd by providing Multiple Endings based on a spectrum of
Character Success rather than a scale of completion that warrants multiple playthroughs even if the means of achieving each ending is hidden in its code.
A total of 7 endings varying from Good of some to Bad for all endings with a few in between and a few variations of 1 ending in particular
The Good
The feels.
Seriously though, while it lends itself to being a horror game, there are a lot more emotion pouring from this came then just cheap scares.
While they're a few jump scares and tense moments, the games main goal wasn't meant to just scare you but to make you feel uneasy, untrusting, relief and a sense of
accomplishment or Even Loss and Sadness.( and maybe even frustration )
It would also be good to note here that completing the game once and playing through a second time will unlock a bonus segment of the game. Completing this segment will also unlock
a full gallery of all the art pieces throughout the game you have looked at with those that could read the title plaques.
This is incredibly thoughtful of the developer as the art pieces themselves are spread across the game and are a delight to see in a tight controlled space for our viewing pleasure.
The Bad
Controls seem to be a natural issue with RPGmaker games and Ib doesn't escape from them.
the Biggest issue is the use of the arrow keys rather than the WASD layout I'm sure many PC gamer are accustomed too, but that leaves a bit of cramping as the Enter button is the natural
use button to use to interact with the world. with it being so close to the Shift button that is used to Prompt return to mainscreen can lead to frustrations as it seems to get in the way a Lot
especially in moments of tension.
There are alternative buttons to use to get around, but just doesn't feel natural.
Even the use of a controller feels stiff and unresponsive.
Again this seems to be a fault with RPGMaker rather then the game its self as this is prevalent on All RPGmaker games.
The game itself is very linear and the replay value is hampered by the static puzzles.
Even with the Bonus Segment that opens up with a second play through, Replayability comes as after though using the multiple endings to justify it.
This is mostly for those that feel like it Can be a throw away game once you achieve the best ending and doesn't give you an incentive to getting all the endings Unless
you have played it a second time though and have completed the Bonus segment.
There is a notorious segment in the game that plays a video from a file from the games system folder that Will Not Play In Fullscreen, that will crashes the game indefinitely for most.
This Can take you out of the experience, since by the point that this comes up, you should be neck deep into the setting of the game.
So this comes as a warning, at a Segment in the Red Room with a set of book shelves after the use of a Red Key, pull it off of Fullscreen
You should have a problem with this game after that.
The Great
The level of nostalgia Ib invokes without Being a Game from the golden era of 16-bit games is fascinating. I found myself trying to fill in the blanks of the 16-bit style
presentation with imagery of how key scenes would look as if it was a Movie, Anime, or modern AAA game.
While many may dismiss that as unnecessary , its the imagination of the player painting their own way of directing the scene and trying to put themselves into is no different
than trying to depict how a scene plays out in ones mind from reading written works.
Thats how many 90's games have had such a lasting impression over Most of the AAA games today.
Ib, purposely or not, capitalizes on this with it ability to continue to creep you out even with a simple pixel art style.
Which leans to the next greatest contribution is the art pieces themselves.
Many unique and truly thoughtful works of art ranging from mostly Post-modern to abstract to contemporary.
It is Hard to imagine that "Ib" is credit to one developer, who could make so many interesting works inside this game that could Truly stand in galleries the world over.
But that is a personal opinion of mine,
Who says Games can't be art. Hasn't' played this game. Pretentious or not
The Ugly
Despite the praise of the simple 16-bit style
if it has to suffer anywhere, that can turn people away from the game would be the Sprites and Animation of the characters themselves.
Kudos to the Developer for the full custom sprites although they fit within the rest of the games presentation,
they just feel lacking in polish and depth. A few more frames of animation could had made the movements less stiff or the depth to make them less static and blocky.
while an easily overlooked aspect. I have seen it turn away players that I feel would had other wised loved the game.
The Verdict
A Work of Art if I had ever the pleasure to play one.
While it has a few small issues that harm the replayability and its presentation
If you have played such games as any of the classic SNES RPG's
you should feel right at home.
have a good scare, a good laugh and have a walk through an other artist gallery.

Patreon Bandwagon?
Posted 11 years agoSo i have been agonizing over this the past few months related to Patreon.
I am totally on board with the idea behind Patreon.
Allowing those who normally purchase artwork, or wish that could, though commissions and such a chance to pitch in a small amount of money to their favorite artists.
as well as seen a few artist pull there works out form behind a site Paywall and have them now accessible to either supporters though Patreon or Literally free for everyone.
on the other end of it, I can perceive some issues that might come from it. And with an Alarming number of people promoting their own Patreon accounts, I can't help but feel it becoming a copout option of some kind.
Maybe its just the Bandwagon effect on me observing the trend.
it Doesn't look good to regularly drive the idea of "Give Me Money" down peoples throats.
But considering the Commenting, User to User interaction, and Communication of dA and other art sites in general,
It also seems necessary as communications between People for art related needs and wants are bordering on Non existent to simply horrific.
Point of this Entry is that I been wanting to Start a Patreon for my self to garner support for my artistic endeavor which I have slowly turned into my Main Stay Hobby.
As much as I would like to get out of my 9-5 job, The level i'm at isn't going to replace that money I make from said job any time soon
And without a formal education on ANY of the programs I am using. I merely skating across the surface of all of them.
I Feel any free time I can have NOT working for someone else and actually spending time learning about my chosen "Craft as Hobby" I can become a better artists.
but in light of my Last tutorial videos nearly Abysmal response and other venues of gauging the non existence of special interest projects...
I am kinda questioning anything I could produce to Help the Internet Art Community would even be worth the effort.
Considering you already have Big Name Internet Artists already manning the ship as far as promoting a lot of help to up and comers to the craft.
I feel out of place asking for Money to keep doing what i'm doing already. But I also see an gleam of interest for my work that leaves me wondering what am I really worth?
Is this intrested even on the very thing I want to be known for, or is it just passer bys looking for a quick simple rush of looking at something pretty for 2 seconds before running off to go drool over to the Rest of the Internet Posing on the Wall of Perversion.
I honestly Don't even Know what i'm Doing.
With the Few ideas i have boiling in my mind with no way to get them down.
Would a Patreon even Be Worth it.
Would I even garner the support I want to be free of a Job that I, tho enjoy, but can't' stand the people I work with.
Would said support even appreciate the things I try to do To Help other artists?
I'm going to be brutally honest.
I make 20+k a year Running Pizzas as a full time job
not enough to start a life for my Self but more then enough to pay my bills and eat whatever the hell I want within reason.
I think what it is, its that i'm tired of feeling Disappointed with myself.
And asking for More help than I already had would just be another thing I feel guilt about.
While the obvious answer would be to take commissions.
I don't feel like it is the answer. I feel like my work isn't anything special.
Anyone can download Daz Studio and LuxRender and buy the things they need to Do exactly what I do.
Too long Didn't read version of all this is
Would making a Patreon for my self even be worth it?
What would I even Do with the support?
I would also like to add,
They're artists that have Patreons that I would love to support.
so any support to me would enable me to support them as well. Just though I'd mention that
what do you guys think. I know I kinda just pthhhh all over the place with this
But thats how I honestly feel with it.

The Witch's House - Review
Posted 11 years agoEnglish Version download
>> http://vgperson.com/games/witchhouse.htm <<
I just got done playing this RPGMaker Puzzle based Horror Adventure Game by Fummy >> http://majonoie.karou.jp/index.html <<
O m O Holy FUCK was this game scary, amazing, and too awesome to pass up
I Literally had to take a break from it half way though because how uneasy it was making me, but I persisted and was more then entertained by it.
So lets break it down.
PLOT
You play as a young girl (Because of course) name Viola as she has wondered to a House deep into a forest.
Trapped now by the house, She must find a way though the house to find a way to escape while avoiding the dangers of the ever changing house intent on killing her.
Simple enough.
Game Play
Much like any adventure game you will come across items you need to pick up and bring along with you to solve puzzles along your way.
Unlike some games, they won't be used automatically and must go into the item menu to activate/solve puzzle.
There are alot of things that can be looked at so feel free to touch all the things, as some will give you hints you need to solve some puzzles.
Endings
Sometimes the best, but not all, games have more then one Ending, seems to be a standard with Horror games of this manner.
The Witch's House is no exception.
There are two major 'Endings';
The Normal Ending and the "True" Ending
and One Secret Ending that doesn't require a second play-though, but is recommended
The Good
Graphically wise, its Excellent in terms of the 16bit RPG styling.
Bright colors where it needs to be
and dark loomy effects and ugly washed out Dank where it needs to be
added with a layer of freshness and thick with Atmosphere.
a good deal of this is the use of the "lantern effect" as I call it
Only a bubble of visibly around your character as you move around the House throughout Most of the game.
You Feel that you are in a Dark unwelcoming place you Shouldn't be, dreading anything that comes with in your view as it could be a new threat or the next lil boo.
I never had a game made me feel so nerve-wrecked about moving into a new room as often as this, the Music, sounds, and Jump scares got to me.
If you are looking for a game that will genuinely startle you, then this is for you.
The Bad
The only thing that I can say is that the Kills, I mean that when You as the player Dies, it seems so Impersonal at times.
Too quickly does a moment your deaths (trust me, there will be many) feel so short lived before being slapped with the GameOver screen.
Which starts almost immediately as it enter the house as it quickly turns into a "Trail and Error" play with player death with Death traps,
Some you Don't see coming and A few Death traps you can see coming and is even worth a few laughs and a jump if you remember to save.
Which is can be seen as both a good or bad thing, but
Do know that you will find some.
But the Unknown, Didn't see it come, deaths can leave a bit of frustration if you didn't remember to save.
Some of these are the Surprise Chases scenes. But they are short and some take some planning and trial and error which take Some of the bite from them after the first time.
and there where Two puzzles that I actually needed to look up the answers too, which took me out of the experience quite a bit.
The Great
The Final Chase scene, was Perfectly executed.
the Tension and the build up to it, and the Chase it self was a work of art.
and The True ending...
I sat with my mouth hanging open for a few minutes.
Unexpected, and truly shocking.
The Ugly
surprisingly, there was nothing so abhorred about The Witch's House that would several impact the game as a whole.
other then maybe its play time for some at only 2 - 3 hours, or slightly over an hour of actual gameplay, which is standard of RPGmaker games
and doesn't have much in the way of Replay Value Other then the Secret Ending, which only adds clarity dialogue Before the ending.
The Verdict
Get this game, Download it and play it
Be sure to get the true ending, and it Will go down as one of your greats
18/20 ( A Must Play )
