Long story short is they took in a cat in December that they found on their doorstep, got him all fixed up and neutered and up to date on shots, LOVED the crap out of him, and then found out that he had an incurable disease a few months later after spending loads of money trying to make him better. They wound up having to euthanize him, and the fact that they now owe 1000+ on their credit card is pretty much just adding insult to injury at this point and it would mean so so so much to me if you guys helped them out.

Posted 10 years agoWell, of course since I was being super productive and actually getting everything done and feeling well finally, I had to be hit with another flare up of who-knows-what. TMI alert: pretty much peeing from my butt, I can't keep fluid in my, I"m super dehydrated and dizzy and weak and prolly anemic again from not absorbing anything.
They're doing some blood tests and seeing if it's my thyroid levels again, and I have a script waiting for me at the pharmacy to hopefully help rebuild some gut flora.
I'm so sorry. I am so so so sorry. I just want to be able to build momentum like I was and remain productive and do all of the things I need to get done.

Posted 11 years agoI'm hoping to get a relatively simple commission to finish up this week to get me back into the swing of doing commissions based on character reference. I'm only asking $35 (shipped within the US) for it total, so only characters with a few colors tops and simple markings.
It can/will be finished by this week and shipped out by Monday 2/9, so the completion time on it is fast. I just really need some sort of warmup that doesn't have a lot of pressure attached to it design wise but will make someone happy haha. ;D

Life updates.
Posted 11 years agoI'm so so so so sorry for not being around very much lately. I'm horrifically, terribly behind in everything and full of self-loathing for it. I try to get a little bit of work done every day, but I'm not working at all at a reasonable pace and I need to step it up. I have several things that need to be mailed to several people, and of course the handful of people on my list still awaiting their projects to be done. I've started literally all of them and will update the progress journal soon with more up to date information, and hopefully I will actually get them finished very shortly.
I'm also doing my best to catch up on Etsy orders, so if you are awaiting something from there don't despair. I am also very very sorry for that.
More recently I've been being treated for anemia again. My levels dropped so badly I was barely able to walk around without feeling dizzy and like I might faint. Last week I wound up having to get an iron IV, and I'm feeling much much better, but I am supposed to go back in in a couple of weeks for another one and not looking forward to that. I hate IVs.
Uhmm. I had some crap on recent bloodwork show an issue that might relate to bone density, so I think when I go back in for my next visit I'm going to have to have a bone density scan, which would actually explain a lot of pain I've been feeling lately. A lot of people with thyroid issues (my issue being "no longer having one") wind up with bone density problems and I need to have my calcium levels checked ASAP.
Also, my birthday was on the 30th of September and I am now 24. Things aren't entirely bad/stressful, I've just been generally not well mentally/physically and it's very hard for me to keep up with day-to-day life activities despite still really really really needing to continue having an income to supplement my partner's for general survival purposes, so you know. :c
I am so so so so sorry about what an unreliable asshole I am, and I'm hoping once I catch up with everything and my energy levels are back where they should be after some treatment stuff again, I will start over and do things more properly.

Do you like hamsters?
Posted 11 years agoHello~ I've been busier than normal lately looking after foster hamsters. Other than my "personal" (lol) hamster (a Russian dwarf named Chekov) I have two elderly hamsters -- a Syrian named Gumball and a Roborovski named Lyudmila that were surrendered to me (which I will be keeping and caring for due to old age & special needs), and a young Roborovski named Sergei (only 3 months old, he had been improperly housed with Lyudmila causing injuries on both sides) that I'm hoping to rehome soon. On top of those, I have been speaking with three people lately that would like to leave their hamsters with me (three Syrians that are the result of an accidental litter, two Russian dwarfs that are the result of an accidental litter, and a Syrian that is unwanted by its previous owner), and I am trying to coordinate materials so that I am able to take them ASAP (in at least one of the cases it's urgent, because the person w/ the Syrians is getting impatient and does not care very much and wouldn't mind giving them to someone for snake food rather than rehome them properly, so I would like to get them here quickly).
Finding homes for the hamsters that are ready to be rehomed (such as Sergei) makes it possible for me to take more out of bad situations more quickly -- especially because our local shelters either do not take in small animals, or, if they do, are being stretched beyond their means with "larger" small animals like rabbits and guinea pigs, so if you're in the Pittsburgh area and looking to adopt a hamster, please consider contacting me! Like I said, right now I just have little Sergei that's looking to be rehomed, but will have the others soon that will be looking for a permanent home once I've looked them over and made sure they're healthy and "friendly"* enough to find a new home.

Couple day hiatus.
Posted 11 years agoI'm dealing with some mental health stuff right now (for those that aren't aware, I have generalized anxiety and OCD). I am experiencing a flare up of these things this past weekend and do not feel any better today (I have slept about 4 hours in the past 36 hrs or so). I'm hoping that a day of taking it easy and hopefully getting some rest will help (it almost always does).
I anticipate being able to focus and work efficiently within the next couple of days, if this follows a normal pattern for me. I just didn't want to drop off the face of the earth without a notice here.
Basically everything is fine, I just need some rest and I'll be back to normal. I have things to post when I get back. c:
