Possibility of Story Commissions?
Posted 12 years agoSome recent events have made me consider taking up story commissions. While I haven't done much story-writing these past months, I still do a lot of roleplaying - and that involves a lot of writing! I don't know just how much interest there is in story commissions, especially from the limited number of people who watch me!
If you do have an interest in story commishes, what sort of prices would you be willing to pay for what I do? I know I don't have a lot of good examples in my gallery, but still!
One of the things that has kept me from asking about this before is that I really have to like whatever it is I'm writing about, and I'd feel bad turning people down because of my lack of interest in their ideas. I don't want them to feel like their ideas are invalid - I just don't want to write about them!
Anyways, comment, PM or contact me in any other way you know if you have any feedback, good or bad!

Highlights from Furry Fiesta
Posted 12 years agoWhew, just got back in from the last night of Furry Fiesta. Got a little of the post-con depression, but otherwise it was a blast! I feel like this was a life-changing experience - for me as a person, and as a furry. I view the fandom a bit differently, and I have also had to reevaluate my life and lifestyle. I've even started looking semi-seriously into getting a fursuit or at least a tail and accessories.
Anyways, here are a few highlights, in no particular order!
- Saw fursuits up close for the very first time!
- Hugged my first fursuiter. So fluffy~ <3
- Met Sasuke!
- Almost killed Sasuke!
- Learned a lot of neat writing tips at the panels I went to.
- First ever winning streak in Smash Bros against other people. As Ness, even!
- First time seeing furry porn printed and sold!
- Met some of boyfriend's buddies from California. Hi Midekai! :3
I loved every minute of my first furry convention - and this definitely won't be the last!
AnthroCon or bust!

Furry Fiesta? o.o
Posted 13 years agoSo, my birthday was... last week :3 It was good, had a lot of fun~ But that's not why I'm journaling!
I'm going to be attending my first con ever - Furry Fiesta! Being a Texas resident (and living really close to the con's location) I will get to experience furry stuff on a more local level, which I haven't really been able to do.
So, if you know me, and you are going to be at FF, give me a shout-out! :3 Or just give me a shout-out even if you aren't going. Because you love me.

Oh yeah, so boyfriend is an artist o.o
Posted 13 years agoSo, you know those things that you forget because you are around them all the time? Like how you always drive by that one restaurant, but never think to eat there until someone says "Is that place any good?" That's sort of how it is with me and my boyfriend's artistic abilities.
I come home from work and he yelps excitedly "I drew arts!" And points from the couch to the table where a picture lies. A picture of Plank. Yes, that Plank.
So yeah, simultaneously reminded of his arting skills, and his propensity to get really high. :3

Birthday Notice/News
Posted 14 years agoWhat am I?! (An introspective journa)
Posted 14 years agoThis has been bugging me for years. I just feel like writing a journal about this and other issues; maybe I'll come to a conclusion, maybe I'll get some positive feedback. Or maybe I'll write a bunch of nonsense and be even more confused.
I've always felt just a little bit different. Maybe this is how everyone feels, since it's technically true. I've never really fit into the molds that I was supposed to. I'ma 90's kid who never watched Power Rangers, a gamer who got his first gaming console, a PS1, when the PS2 was already out. I'm a music lover who only started to listen to genres other than Christian music when in college. I'm a guy who doesn't like sports, doesn't have an interest in booze, doesn't want to be competitive, likes being emotional and wants to be affectionate. For those keeping score, I have no man card, I have no man points, and from the perspective of straight people, I am a pansy who doesn't deserve to own a penis. I feel so disconnected from pop culture, indie culture, gaming culture, really any culture. Hell, I'm not even a man by some people's standards. Where do I belong? What clique of friends do I go to?
Even in the furry community, I'm a misfit. My fursona is a nonanthro, which freaks a lot of people out. I like vore, but I like it because of the emotional connection of having someone become part of me. I'm deathly afraid of meeting furries in real life. I'm not an artist, so there goes any chance of being popular. Worse, I'm an author (when I feel like it). We all know how much attention stories get on FA.
I want to take a moment to focus on the aforementioned "man points." I have fought for them at social gatherings, trying to hide who I was because I didn't want to be shamed by my friends. My friends. These aren't the sorts of "friends" you have that are just people you hang out with. These are my best friends, the people I go to with problems and have the closest connection to. My best friends are the ones I am clambering to please, to prove that I'm a man, that I can justify the fact that I was born with XY chromosomes. Maybe all guys feel like this. But I feel like I've had to struggle more than the friends who "win" man points by just doing what they like.
(as an aside, do women have anything similar to the "man points" and other gender-bashing?)
Anyway, this has made me struggle seriously with my gender identity. I've never been physically attracted to men; but according to all the straight people I'm not up to the standards apparently required to like women. Recently, I had read an article about asexuality on FA. A lot of the "symptoms," for lack of a better word, that the author had experienced, I could identify with. I've never been physically attracted to a woman, but when I've had a crush, it's always been because I loved their personality or thought of them as an emotionally compatible person. Many asexuals are very much attracted to the romance and emotion of the relationship, and have no interest in physical acts of love. That certainly describes me. I don't know if I am asexual, and it may be a long time before I know for sure. But it's nice to know that there's at least some sort of explanation why I might be this way.
I feel that there is a purpose or reason that things happen. Not all of the reasons are good, but my personality and past have been shaped by experiences and circumstances that I would like to believe makes me more capable of accomplishing a greater purpose. Maybe the reason I don't fit into any molds is because I'm not supposed to. Maybe I never watched cartoons as a kid because then my ideas for scripts and stories wouldn't be influenced by what I watched as a kid. Maybe I never got a chance to own older consoles so that I could form opinions about games without nostalgic bias. Maybe the reason I listened to only one genre for 18 years is so I would find a greater enjoyment in the diversity of music.
Maybe the reason I'm unable to fit into any mold is because I'm supposed to let people know that being different is okay. Being weird and unable to fit into a specific niche is not a bad thing. Or, maybe everyone feels exactly like I do. Maybe all the people who "fit" into a specific category are really just clambering to be cool. They're just pretending, because we're all judgmental hypocrites who want people to fit the expectations that we can't even fulfill.
Or maybe I'm just crazy :P That happens too. I'm sorry if this journal is boring or lacking in any originality. Like I keep saying, maybe we all feel this way, and I just haven't caught on yet. All I can say is that I'd rather risk writing all this to find out which is true, than to stay quiet and never know what others think.
P.S. Please comment if you do/do not feel this is true for you in some form. I'm very curious as to how others feel, even if it's a simple yes/no.
EDIT: I am not depressed. Just introspective right now :3

Back, also free artz.
Posted 15 years agoWell, I'm back, more or less. Got internet in my apartment, and will be online more often. Will be doing more writing, and hoping to get back on track with the "Wuff/Wasd" story, as well as some other works involving friends of mine.
Also, for those interested in some free art, head on over to http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/1942284/ to participate in an Iron Artist that has free arts!

Kind of back...
Posted 15 years agoI'm still unable to check my messages here for the most part, as I'm only able to use FA in the very public computer lab here in my apartment. I will respond to notes or comments, but am limited to commenting on journals, as well as what sort of art I can comment on. *cough* >.>
Also, I'm still readily contactable via IM for those who want to chat :)

Will be away for a bit
Posted 15 years agoLong story short, I will not be here for a lil while. I'm not leaving permanently, just got a lot to do before heading off to college, etc.
I'll be on IM for those who chat with me, just won't be able to check my messages on here very often.

Errr...?
Posted 15 years agoSo, I went on Spring Break....several weeks ago. When I came back, my campus' internet wouldn't allow me on. My help desk told me this was the first computer with this sort of error they gave back that they couldn't fix. So after weeks and weeks of trying to figure it out, they just said "screw it" and let me bypass the normal security protocols. It's still under the normal blocks/restrictions/etc, but now I don't have to install their cruddy software. Yay~
Need to update more often...
Posted 15 years agoI tend to leave big spaces between my journal posts. It's not that I don't have much to say, I just don't feel that there is anything super cool/important to tell my watchers.
Also, I dislike logging in and finding a big ol' pile of journals from one person in a single day. Just get a twitter, please x.x If we want to follow your every movement, we'd stalk you better via Twitter.
I have been busy at college as well, so nothing to actually say except "Hey, this class is hard!" or "I sure hope my GPA will stay up." Nothing exciting like "Going to Furmeet" or "I had a great time at _____Con!"
Though, I DO have some links for those of you looking for some casual browser-gaming. Yeah, I know, who wants to do THAT? Well, I do. Cuz if you signup, I get bonuses. =3 So here we go.
Battle Dawn: http://battledawn.com/?referer_id=304731
This is a sort of hourly turn-based game in which thousands of people compete on game maps, not unlike a gigantic Risk board. There are some major differences, like colonies placed by users instead of set countries to conquer. You can make alliances, launch nukes and dragons and use mechs! It takes a bit to learn, but so far has proven to be real fun.
eRepublik: http://www.erepublik.com/en/referrer/Wasd+Exdee
I've just recently joined this. It's pretty much Accelerated Adult Life: The Browser Game. You get a job, work daily, get involved in politics, work your way up the career ladder, act patriotic towards the country you choose, etc. It takes around a week of playing (read: logging in and clicking a few things for five minutes a day, then logging out) to get to the good stuff, but hey, can't complain. Cool so far.
MineThings: MineThings.com
Yeah, don't have an invite link for this one. Sucks to be me. Anywho, this is one of those "works while you're not there" sorta games. You basically mine things (durrr) such as gold or random items, trading them and etc. Very simple, but enough people playing to populate the game with a rather active market.
So, for all you lovers of Tycoon/Management/Strategy games, one of these three should interest you. And message me on any three of these games, and I'll help you out!

Best birthday evar =3
Posted 16 years agoWell, it didn't start out seeming that way. A lot of my buddies had scabies and couldn't come, or had anniverseries or other excuses. What they couldn't come to was the Indy wrestling match held in a tiny redneck-filled building that smelled of nacho cheese, cigarette smoke, booze and sweaty bodies.
It was awesome.
The "wrestling" was obviously staged. but don't tell the crowd that. They were going wild over it all. Without the crowd, it would have just been a bunch of guys doing silly moves. But man, these people were into it! Some kids were bawling when their favorite wrestlers lost out. One woman there even got a young wrestler to sign her boob. She also happened to be sitting next to us. And was approximately 50 years old. Needless to say, the poor kid's face was totally beet red.
A friend of mine was laughing real hard during one of the "fights." The lady behind us tapped him on the shoulder and asked him if he was laughing from the embarrassment of his favorite wrestler losing. He giggled some more and said "no, I'm laughing at how fake this all is. She stared at him like he had told her he was Elvis Presley. WRESTLING IS SERIOUS BUSINESS AND OBVIOUSLY NOT FAKE.
Ahem.
So yeah, best birthday yet <3

Close to b-day!
Posted 16 years agoSo, my birthday will be this Saturday, the 23rd. It's my first birthday away from the family. I'm really unsure if I should rejoice or mourn.
On the one hand, I'm off on my own. On the other, no b-day party with presents :( I do have some plans, though! They're a little weird....
Our college town has an "Indy Pro Wrestling league" and I've been dying to see what sort of silly excuse they call their wrestling. And their next big match is on the same day as my birthday! Sounds like a plan to me.

Need some skype buddies!
Posted 16 years agoHey, long time no update! I'm still alive and well. Heading home today, in fact. This is where Skype comes into play. I'll be very lonely in my vehicle. Luckily I have an iPhone! If any of my friends want to attempt using Skype, give me a call at wasdexdee!
Edit: looks like skype only works via wifi :( Sorry guys.

Hi! Bye! Graduating!
Posted 16 years agoCan't talk long, getting ready for graduation!
I haven't been able to post much here, since I can't IM and use FA at the same time when using my iPhone, and I use that quite a lot.
And the reason I haven't updated on my laptop is because it's no longer a useful object now that I have to lug a USB keyboard and extra screen since neither of those that are built into the laptop work properly.
So I'm off to slip into a black tablecloth, wear a tasseled square sheet of cardboard, and stand onstage to receive an embossed slip of paper. Wish me luck!

Just one favor to ask...
Posted 16 years agoI know that April Fools is up and coming, and lots of you furs love pulling pranks and making jokes, but I do have one request for you all.
Go easy on me.
I know, you're all thinking "what a wuss; afraid of a little humor." Well, I have experienced a lot of undesireable "pranks" that have left me feeling less than jovial in the past. I don't really want to delve into it all, but it ranges from theft to losing a friend.
That isn't to say you can't have a little fun. Pull a prank if you want, i'd love to see what y'all have cooked up. But please use your common sense and make sure everyone involved will enjoy the joke.

Yay, ish my birthday!~
I probably won't be online for more than few minutes at a time, and not at all tonight. So instead there will be this faux journal party going on for you to dump your birthday wishes, and perhaps I'll be able to reply before said day is over.

Sorry for the lack of story-posting. Been too busy writing for my Creative Writing class, getting interviewed for scholarships, catching up on school missed while being interviewed, etc.

Birthday dead ahead! Look alive, furs!
Posted 17 years agoBeing the gift-lover that I am, I just would like you all to know that my birthday is January the 23rd.
Of course, you don't have to make me anything complicated. A nice "Happy Birthday Wasd" and a hug will suffice for you non-artists, but I require at least a five-page comic from the rest of you! *snickers*
In all seriousness, gifts are appreciated but not required by any means. I absolutely love getting gifts (in a certain unnamed seminar on dealing with people it's called a "love language") but no one will be less or more of a friend by merely ruffling my fur and singing happy birthday.

Belated holiday wishes? Or just insane kitsune ramblings?
Posted 17 years agoHi all!
I'd first like to apoligize for not posting any stories. I've been on a rather long (yet thankfully relaxing) vacation, and the rest of my break will probably be spent catching up with friends who have been off at college. I have gotten some request art, so this holiday wasn't a total loss :)
Hopefully I'll get that Blob-Fox story finished up and posted here!
